Great little place and location. Perfect for a little getaway. Nicole was very quick with responses and a great host! We would definitely return.

I just loved my stay there! I felt very safe; the room and entrance was private, clean, and it honestly felt like a home away from home. The colors in the room are enjoyable and comforting, and there are really nice pieces in the room; I was greeted by a nice area to store food away, a nice set of antique furniture to place my personal belongings on; a lovely bathroom and chandelier. The room carries on motifs from the original house. Also, the location is so convenient, and in an affluent area of Cobourg. It was quiet, and Nicole was super fast and personable when responding to any questions - she charges very reasonable rates! I look forward to my next work trip there!

Nicole's guest suite is so lovely - very comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom, beautiful setting with big garden, and close to everything - shops, restaurants, attractions and the beach. Love staying in this beautiful stone home in one of Cobourg's heritage neighbourhoods. Nicole is always very hospitable and a great communicator. Everything we need for a great stay! This is the third time I've stayed at one of Nicole's properties. My experience is always amazing. Nicole is quick to respond to any communication. She is attentive and goes out of her way to create a great experience from checking in to the little extras in the room. This accommodation was made better by the super comfortable bed, the amenities such as tea and coffee along with a great workspace. I will be back!

Nicole's place is great. Its clean and quiet and like a home away from home with lots of little extra touches. This isnt a cookie cutter hotel motel stay. Its in a beautiful historic home within walking distance to all amenities. I will be a return guest for sure.

Great place to stay very clean

We loved the place and how secluded it was. Even though it is in the lower half of the house it sure didn't feel like it with all the windows and the beautiful stone walls. Nicely decorated. The kitchen was fully loaded with everything we needed, and the bathroom was gorgeous with good water pressure. We definitely would recommend this place and would love to stay here again! Thanks Nicole for another great location.

We arrived and were greeted by Tony. He welcomes us, gave us a tour and some great advice on the restaurants in town. We loved the space, it was very cozy and comfortable. The spaces are well appointed, and the fireplace is especially nice for a winter night. We were visiting St. Anne's Spa the next day, and it is a short 15-20 minute drive along the 401. Thanks for everything!

This was the absolute best Air BnB I've ever stayed in. I stayed around the holidays and walking into the home was like walking into a Hallmark Christmas movie. It was so incredibly cozy with so many lovely personal festive touches. The fireplace was so nice to sit around and watch the TV. Shelley's husband met me and showed me around the place. It was a larger space than I had expected and was incredibly clean. You can tell they have put a lot of effort into making it stylish and tidy. I didn't end up using the indoor pool, but that is a definite perk as well. There is a restaurant next door and plenty of options to drive to in a matter of minutes. I cannot wait to go back and stay here again. It felt like a home away from home. Definitely recommend during the holidays too to get yourself in the Christmas spirit!

Nice place as always

Beautiful, cozy cottage in a very convenient location - it's within walking distance of the beach as well as numerous restaurants and shops on King Street. It's also a relatively short drive away from the bigger stores such as Walmart and Metro. The place is as lovely in person as it is in the pictures. Sue was a very helpful and responsive host and we loved our stay here, highly recommended for any time of the year.

Our girls getaway was so fun and this place was more than what we expected. We loved the decor and uniqueness of the place, felt comfortable and cozy by the fireplace watching Netflix, and on top of that appreciated the cleanliness and all what was available for us (the coffee was delicious). I'll definitely book again and totally recommend. The tips for restaurants was also on point, we tried a breakfast place that Sue recommended and had a great experience.

Sue’s cozy cottage was a pure delight. Sparkling clean, full of interesting and beautiful things, stocked with everything we needed for a great getaway. Even in the winter, the short walk to the beach was wonderful.

Sue's place is exactly as shown in photos. There has been a successful effort to create a unique ambiance with the right balance of modern convenience and period decor.

