  • Awesome artwork and nerd/vintage decor sets this home apart. The hosts personality really comes through. Tidy and convenient, you'll find everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Close to Seven Springs for snow tubing. Wifi access and a washer and dryer offer more conveniences of home. Easy check in and out process with great communication. We definitely recommend Angelo & Amanda's home.

  • Great location. Nice neighborhood. Loved the enclosed back porch and yard. Other than my food, everything else was there.

    Mary2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, funky house with interesting art. Pleasant neighborhood. Small bedrooms and the only bathroom is upstairs but it worked for us. We did have a challenge with inconsistent wi-fi maybe due to an intense storm the day before. Enjoyed seeing/hearing trick or treaters in the neighborhood Great house from which to visit Fallingwater and Polymath Park.

  • The Chestnut Hut was a charming place to stay for the weekend. For a lifelong geek, the sci-fi motif in the living room was perfect (so say we all!). Even better was the proximity to Ohiopyle and the Frank Lloyd Wright homes. Just a short drive through picturesque countryside and we were there.

    Michael2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • From booking to check-out, everything went famously smooth. The Chestnut Hut is adorable, eclectic, and well cared for. Super clean with all the amenities you'd need for a short or long stay. Perfect location for visiting Wright's architecture and Pittsburgh. As mentioned in nearly every previous review, the decor and Angelo's artwork are the incredibly unique icing on the cake in this place. Would gladly stay here again.

    Heather2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time staying at The Hut. Great and responsive hosts. Had a blast talking about all the eclectic art work. Everything was as advertised and a wonderful breath from biking the GAP trail. Plenty of near-ish restaurants and stores.

  • My 11 year old son and I spent a wonderful weekend here working through a bible study. The house had everything we needed (sheets, towels, A/C window units) and we were able to ride our bikes down to the park on the Yough and do some fishing. Then we rode around on the trail for a while. Highly recommend the Chestnut Hut for a weekend getaway.

  • I had an amazing stay here! I had expected to just get a little sleep and then be in my way the following day. But I got so much more - it felt like a real bed and breakfast!! The bed was comfortable and I felt so rested and rejuvenated the following day. And breakfast was amazing! Particularly the omelette. Yes, Keith makes you breakfast! I didn't read reviews prior so this was such a lovely surprise. He had so many little thoughtful touches like toiletries, VS lotions and body misdts, etc. And then the pen...! That was amazing and a memorable experience. Thank you Keith for it - Not sure if you would like me share the story or not lest guests come with that admission too :-D. Anyway, I had a really lovely stay and will plan on staying there again next time I make such a trip!

    Selasi2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Keith is a great and thoughtful host. Breakfast prepared to my liking and a quiet, comfy bed. Keith has great suggestions for the area and communicates very well. Check-in was just as described. He is also flexible as my travel arrangements changed mid-stay. Highly recommended!

    Chris2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Shanda and Keith are awesome. Their house is beautiful and definitely well maintained. I work nights and slept during the day and never once was I woke up. I had breakfast made for me every morning and they helped with my laundry! This was my 2nd AirBnb and the first where the hostess lived in the house. They set such an amazing example for AirBnB and I seriously doubt that they will be topped. I hope to get more work in the area just to have such a nice place to stay.

    Travis2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice stay at Keith and Shanda’s. Keith was very welcoming and accommodating to any needs. Breakfast was wonderful and enjoyed good conversation with our host.

    Nancy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful place. Keith and Shanda are generous and hospitable hosts. They even had a nice hot breakfast waiting for me on the table in the morning. It felt more like I was staying at an old friend's place rather than just renting a room. You will definitely enjoy your stay.

    Gaetano2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

  • We could not have been more pleased with our stay there! We were visiting for Ohiopyle and it was the perfect distance and her house was so perfect for us. It was great that we were able to bring our dog, too! The house was extremely clean and has everything we could have ever needed. For our first airbnb experience it was amazing!

    Christy2020-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Connie’s place was a great place to stay for a little getaway. It was reasonably priced and close to some great hiking locations. Connie’s confirmation message says that there isn’t much cell service, however, with Verizon, I had great service with LTE.

