Places to stay in Colerne
A rare opportunity to stay in a huge first floor period apartment in one of England's most beautiful cities. Beautifully restored by us and with easy access to the city centre and countryside beyond. Free on-street parking and a space saved for you on request.
Ready
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: We are open and able to offer the perfect place for social distancing, working from home or just different 4 walls. Rates are reduced and any cancellations are offered free to NHS front line staff. As we offer an entirely private apartment we are still able to offer a beautiful but rather different experience. Whether your holiday was cancelled or you wish to self isolate or work from another location or just sick of the same four walls. We can offer a car to apartment welcome and will greet you personally with a smile not a hand shake. Myself and Daniel clean and maintain the apartment personally to the highest standards and we use antibacterial treatments on all surface, particularly regularly touched areas. We are also laundering linen and towels at a high temperature of 90c. Hand wash is provided as always The apartment has Netflix/Tv and fast broadband suitable working from home or just play. The kitchen has all you need and a supermarket is literally 5 mins walk away. If you decide to venture out on foot, beautiful and quiet countryside and canal walks are just 5 mins away As we speak Bath and attractions and most restaurants and pubs remain open and should be lovely and quiet for once. This may change but the delivery services in Bath will happily bring the best local restaurant to your door. (We have an intercom so can be left at the door)
  • Delightful hosts who truly care and the apartment was an absolute treat to spend time in. Immaculately presented with everything you could possibly need and stunning views to top it all off. This place is a testament to the true beauty of Bath! Highly recommend and I’ll be back many more times, I’m sure. Thank you Daniel and Anna!

  • From the moment meeting Daniel to leaving the keys to depart, we were in awe at how wonderful the place and our stay was. Everything was impressively clean and Daniel and Anna are no doubt super hosts. They were incredibly accommodating. Waking up each morning to those big windows letting in all that natural light started the day right. Seriously couldn't have asked for a better a Bath experience. Thank you!!!

  • The flat is gorgeous. It’s bright & airy and well equipped. It’s only a short walk from nice restaurants and is well located for exploring the sights of Bath. Daniel was very friendly & helpful & met us on arrival and showed us around. Thank you Daniel! We will be back!

  • Daniel and Anna's place is a perfect place for a base to explore Bath. Daniel met us upon check-in and showed us round the beautiful stylish house. Breakfast Infront of those massive windows was a great start to each day. Would stay again :)

  • If you're lucky enough to find it available, book it! Communication was perfect, Daniel is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The flat is simply perfect and spotless. Shower is great, bed is comfortable, living room incredible. We had parking and they even let us park after our booking was over. We were late to free up the parking space but Daniel being a great dude was understanding. The flat is close to everything (15 min walk to center) and there are great pubs around. The view is amazing. Possibly the best Airbnb experience we had so far and we've been using it for 4 years. Book it now!

    Victor2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel and Anna's apartment is a stunning space! It's in a great location well tucked away from the crowdedness of the town centre, situated in a lovely local neighbourhood with easy access to shops, bars, restaurants and also the more secluded areas. We enjoyed walking everywhere from here and waking up to the spectacular view over the fields everyday. The apartment has wonderful period features, natural light throughout and is spacious, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. It has all the amenities you could need and is decorated with many thoughtful touches. The hospitality was exceptional - we felt so welcomed and enjoyed having great chats with Daniel. All the local tips made our stay even more memorable! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and special getaway to Bath.

  • My boyfriend and I were just looking for a quiet night away and this cottage was perfect for that. The space was lovely and cosy, and was very easy to relax in. The price was very affordable for a one night stay. Both Tony and Theresa were lovely to talk to and communication was great. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice getaway whilst also being in a great location.

Breakfast on the supplies provided at the traditional wrought-iron table in the courtyard garden. End a perfect day by returning via the private entrance to soak in a deep free-standing tub big enough for 2, set by an exposed-brick arched wall.
Recently renovated, this stunning Georgian apartment offers comfort and plenty of character. A real romantic get away or equally a great place for the family to visit. The space has a large double bed and sofa bed in the same room. Finished to the highest of standards. Light, spacious and airy. Private entrance and courtyard garden.
Great Pulteney Street is one of the most eye-catching roads in Bath, a city that's not short of visual treats. Take in the architectural splendours of the centre by foot, pausing to visit some of the many nearby boutiques, cafes, and restaurants.
  • Excellent accommodation in brilliant location close to city centre. Being able to park was very helpful as parking is difficult in Bath. Fridge and cupboard was stocked with essentials that really helped when we arrived. Would certainly book again.

I would highly recommend John's Apartment to future Guests and we will certainly try to stay again on any future visit to Bath With Thanks Dewi

  • If you are looking to do the sites around Bath then look no further..This accommodation couldn't be any nearer to town. Its a beautiful flat that offered all the luxury's you would expect from a hotel.. John was so helpful and was so quick to respond with any enquiries I had..We were greeted at the door and without any hesitation John helped us with our bags and ensured we were all settled in very quickly..Im already planning another trip to Bath and I am looking forward staying here again..

  • Great host, beautiful house and so close to the town centre! Definitely recommended

    Sophie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent location for exploring Bath. Once the car was parked there was no need to move it at all, nothing was more than a 10 minute walk away so was easy to pop in and out.

    Emily2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • John was very welcoming and even left us with milk ( might I add in a bottle)! And real butter in block form ( impressive we don't get that where we’re from often!) and bread , cereal and eggs! Very satisfied. Apartment was amazing.. bed was so comfy and smelt like washing... also it says it’s king size on the website but we are convinced it was a queen... it was hugggee! Everything spaced perfect and decor was breath taking! Exactly what you would expect from beautiful bath. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and we made pizzas however we did need a dustpan and brush which we could not find at all anywhere ( sorry John). John was very informative about where amenities were and everything was within a stones throw of the apartment... so many amazing things to do and such a historic town along with an amazing historic Georgian apartment to go with it! John your apartment is exquisite. Only booked a week previous and so glad we did because it was the best location to be! Just shows you can get an awesome Bargain last minute...We did so much stuff In 2 days - one more would of been nice and we came from about 3 and Half hours away just to give people an idea. Just one word of advice to John - it was quite noisey on our second and last night in the apartment as the people above us in his apartment above we’re having abit of a party possibly and I struggled to sleep (which was the only let down on our trip). Obviously this isn’t johns fault but maybe to be wary that the walls aren’t a thick as we first thought And John said compared on our lovely first night... We would recommend to John to get a blind /shutter above the front door as this lets street light through at night time again making it a little hard to sleep and the shutters at the front that close the beautiful windows , could have latches so that they stay open abit better. - over all this didn’t ruin our visit just recommendations. We will be visiting again for sure as so much more to do. Jazz and Dean x