This is a terrific place to use as your Cobourg base and getaway. The interior is both cosy and spacious and it's most welcoming.. with lots of nice touches to make it feel like your are escaping.. and not simply "crashing". The Beach/Boardwalk is just steps away and it's an easy walk into the charming downtown. Sue is a wonderful and responsive host.. I can't recommend "Custard Cottage" highly enough.

You will love The Carriage House on King in charming Cobourg! The hosts are warm, friendly and responsive and their place is very modern, clean, private and cozy...with an adorable enclosed yard to cook on the grill or sip some wine by the firepit or by the indoor fireplace if you prefer. Really enjoyed our two night stay and would not hesitate to go back again. It's perfectly situated to easily walk to all the shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, sights, harbour and waterfront beach areas of Cobourg, yet tucked back off the main street enough to offer a peaceful night's sleep. Parking was right at the door for easy check in and out with trees surrounding the property making it all the more quaint and quiet. The Carriage House on King was a memorable stay!

Modernly rustic. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed in.

This is the cutest place. We’ve stayed twice now and couldn’t ask for a better experience. Anita is super responsive and accommodating, just great to deal with. Check-in is so easy. The place is very well cared for, wonderfully decorated and has everything you need. It’s clear they put a lot of love and personal touches into it. I mused several times about how I’d like to just move in and never leave. Having a place which is happy to have dogs is also life changing, though you would never guess it was pet friendly from inside, it’s spotless. We just love this little gem.

The renovation of the upstairs apartment is lovely - old wood floors, exposed brick and a new kitchen. Love the sloping ceilings. The space was perfect for our overnight stay.

Loved this Airbnb!! Anita was very accommodating, friendly, quick response times and is definitely a Super host. This Airbnb was exceptionally cozy, clean and well organized (laminated instructions throughout the Airbnb), not to mention easy access with parking. It had all the amenities necessary and more!! We are retired homeowners and enjoy staying in a place where we feel at home, this Airbnb fulfilled that requirement. As mentioned in previous reviews, there is a train that passes through Cobourg but it can only be heard if you are a light sleeper although it is a no whistle blowing area, just the train passing through, other than that this would not deter us from staying here again. We will be back and would recommend Anita's Upstairs apartment!

Not all b&b's are as excellent as Mary Lou's Go Lightly; The mattress was superb; the bathroom a pleasure and the ease of access in and out could not be better. Close to the center of a charming town. The price is also affordable.

Mary Lou is a lovely person and a great host. Her house is on a quiet street within walking distance to downtown and the beach which is so convenient. The rooms are filled with beautiful artistic touches. The bedroom and bathroom were top notch and the bed was so comfy, I slept in til 9am! Her 2 dogs and cat are friendly and well behaved. I would definitely recommend Mary Lou's place to anyone staying in the area.

This was an amazing stay. I cannot drag out enough superlatives. My timing was a moving target as I was caught up in a blockade of the railroad q tracks, and Mary Lou was extremely flexible. I ended up spending a night in Toronto that was booked in at Mary Lou's and she graciously permitted me to stay a night longer than originally intended. When I finally was able to arrange a ride home she drove me to the pick up point. I will be going back to Cobourg more often and Mary Lou's will be my first choice for a place to stay.

What a lovely place to stay in Cobourg. We were warmly welcomed by Janet and Frank who are great hosts. It was amazing to stay in this beautiful, tastefully renovated historic home, right downtown in a heritage neighbourhood. Bright and airy, spacious, very clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed. Steps to shops, cafes, restaurants, museums, and a short walk to the ecology garden, marina and beach. Friendly and responsive host. House has a good mix of modern design in a heritage house. Location is very convenient to the main shops, library, museums, and beach.

