Pine Valley is located in the heart of the Mark Twain National Forest. It is set on 43 acres of beautiful green pasture and woodland. On a New Moon night the Milky Way is a vivid sight. Our farm is a spectacular viewing area for meteor showers. Here are just a few more things in close proximity: Dillard Mill A red mill set on the blue waters of Huzzah Creek is as pretty a picture as there is in Missouri, and that’s the setting for Dillard Mill State Historic Site. Viburnum Country Club Located just north of Viburnum, Viburnum Golf and Country Club is one of the Missouri golf community's true hidden gems. The unique scenery helps new players relax as they enjoy learning the game, while the multiple tee lengths creates an experience that will test even the most experienced players. Red Moose Vineyard Red Moose Vineyard is a family-owned vineyard, conceived upon the belief that with consistent hard work and attention to quality on a plant-by-plant and bottle-by-bottle basis, great tasting wines can be crafted and shared. It offers great wine, enticing views and a scenic, serene spring. Viburnum Trend Riding Area The Midwest Trail Rider’s Association offers trail riding for OHV vehicles in the area. Located in Bixby, MO, the VTRA facility is open the 3rd weekend of every month from March thru October. Huzzah Creek This clearwater gem is a tributary to the Meramec River. The angler will find the Huzzah a pleasant and profitable floating-wading stream. Nearest floating outfitter is a 45 minute drive. Or just take the half-mile trail at the entrance of Pine Valley to reach the Huzzah for swimming and fishing. Mark Twain National Forest Pine Valley is nearly surrounded by The Mark Twain National Forest and has a wide range of popular recreation opportunities. The forest has over 750 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and motorized use. The trails vary in length and difficulty.
  • There's great hiking nearby, but the cottage is also extremely cozy and has a bunch of books and movies in case the weather's bad. Jay was always very kind and responsive. I wish we could've stayed longer than a weekend!

    Lauren2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. The cottage was clean, cozy, and fully stocked with everything we needed during our stay. Jay was friendly, helpful, and extremely hospitable. Dillard Mill is a beautiful site and just a short 10 minute walk from the cabin, providing a nice day's hiking and sightseeing in the forest. I can't recommended this place more strongly!

    Myles2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean, very cute cottage. We didn't get to interact with anyone in person, but written communication beforehand gave us everything we needed to know and more. Would highly recommend walking to the mill and the river, and there were thoughtful things indoors too - puzzles, cards, movies, and a bed/towel set aside specifically for the dog. She LOVED being a country pup for a few days. Thanks again!

    Taylor2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Cozy Cabin was amazing. We took a quick walk to the Dillard Mill (only about 6 minutes away) and it was absolutely beautiful. The cabin is located on a beautiful property with the occasional wildlife sighting. I would love to come back and stay again.

    Clara2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts! Attentive & quick to respond. The cottage was cute & clean & had everything I needed plus more. The private trails were great fun to explore. It was a 10 minute walk to Dillard Mill. I look forward to returning soon!

    Jessie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to get away for a couple days. Had WiFi the entire time in the premises but definitely tried to avoid it. Trails are fun and the dog was in the dog bed the whole time in the house. Great kitchen to cook in with all the necessary tools we needed including a steamer for our veggies. Fun place. We would definitely come back!

    Ryan & Amanda2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This trio was responsive and courteous and the place was exactly as described. I arrived at night so they left some property lights on and the fire pit was ready to go for when I finally made it. The bed was a little stiff for me but I'm a softie with my mattresses. In the end, it was no big deal. The place was clean and because I was there in late-Fall, Early Winter I had the property to myself in the evenings and nights which allowed a quiet and calm atmosphere to enjoy with the passing deer. Would absolutely come back during the summer.

    Chelsea2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Visited for a quick Thanksgiving getaway with my husband and pup. Everything is exactly as described and pictured. The property is beautiful (even during the dreary winter), and we took full advantage of the nearby hiking trails. The hosts were very communicative and accommodating. Since you're off the beaten path a bit, it's nice to have a full kitchen (we stocked up on groceries before getting into town) and washer/dryer. We would stay again and would highly recommend to friends/family.

Veteran-owned newly renovated river-front cabin and bunkhouse on 3 acres. This getaway is the perfect mix of woods, water and tranquility. Located 300 feet from the sandy banks of the clear Meramec River. The cabin is 10 min from the Ozark Trail Trailhead, Onondaga Cave State Park, Ozark Outdoors, Huzzah Conservation Area and the Mark Twain National Forest. If you are interested in world-class hiking, spelunking, zip-lining or birdwatching let our cabin be your base of operations.
The river-front cabin is on 3 wooded acres at the end of the road in a river bend. There is ample space inside and out to host any type of gathering. We allow tent camping and bon fires in both of our dedicated fire pits. Our private boat launch and sand bar make for a great gathering space. We welcome all responsible parties of 10 or less. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the property, but not in the main house (dog run provided). Please no cats as family members are very allergic. Minimum two-night stay. Cell reception is poor in the area, but decent in the cabin. We DO NOT have WiFi. Please print detailed instructions and enlist a skilled navigator. The cabin is stocked with most everything you would need. We do ask that you bring your own BBQ Charcoal, food/beverages and any firewood you plan to burn. We look forward to having you as our guests. We have great wading and beach-buming on the property. Tubing is not recommended on site (Please check out Ozark Outdoors).
Leasburg is a short drive “to town”. Stock up on camp supplies and groceries with the friendly folks at Delaney’s Crossing. Wet your whistle or fill up on home cooking at Skippy’s Grill. If nature and adventure are your speed, a short drive to Ozark Outdoors or Onondaga State Park might be the best call. If you really want to get out and about, ride over to Steelville and visit Westover Trout Farm or explore one the several Ozark rivers and creeks with a local outfitter.
  • Would recommend! This cute cabin is perfect for a getaway! Great for small or large groups. Do be advised that it is down a very very long gravel road that is not good for cars that might scrape on the bottom when you meet uneven roads!