    Jacob2020-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our one night stay at Connie’s guest house. It was exactly as listed. Two bedrooms, one bath, full kitchen and living room. There were no hassles and it was easy to find. One note: as Connie says in her listing: there is no almost cell phone service (we occasionally got one bar) and there is no WiFi provided. The TV gets two channels (Fox and ABC) but she does have a nice collection of tapes and dvds.

    Michael & Nancy2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • The guest house is very cozy with plenty of space heaters to keep extra warm if you want them. The communication was quick and helpful.

    Meg2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The guest house is very spacious, comfortable and homey! The hostess is very good at communicating and letting you know everything you need to know. Also, she has a vast wealth of information in a binder, and this proved a tremendous bonus for finding great things to do in the area!

    Eric2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and conveniently located.

    Sawyer2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The location is an easy drive to some amazing hikes and nature attractions. The house is warm with many nice touches, full equipped kitchen, with nice pots and pans

  • Jennifer was very accommodating, allowing me to check in early to be able to attend the wedding I was in town for. The room was very clean upon arrival and the staff was very friendly. There were snacks and water bottles waiting for me when I arrived which was life saving!

    Matthew2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • As noted by others, this place is a throwback to an earlier time, but it is spotlessly clean and exceptionally well maintained. Jenifer obviously loves this place and enjoys hosting guests. I was greeted as soon as I arrived and made to feel at home. They even made sure that I could park my motorcycle directly in front of my room so that I could keep an eye on it if I wanted. Bed was very comfy and there were snacks and coffee in the room

    Michael2019-10-05T00:00:00Z

Welcome to our newly renovated apartment "Beats-A-Hotel" truly does beat staying at a hotel! If you are looking for a more affordable option with its simple, comfortable, quiet and clean atmosphere this 1 bedroom apartment with additional amenities including a fully stocked kitchen with new appliances, new carpeting, washer and dryer and plenty of seating space is for you. Walking distance to many restaurants and quick food options.
Once the New Stanton General Store this newly renovated apartment with 1 double bed and plenty of room is located right off the main street in the heart of this small town.
The apartment is located in a residential patch of New Stanton. In my experiences visiting for the past several years the neighborhood has been friendly and safe.
  • Great for ski weekend and weddings near Seven Springs!

    A.J.2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My second time staying. Will definitely continue to stay as the need arises.

    James2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed her because I was attending a wedding in the area and the apartment was great. It was perfect for my fiancé and I and it was super close to the highway, restaurants, and multiple stores. Thomas was also very responsive and was able to accommodate an earlier check-in!

    Stephany2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • As Thomas reflects in the title, this home does beat a hotel. The space was very clean, quiet and comfortable. My family of 4 spent an entire month in Thomas’s place and even cooked Christmas dinner there. While I did have to purchase disposable baking pans. Thomas provides plenty of pots and skillets to prepare a meal. All in all it’s a great place to stay if you need a place to set up home or vacation for a bit. Would definitely book this one again.

    Irene2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, exactly as advertised located very close to food and the major highways.

Second floor rooms w/ private bath, Queen bed/memory foam (or 2 twins with private bath next door; ask) in historic home. In residential South Side. Cooked breakfast. Great amenities, B+B service. One mile to Great Allegheny Passage Trail; 17 miles to Fallingwater; 20 miles to Seven Springs (half hour drive). Walking distance to restaurants open 7 days of the week (8/10 mile). This business is inspected, pays taxes. We have more availability (or differing prices) online at our website.
This is a beautiful historic late Victorian home, built 1897 by Frank Zanchi, a stone contractor. It is an unusual, one-of-a-kind home built with double round turrets which are extremely rare and make the home look like a castle. It was renovated and repointed in 2013 - 2014; parking, rear entry, new roof, and several guest baths added. It is on a double lot and has free guest parking in back. Each of the four rooms is double occupancy. One room (not pictured) has 2 twin beds.
The South Side of Connellsville is historically one of the nicest residential areas of town and mainly composed of older single family residences. Due to loss of manufacturing jobs and declining population, some homes have been converted to rentals and apartments and others are showing signs of neglect; however, recent changes in city government, rampant volunteerism and the completion of the GAP Trail are encouraging new growth and better upkeep. Wide streets, numerous trees and beautiful old homes characterize this section of town. There are shops and places to eat within a moderate walking distance (3/4 of a mile). We are 2 blocks from the Johnny Woodruff Oak (brought back from Germany and the 1936 Olympics after Johnny, a Connellsville native, won a gold medal in the 800 meter race).
  • Susan's outstanding hospitality and great house made this stay very enjoyable. She went above and beyond our expectations, and made us a wonderful breakfast! We had gone to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water house and her location was very close by. We would definitely visit again! Justin and Nicole