Janet and Frank were friendly and very attentive. The place was fine, could use additional touch-ups to complete their renovation. The place was nicely decorated; it felt like a summer house. The only actual hooks to hang clothes, etc is at the front door, it would have been nice to include some kind of hanging closet space. We hung our clothes on the molding and stored them in the three drawer organizer. The TV was great, it had Netflix, and we quite enjoyed watching some movies during our stay. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom has a shower stall, and we had to be careful because it could get extremely hot or cold. When we stayed, there was a family staying in the next apartment (of the same house), and they had at least two kids. Every morning we were woken up by their kids running across the floor upstairs, and up and down the stairs. If you are planning to do some work during your stay, I would make sure that the place is quiet. The location was fabulous, less than two minutes from eateries, shops, and a short walk to the beach.

Our stay with Janet and Frank exceeded our expectations. Janet was so accommodating with our requests and went above and beyond the call of duty. This is a beautiful heritage home with modern amenities and a backyard to die for. :) It's also the very first Airbnb that I have stayed at offering a continental breakfast! Plus coffee and tea are available throughout the day. This makes staying here an incredible value. Downtown Cobourg is at your doorstep (it's a quiet town), with the beaches only a few blocks away. Definitely added to my fav list of places.

The terraced house is located in an emerging development area. The apartment is brand new (10/2019). Taiwo is a completely uncomplicated and friendly host. Bedroom and bathroom with tub shower and toilet are only for and guests. Kitchen is communal. When we come back to this region we will surely come back to Taiwo requests.

Cobourg Charm lives up to its name. Quaint location just outside the downtown area but absolutely nearby where you can walk into the main square. Helps when you are walking back particularly after a good dinner. The creek area in the backyard is absolutely delightful and adds a lovely charm to the place. Definitely recommend Donna and the Cobourg Charm to future travelers.

We loved everything about our stay. Marsha was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond any of our expectations. She provided coffee which is already so kind but went even further with water and juice. She even gave us delicious muffins. It was very clean and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. The back garden was so peaceful. It was so nice to enjoy our morning coffee watching the squirrels and chipmunks. I can’t say enough about Marsha and this wonderful place. Highly recommend!

Very spacious with lots of amenities and nice outdoor space for morning coffee. Downtown is a short walk along the river.

This is one of the very best bandbs we have ever stayed at. The kitchen area is spacious. The bathroom and living room are just right. The comfortable mattress and the quietness of the neighbourhood helped us sleep very well. It's only a half a block to the river where a trail provides a short and pleasant walk to the downtown core. Marsha has created a wonderful space for her guests.

This is a gorgeous high end open concept home, beautifully finsihed in every detail. The view from the windows facing the water is stunning and we loved every moment.

I cannot express more but our weekend at this beautiful cottage house was a dream experience. It is a beautiful space with large lake facing windows. I could see the sunrise from the living room and views were just surreal. I ll give the this place, the host and their hospitality 5 stars and an extra star for being the most considerate host ever. Its a fully equipped kitchen with everything you can possibly imagine. The house has character and the interior designs are modern with details while giving the space a warm and welcoming feel. The house is fully loaded. Bose entertainment system to designer toiletries. The bedrooms were unimaginably clean and beautiful and comfortable. The neighborhood is very peaceful. This house will give you an expensive feel for such a decent price. All the guests took inspiration from this house and left positive, satisfied and happy. I will recommend this to others and go again. Loved it loved it loved it.

Mary's lake house its fantastic. Waking to the lake view was one of my favourites. The house was sparklin clean, and it offered alot of amenities. We had access to a very well stocked pantry, and the piano was a highlight. The outdoor space is big with a firepit for campfires. The sunset was incredible and the afternoon walks around the neighborhood were exquisite. We will highly recommend this place. P.s bring charcoal for the bbq. 😁 Thanks Mary