Little Orchard is a beautiful Bath stone building which was once the potting sheds and outbuildings for The Orchard. It is a large airy space with a huge cosy bed, woodburner, bath and kitchen area. A perfect retreat 20 minutes from Bath! Due to the current UK government restrictions on travel we are not taking any bookings at the moment. We are taking bookings from frontline health workers who need to self isolate or who are working in the area temporarily. Just get in touch with your details.
The Space Little Orchard was converted from what were originally gardeners' potting sheds and outbuildings. It is separate from our house, across our gravelled driveway. It has changed greatly over 200 years and is now a large airy barn style room with a separate bathroom with bath and shower over. There is a small kitchen area with breakfast bar, sink, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, kettle and all you need to make breakfast or simple meals. There is also an electric one ring hotplate for crispy bacon or fried eggs! ***Please note there is no oven******If you would like a welcome pack we can provide cereal, croissants, juice and other breakfast basics for two people at an additional cost of £10. In the main room there is a zip and link super king-sized bed which can be split into two singles. We have a travel cot for small visitors, and can provide fold up beds for small children although floor space is quite limited. The space is not really suitable for 3 adults unless you are all very friendly! There is a lovely woodburner, and we provide logs and kindling. Little Orchard has its own entrance and off road parking space so you can come and go as you wish. There is an outdoor seating area for al fresco breakfasts, and a rustic seat outside the front door. There is a television, DVD player and wi-fi. There is also a bookcase full of books for cosy evenings by the fire. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are all provided. I also provide tea, coffee, and milk. There are two fitted thermostatically controlled electric convector heaters in the main room, a fan heater and heated towel rail in the bathroom and the woodburner. NB You can book for one night apart from Fridays and Saturdays when there is a 2 night minimum stay. There are no hidden cleaning fees with this listing - the price is as listed plus the AirBNB booking fee.
The Neighbourhood Little Orchard is set in lovely countryside but within easy reach of a multitude of attractions. You will wake up to the birds singing, and we are situated in a Conservation Area. Bathford is built on Roman remains, it is known as 'the walled village', and in the woods at the top of the lane you can find the remains of the stone quarries that supplied Bath with its beautiful stone. There are some lovely walks from the cottage, and lots of pubs and cafes to visit. One of our favourites is the Mill at Bathampton, by the river. You can get a boat from here into Bath as well in the season. Check the Pulteney Princess for times and cost. There are two pubs in the village - one at the bottom - the Crown Inn - and one at the top. The village shop is open 7 days a week and is a co-operative run by people who live in the village. It has a cafe, and stocks a good range of basics as well as fresh bread and croissants and local produce. There are two golf courses within 3 miles - Kingsdown Golf Club and Cumberwell Golf Club. You can walk down into the valley and in half an hour you will be walking on the Kennet and Avon canal at Bathampton. On most weekends and during the week in school holidays there is a lovely canal boat which serves cakes, sandwiches and coffee, or you can walk or cycle along to the Dundas Aqueduct at Limpley Stoke and hire a boat. You can also hire old 1920's and 30's restored wooden rowing boats and punts at Bathampton Mill and at the Bath Boathouse. There are also two lovely pubs in Bathampton - The Mill on the river and The George on the canal. We are just outside Bath to the East with views from the village of Little Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel lives near here and it was where he wrote his famous song! In Bath you are spoilt for choice with the Roman Baths, the Pump Rooms, the Royal Crescent, the Circus, loads of theatres and restaurants, Bath rugby, Thermae spa - (a rooftop pool experience not to miss, especially at night) Christmas street market, gorgeous Georgian architecture. There are festivals all year round including the famous Mozartfest in November, the literature festival, Jane Austen festival and food festivals. The Music Festival is in May, the Christmas Market around the Abbey in November/December and too many others to mention. Shopping is a joy as there are lots of independent shops and Bath is a very self-contained city. You can also explore the surrounding area into Wiltshire and Somerset. Stonehenge is an easy day trip as are Wells, Salisbury, Tetbury and the Cotswolds and Bristol. The Hauser and Wirth gallery in Bruton with its famous Piet Oudulf garden is about 40 minutes away, and has a great restaurant and exhibitions. National Trust properties in the area include Stourhead, Dyrham Park, Lacock ( Harry Potter filmed here as well as lots of period dramas such as Cranford), Prior Park Gardens , The Courts at Holt, Great Chalfield Manor (some of Wolf Hall was filmed here), and Tyntesfield near Bristol. There are some great restaurants and lots of my guests go out to The Pig at Hunstrete which is just West of the Bath on the way to the Chew Valley Lakes. There is also the Michelin starred Pony and Trap in Chew Magna run by Josh and Holly Eggleton. The Gainsborough Hotel also has a Michelin star. Lucknam Park Hotel and Spa is 15 minutes away and also has a Michelin star, as well as a lovely spa and riding centre. A great veggie option is Acorn Kitchen for dinner, or the Green Rocket cafe for breakfast or lunch, also Chapel Arts who do lovely homemade flatbreads. If you are vegan try Beyond the Kale in Green Park Station, open during the daytime only, or Nourish on the London Road which is vegan and open for lunch and dinner. Corkage in Walcot Street, as recommended by Jay Rayner!, is a lovely wine bar with daily changing tapas plates. For a curry try the Eastern Eye in an amazing Georgian building, and for Thai, Koh Thai Tapas in Broad Street. The best Italian in Bath is the family run Martini on George Street. There are loads of independent cafes, my favourites are Society Cafe in Kingsmead Square, and the Walcot cafe in an old Bakery, with a club downstairs for dancing. I also love The Blue Quail deli on Pulteney Bridge, lots of lovely South African food and cakes. There are a couple of old Bath pubs you shouldn't miss. The Old Green Tree in Green Street, wood panelled and very cosy, The Star on The Paragon, no food just great beer, and The Bell on Walcot Street, bought by locals to save it from closing and a great live music venue. In Batheaston there is Gather - open Tuesday to Saturday, mostly vegetarian with lots of gluten free and great coffee and breakfasts/lunches. If you like cocktails you have to go to the Gin Bar, and The Dark Horse in Kingsmead Square. We have great theatres from the old and venerable Theatre Royal, to smaller places like the Rondo in Larkhall and The Mission Theatre. The best cinema is the Little Theatre by the Spa, there is a little bar and it has great atmosphere. On a weekend head to Green Park Station for the food market on Saturday mornings, and various vintage and antiques markets on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • An extremely quiet but lovely cottage situated down a private lane. Handy for Bath and Bradford on Avon. Lovely wood burner cosy and comfortable. Karen was very helpful and we had a really nice weekend Thank you.