    Justin2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a personal touch and experience this is your place. Susan is a gracious host and an outstanding cook. This home is over 100 years old and in remarkable shape. We were welcomed with open arms, enjoyed our stay and will be back.

    Julie2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Fox and Castle is a comfortable place with a great homemade breakfast. Susan puts a lot of love into her breakfast selections and Earl makes perfect bacon along with very tasty coffee. Susan has a gift for conversation and hospitality. The location best serves anyone that is going to be bicycling the Great Allegheny Passage Trail or the Frank Lloyd Wright homes.

    Maria2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place for my wife an I to stay for a weekend trip to Ohiopyle - it's only about 20 minutes away and the a/c was great! We loved the ginger cookies, great conversation, and helpful dinning suggestions.

    Greg2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • These were the closest accommodations to Fallingwater, and they worked very well for us. Ambiance in this renovated 19th century Queen Anne revival house was cozy and comfortable. Susan served a hearty breakfast, and we enjoyed a nice meal and conversation with the other guests. It was a a treat to take evening and morning walks around town and the neighborhood

    David2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to locate the Inn. Inn located in a nice and safe environment. Also, easy to find. check in. Owner was very gracious and accommodating. Room ( Lafayette Room ) was exceptionally clean and spacious. Beverages were readily available and the anise cookies were to die for. Historic home was well taken care of and furnished with neat pieces. Susan gave us a choice of breakfast each morning and each breakfast we chose was delicious. Susan provide information on area and recommended restaurants to try. Thanks to Susan for a great stay. If in the area again, we would stay here again.

    Richard2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • A soft bed, a nice shower and an amenable hostess who talked with us about local history, flowers and reworking an 1890.s house. Most pleasant

  • I was looking for a quick getaway from Pittsburgh with my wife and dog and stumbled upon this place. Mark was an exceptional host. The house was very clean and he greeted us upon arrival to show us around. The farm fresh eggs and muffins were a wonderful touch. We brought a fair bit of stuff with us, but the house was well stocked with supplies, blankets, snacks, etc. If you are on the fence definitely pull the trigger on going to this place. We will be going back again!

  • I spent the night at the Connellsville Bed and Breakfast with my friend as we were biking the GAP trail. Lucille and her husband were great hosts, our room was nice and clean, and breakfast was a perfect way to start off a day of biking. I would definitely recommend this place to others, especially those on bike trips.

  • We stayed at Lucille's place while biking on the GAP. It was a great choice. Immaculate, beautifully appointed, wonderful hospitality and an amazing breakfast. It is the type of place that you want to visit again with your friends. It is only about a block from the GAP and they know how to take care of bikers. Looking forward to our next visit!

  • Good place. Wish I had been warned about the fire department siren that scared the heck out of me at 4am hah, but other than that I’d recommend it.

  • This was a great weekend getaway. Location was secluded and peaceful, cabin was cozy, and hot tub was relaxing.

    Steve2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse exceeded our already high expectations. Between how beautiful and clean the place was and the little touches like the string lights over the hot tub, we never wanted to leave. It’s set on a huge property that is so fun to explore and close by to all the attractions and trails. We have still not stopped talking about how excited we are to go back. Thank you Nicki!!

  • Kimmie was an excellent host. She was great at communicating the check in process and features of the cabin. The cabin itself was adorable, and just what we were looking for. Clean, organized, and spacious. The retreat center had a welcoming feel to it. The cabin is an easy drive to seven springs. A perfect weekend spot. Thanks, Kimmie!

  • Elizabeth and Nikki’s place was perfect for 2 people. It’s a cute tiny home right near Ohio Pyle State Park. They were very accommodating hosts. Everything you need is all there. Complimentary coffee, tea, silverware, sink, bathroom and shower. No oven but it did have a microwave and stove. I’d definetly recommend this place! You should be flexible and able to climb a ladder.