    Missy2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, great communication, off grid bachelor party! Loved the cabin and the seclusion from the location! Joe is very easy to talk with and everything was taken care of pwefectly! Highly recommend for an off-grid cabin experience.

    Matt2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Joe’s cabin is amazing! My friends and I loved our stay! Extremely clean and great location. I would recommend this cabin to everyone.

    Tahmid2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was the perfect place for some off-grid relaxation. We were very comfortable as a big group, including our kids. The outdoor and indoor spaces were both great. The play equipment was a pleasant surprise for the kids and the river was beautiful. Highly recommend (as long as you have a tough vehicle and can follow directions!)

    Shauna2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Love it!

    Stacy2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Joe was a great host and was in regular contact in the lead up to our stay. The property itself was awesome and the river was a two minute walk away. There are lots of nice touches. Joe clearly showed a lot of attention to detail in setting the place up.

    Travis2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin and very clean, and the hosts were amazing. Joe was always quick to respond and very helpful. This is a perfect place to reconnect with nature and friends. Only complaints were small. The bunkhouse was not quite as inviting as the main house and the road to the cabin is almost inaccessible by sedan. Travel in an SUV or truck, let your divas sleep in the main house, and you will have a fantastic trip in a great cabin.

    Ryann2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very fun and nice place to stay and get away from city life! Loved the loft and the place had everything we needed. Definitely need a truck, Jeep or SUV to access the place! And we had a rough time finding the riverfront. Other then that, everything was great! It was like camping but not camping!

  • Beautiful place to get away, enjoy the outdoors and snuggle up. It seems the hosts thought of all the little things we might need to get cozy and enjoy our time.

    Adriana2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you are on the fence about selecting this rental: GO FOR IT!! The property is relaxing and absolutely lovely. The hosts we're extremely accommodating and it was the little things they provided like folding chairs, an extra dog bed, providing fire starters and more that really added to our trip. We didn't have to drive far to access kayaking rentals, trails to hike, or a grocery store. The outdoor shower/bath is really unique and the view from it was more beautiful than photos can depict. I can't rave enough about this place! We loved it and you will too.

    Kate2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful setting! My wife and I were looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway. We got exactly that! There is a private pond 50 yards away for you to fish in, walking distance from Huzzah River, and of course the Dillard Mill. Beautiful place and awesome hosts! Thanks again guys and we will see you next year!

    Zach2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view and surroundings. Very private and peaceful. I wish I were still there.

  • I give permission for them to share everything I have told them. Great property, good fun, beautiful Barn, remote location, Etc! Right down to the first aid box that we never realized we'd need! Super place to have our first vacation together!!

    Michelle2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Airstream was clean and had all the amenities we needed. I'm 6'4 and could walk around the camper comfortably though I did hit my head on the door once so watch for that. Location was beautiful, cows right outside the trailer in the morning were a nice bonus.

    Braxton2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was such a great place to get away. There was so much to do in a small area-trails, fishing, Dillard Mill. We enjoyed getting away from everything here.

    Caitlyn2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • My partner & I had the most amazing weekend in the Airstream. The outdoor tub, firepit, and large patio where the perfect places to relax in the morning and evening. And that view! Jay, Evan, and Elliot gave us all the info we needed to explore the surrounding area with great tips! The Dillard Mill and the Huzzah Creek (both a short walk from the Airstream) were beautiful & a must visit. The trailer itself is stocked with everything you would need to cook full meals, relax with a movie, or just hang out. The bed was very comfortable, the trailer was clean, and the AC kept it very cool during the heat of the day. We loved our stay & will suggest it to our friends. Hope to return next summer!

  • A bit off the beaten path but well worth the extra drive! The room was clean, cute and comfortable and the location is very picturesque. Kelly’s stories of the previous owners and the history of the building made it a very unique place to stay!

    Michael2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge was historic and absolutely beautiful! It was located at the end of a quiet dirt road tucked away in nature along the banks of the river. Within minutes of being there, we saw deer crossing the river and enjoyed a mystical fog rolling in. The rooms were super clean, well decorated, and we appreciated the coffee that was available for us in the morning!

    David2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful time. The room is what I was expecting from the pictures - clean, cozy, good amount of space. We enjoyed the reading and hanging out on the beautiful porch, wildflowers and went kayaking on the river. It was close enough to good restaurants and grocery. My only feedback would be that the shower head didn't point down at my head so, as a short person, was kind of difficult but I made due. Overall, Kelly was a very responsive, cool and kind host and we hope to go back again when we pass through.

    Lora2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very relaxing place

  • It’s literally in the woods but nice for a getaway if you need a quiet place. Rooms were nice and the host is great!

    Kathy2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • “Location, location, location.” Isn’t that what they say? We certainly found it at Romantic Retreat. Nestled on the bank of the Meramec River, we felt like we were “away from it all”. The beauty of it (besides the gorgeous scenery) was that we were just a short drive to wineries, restaurants and state parks. Kelly’s prompt responses, detailed directions and information about the area just made our visit more enjoyable. We hope to return with other couples and enjoy a float!