  • Had such a lovely weekend at the beautiful cottage. Such a cute space, nicely finished and in the perfect location. We got the bus and went on lovely walks to Bath city centre. 100% recommend.

  • Fantastic apartment which we would fully recommend to anyone. Facilities were great and perfectly clean, good connections into bath as well! Couldn’t fault it, Karen was very accommodating and helpful :) 10/10 would stay again.

  • Amazing place, hope to return very soon.

    Jon2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for our anniversary weekend and could not have asked for anything better. The house was spotless and very stylish whilst still being very cosy (due to the wood burner that was already prepared for us). The fact that the house is not located in the centre of bath is no issue whatsoever as there are frequent busses from just outside the cottage and it only takes 20 minutes to reach the centre! The icing on the cake was discovering 2 delicious brownies which had been left for us when we arrived. Thank you Karen!

Our lovely studio flat is situated on the first floor of Rochfort Place, Bathwick Street, a beautiful Georgian Bath town house which dates back to the late 1700s. With the original floor to ceiling windows and wedding doors, it is a truly magnificent studio.
Rochfort Place is just a 10 minute walk to the centre of Bath with its fantastic shopping and restaurants. You can spend time in the many museums, Roman Baths, or relax in the modern thermae hot spa and stroll to the world famous Royal Crescent. It is short 3 minute walk from Great Pultney Street and the Holburne Museum located in the stunning Sydney Gardens with the picturesque Kennett and Avon canal running through it. You can hire bikes, boats - the options are endless. The National Trust Prior Park Gardens are easily accessible. We have the Theatre Royal which has a varied programme and worth seeing what is on during your stay. The terrace which leads directly from the kitchen is a wonderful place to sit and reflect on your stay in Bath. Bath Spa train station is only a 15 minute walk through the city centre which provides hourly trains to London in 90 minutes and regular trains to the City of Bristol in 10 minutes. Modern comforts include a bathroom, a self-catered kitchen, wi-fi, a television and speakers. A rarity for a flat in central Bath, our studio has outdoor space which consists of a private balcony with table and chairs. Due to the balcony and safety, the apartment is not suitable for children/ toddlers - babe in arms only. There is plenty of street parking available and you will be given a permit for your car on arrival if required. We provide all bedding, towels, hairdryer etc to make your stay comfortable - a home from home. Although you are spoilt for choice with shops and facilities on your doorstep there is a welcome basket of a few things to get you started. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Light the log burner in the imposing Georgian fireplace, grab a book, and climb into the plush bed with its William Morris-inspired headboard. This snug studio combines a historic feel with high-end fabrics and a soothing, muted colour palette.
The Little Studio has just had a makeover! We have totally reburbished it with a new feel. There have been a few more additions since the professional photos were taken so some of the shots are mine! The bedroom area has a log burner in the big Georgian fireplace, with a curtain to draw for those cosy nights in .It is equipped to a 5* standard with great attention to detail. Located within a 2 minute walk from Bath Spa train station, it is ideally situated for tourists and business people alike. Central Bath with all its attractions, shops and restaurants are all but a five minute walk from this little gem, you can even take a stroll into Bath along the canal. On the doorstep in the neighbourhood of Widcombe are 2 super gastro pubs "The Ring of Bells" and the "White Hart". ( Famous for their Sunday Lunch ) Also, a small supermarket open 7 days a week until 10pm, a launderette, a pharmacy,a collection of independent shops and a two cafes. Please note that the Little Studio is situated in central Bath and is within easy walking distance to all the sights and joys that Bath has to offer. As with all central locations in any city the benefits include everything on the "doorstep" eg. a late night supermarket plus two highly recommended gastro pubs and a couple of local cafés. The Widcombe Deli, run by Nikki and John, has great food, especially their Breakfasts. You can relax in there with the daily papers and magazines. Latest News, from the BBC 08/03/15. Bath is the Worlds third safest City. Thought I would just post this up. ***The Little Studio has been an Airbnb listing for over four years. I try to provide guests with a super comfortable little space that has everything they need. IMPORTANT: Please be aware that the little studio is small...... it can be booked for monthly stays, BUT as it is tiny unless you are out all day working etc it would not be suitable.
Widcombe is known as one of Bath's artisan neighbourhoods, steeped in local history. The area is very much part of central Bath, but manages to retain a friendly village vibe. Most of the city's sights are within 5 minutes' walk along the canal.
  • We loved staying here, great location and lovely decor!

    Ali2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here because it was local to the area I used to work in Bath so knew the place well but was completely blown away by this hidden gem! The place was clean and well decorated which made it feel more like a cozy hotel room. Check-in and Check-out was very easy and very useful for us as we arrived late. There was plenty of information available on the area and the air bnb in the book on the table. The best bit however was the electric “wood burner” in the room- it added a real cozy touch and kept us very warm on a mid February visit. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend.

  • The little studio was the perfect spot for our short Bath getaway. It was very cozy, beautifully decorated with some personal touches. Susie was very communicative and helpful - all in all a great host and a wonderful find.

    Jesse2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the studio was excellent, easy walking distance either through the city or along the river to both bus and train stations, shops and local attractions. Susie was exceptionally pleasant prompt to reply to any queries and questions. Check in was incredibly easy. The studio itself was clean and cosy and has a simple kitchen which had all we needed. It's small and by a busy road but it didnt bother us at all and suited our requirements perfectly. Would definitely recommend.

    Gareth2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little flat in a great location. Very close to the centre of bath and the train station. Extremely clean and had everything needed for a weekend break.

    George2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying in this little studio. Perfect for a weekend away and beautifully decorated. Made good use of the space and it had everything we needed! Great location too right by the River Avon and over the road from the train station- only about a 5 minute walk into town. Fully recommend.

    Charlotte2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • It is quite small but very cosy and great for hunkering down on some wet and miserable winter nights. Handy for shops and Bath

    John2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Spent the weekend here with my wife. We had a lovely weekend and loved the local pubs/restaurants. It’s a shame there isn’t a TV but the host has tried to manage this with a tablet. For the price I would definitely recommend this studio flat.