The Yurt, situated at Rafferty Manor, built in 1918, located in Ohiopyle State Park, on the Youghiogheny, the rustic yurt was built circa 1920. The wood burner keeps the yurt warm on chilly evenings. It is in the perfect location for the outdoor enthusiast and architectual aficionados, between two Frank Lloyd Wright homes; Fallingwater (2.7 miles) and Kentuck Knob (1.7 miles). Managed by an artist, you will find all the amenities one would need to have a break from the outside world.
The yurt has two single beds, with box spring and mattress, linens and pillows. Hardwood floor throughout and open windows with screens. There is a wood burner for warming needs, plumbed with a flu-keeps the Yurt toasty. Lights in/out & a power strip for your charging needs. Shower and bathrooms are next door in the change house, which is shared with other outdoor enthusiasts. In colder months, when change house is closed, guests may use the main house for shower and bathroom. Keep in mind, this is a hard frame yurt experience, you are outdoors, in a yurt...not indoors of a house. There is no fridge, WiFi or AC, this is a yurt, outside!
Access to several eateries are within walking distance, the Pub next door has 25 craft beer on tap & the river is a stones throw away for swimming & boating. The evening scene is about river celebration and river/biking networking.
  • Quite possibly the best air bnb experience yet. Thank you! What an incredibly unique experience to add to our perfect GAP adventure.

  • Conrad and Ed were very friendly! Conrad answered any and all questions and was very generous. I was traveling alone and they helped me feel right at home. Would definitely stay again or recommend to others.

    Brooke2020-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Conrad was an amazing host for us while we stayed in the yurt during our GAP biking trip. He welcomed us in to his home and made sure we had everything we could have needed. He built us a fire, offered us food, coffee and water too! The yurt is incredibly cozy, comfortable, and clean. Such a unique fun experience! Thank you for being such a personable fun host!

    Caleb2020-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, unique and comfortable lodging, and an extremely hospitable host. You will love this place!

    Sheridan2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is wonderful!! It was a pleasure to stay in this unique space. There are so many thoughtful touches in the yurt (like the earplugs in the case-- honestly the trains passing through are not loud and even added to the ambiance of the stay!). The blankets kept me extremely cozy and warm throughout the night and the light inside was so calming. Listening to the rain come down on the roof while we had the fire going in the stove during a chilly March evening was an experience I'll carry with me every time I think back to my stay :)

    Lydia2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Yurt at Rafferty Manor was a great get-away for us. It was cozy and the wood burning stove kept us warm at night. The location is amazing - close to the Youghiogheny River and Ohiopyle State Park. We enjoyed hiking and spending time outdoors at during the days. The Falls City Pub is right next door and offers great food and a wide selection of beers. I highly recommend staying at Conrad's Yurt!

    Jamie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Yurt is a great place to stay in Ohiopyle. The living space is thoughtful and well furnished. Conrad was very welcoming, and goes out of his way to make sure that you have everything that you need during your stay. To top it all off, the location couldn't be better. The Yurt is located right by a number of trailheads, and is right by my favorite restaurant in town.

    Mike2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Conrad and Ed are the most awesome hosts. Their home is truly beautiful but the yurt is such a special place! This was our second time staying there and they blew our mind away again. Even in 10* night, the yurt stayed warm with the fire place and space heater. Conrad recommended a trail in Sugarloaf and it was exactly what we wanted. Their pets are so adorable as well. Thank you so much for everything!