Really beautiful spot! The location right on Lake Ontario is really gorgeous. Super stylish and well maintained inside. A bottle of white wine was left for us by the hosts :) We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Dionna’s Little Gem was truly an experience . The house has a definite flare that makes your stay truly enjoyable. We were do in Cobourg for my daughters wedding and Dionna helped to make accommodations for us due to a unique family situation that just removed any stress would would have otherwise had. The home super clean , very unique in the hidden rooms, one which we did not find ( 👍 ) , and the unique decorating. The weather was not accommodating enough to enjoy the massive decks outside only steps from Lake Ontario but from the large picture windows in the living room and kitchen we could still enjoy the view. I would truly love to come back again when the weather was nicer to take advantage of the outside. Great owner who responded quickly to all my questions . You can go wrong with this “Little Gem “

Cute little getaway just a short walk from the beach. Dionna was an excellent host and responded quickly to all messages.

If you are looking for a location to go and relax that is close to the beach, then look no further! You are directly next to a private beach, however this beach is rocky and not sandy but Dionna's place is a 5 minute walk from the main Cobourg Beach which is fantastic! My family and I really enjoyed our time here and spent our days relaxing at the beach, done a few outings and enjoyed the fantastic views of the lake from Dionna's place. We were pleasantly surprised by how much space was actually in the home and everything that you could need was here.

Dionna’s place was just as described and right near the water, about a 5min walk to the public beach access. Loved that we got a nice lake breeze through the windows. Tons of indoor space, and the bedrooms were located away from the main living area and kitchen which helped reduce noise. She also went out of her way to meet up with us afterwards because we forgot an item at her place!

Dionna has a beautifully decorated home in an amazing location that is easy to get to. It was pretty hot out when we stayed so we really appreciated the central air. A great, comfortable place to stay!

Amy is such a great host, very quick responses and an outstanding place. Super cozy and comforting in a quiet area of Cobourg. There's also the cutest cat living around the airbnb, who was very charming. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a weekend away :)

Cute apartment. The bed was super comfy! A stones throw away from everything you would need. Despite being on top of a retail store, it was very peaceful and felt private.

More then what I expected! Very clean, well decorated in a nice area for a good price. Both Janet and her husband were easy to get along with and talk to. Whenever we had any questions they were quick with responses. Would defiantly stay here again :)

Janet is an awesome host. Her place was incredibly comfortable and I felt very welcomed! After a long day of biking from Toronto to Cobourg lit was so nice to be able to relax in such a nice place. The complimentary breakfast was great too!

Janet, what an amazing host. Attentive, caring, puntual, welcoming, warm, generous. Her home is great. My almost 10 years old daughter and myself absolutely loved it. The pool, the terraces, the bbq, the rooms, the kitchen..... all we needed to rest and bond was there. The warm, bright energy was there to make our trip outstanding. Janet’s historic home was beautiful, clean and the heated pool was fabulous! Sooo close to the beach, stores, and restaurants. BBQ was large and worked great!The fire pit and gorgeous patio furniture was the perfect gathering spot for our evenings! I would highly recommend to stay at Janet’s place to experience the historic feel alongside the warmth provided to guests. Speaking with hosts was with comfort and easy! Very family-like inviting home and I cannot wait to return in the future to this place or one of Janet’s other listings. Thank you, we had a blast!

Thank you Janet for opening your beautiful house for us. The pictures do not really show how amazing this house is. The style, the furniture, super clean. All the bedrooms have this built in fan in the windows that really keep you cool and fresh. The bathrooms are wonderful. The shower in the master bedroom is renovated, gigantic and super nice. The outdoor areas are terrific. Pool is large with a nice shallow area and deep end as well. Long enough pool for swimming. BBQ is nice, very good quality. The house also has a patio facing the pool with nice sitting area, also covered in case it rains. The location is great, right in the downtown area, 10 min walk from the beach. And I can go on and on with all the perks that this house has. We will definitely come back. Last but not the least thank you so much for allowing us to check in earlier due to the storm and for the super nice bottle of wine and the tray of cheese & fruit that you left upon arrival. Thank you !

We had a great stay!!