The property was built in the early 1800s and boasts Georgian character throughout with high ceilings and stone fireplaces. It’s situated in the heart of Colerne which was a busy military base during WW2. It is within the boarders of the Cotswolds and a short distance from the Historic Georgian city of Bath and other surrounding market villages such as Lacock and Castle Combe which have both featured in blockbuster movies such as War Horse and Harry potty. It is a quintessential English village
The house itself is built over 4 floors with an original and usable cellar. The kitchen is generous in size and has a farm house style feel to it. The main bedroom sleeps two and the second room is a small single. Both rooms benefit from views that reach across the Box valley. The lounge is generous in size with a usable fireplace. Here is where you will find the sofa beds that can sleep two people. In total the house can sleep 5 on request. There is private off road parking to the rear of the property that you access from the main road on Silver Street.
Colerne village has two pubs that serve food, a local mini market and post office/paper shop. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday there is a cafe located near the church in the old school house. The village has direct bus links to Bath and Chippenham and are both within 29 minutes drive.
  • A lovely place to stay , nice village and very near to lots of places of interest.I would recommend a stay here!!

  • Great place near to Bath and in a stunning village. House was spotless and very comfortable for our stay.

    Jo2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The location is in an adorable village. We enjoyed walking around the village and looking out the windows on the top floor. The house had a large kitchen complete with laundry services. The top floors had a comfortable living place and quaint bedrooms. There was plenty of room for our family of four.

    Cynthia Gabriela2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay, roomy, airy and clean. The large kitchen diner on the ground floor is a great space to eat and socialise and the bed is very comfortable. A very enjoyable trip.

Barley is one of two newly developed apartments, in the heart of Box, a popular village only 15 mins bus or drive from Bath. In a previous life, the building was a skittle alley for The Lamb Inn but that rang time in the 1960s and is now our home. The units are a mix of country and modern, with oak beams and doors and atmospheric lighting. The aim was to create a stylish, light and comfy space with a homely feel, attention to detail and a little touch of luxury. A welcome pack awaits you.
The private entrance is up five stone steps and through the left hand oak door. The hallway leads through to the living area with a fully fitted kitchen, sofa-bed, DVD TV and a dining area. A comfy window seat offers a great spot to sit and enjoy views across the valley. Through to the bedroom and a 1200 pocket sprung kingsize bed, with 100% cotton white linens, will see you sleep soundly. This can be split into two singles if required. The corner wardrobe has generous hanging space and room to store cases. You can choose to lie in bed and star gaze through the skylight, or use the remote control to operate a blackout blind. There is a wall-mounted smart TV for late-night movies or lazy mornings. Both the living space and bedroom have sockets with USB points for easy charging. Underfloor heating is throughout. The en-suite has a 1100cm wide shower featuring a rain style and hand held shower. It also has a shaver point, heated towel rail, white fluffy bath sheet, hand towel and flannel, Cole & Lewis toiletries including liquid hand soap, body and hair shampoo, body lotion and a few other little extras.
Box is a bustling village just 5 miles outside Bath. It has a strong feeling of community and offers a local grocery shop that's open until 10pm, the 'Queen's Head' pub, a great Indian restaurant for eat-in or takeaway, delicious homemade cooking at The Birdhouse Cafe, a Methodist Church and Church Of England Church, a pharmacy, post office, hair dressers, butchers - all within easy walking distance of Barley. It also has a large, recreation ground with a cricket ground, tennis courts, football pitch, river, children's play area, toddler's play area and some stunning countryside for walks. Box woods are lovely to explore. Within a quarter of an hour's walk is The Northey Arms bar and restaurant serving excellent food and The Quarryman's Pub, a charming place with hard to beat views. The occupation of Box dates back to Roman times. It is known for its stone and quarries, Peter Gabriel's Studios and Box Tunnel, built by Brunel which is 1.83 miles long and can be seen from the bridge. The author of Thomas The Tank Engine, Reverend Awdry, lived in the village and felt the steam engines he could hear from his room at night, sounded like they had personalities. The stories begin! You can easily enjoy time in the village itself but most visitors will probably want to explore a few miles around too, with Bath, Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon and Lacock all close by and packed with wonderful sites to explore. More about nearby locations and places to visit is in the Barley information folder. Rain or shine, you won't be bored!
  • Very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Place very well designed and equipped - spectacular view.

  • Charming little place with all the things you didn’t even know you needed. Felt so nice to stay somewhere homely instead of a hotel. The place looks exactly like the pictures, decorated beautifully. Especially loved the electric sky lights and the power points with USB plugs, very handy! Breakfast was a nice touch, especially when the mornings were rainy and you didn’t feel like heading out! Every query was responded to quickly and Ray and Katy even offered up use of their washing machine (though there is a laundromat in Bath). Highly recommend!

    Paige2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay. It had everything we needed. Ray and Katy’s hospitality was outstanding. Being close to Bath as well was ideal for our weekend away. Would highly recommend.

  • Great place, highly recommended, close to Bath but also in the countryside with some great walks on the doorstep and some fantastic pubs and restaurants enroute. We parked up and didn’t use the car again until it was time to leave. Perfect.

This Grade II listed period home is steeped in history, just 7 miles from the UNESCO City of Bath. Packed with character, a large AGA is at the heart of the house - with a large private enclosed garden to the rear. This property would suit guests who want easy access to fabulous Bath and Lucknam Park for their Spa and afternoon tea. Then retreat back to a spacious cosy cottage, stunning countryside and wonderful pubs. This property sleeps 9 in two wings of this very historic home.
This beautiful house is connected with staircases and split levels throughout revealing a historic and truly unusual 15th century home. Sleeping areas are split into two halves of the house. Accommodation consists of; one half of the house a double and single bedroom, the other half of the house a king and four singles: a twin room and two separate single bedrooms, perfect for families and groups. The two lounges makes it very convenient if one half of the group want to chit-chat and the other half want to read a book. There is a downstairs WC and sink (there is no downstairs bathroom). There is a large private courtyard for alfresco dining/bbq. The Aga is the heart of the kitchen but there is also a utility room with a conventional cooker and all your white goods. This house is perfect for families and great for single groups because of all the single beds. Perfect if you are visiting the Cotswolds and nipping into Bath.
Colerne is a village 7 miles from the world heritage City of Bath. It is historic in its own right, with a stretch of the Fosse Way Roman Road to the West. Colerne is also home to three Bowl Barrows and an Iron Age hill fort from around 100BC. You are only a couple of minutes to Lucknam Park with its world renowned Spa and Michelin-starred restaurant.
  • A characterful house in a gorgeous, v friendly village. The host was brill at communicating and very responsive. A real old English house stay! x

  • What an absolute treat this place is. Although unsure initially about layout and how we would manage with 4 children, the cottage did not disappoint at all. There is so much space and fantastic facilities in the cottage. We didn’t get to use the garden this time, so have booked to go back in the summer. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

    John2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a quick booking as our trip to Lille was cancelled last min due to the French rail strikes - 9 of us to fit into a Christmas market town for my replacement Hen was going to be a challenge but the cottage was just waiting for us beautifully! We were very very lucky! Perfectly priced, perfect amount of space and just the feel we were after. The hosts were impeccable at communicating all the necessaries and the presentation of the cottage was gorgeous right down to the Christmas decorations to make the place feel extra cosy and special. Thank you so so much for having us to stay and we’d definitely recommend to others. Such a pretty village too with good access to Bath although we did rather like lazing in the cottage!!