Built in 1941 as Mountain Chevrolet Garage on the foundation of the former Confluence Hotel constructed in the late 1880s, our home is the perfect location for a night off the GAP trail or a day trip to Ohiopyle State Park or Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater (15 miles) and Kentucky Knob (13 miles). Second story apartment with river views that feels like a farmhouse and is situated on top of a warehouse. This guest room is one of two in our home. Managed by an artist couple.
This 1940s brick warehouse was a former autodealership and garage with two apartments above. The apartments were renovated into one 3200 sqft apartment in the 1990s by a previous owner. It feels like a farm house on top of a warehouse with picturesque views of the river, town, trees and mountains. The guest room is located in the west wing of this second story apartment facing the Casselman River, Sugarloaf Mountain, and the west side of Confluence. The full size mattress is on the medium firm/soft side. The Riverview Room is one of two guest rooms in the west wing that we have listed on AirBnB. The full bathroom in the apartment is shared with guests from the other room and is the main bathroom in our home. However, we do have our own bathroom located in the master suite. A half bath is located in the storefront, the room where we greet you on the street level. Please note: 1.) There is a 19-step staircase to access the apartment. 2.) We do not have central air conditioning. There are window and/or portable AC units in each bedroom. Room is equipped with clean sheets, hypoallergenic pillows (4) and comforter, ceiling fan, window air conditioning unit, white noise machine, extra blanket, kleenex, jar of filtered water and glasses, and ear plugs. Towels and washclothes are located in the shared bath. At the top of the stairs is a large sunroom -- perfect for relaxation, reading a book, eating a meal, savoring a cup of coffee or tea (provided). Other common areas include library, living room, kitchen, and dining room. We are a five minute bike ride (.8 of a mile) from the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) Trail in Confluence, 26 minutes (15 miles) by car to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and 23 minutes (13 miles) to his later home, Kentuck Knob. Whitewater rafting, fly fishing, hiking, biking, and skiing are all close by.
Confluence is a small rural mountain town in SW Somerset County, Pennsylvania at the confluence of the Youghiogheny and Casselman rivers and the Laurel Hill creek. We are located two blocks from the town square which features Confluence Cyclery, a locally-owned hardware store, post office, two banks, produce store, and gas station/restuarant. A grocery store is five blocks away. Other restuarants are located a little further out -- The River's Edge Cafe is six blocks away on the west side of town accessible via a foot/bike bridge over the Casselman -- and Lucky Dog Cafe (.8 of a mile) near the GAP trail off of 281. Trains run along Latrobe Ave through the day and night. And the Confluence Volunteer Fire Department is a block away.
  • Suzanne and Pope were wonderful hosts. Their initiative in Confluence is admirable and we are excited to return and watch it grow. Lest I forget to mention the outdoor recreation—there is a lot of it between Ohiopyle and Fallingwater, but it’s even a treat just to sit and take in the rivers right in town. Comfortable bed and serene atmosphere. This stay has small town purity inside a culturally rich home.

    Jacquelyn2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I came to Confluence to get “off the grid”. To spend a couple days with my phone off; no ties to life, no obligations, and a bit of optimism to find a little peace with nature. I don’t know exactly what I was looking for, but I found a lot of it on this trip — due in no small part to this space and the people who run it. First things first, Pope and Suzanne are phenomenal hosts. Quick to communicate, and wholeheartedly committed to ensuring you have a good time. They’re transplants to the area themselves, so they know the ropes, they know their way around, and importantly, they know your perspective as a visitor. They estimated that 51% of their guests are in town for Fallingwater, and they’re deeply knowledgable about this, offering some great tips about other Frank Lloyd Wright interests in the area, as well as tips about some other parts of town I came to thoroughly enjoy. There was a lot to be said about serendipity on this trip — “the artist going off the grid” finding a space where the hosts happened to be true, lifetime artists, off the grid? Absolutely wild. Also, Giovanni, their dog, is remarkably adorable. A very good boy indeed. Second things second, the space itself! My lord! A 1940s car dealership converted to an arts space and a home. I might've paid admission to just take a tour, let alone to live there for a couple days. Pope and Suzanne encouraged me to play my acoustic guitar in the studio space — unbelievably, there’s no photo of this room on the listing (at the time of writing) — but it was a marvelous, open space that I’m grateful to have occupied. When the sun set over the river through the factory-style windows as I poorly played guitar lines unworthy of the space’s absolutely remarkable, natural acoustics… it was one of my favorite moments of my brief vacation. A note to musicians: maybe record a song here! The living areas that are meant to be shared are also truly first-rate, and I am similarly surprised there are no photos on the listing of these. The art hung on the walls is striking, and the furniture and decor are tastefully hip (I heard it’s been described similar to "quaint farmhouse meets New York loft”, which I’d hold very accurate). The bathroom was stocked with any and everything you might need, including handmade soaps from Oakland. Oh, and the kitchen? It was stocked as if the essentials were handpicked by gourmands -- everything from various oils (craft e.v.o.o. to sunflower), down to some very exceptional artisan, himalayan salt. When I saw this, I think I let out an audible “hot damn.” Not only is this an objectively perfect place to stay, you’re doing good by the community to stay here. Confluence (and the surrounding area) is bolstered by a significant amount of tourism income, and yet, there is very little arts space. By staying here, you’re helping fund a small business that seeks to inject the arts into Confluence, to provide residency programs, and also to establish an espresso shop and apothecary. But (most importantly, in my opinion), you’re helping to provide Confluence with a relevant gallery. When you stay at Tissue Farm, you’re helping the community — the local youth! — attain a local, relevant, and *accessible* arts space! It’s so important! This is one of the longer reviews I’ve typed out for an AirBnB, but without question, my stay at Tissue Farm was the best experience I’ve had on this platform. Whether you’re in the area for an outdoors excursion, or a few Frank Lloyd Wright tours, or just to get off the grid — it’d almost be foolish to stay anywhere else.