Our stay in this historic home exceeded our expectations. The home is beautiful with it old charm and touch of modern finishes inside. All the bedrooms were large and spacious. There were 2 good size bathrooms in the house. The washroom on the main floor was large and wheelchair accessible. The kitchen was nice and the kitchen had a good view of the pool. The family/living area was very spacious and had doors that opened up to the back deck by the pool where there is a gas fire pit that we enjoyed making smores. The pool was amazing! It was heated nicely and had a shallow area for the kids to play. It was definitely one of the highlights of the house. There are 3 televisions in the home. 1 in the main living area and 2 bedrooms had one each. All connected to Netflix just fine. The showers in the home were also a hit. The master bedroom has two showers in one enclosure. The rain shower had low pressure but the adjacent one quickly makes you forget all about it. The wall sprayers and shower head pressure was wonderful! I didn’t personally shower in the other bathroom on the second floor but I was told by others that it was nice. The house is located about 10 minutes (maybe 15 with little ones with little legs) from the main beach area. It was a great location as you were away from the busy traffic but only steps from shops and the beach. Janet's property manager, Ashley welcomed us with a smile. She is an easy going host and a pleasure to deal with. She went over everything about the house during our check-in. She was easy to contact if we had any question or concerns. Thank you Janet and Ashley for your hospitality. The property was a wonderful place for us to make lasting family memories. It was a great trip and we look forward to visiting again. :)

We had a great stay, love the privacy of the pool and backyard space.

Janet's home provided a perfect weekend getaway for our young families with 3 toddlers. The house is very spacious, cozy and full of charming and beautiful personal touches. Although you can see some evidence of ongoing home improvements, we nor our kids were affected by them. The outdoor space and pool is wonderful and can make you easily forget that you are located on the footsteps of downtown Cobourg, close to restaurants and shops, and a only stone's throw away from a gorgeous beach. Janet herself was very warm, helpful and quick to respond to inquiries. We will definitely be back ...

The fact that this is our 2nd visit to the Shining Bee should speak volumes about what I think of an opportunity to stay here. It is my go to venue for when I visit the region. Visit just once and other hosts will have a difficult time convincing you to book their venues. I will definitely be returning if someone hasn't already booked my dates.

Very cozy home with a very gracious and friendly host. Lots of good food for breakfast and very accommodating for coming and going. Pets in the home that are friendly, but not too intrusive.

Starr is a lovely and warm lady. She has a very lovely home with one cute dog and one adorable cat. She provided us local travel tips before we came to the place. Her place makes us feel like home. My friend and I will definitely go back at summer.

Last week, my fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful apartment. The place was very spacious and clean. Chris was an amazing host. He was quick in responding to any questions we had for him regarding our stay and he coordinated very well with us. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone travelling to Cobourg. Place is sparkling clean and exactly as described. It was a very nice touch to have supplies provided for tea/coffee and toast and a few snacks and fruit as well. Very specious and a perfect place to stay if you are visiting Port Hope!

My friend and I planned a weekend getaway to Cobourg, mainly for the beach. I did my research and since I was only able to book a few days in advance, it is fortunate I found this gem! Yanling was polite and friendly in her messages, following up to the one night stay. The check-in process and seeing our room briefly before heading out was straightforward and a delight to view! When we returned in the evening, Yanling was welcoming and helpful. She was kind and also mindful of privacy though her company is comforting along with conversation was short and sweet. I truly wished I stayed more than one night so I could enjoy her lovely place! Many thanks to our host, Yanling - if anyone I know is looking for a spot in Cobourg, I have found the person.

Yanling is a gracious host that is easy-going and interesting to talk too! She’s been on adventures around the world. The house is very clean, with a shared kitchen that is fully equipped. Access to the key is accessible via lockbox. The central air was perfect on the hot weekend I was visiting and made for a comfortable sleep in a quiet, private bedroom with ensuite.