    Colerne, England, United Kingdom

Perfect location near Bath, Colerne has been featured in the Agatha Raisin series. The village is situated in the southern-most area of the Cotswolds. Our lovely, quiet little village is steeped in history dating back to the Doomsday Book. Our fully-equipped house is a 3-bedroom and 1.5 bath. We are a short drive into Bath or Castle Combe for a lovely day visit.
Our lovely house on 2 floors has 3 bedrooms - 2 bedrooms have King (UK)-size beds (Queen (US) )while a third bedroom contains a twin/single bed. This detached house is 30 seconds walk from Colerne High Street and can sleep 4 to 5 people upstairs, and up to 6 using air mattresses located in the conservatory. A fully-equipped kitchen on the ground floor means you can stay in and cook if you don’t want to go out. You will also find a Lounge and Dining area with access to the rear conservatory and rear garden complete with patio chairs and table for an evening dinner outside. For the winter months, there is a gas fireplace for a cozy evening in.
Colerne is one of those villages full of charm, tradition, and character. For centuries, this busy village was home to 15 shops and 4 pubs. Although Colerne is quieter in modern times, the charm of this lovely village remains. There are still many families original to the area in this quiet little village. Colerne is a village where you will be quickly welcomed.
  • This place is really great and a bargain! The village of Colerne is lovely too and very quick to drive into Bath. Gina was quick and easy to communicate with and the check-in couldn't have been simpler. Thanks!

My place is close to Bath, Castle Combe, Lacock and within a country village.. You’ll love my place because of the atmosphere of quiet ambience complete with country pubs within walking distance that serve good food and all within a short car journey to many places of interest. Trimnells House has large en suited rooms that are ideally suited for sharing groups. The accommodation is on the ground and first floors. It does not include the second (top) floor or the single story side annex.
Stop here if you want a venue for a stag/hen or family stay where you don't want to worry about making to much noise or mess (within limits)! You may also want to be in a friendly village with 1 pub where landlord Stuart serves up competitively priced food, drink and often free musical talent. There are also 2 clubs that do drinks and music that welcome visitors for a small entrance fee, they offer country friendliness, and competitively priced drinks I might add. The village attracts people from the surrounding area and can be buzzing at the weekend. It is not unknown for the likes of Peter Gabriel and Nick Mason to visit 'Jigsaw' founder John Robison at his nearby home and wedding venue Euridge Manor. Celebrities often stay at Lucknam Park Hotel. Whether you see a helicopter landing or not, it may be worth a visit for their Michelin starred cuisine, often enjoyed by Nicolas Cage when he owned a house in Bath. I am told Robbie Williams enjoyed the pool in the past. Trimnells sometimes operates as a B&B (if its not booked for a holiday let) and we once had Kate Middletons parents stay here to attend a local wedding. They were turned away at the local pub for food because they were too busy and nobody immediately recognised them. That's how crazy it gets here folks! I could go on about the time a Texan billionaires daughter took over Lucknam Park Hotel for her wedding but that's another story...or how a guest bumped into local Ex Bath Rugby star Chris Lilley and went home with a team strip! Hopefully this gives you an idea of the ambience of the area. I will just mention that Colerne residents are known as Colerne donkeys. This relates to a story regarding the burial of a donkey in the graveyard with its hooves protruding. Don't ask me to explain, nor explain why there is no minute hand on the Church clock! Now to the blurb. I'm sorry if its a bit repetitive or the pictures are a bit blurred. Trimnells offers guests the chance to enjoy village life in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. They can enjoy traffic free roads whilst being at the hub of nearby tourist attractions. They can walk to country pubs in a friendly unspoiled village just off the tourist track where visitors of all kinds are welcomed including many overseas visitors who have described Colerne as "a bit of old England". We think by this they mean that locals will greet you and talk in the street and pubs and whilst some upmarket villages can be snooty at times, this is not the case in Colerne. Local facilities include golf, clay pigeon shooting, quad bikes, go karts etc. On their walk to the pub guests may walk past the paper shop and notice the aperture in the wall to the side used to allow a projector beam to pass through. Colerne's equivalent to 'Cinema Paradiso' back in the old days! There is also a play area within the village. If you want more information on some points, just send an enquiry. If you want to visit Bath you could go and see the new shiny shopping mall and enjoy the chain eateries or make use of the 'Bath Rewards Card' you will be supplied with that offers discounts on independent eating places and tourist attractions. I cant put a link here but if you search for BIGHA and find Bath Rewards card you will have more details. eg you can swim in the famous Bath hot mineral water and get 3 hours for the price of 2 midweek at Bath Therma Spa. You could also take advantage of our cheap rates if you book midweek. I would also recommend going on the Bath Frankenstein tour to find out what Bath was like when struggling authors like the Shelley's and Dickens frequented it. Guests who have enjoyed Trimnells House and gardens the most have been families and other groups who seem to enjoy the peaceful walled gardens where children can play while adults can eat and drink. Families with children have particularly enjoyed staying at Trimnells. Children seem very excited when they arrive. Perhaps its the imposing and slightly 'Hogwarts' exterior of the house which they explore energetically before moving on to the walled garden with its fish pond, fruit trees and chicken run where they find our chickens living in a children's playhouse converted into a chicken house. Our hens (~20-25) are rescue hens from battery units who enjoy virtual freedom in a large run to the side of the house. Children can feed the chickens and collect the eggs and seem to enjoy just watching them. (They are like little dinosaurs strutting around complete with the odd fight)! Another group has been Londoners, who seem to enjoy the contrast and leave with batteries recharged. People have used the house and quiet gardens as a backdrop for videoed events, as it could be for your special event. The two local pubs both offer food and one can offer outside catering. Guests may be interested to use the local pub for Hen nights and other parties. It can be found on Facebook. The Fox and Hounds Colerne. You may wish to contact them to discuss what you need including takeaway or eat in food. The Fox and Hounds have a back room that was used by a hen party complete with a male entertainer! Another idea for a party could include a boat trip down river from Bath. Check out Bath City Boat Trips on Tripadvisor. The local Michelin starred Lucknam Park Hotel offers different dining opportunity including The Brasserie. The Hotel is popular with celebrities, as is Bath. Trimnells offers large rooms (~20-30 sq mtrs) with en suites. Large off street car park. A quiet, safe location away from main roads but not far from major airports and the M4. Bath is a 20-30 minute drive to the center. We offer disabled facilities including a ground floor bedroom with level access shower. The accommodation is on the ground and first floor. The side annex and top floor are separate from the rest of the house including a separate staircase and door. Noise is not a problem in a detached house if you want to party, and there will be no noise from other parts of the house if you want quiet. Additionally, our guests can use the Bath Rewards Card which entitles them to a range of discounts within Bath including the Therma Spa and Roman Baths. Film buffs and families who want to keep children entertained may want to visit nearby Castle Combe where scenes from Stardust, the first Dr Doolittle and Warhorse were filmed, and Lacock where scenes from Harry Potter and numerous costume dramas were filmed. William Fox Talbot did some early pioneering work on photography in Lacock Abbey and there is a Museum of photography in Lacock. The village and Abbey are owned by the National Trust and preserved for posterity. Trimnells House, Colerne, near Bath, is ideally placed for combining the enjoyment of rural South West England with the delights of exploring the areas’ rich and varied history. Both Georgian Bath and access to The Cotswold Way are only 5 miles away. Situated only 15 minutes drive from the M4 we are also within easy reach of Bristol & Swindon (within 30 minutes) and Cardiff & Cheltenham (within 1 hour).
The neighbourhood is that of a country village which is generally more relaxed than a town. ie people will smile, say hello and even stop for a chat, even if you are a stranger. The village is relatively small but if you include nearby North Colerne and Thickwood then the size increases. The nearby Signals Regiment base at Azimghur Barracks with its impressive array of satellite dishes also adds to the eclectic and cosmopolitan mix as well as helping to keep the school open.
  • A very well maintained large house which is perfect for large groups. Plenty of individual beds, large communal areas and facilities to cope with 10+ guests. Sue is really responsive to messages and fabulously helpful. There is great walking country right at the doorstep and plenty to see and do within easy reach.