  • This place was very quiet and relaxing. Such a peaceful setting. It was also a great value. Kelly was very responsive to any questions we had. Definitely would stay again.

    Martin2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Host Kelly was wonderful. She was attentive to our needs. The grounds are primitive. Don't expect a manicured landscape. The river front view made the stay special. The room was small. The shower is tiny. No tv, no games or even a radio. This is a great place to get away from it all . The town is only about 15 minutes away. Bring snacks or other food with you.

    Annette2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rooms just as pictured, very quaint! Great location right on the river with a nice view from the deck. Only a few minutes from the town of Cuba if you need to go to a grocery store, restaurant or Walmart. Float company was right on site which was really convenient. We had a great time!

  • The peaceful cabin was perfect for our family gathering for Thanksgiving. The rooms were large, good heat and WiFi Jenna our host was lovely . Would I go back ? Yes indeed I would, just a great place to unplug

  • Awesome place. Went down with a group of 6 people to escape the city for a couple days. Out far enough to feel like you're getting out of the city. Fun old farm house. We chose to hike around the property, found some woods to explore. Found cow bones, creek beds, old farm equipment, ponds and water holes around the area. Had a little adventure through the back pasture. Built a fire, played games, watched movies, and explored everything the farm had to offer. Jenna was quick to answer all our questions, very responsive. Great time! Very happy we chose it for our trip! .

  • Location is perfect to get out of the city and unplug. Sit outside and stare away at the rolling hills and watch the cows be cows...quite relaxing. Bring anything and everything you may need with you otherwise Walmart is 50 minutes away.

    Rishad2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was exactly what I needed. I was looking for a remote location, for camping and outdoor activities with my family, and this place delivered more than expected. My children had a blast fishing in the pond little more than a stone’s throw from the firepit. The paddle boat was a unexpected bonus. The animals and wildlife was abundant. Being woken up by the peacocks was wonderfully shocking. They sound almost exactly like cats!!! The cows were a delight to watch and learn their routine. They slept in the field by us at night. The surrounding forest was a treat to explore and hike around in. There are several outfitters that can provide you with options to enjoy the rivers that flow thru the forest as well. We choose to do a river float on a raft. There is a magnificent cave, well worth the drive, that rivals any cave I’ve seen in beauty. The cabin had plenty of conveniences, even tho it is very remote. Middle of nowhere, but yet still has satisfactory WiFi connectivity. Overall wonderful time with this cabin and we would most certainly stay again!

    Jarod2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay! Close proximity to the rivers!

    Blake2019-08-04T00:00:00Z

  • A great secluded space. We’ve stayed several times and will be back again. Thank you Derek!

    Rod2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Derek has loaded the house with all the amenities, towels, washcloths, blankets, coffee pot. And all the personal touches that you might expect from someone's personal home. All the cooking utensils were there plus spices and aluminum foil and sugar. It's a little remote, so be prepared for gravel roads and read the directions closely.

  • The treehouse is remarkable, at night on the back porch seeing the many stars, the fire pit in the evening is wonderful, and watching the birds is truly amazing, great host- it’s a place to go.

  • Treehouse Too is a beautiful property--photos can't do it justice! The balcony and giant windows were perfect for bird watching during the day, and we had a great view of a meteor shower at night. Jan was communicative, kind, and patient with our changing ETA. I'm grateful for this revitalizing stay in the middle of a stressful cross-country move.

    Cynthia2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a quaint and perfect little tree house; perfect for kids and adults. There was a storm the first night and it was beautiful to watch with so many windows while being up in the trees. The view of the river, access to a nice little fishing spot and the simplicity in design were all great.

The Lodge has all the essentials of home, so you don't have to worry about all the details. It is relaxation at its best...good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
The Lodge is on a property with 5 other private cabins, all nestled in the woods. All the guests have access to our property and private creek and are free to hike around and explore. We ask that you please respect the other guests' privacy as they should respect yours.
  • This was a lovely place. Very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Loved the gas fireplace. There were 5 of us friends staying there. This place exceeded my expectations. The road looped and it made for a lovely walk down to a very peaceful creek. Would stay here again.

    Maria2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Went there for an end of summer floatie. Alison was very hospitable and communicated quickly to all my questions. The lodge is great for a family outing. Comfortable, clean and quiet. It was about 25 minutes to the canoe rental places, so in a great location. Dont hesitate to rent this property. It's a perfect getaway home! Thanks for a great weekend, Alison! .

    William2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. We had family join us from California and Florida and they loved the county setting. Loved the back yard, plenty of room for the kids to run, play ball, catch lighting bugs, and build a fire. Alison was quick to answer any questions we had before we left and while we were there. Would recommend for a group to stay here.

    Nancy2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Immediately you feel a sense of comfort when walking into The Lodge. The sectional is long enough for 2 adults to sleep comfortably. Master bedroom has a gorgeous jacuzzi tub fully stocked with bath salts and soaps. Kitchen was large, open, and stocked with dishes. We had a great time hanging out on the back porch, grilling, and sharing stories at the 6 chaired table. Great spot for a chill get together, hiking is near by, and there's a spot to go float tripping that's not very far down the road.

    Allaena2019-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge was great for our group. Everyone had a bed and pillow to rest their head on. We hope to return next year for the 100 Acre Wood Rally.