    Grayson2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely, historical home! Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Jenny2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was the first time I've stayed in an Air BNB and I didn't know what to expect. I knew it was a room in someone's home, and I knew the area that it was in, as I usually camp down the road. The price was more reasonable than most chain hotels I've stayed in nearby and the cleanliness was impeccable. There is character and charm in the Tissue Farm. The room was cozy and warm, eclectic art adorns the walls, organic soap and toiletries are provided in the bathroom, and a tasty breakfast of oatmeal with fresh pears and coffee was provided in the morning, and the hosts Suzanne and Pope were really cool and hospitable. They have a really cool vision of the future of the Tissue Farm which includes a coffee shop, art gallery, and maker space, as well as restoring a vintage RV trailer as another Air BNB room. I'm excited to stay at the Tissue Farm again on my next visit to the area!

  • What a great hospitality, they are amazing, they treat you as a friend. They have a beautiful history house. I am sure you love and will come back again. Great location, close to the gas station. The only thing the area doesn’t have service but they do have wfi.

Our 5 room cottage is located on 3 acres with large yards and gardens front and back and woods in the rear of the property. the living room and bath have heated floors which guests love and a hot tub on the patio next to the cottage. We want to share what we enjoy every day.
Our modest cottage is nestled among large estates in the Rolling Rock Area. The fox hunt often comes by in the fields adjacent to our property.
  • Thanks for having us

    Darren2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Shane’s place was a wonderful stay. Location was perfect for us, as we were going skiing for the weekend at Hidden Valley. Hot-tub was great, and Shane even treated it with chemicals when we were gone skiing so it would be ready when we got back. Definitely worth the stay if you’re ever in the area. Can’t beat the price either. Thanks for the great hospitality, Shane!:)

    Krista2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Shane’s cottage was an excellent place to stay while in town visiting family. Shane was very kind and provided an easy check-in experience. I appreciated the thoughtful extras, such as the homemade banana bread, hot chocolate, and the puzzle he set out for us (Shane, we finished half of it but didn’t have time to do the whole thing... next time!). The queen sized bed was comfortable and the floors in the living room and bathroom were heated, which was a treat. The kitchen contained all of the utensils and pans we needed to make breakfast. Shane was responsive to communication and checked in a few times via email to make sure we were doing okay. Overall, it was a good experience and we will likely stay here the next time we’re in town.

    Emily & Michael2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint little cottage may not look like much from the outside but once you are inside it opens up to a spacious living room, large bathroom, bedroom, office space, full kitchen, and access to a hot tub! Shane and his wife have created a very warm and comfortable environment for you to come and get away from it all. They are very courteous and welcoming! The surrounding country side is spectacular and well worth exploring. The Laurel Highlands have a variety of activities and places to visit within an hours drive. Museums, historical sites and several Frank Lloyd Write homes (open seasonally or with seasonal hours) I will definitely be coming back to visit again.

    Amy2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient location right off of 711 near Ligonier. Host was very friendly and accommodating. His wife even baked us Christmas cookies. Place was clean and the heated floors were a nice touch. Would stay there again.

  • Space was cozy and comfortable. Hot tub was nice. Host was friendly.