  • We stayed at Trimnells House for a hen do. Susan was a great host, met us on arrival and the accommodation was above our expectations. Large spaces to entertain guests, the bedrooms were spacious and clean. Kitchen and dining areas were perfect for entertaining large groups for meals and cooking together. We really enjoyed our weekend.

  • Lovely house in lovely location. Susan made us feel comfortable and welcome even knowing we might be a rowdy hen party. Perfect for a hen/stag

  • Susan’s house was amazing and so perfect for a hen do! Everything about it works and Susan is lovely and accommodating to communicate with! I’d definitely highly recommend the house to others!

  • Great for a large group. Very sociable house with as much or as little contact from the host as you want - great weekend had by all!

    Jessica2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Trimnells House for my friends hen do, there were 12 of us and we all lucky enough to have a bed each! The house has so much space and is lovely and clean, it was absolutely perfect.

    Emma2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect for our hen do. Loads of space, and very convenient for a group of 16. Beds were comfy and plenty of bathrooms made getting ready much easier, and it was well equipped for cooking big meals. It was pretty easy to arrange going into bath by taxi/driving. Susan was very helpful throughout the booking experience. Would definitely recommend for a big group trip.

The perfect location just outside of Bath but in the countryside. Our pretty little one bedroom cottage is in a picturesque village: For a peaceful break in the country and only a short journey to Bath for days/nights out, giving you the best of both worlds. A village shop, 2 pubs all a 3 min walk. Comfy & cosy, great for a couple & very affordable. There is so much to explore in the area and miles and miles of countryside walks if you choose - or just relax in peace and quiet in comfort.
Our pretty cottage on 2 floors, there is one bedroom with a King - size bed. A fully-equipped kitchen means you can stay in and cook if you don't want to go out. For the Winter months there is a wood-burner with one basket of logs supplied (November-March). We offer free fibre broadband and the Smart TV, allows you to use your own Netflix subscription. Very cosy, warm & homely. The cottage does not have a garden, however there is a small patio area with a table and chairs, perfect for having your morning coffee or that glass of wine on a nice evening. We are pet friendly and due to the size of the cottage, we allow one small well behaved dog (no cats).
Pretty little village, ideal for a romantic getaway. A hidden gem. Short 5 minute drive to Lucknam Park hotel, 9 minute drive to the Lost Orangery (Colerne), so ideal for Wedding accommodation. If booking a taxi use Steve Bye, but book well in advance. 07788 430380. Countrywide private hire. Thickwood.
  • This cottage is amazing!Everything is super clean, well equiped and absolutely lovely. We would defenitly recommend this place.Rich always answers very fast and is a very friendly host.

  • Delightful cosy cottage in a lovely friendly area. Cottage has everything you need for a perfect stay.

    Denise2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Roman cottage is a beautiful and relaxing place to get away for a countryside break. Rich was very quick to reply and being a dog friendly cottage was even better for us. The check in was seamless and the cottage nice and clean. The village is so peaceful and locals very polite. The surroundings are perfect for walks and to get away from city life. We will be looking forward to coming back soon

    Ben2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place just a short walk from shops and pubs in the village. Communication with Rich prior to my stay was excellent and he was helpful when I needed to extend my stay at short notice. Everything in Roman Cottage was as described. Very clean and cosy. Made to feel very welcome and the log burner was even made up and ready to go. Parking wasn’t an issue and there was a little wood close by for the dog to stretch his legs. I travelled on my own as was in the region to see friends and felt very secure and happy in the cottage at all times.

    Victoria2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little cottage, warm and cozy, everything we needed, beautiful quiet little village with easy access to Bath and the M4.