  • The Lodge was perfect! My main goal was to find a house to have family meals before my son got shipped off to Japan for the next 3 years. I could not have asked for any more then what was provided! I made some amazing meals without it taking any more time or hassle cause she was so well stocked. It was a great layout and the fireplace was such a nice touch. I would love to come back and explore sometime!

    Tammy2019-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is wonderful! Beautiful views. Middle of no-where kind of feel. The master-suite is a great, the second bedroom has 2 beds in it and a pull out, but the 3rd bedroom is super tiny. It felt like home with all the extra touches to make it comfortable

    Momma2019-01-20T00:00:00Z

Maria’s Rest is situated on 18 wooded acres and offers our guests peaceful seclusion in the Ozark hills. Just 4 miles from the historic downtown of Steelville, our guests enjoy a number of outdoor activities. With 3 rivers flowing through the area, Steelville has earned the title of the “Floating Capitol”. For hikers, you are a short drive to Onondaga Cave and Berryman Trail Floating? Garrisons is now offering pickup and drop off service for a small fee! Also check out Lazy Oaks!
Maria’s Rest is located on top of a wooded hill. The new decks gives our guests a beautiful view of the trees below and a creek that runs down the hillside.
For guests interested in floating down the river, there are three choices in the area: Meremac, Huzzah and Coutois
  • It was a great place to stay for a couples retreat and we look forward to bringing out kids back.

  • We picked Ronnie’s place at the last minute for a Thanksgiving get away. The house has a quirky layout but is full of amenities. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots, pans and pantry items. The surrounding woods were beautiful. Ronnie gave perfect directions and we found it in the dark of the night! The only disappointment was we didn’t get to use the fire pit because it was raining but there is a wood burning stove that we used to roast marshmallows. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of bedding. The flannel sheets were warm and cozy We will be back!

    Carol2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and adorable little house. Lots of nice little touches and everything we could possibly need for a weekend away. We loved playing games at the dining table and enjoyed grilling dinner one night and making up brunch in the kitchen another day. And eating out on the back deck! Close to lots of wineries and Onondaga Cave park as well as the river. A lovely getaway nestled in the trees!

    Amanda2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin tucked away in the woods but close enough to town and the float rental locations.

  • Super cute place, deck is a great addition! Awesome tip on using Garrison’s to float - they were great to shuttle us from the house to the campground and back after the float. The house is quirky and unique. It was so nice to come back after our float and have a shower that we didn’t have to pay quarters to work, actual beds and everything we needed to make dinner. We will definitely be back!

    Deanna2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This house was perfect for my family of 4. My young son’s slept on the sofa bed and my husband and I stayed in the downstairs bedroom. The house is secluded, but very clean. Everything we needed is in there. The shower is kinda small but we got used to it quick. The beds are comfortable. The decor is cute and homey. We are seriously considering staying there next time we are in Steelville!

Any way you look at it, Saltsman House is the perfect get-away. It is located in Steelville, Missouri--the floating capital of the world. A short walk over Yadkin Creek, takes you to antique shops, quaint gift stores, and several eating establishments. Or you just may wish to sit on the large porch in a rocking chair or in the gazebo and watch the ducks swim in the pond right across the street in Hoppe Spring Park. The library is also located in the park for your reading pleasure.
It’s the 20’s. The age of jazz, bobbed hair styles, radio entertainment, talking motion pictures, short skirts, the flapper, the Charlton, and art deco. This decade of prosperity and growth led Americans into carefree living until the crash of ‘29 hurled the country into the Great Depression. It was during this period that Saltsman House was built. (1923) Perhaps jazz music could be heard coming from open windows, or affordable Ford model T’s lined the roadway in front, or perhaps foot traffic in and out of Saltsman House depicted girls in short dresses, fancy hats and bobbed hair cuts. This we don’t know. We do know that the house was built in the style of art deco: from the original stained glass windows, to the kitchen cabinets with hardware, to the lavish woodwork around the doors and original wood floors. Button switches with mother of pearl inlays were still connected to the nob and tube wiring in the home. The current owner wanted to share this lovely home and so decided to make it an Air B & B. Some remodeling was done to bring it up to code, improve safety issues, and to meet the current needs of guests who appreciate an updated bathroom and kitchen, all while striving to maintain the flavor of the art deco look in light fixtures, wallpaper, and furniture.
Steelville has many fun things to do to from Onondaga State Park with its walking trail, and cave to Peaceful Bend Vineyard for your wine tasting. There are several resorts in the area which will fix you up with canoes or rafts to float Steelville’s three rivers. If fishing is your passion, there is Maramec Spring Park a short distance away. Throughout the season, there are several music venues at Meramec Music Theatre or Wildwood Spring Lodge. Farmer’s markets are set up at different locations in the town for fresh produce or original art.
  • The 1920's renovated home was lovely. The Host has added many touches to take you back to the era. We arrived after dark and the path is well lighted. The house was warm and we felt comfortable instantly. Our rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed the coffee and water provided. In the morning we took a brief walk across the street to Hope spring, which was a nice stroll. The host has provided history of the home and area, which added to our stay. Thank you for your hospitality, we will be back.

    Vanessa2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Saltsman House was exceptional! After floating the river for the day, the 6 of us arrived and were struck by the curb appeal. We loved the decor, the furnishings, the grounds and the location. Before bed my family enjoyed reading about the history of Saltsman House. We had a leisurely morning sipping coughing on the front porch and scrambled up some of those fresh eggs for breakfast that were in left in the fridge (nice touch) before we headed out. Thanks for the great experience, we hope to be back and would highly recommend your place!