    Douglas2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a charming little cottage! Perfect for a couples weekend get away! We really enjoyed the fire pit which was stocked with firewood! The hot tub was amazing as well! Shane was such an attentive host and made sure we had everything and more that we needed! Definitely would visit again!

    Allison2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The entire cottage was something out of a magazine; it was so cute! Shane was incredibly responsive and Sandi even made us cookies. We celebrated our anniversary there and I highly recommend it. Do yourself a favor and sit in the hot tub at sunset! The view is absolutely picturesque. The kitchen had so much more than we expected with coffee, juice, water, condiments, and utensils. I always wonder about that when renting a place but Shane has it covered. There was even an outdoor fire-pit and grill which were fantastic. 100/100 Would love to stay there again!

It has all the essentials and when I say all, it means all. The icing on the cake was the coffee pot, appropriate coffee filters and basic coffee grounds. There was also fire starter and lighters set out to get a fire going. My husband and I loved our ski weekend at Hidden Valley. Being so close to the slopes and lifts was incredible. We will definitely be back!

A simple, yet comfortable private apartment, well-located near downtown Uniontown and roughly 30 minutes or less from attractions of many kinds: "Whether you're active and want to shoot the rapids and hike/bike the trails that run through our section of the Alleghenies, or you're visiting to simply relax and take-in the many historic and cultural highlights within our region, Southwestern Pennsylvania is beautiful in every season and always has an adventure to offer if you're looking for one."
Our apartment is simple. You'll have a cozy place to sleep, a full kitchen (with some cookware) to utilize if you enjoy cooking, a living room when you want to just relax, and your own washer and dryer for your laundry, all within the privacy of your own place. We also provide bed linens, towels, shampoo, soap, and laundry detergent. We currently do not have internet, wifi, or tv provided, though we're planning to eventually add those services as well.
We are located in a pretty great spot that can get you a lot of places with just a short drive or walk. If you have an emergency or are staying to visit someone in the hospital, the Uniontown Hospital is just a few blocks away and an easy walk. There are outdoor basketball and tennis courts just down the road at the local YMCA. There's a 3/4 mile trail that's great for a morning walk, and it's only a block away. Taking a stroll down main street is easy too, as it's just one block away also. We are also within only one to two miles from the Uniontown Mall and multiple shopping plazas, including many small stores and some of the more well-known ones like Aeorpostle, American Eagle Outfitters, Rue 21, Bon-Ton, Bath & Body Works, Burlington Coat Factory, Gabe's, Hobby Lobby, Dick's Sporting Goods, Dunham's Sporting Goods, Harbor Freight, Target, and Wal-Mart. Our selection of local restaurants, also all conveniently located within 2 miles, include choices like Nguyen's Seafood & Steakhouse, Meloni's, and Yum-Yum's Bagel Cafe (all highly-rated within our area), as well as Olive Garden, Red-Lobster, El-Patron, Fiesta Azteca, New Century Chinese Buffet, Shogun Hibachi Steakhouse, New York Pizza and Pasta, Applebee's, Eat'n'Park, Ruby Tuesday, The Boston Beanery, Panera Bread, Chili's, Bob Evan's, Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, Five Guys, IHOP (24/7), and many others.

  • You need to stay in this house. It is absolutely beautiful with a rich history to boot. Coronavirus hit the country during our stay, so most of our planned activities were canceled, but that didn't bother us one bit because it allowed us more time to enjoy all the beautiful rooms in this home. I'd brought a book along, and the house had so many beautiful spaces to enjoy that I ended up traveling around the house with my book to enjoy all the cozy spots. We will definitely be back to see Fallingwater and do the other things we'd planned, and will be staying in this house again. Do the telephones puzzle. Trust me.

  • Huge historic home it was facinating to explore the house a blend of history with modern touches

    Lawrence2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is way better than what expect! The house is enormous and every inch is dripping with history and family and you feel like you just came home after a long time. Even though it is a historical house, the important things are updated and it doesn't seem out of place. Also if you're traveling in the winter: HEATED FLOOR IN THE BREAKFAST NOOK. I cannot stress how amazing this feature was. On top of that, the hospitality was excellent, responses within minutes! If you're lucky enough to stay here, enjoy every second of it!