This self contained, peaceful annex is located above a detached triple garage, situated in a quiet rural area, down a 100m long drive. We are easy to find off the main road and there is plenty of parking space. From the front door of the annex you look down across our garden to fields. We are well located for access to the historic city of Bath, Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon and Chippenham.
The main living areas are located in the roof space, above a garage used for storage only. Two large velux windows let light in from the woodland behind. The bedroom has a window in the end wall that overlooks fields. When you enter the annex you will find the shower/wet room and toilet ahead of you and stairs to your right. At the top of the stairs you arrive into a small, functional kitchen with an electric cooker, microwave, toaster and kettle. Teabags, granular coffee and sugar is provided but bring your own ground coffee to use with the cafetiere or hob-top espresso maker if you prefer. Up a couple of steps you will enter the main living area which includes a small table that could seat four and a small sofa that converts into a double sofa bed. There is a TV, linked to basic terrestrial channels, a DVD player and a speaker that links via Bluetooth to your devices. In the room beyond you will find the king size bed, a chest of drawers and hanging space. Although we have said that the annex sleeps two, we can, with prior arrangement, provide bedding for the sofa bed and even a thermarest mattress for the floor to make a very cosy, but economical, stay for a family of four. Please be aware that there is no stair gate down the stairs from the kitchen so we do not recommend very young children. There is garden furniture for you to use and again, with prior arrangement, you could use our firepit in our field beyond.
We are located in a lovely rural area and can recommend many great walks. The Quarryman pub is cosy and only a 15 minute walk away. The village of Box, with pub, Indian restaurant and takeaway and friendly cafe is a 20 minute walk down the hill in the picturesque By Brook valley. Beautiful Corsham, of Poldark fame, Bath and Bradford on Avon are all near by.
  • I had such a great stay at Laura's place, it was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfy, even looked to see what duvet it was so I could get the same! When we arrived, Laura brought a freshly baked loaf of bread for us as well as providing some milk and butter in the fridge. Her place is perfect for a little getaway and is only a short drive into Bath city centre. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

    Nicole2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time, it’s so clean, and such a great location. The host is really lovely too!

    Evie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Laura's annexe, and it was just as brilliant as the first. Nothing had changed- not that anything needed to- the annexe was wonderfully clean, cosy and relaxing. Laura has thought of absolutely everything. It has a full kitchen, with oven/hobs/microwave/kettle and every utensil you could need. Tea and coffee was provided, as well as some butter, milk and a freshly baked load of bread which was a thoughtful + nice surprise to find in the kitchen upon arrival. The bed is one of the comfiest I have ever slept in! Location is fab, quiet and secluded with some quaint villages nearby and only a 20 minute drive into Bath centre. My boyfriend and I were able to get Uber's to and from Bath, meaning you don't have to forfeit exploring the city for a relaxing countryside stay. Will no doubt be back at the annexe for our next trip to Bath!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here! The accommodation is only a short drive (about 15 minutes from Bath) which was perfect for us given that we had a car. Dean was very easy to contact and the check-in/ check-out process was seamless. Given that we stayed on a Saturday night, we could hear some music from the pub. However, it did not keep us awake and wasn’t too loud at all - just something to consider! I would stay here again

Francesca really does think of everything, you can tell she is a fabulous host, it really did show! Carters is a former 18 th century coaching inn with a large inglenook fireplace, brass bed, set in the small hamlet of Slaughterford, a place lost in time in a beautiful area of outstanding natural beauty. This Cotswold stone cottage set in a large garden, just 2 miles from Castle Combe and within easy reach of Lacock, Avebury, Bath. On the McMillan way, Ideal for long walks and cosy nights by the fire. Down the lane from our working farm, see cows, sheep and horses grazing happily.
Carters is a two bedroom country cottage, with a spacious twin room with wrought iron Victorian beds ( with modern mattress!) they remind us of Harry Potter, a large main bedroom with brass bed the floor is a little wonky but the carpet is new, downstairs is a vintage kitchen diner leading into the lounge with a open inglenook fire and then in the hall the bathroom with bath, electric shower, WC. Into a hall that Leads out into a large enclosed garden .
Slaughterford is a very beautiful hamlet nestled at a bottom of a valley with the bybrook running along it. Once a busy working hamlet with farms and paper mills leaving many footpaths that wind there way from ford, biddestone, colerne, into the valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Cotswold stone church is nestled in our field just over the road from the cottage. Our farm is just up the road where the pigs, chickens, cows and horses live and they always enjoy a visit. Being a hamlet the lanes are twisty and narrow there is parking by the cottage but this is on the roadside. Though off street is available 300 m up the lane by the phone box. We are near to Castle Combe, Lacock, Bath, Malmesbury, Corsham home of poldark filming. The cottage is set in its own large garden, with a large lounge, kitchen diner, the cottage is a mix of vintage and antiques furnishing making a happy home for the duration of your stay. After many issues with broadband not being a strong enough signal, we have mobile WiFi that works very well.

  • Had an amazing stay at Hannah’s cottage, it was so cosy and the surrounding area was just beautiful. Hannah was very friendly and helpful, suggesting a couple of good walks for us and a great pub for dinner. A visit to the white Hart is a must.

  • A charming and characterful 18th century cottage in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The fireplace is an outstanding feature and the blazing log fire we enjoyed on a chilly late summer's evening was magical. Hannah is a great host who went the extra mile for us. We arrived on the day of the Slaughterford Fete by the church and went up to the pop up pub there in the evening, where we met Hannah and some of her neighbours, who were all very friendly and welcoming. A lot of time was taken up visiting my friend's family and we didn't have the opportunity to go on the local walks and sample the local eateries. We definitely need to return for longer to make the most of all that the cottage and the beautiful locality have to offer.

  • Hannah's Carters cottage is a lovely country cottage in a beautiful part of Wiltshire Complete with old English church opposite, cattle grazing, and a lovely back garden We were a family of four and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, as did the many who wrote in the visitors book

Located in a beautiful rural hamlet on the edge of the Cotswolds, designated an area of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty', this cottage offers generous living spaces and has been beautifully furnished with four spacious bedrooms. It is ideal for family and groups of friends wanting a quiet retreat after a busy day sightseeing. The property benefits from superb gardens and private parking for two vehicles.
This 16th century cottage is light and spacious. The entrance opens to a small hallway, which leads to the main living space. There is a beautiful dining room with a table that seats 8-10. The dining room is open-planned and leads directly into a fully equipped kitchen with adjoining conservatory with a further breakfast dining table. On the ground floor is a wonderful lounge, with bifold doors leading directly out onto the terrace and gardens. There is a downstairs shower room with WC. Upstairs there are three well appointed double bedrooms (the master has an ensuite), a family bathroom and a twin room. Externally there are beautiful grounds, perfect for alfresco dining or morning coffee.
Nearby is a selection good local pubs and convenience shops. A short drive away is Badminton Estate and Dyrham Park with its rolling acres and wild deer. Castle Combe village and race track is 3.5 miles away with its beautiful Manor and Golf Course. Lacock village and Abbey 12 miles. Chippenham 6 miles (railway station). Bath 12 miles and easy access to Bristol via Junction 18 (M4). Easy access from M4 J17 and J18.
  • Fantastic property in a lovely location. Would highly recommend. Not far from local amenities and not far from Bath at all.