  • Miles is a wonderful and attentive host. We loved the ATV/buggy tour of his beautiful farm. The views were lovely and the family stories were fun to hear. Milt's Place is truly charming, and we'll equipped. We hated to leave.

    Jessee2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Milt's Place is so wonderful - it is secluded and has a mile of private riverfront. We loved staying here and meeting Miles. The home has an amazing collection of art, the amenities were really wonderful. The basement was cold, but great for sleeping. I imagine that it is the best room in the house during the summer. We will definitely be back!

    Corinne2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful, and serene place. The sunrises and sunsets were real beauties. The mist off the river in the morning, drifiting over the fields seemed magical. MIles was so much more than a host. Sharing stories and touring the farm. Wonderful time.

    Michelle2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Even if the cabin and land wasn’t the most beautiful place, the fact that Miles is so friendly and helpful makes the stay even more homey. I love that the cabin can be a great place for friends and family to gather but also have enough areas that everyone can have their alone time as well. This has become our home away from home. Second time here and we will definitely be back.

    Deker And Jaci2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at Milt's Place twice, and plan to be back as soon as possible. The house is gorgeously decorated, the cows are a charming part of the landscape, and the beach is delightful. I could spend weeks sipping beverages on the screened-in porch, but real life away from the Ranch beckons. Miles is an excellent host, always happy to help and quick to respond. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

    Holly2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Miles has thought of everything. Forgot games? He has board games/cards. Forgot Kitchen utensils? Theres plenty! Towels? He has them! The private swimming area was amazing. The house was beautiful. The scenery was great. I would 100% recommend this place to anybody. Beautiful all around!

    Cole2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful farm, amazing hospitality and the most warm, cozy stay ever!

    Valerie2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • My two teenaged kids and I stayed at Milt’s Place as a quick summer getaway, and we had a fantastic time!! Miles’s has the home decorated so comfortably that we immediately felt at home. The decor is charming and the artwork is eclectic (LOVED IT!). We were greeted with some personal touches that Miles had taken the time to add, and to top that he even called to make sure we’d settled in and had all our questions answered. Hanging out on the beach by the river was fun - he’s got kayaks, hammocks, etc. My favorite part was the conversations we had that otherwise might have never happened if we’d been anywhere else. The home and surroundings are serene and bid you to slow down and relax... I highly recommend Milt’s Place!

Close to a quaint downtown, a close-by walking path to the community rec center, great barbq 3 blocks away, and a fabulous breakfast. Our authentic log cabin was built in the early 1930's and has been newly restored. Bedroom #1 has a queen size bed, antique dresser, and a fireplace. The bunkroom has one full bed, one twin bed, and a set of bunk beds. The back porch dining hall seats 12 people and has plenty of room for games and activities (we have several to choose from). There is a TV, cable, and VCR/DVD player (we have some movies too), but no internet...PERFECT! The kitchen is stocked too!

Secluded but with all the comforts. Beautiful new construction loft cabin ON the Meramec River. Three minute walk to our big gravel bar. Great for picnics, swimming or sunning. Two bedrooms each with queen beds. Two full baths. Fully furnished kitchen. Two separate sitting areas, satellite TV. Comfortable futon for extra sleeping. Covered porch for grilling or just relaxing. Fire pit for marshmallows and star gazing. Great floating, fishing and hiking on private 50 acres.
    Couples and families.
  • This cabin is way off the beating path and wonderful if you want peace and quiet. It over looks a small hill side and very quiet so you can hear nature. The cabin itself is very clean, stocked well with dishes and linens. The bedrooms and living rooms are upstairs and kitchen is downstairs. There is plenty of room for couples or a family. Also, if you need more room there is a lodge next door to accommodate a larger group. Gregg is a wonderful host and we hope to go back to his cabin in the future. Thanks for everything!

  • This house was in such a great location! Just a walk down to the river in such a beautiful section of water. Our kids loved throwing rocks in the water and playing outside, the the house was perfect for what we needed to enjoy time with family and cousins. The best part was the local float company that picked us up at the house and brought us back! Thank you so much for hosting a great weekend!

    Sami2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin on the hill just above the Meramec River is sparkling clean, has plenty of space for six guests and it is well equipped and was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay: the only thing we needed to bring was our clothes, food and beverages. Access to the river is a stones throw away. The privacy we experienced around the cabin and on the gravel bar at the river was the best I’ve experienced. Can’t say enough about the place. We’ll be back.

    Thomas2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The loft cabin is a great find so close to the river. A short walk down to the river from the cabin takes you to a HUGE gravel bar. We floated about 6 miles back to the cabin. On an August Saturday, we practically had that pretty stretch of river to ourselves. It was great being able to take out right where we stayed. The cabin was beyond expectations. Great set up. Open floor plan. Super clean. The extra shower on the ground floor really comes in handy when everyone is trying to clean up after the river. Stock up on groceries at the Country Mart about 9 miles down TT and HWY 8 just East of Steelville. Thanks for providing a base camp for a wonderful, memory-filled weekend with our family!

    Josephine2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This loft cabin was perfect for our ladies float weekend! The cabin was very clean, we had all of the amenities we needed, it was just up the hill from the river and secluded. We will definitely return to stay here! Gregg told us about Garrison's for floating and they came and picked us up right from the cabin and brought us back after the float! It was so easy and convenient!