  • WOW what a house. You realize as soon as you enter the premises you are not only in a fantastic house but a home. The house was built in the craftsman style and has remained so. Except for the modern conveniences you would think you are in a wealthy home three generations or more back. Multiple generations of the same family have lived in the house and all the family photos, etc are still there. The house has been well maintained and is very clean. Can't beat the price for such a wonderful experience. Whenever we go back to Scottdale this is where we will be staying.

  • My family and I had a wonderful time at Dun-Movin. We found this home for our trip to visit Falling Water. It was clean, and we enjoyed learning about the home and the family’s history. The home is beautiful. Beth greeted us at the door, and was available to us throughout our stay. We would highly recommend it.

  • Quite a gem in the Laurel Highlands! We were looking for a 'home base' for a long weekend that was in the middle of everything we wanted to do. This went above and beyond. A beautiful home full of character, history, and charm, we enjoyed getting to explore the house when we weren't out and about. We brought our toddler and Beth was considerate prior to us booking the reservation by letting us know there were a lot of antiques and breakables. It did take a little more effort to keep him out of things, but it was so well worth it. (I wouldn't bring a whole parade of children here, that's not the point of this home, but 2 adults vs. 1 child was very doable!) Beth greeted us and walked us through the house. She explained some quirks that any old house would have, and couldn't have been more helpful or gracious. We were also impressed by the number of modern-day amenities the house offered (sonos speaker system, kitchen appliances, jacuzzi tub, etc.), considering its history, and how well that had been incorporated so as not to diminish the history of the house. She emphasized that we could contact her at any time, for anything, but we never needed to because the house had plenty of everything we needed! Lots of towels, sheets, pillows, bathroom amenities, and all the cookware you'd need to prepare your own food, which we did a few times. I noticed a review from awhile back that there wasn't enough hot water to fill the Jacuzzi tub but I wanted to make sure to say there was plenty for us and that wasn't an issue at all. Also, Scottdale was a really cute little town - I wish we had the chance to walk around more, but it felt sweet to drive 'home' there each night. We tried out the Wish's Bar and Grill, walking distance from the house, and that was very good. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere in the area - what a great value for the cost!

This is a true one-of-kind experience to stay at this amazing 52-acre historic landmark organic farm nestled in the Laurel Mountains near Seven Springs Mountain resort, Hidden Valley, Ohiopyle State Park, Fallingwater and Ligonier. This super cute and cozy one-room cabin has a full-sized sofa bed and a full-sized futon with a fully equipped kitchen and a small table and chairs, heat and AC, and a separate bathroom with a vanity and small shower. All newly renovated using reclaimed wood.
The farm property includes a huge pond for swimming and is adjacent to a 3000-acre state forest with the most incredible hiking trails. Just a few miles off of the turnpike you will surround yourself with the amazing feeling of living on a restored historic farm. Rent this incredibly lovely one-room plus one bathroom bunkhouse that is situated right next to the historic barn. The bunkhouse has been newly redone with a fully equipped kitchen and lovely bath. The pull-out sofa-bed sleeps two and the futon sleeps two very comfortably as you enjoy a relaxing night on this quiet farm. The guests will have access to a beautiful 52-acre farm and a huge pond in the back as you enter the 3000 acre Forbes State Forest for amazing hiking and swimming. We do not interact with the guests unless they need us, especially if they prefer to have privacy. This farm is nestled in the Laurel Mountains and is surrounded by so many wonderful things to do. This area is a major tourist attraction but the cabin is very quiet and private. You do need a car to get around in this area as there is no good public transportation. Directions: Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the Donegal/Ligonier exit. Turn left as you come off of the exit onto route 31. Stay on Route 31 for 3 miles and turn right onto Roaring Run Road (immediately past the VFW sign on your left). The farm is on your left as you come down the hill on Roaring Run. Tall pine trees line the driveway to the bunkhouse, farmhouse and springhouse. The bunkhouse is to the right of the driveway next to the barn. Parking: Please park on the gravel areas only and pull to the left to avoid blocking other vehicles.
This is nestled in a quite neighborhood backed up against a 52-acre historic landmark organic farm. There is very little traffic and none of the usual tourist commotion for the area.