  • A lovely little retreat which we found very homely and welcoming, it had everything that we needed and more. Beautiful location and scenery. Thank you

    James2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house, much bigger than we expected and a real joy to stay in. A fabulously large kitchen and dining area which meant that the 8 of us could all sit round the table for breakfast and dinner. The kitchen was equipped with absolutely everything you could want. A log burner in the lounge meant we were all cosy and warm and with four lovely bedrooms and two bathrooms meant we were not under each other's feet. We didn't get chance to experience the outside space as it was really cold (November) but we would love to come again in the summer. Great location, really quiet but with easy access to Bath and Castle Combe. Definitely recommended.

  • A great place to stay if you like a place full of character, great living space, and situated in a nice quiet remote part of the world.

    Laurence2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house, in the countryside. Farm shop up the road. Easy to find. And very clean with extra touches added like firewood. We were a group of friends and loved cooking and playing board games in the beautiful space.

    Toni2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay and explore the surrounding countryside. Very well equipped house and done to a high spec!

    Darren2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The photos really dont do the place justice. Its such a lovely warm, wonderfully decorated, comfortable spacious house. Its got character to it, and is the perfect space for entertaining. We came in winter, but it wasnt a problem! We were a bit nervous about using the dining table for playing board games (its just very old and we didnt want to damage it) , so we kept those to the living room, but there was so much space it wasnt a problem. Plenty of bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs, warm house, conservatory space for keeping boots after walking through the countryside- Dishwasher for dinner parties, little amenities such as coffee pods and shampoo available and a bottle of wine for us which was a really lovely touch! We were a group of 7 and 2 dogs, who all had a lovely time. Views were beautiful in the morning with the mist, and there is a great walk down to the local pubs which we would recommend. Loads of things nearby/places to see etc. The only thing I would say, is the garden has quite a low wall next to the road, so just keep doggies on a lead if you're unsure, but there's plenty of countryside nearby to walk in! Parking for 3 cars squished up against each other, but wouldnt fit any more in. For us it wasnt a problem though! We thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will most certainly be coming back! Would highly recommend! Quick responses from the hosts who were very friendly, and answered all questions with no problems :)

Suitable for a couple, self contained studio annexe at rear of our house. Quietly situated yet convenient for local amenities, buses, walks into Bath and lovely country walks. Own parking, entrance, wi-fi (intermittent occasionally), heating, hot water and small courtyard. Includes hallway, king sized (queen) bed, bedside lights with USB chargers, en suite bathroom with walk in rainfall shower, kitchenette with small fridge, kettle and toaster, hanging rail, drawers, table and two chairs.
Our house is at the end of a long unlit paved drive which takes you down into a Cotswold valley, so you will see deer and pheasants and hear owls calling in the night. Yet it's only 15 minutes by bus (regular service until late) into Bath or you can walk to the station in 30 minutes. We have great pubs and shops nearby as well as many walks on our doorstep. Due to being in a valley, it's uphill to leave the property. There are five steps with a handrail down from the private parking area to the annexe, which are lit; the parking area and the entrance to the annexe are lit. Mobile phone reception inside the annexe can be poor. Wi-fi can be intermittent.
We are located in the Cotswolds AONB with peaceful views yet within 30 minutes walk of Bath Spa station. At the top of our drive is a footpath that you can use to easily reach our local free house pub, The Cross Keys or the famous community owned pub, The Packhorse in South Stoke. Or walk along it to the other end of Combe Down and the National Trust's Prior Park, to the start of Bath Skyline walk and access to the cycling and walking route through the mile long old train tunnels under Combe Down. We can recommend a number of country walks starting from the annexe out into Somerset.

  • Lovely modern property in a great location. Jenny was very quick to respond to questions and made the whole trip very pleasant. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a few days away.

    Jessica2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny provided a top-level Airbnb experience. We were so happy with our overall trip and Jenny’s guidance was much appreciated. The pictures are accurate. The house is down a hill from the main road so, be prepared for a bit of a walk. Very comfortable bed. There is a city bus that takes you right into Bath-City Center, making this place perfect for visitors new to the area.

Our en-suite attic room is perfect for couples or single travellers who want to be close to Bath City Centre. The room is very light with lots of windows and views over the local area, with lovely Victorian terraces. The city centre is a 20 minute walk or a short bus journey away.
Our house is in the Oldfield Park area of Bath. There is a bustling row of local shops 2 minutes away with bars, cafes and plenty of local shops.
  • Wonderful place and so close to town and attractions

  • Had a great 3 night stay here! The room itself was spacious and really bright. I was surprised at the amount of local amenities in a residential area, the co-op round the corner and Indian a few minutes walk away were perfect for us. James and his family were great hosts, and I’d check his availability first if ever back in Bath. Also excellent value for money.

The room is comfy with a super cosy bed and the bathroom sparkling clean. A lovely touch to have the breakfast cereals and tea/coffee available in the morning.

    Elaine2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Only stayed for a night, but it was lovely. Nina is a great host; she replies quickly and her instructions are very clear. The bed was comfy, and both the bedroom and bathroom were very clean.

    Doug2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nina is very attentive host, the space was clean, comfortable and stylish. I would absolutely recommend it! However, not too close to the city centre or university, the bus is always needed and sometimes it comes only every 20-30 minutes so that’s the only down side I faced but that’s obvious outside the host’s control.

Hi! My place is a newly converted, self contained annexe to main house. It has its own front door (you may let yourself in via Key Box) suitable for a single person. Situated in the village of Combe Down, just 1.5 miles (albeit up a long, steep hill!)outside Bath, and 1.5 miles from Bath University. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, with single bed, en-suite shower room, tea and coffee, mini fridge, microwave, and WiFi Continental breakfast supplied on your first morning.
Parking available on driveway, right outside your accommodation.
Combe Down has excellent transport links to Bath and to Bath University, both of which are about 30-40 minutes walk away, plus there’s a frequent bus service to both. Combe Down has 3 pubs, shop, deli, 2 churches, chemist, and lots of beautiful, accessible walks, all within 5 minute walk