  • Our family had a fantastic time staying at the Scenic View cabin for our float trip. The space was roomy enough for our large family, sparkling clean, and stocked with everything we needed to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The nearby sand bar was fantastic for our three boys to swim and fish and we had an excellent time just enjoying the river. Would HIGHLY recommend!

    Kyndal2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to go relax with the family! River is just a short walk from cabin, perfect location! Gregg welcomed us with great hospitality and answered all of questions face to face! We are definitely coming back with more friends and family next year! Sarah

  • This is a great cabin to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My Family had a great time hanging out on the river. The owner gave us information about an excellent rafting company that hooked us up with a day of floating. The cabin was clean and organized and everything we needed was there. Would recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy the river life!

  • Enjoyed the a accommodation. The river access was a nice surprise. We enjoyed hanging out by the river barbecuing.

  • What a great place it was better than I expected. We had a great patio, a wonderful view of the lowlands and great access to the river. Thanks again

  • We absolutely loved our stay at the Hawk’s Nest! They were super accommodating and friendly and let us even hang out at their Treehouse Too for a few hours before we left. A great location and they can provide a number for an outfitter to pick you up and drop you off at the house to float. One minor thing, not about the house but about shopping, if you need groceries don’t go to Walmart, go to Mace’s for everything and at better prices.

    Kirsten2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot, easy access to the river. Beautiful cabin, has everything you need!

    Kelly2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable and the view off of the deck was excellent!

    Angela2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at this cabin for a weekend with some girlfriends. Our float trip got rained out, but thankfully we had this great cabin to stay in! It was clean and roomy with plenty of space for all of us. The communication with the hosts was excellent. Someone met us to let us in and checked to make sure nothing else was needed...an added bonus! We really enjoyed our time here and hope to come back when we can better enjoy the outdoors (patio, fire pit, nearby river access, etc.).

    Jen2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Lodge is perfect! Everything you need is provided. Beautiful views and great private gravel bar on the river! Great for all ages! Owners are fast to respond to any needs or concerns.

  • We all had a wonderful weekend getting away for the Easter holiday. The hosts were very welcoming and showed us around the whole property when we got there to make sure we would know where everything was. They even suggested some walking trails behind the house down to the river, which we definitely took advantage of. Walking sticks were provided for walks and bird seed was provided for bird watching. These were very nice touches which we very much enjoyed. Everything was extremely clean and all amenities you could need were provided. We look forward to coming back in future years to enjoy the river again.

    Jourdain2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Heron's Nest was the ideal retreat for me and my friends. The space was clean and cozy, the kitchen was spacious, and the views from the patio were excellent. Definitely more then we expected.

  • This place really is amazing! Perfect place to get away from the busy-ness of the city, enjoy nature, and stay in a beautiful home. We had a large group come for a weekend retreat, and Wil & Dan were so hospitable in making our stay special. They really go the extra mile in terms of hospitality! Everyone in our group had a ton of fun exploring the hiking trails outside, relaxing in the hot tub, and spending time together in the abundance of hangout spaces inside the house. Would definitely go back again!

  • The space is great. We had about 16 people, no couples, and there was a place for everyone to sleep. Kitchen accommodated cooking for a large group and setting up buffet-style meals. Beautiful property, porch, and house. Many people talked about what groups they’d like to rent the house for. We had a great time!!

    Andi2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you think that this house is beautiful in the pictures, wait until you see it in person!! Will & Dan are amazing hosts, they were always very responsive every time I needed to contact them. The house is very spacious, comfortable and everything was sparkling clean. I went with a large group for the weekend and here's our top 5 about this place: 1- If you like animals, they have chickens in the backyard and they are the cutest! 2- They have a really nice balcony with lots of chairs and couches. 3- There's a pool, a hot tube and lots of reclining chase lounge for sun tanning. 4- There are lots of outdoor games and a pool table in the basement. 5- The house is in the middle of the woods. We stayed there 2 nights and the sunset is a must! It's so beautiful we would all gather outside to see it.

    Lisa2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so amazing to stay at! We had a group of 15 and all fit very comfortably with room to spare. The host is incredibly awesome and very nice! Would definitely stay here again.

  • Wil and Dan’s property was stunning. The home is MASSIVE and was plenty of room for our 13-14 guests. The pool and hot tub were nice features, as was the beautiful wrap around porch. Would recommend this property on all fronts!

    Rebecca2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures really don’t do the home justice! The home is truly something special and caters to large groups. We loved everything about our stay, including the secluded lot. Wil was FANTASTIC to work with and SO quick to respond. We will definitely be making this an annual trip!

    Olivia2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wil and Dan are Super Hosts for a reason! They were very responsive, helpful, and refreshingly personable. We so enjoyed meeting Wil at check-in, and appreciated her personality and hospitality. Willie Acres was spacious, beautiful, and so clean! We will definitely be back.

    Joy2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice location to host numerous guests - the house is very spacious. There are numerous lawn games, the pool and hot tub, lots of nice sized TVs with AppleTVs attached, and board games right on site. We had no problems cooking a full breakfast (with the really delicious fresh eggs) in the fully stocked kitchen. We also used the charcoal grill (tongs and spatulas were there). The house is off a gravel road but is very close to a supermarket/town with all supplies that could be needed. Thanks for the hospitality during our stay!

  • House had plenty of space for our large group, inside and out. Loved the large kitchen for meals and hanging out. Loft was great for the kids to hang out.

  • This house was perfect for our family summer getaway!! It held our group of 9 easily. The kitchen was full of necessary kitchen items and extras that made things so much easier. The bathrooms were great with hot water for everyone who showered at the end of our canoeing/kayak adventure. The river access is amazing and just a short drive away. LOVED IT!!!

    Carrie (Caroline)2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time. Six families total, this was the PERFECT spot for our floating trip. I got so many compliments on the find. The common area was just right for all our guests, the porch was amazing, the kids played and played and played. All the amenities were there. Can't say enough great things about this spot, would definitely consider for a repeat trip next year.

    Ashley2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect house for our 18 person gathering. Plenty of room for the crowd to gather and options for private space too. The kitchen is great, open to the living and dining rooms with plenty of cooking supplies. The river access is up a small hill and back down a larger hill to a huge gravel bar. We found the walk down easy. The walk back to the house, while short, is a bit much due to the hill. We found ourselves driving back and forth. You can drive on to the gravel bar and park for the day. We built an awning between two cars to allow for shade. Wonderful trip and we would book again! W Itttssunshine

    Dana2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! So much space, so well decorated, and super clean! All 4 families had their own space, and no one ever had to wait to use the bathroom. We didn’t even run out of hot water! This is the best, most family friendly home we’ve stayed in over all the years of using AirBNB. Be prepared to be way out in the sticks. Plan what you want to do ahead of time because everything is a little bit of a drive. We enjoyed Onondaga Cave and Fugitive Beach. We also loved the little swimming hole down on highway 8.

    Jodie2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location just uphill from the Merimac River. Be sure to bring your fishing gear and water shoes; there is lots of life in the river, and the depth and flow are super for introducing kids to tubing, paddling or snorkeling. The house was comfortable for our extended family of five families--enough space for everyone to share, with options to hide when needed. The wrap-around porch was great for bird-watching and stargazing. Beds were comfortable, and open kitchen allowed the group to socialize easily while cooking.

    Peter2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brian's place was great! I stayed there with 5 families including 5 children under 4mo -7 years old and 3 dogs. The house was essay to find, clean, and had everything we needed. Everything was as pictured. The kitchen was well stocked. The fire pit was large and we certainly or it to use. A/c worked well in the heat of the day. The river access was an easy 10 minute walk down the road, and even with high water levels had areas safe for small kids to swim. Brian was very easy to work with, and a prompt communicator. I would definitely stay here again!

Historic amazing lodge is perched right next to the Meramec River. With several suites to choose from. Ask for Mary's room for country cuteness. Whether you want to just sit in a chair in the waters flow, kayak, raft or read a book in the hammock you will leave refreshed with all nature has to offer! You can grill your dinner on the deck and a riverside bonfire. The suite is open floorplan curtain separates the bedroom and living room with daybed.

  • Super cute place exactly as pictured. Lots of thoughtful touches like board games. Kelly and her mother Jeanne were super sweet and helpful. We loved having the fire pit and deck looking over the wildflowers and river. The float company puts in and brings you back to the lodge which was so convenient and a great operation. Highly recommended, just 1.5 hours from St. Louis for a little getaway!

  • Kelly’s place is unique and fun, right on the river. We didn’t float but would live to come back and do that.

  • Kelly and her family are new to Airbnb. They have a BEAUTIFUL river-facing lodge, with absolutely stunning views and a peaceful vacation is guaranteed with them! They are the most wonderful hosts we've ever come across; they went out of their way to make calls to local restaurants for us, and arranged a fun floating trip for us too! They are hard at work on getting the entire space up and going, and will ensure you have the most pleasant stay with them as family :) Thanks Kelly (and Jeannie!), we will be back soon!

    Chandni2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly has a one of a kind setup in a very private setting just steps away from the Meramec. If you are not familiar with the area be sure to get directions. The bed was very comfortable and she has everything you need to grill out and relax on the big deck or hang by the water. Looking forward to my next trip!!

    Joyce2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly was an awesome host! She greeted us when we pulled up and showed us our room. (we got there after dark) . In our rush to head to the lodge we forgot a few items we needed for the weekend and Kelly rounded up what she had and helped us out! She was very responsive and helpful. As we were there we learned about some of the history of the lodge and it was very interesting! She had live entertainment provided by Willie Carlisle on Saturday. It was fun! We really enjoyed the 6mile float trip in a canoe through the Birds Nest. They were very friendly also and gave us a ride back to the lodge. The Meramec is a beautiful river to float! The Lodge is a Beautiful rustic place to stay. We would love to visit again! 💞

  • My husband and I needed a day to ourselves to unwind and relax and that's exactly what we got at Tamra's place. Peace and quiet. Tamra is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful bed & breakfast. Tamra is a wonderful host who made us feel at home both at her house and in Steelville. Room was clean and comfortable, house is the perfect retreat. We can’t wait to visit again!

  • A most enjoyable stay. A warm, welcoming reception from Tamra. Great breakfast! Clean and comfortable. We will be staying here again. Steelville is a charming little town -- just don't expect any "fine dining" options (albeit we'll keep looking). Thanks Tamra -- see you next spring.

  • Our stay was great and the breakfast she made was delicious

My fiancee & I currently have a spare bedroom we are wanting to rent out. Its a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment, small but it works for us & if just you are needing a place to rent for however long, you'll love it here as well & we promise to make it your home too!! :) small town, lots of tour sites in adjoining towns. Beautiful out here, we absolutely love it! We both are young, in our 20's & 30's. Outgoing, kindhearted, well mannered, respectful, hilarious, never a dull moment, kinda people!
Very laid back, cozy, and feels like home!!
Friendly people, small town, a lot of nearby tour sites.

My place is close to restaurants, river resorts, park and walking/biking trail, local art exhibits, local music concerts, shopping.. You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood, quiet relaxation on private balcony, wrap-around veranda with swing, sitting chairs and gazebo, delicious, homemade breakfast and snacks..
  • Lovely, well-curated, extremely clean Inn in a cute town. Tamra makes an amazing breakfast, if you have the time, and is always helpful. Her attention to detail made my stay easy and comfortable. I can't wait to go back next year.

  • We stayed here for the eclipse and found it through dumb luck. But even if I was given the choice of hundreds of hotels in the area, this would be the place I would pick. It has a quiet beauty and warm hospitality that we will remember for a long time. The breakfast was delicious and the host gracious. She put everything into making us feel comfortable!

    Eric2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute BnB. The surrounding view isn't great, mostly a residential area and train track. The BnB itself is very nice with individual rooms upstairs, and open gathering area on first floor.

    Donovan2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at the Inn. We enjoyed the peace and quiet on the porch and also had a private balcony to relax on. We played cards in the evening and we're surprised with home made cookies. In the morning we were treated to banana bread and coffee, and breakfast was delightful. The home is beautiful and we slept well and were relaxed. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Lazy Oaks is a charming cabin just a short drive from river floating, Meramec Music Theatre, Wildwood Springs and many other recreational activities around Steelville. Sit on the front porch and relax or fire up the BBQ on the deck overlooking a pond and 20 acres of wooded property. Planning on floating? Garrisons Outfitters is now offering pickup and drop off service to Lazy Oaks for a small fee! Also check out Maria’s Rest in Steelville!
Maria’s Rest gives our guests privacy and seclusion yet still close enough to the town of Steelville and area amenities.
For guests interested in floating down the river, there are three choices in the area: Meremac, Huzzah and Coutois
  • This is a cozy, private place out in the woods, but still close enough to get to town. The cabin makes you feel at home with all the amenities for a great stay. Outside scenery is lovely and the fire pit is a bonus. A must stay if in the area.

  • Great space with everything needed for a wonderful getaway. Cute cabin in the woods. Comfortable beds.... really the whole place is just comfortable. Love it here. Will book again for sure. So close to all the floating places.

  • This place is perfect, especially if you want to go float! Its nice and quite and has plenty of space inside and out. We brought our dog and she loved just roaming the yard! It's much better than staying on the camp ground bc you can unwind and relax!

    Elly2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • I wanted to stay near Garrison’s where the rest of my family had lodging for an annual family float trip but I also enjoy being able to have some privacy and my own shower at the end of a busy, fun day. The cozy, secluded cabin was exactly what I had in mind. The cabin is beautifully decorated and has many thoughtful touches- even locally made soap:) beds and furniture were comfy and the house is well stocked and clean! I highly recommend!

  • This is a nice cozy cabin, perfect for s quite and relaxing get away. Supplied with all the extras you may need. It is nicely secluded so the privacy is a bonus. We enjoyed our visit!

  • Tammy’s place was amazing! Our stay way so comfortable. Everything was sparkling clean. The amenities were great. We love the whirlpool tub and our private balcony. The porch and garden are great as well. Tammy prepared us breakfast in the morning which was phenomenal. We loved our Dutch pancake.

“RentMyFarmhouse” is a unique experience where you can rent the entire farm and have 160 acres, a lake, and almost 1 mile of Meramec River frontage all to yourself! Nestled in the Ozark foothills just south of the quaint town of Steelville, Missouri where country values meet rustic charm, the farm is the perfect spot for a family vacation or just a nice couples retreat! Antique Shops, Music Theatres, and several Wineries are all within a short drive of the farm.
The beautifully updated farmhouse sits above the land overlooking pristine pasture and the Meramec River. Sit out on the large screened in porch and grill or relax with family and friends.
The great thing about this experience is the solitude that comes with staying in the country. No neighbors in site or sound. But just a few miles outside of historic Steelville, Missouri to grab a bite to eat.
  • This old farm house is beautiful. But. Beyond the stay and the amenities, the farm itself is an absolute paradise. I previously leased this farm as a hunting farm from Darrel and he is nothing short of an amazing host. This farm is loaded with beautiful views and tons of animals to see!! The river is absolutely stunning. We spent an entire day swimming and floating and it could not have been nicer. We pulled our side by side to the property and used that to access all areas of the farm. The farm has 8/10 of a mile of Meremec river frontage so it makes for a beautiful short float! Our 12 year old daughter loved it! We listen to quail sing every morning, and even heard a Turkey gobble (mid summer). We were able to see over 40 deer during our two day stay!!! I was also able to shoot 3 of my rifles, the farm allows you to shoot up to 500 yards in wide open field!!! The house, and the amenities were great! Huge bathroom with two vanities, which is nice!! Big, deep tub, which my wife loved! The kitchen was great. He also had a nice double burner camp stove in the giant screened in porch. We used that to cook most of our meals so that we could spend our time outside! Was very very nice! He also has a 10 ft long solid wood picnic table in the screened in area, which made for great dinners!! (Maybe even a few drinks after) Overall, our stay couldnt have been better! We had an absolute blast getting away from society for a little while! The absolute only downfall of the whole place is there is no cell reception at the house (there is cell reception a short walk up the drive). Personally for me, no cell phone was the best part of the trip! We WILL book again.
