Sparkling clean, surrounded by fruit trees (the apricot tree was loaded with delicious fruit). We used it as home base to explore the island by car for a few days, and it was great for that. Very quiet, out in the country by yourself except for Spyridoula next door, ready to help if needed. She was very accommodating even when we first arrived late at night. Be ready for an adventure driving in Corfu - many of the two-way roads are barely wide enough for one car. After a bit we were fine but took some getting used to. Definitely need a car to access this place.

If You are looking for a peaceful and relaxing spot on Corfu that's definetely the place to stay. It is worth to rent a car to get there though. Located in the garden full of olives trees with a view at the sea located approximately 1km away from the house. The beach is long and sandy. There is a barbecue in garden. Ajax acts as an agent of the actual owner. He was very helpful whenever we wanted any assistance. Great host,wonderful place!!

If you want to be away from the crowds and experience Greece in all its natural glory- this is definitely the place. Ajax acts as an agent for the owner. He communicated excellently and made contact once or twice during our stay. The house is very clean and has a view onto the sea about a kilometre away through the olive trees. There is a small BBQ. The kitchen is small- but there is an excellent taverna a few hundred metres away. The WiFi is excellent and is quite fast. The garden is quite large and there are a few toys for kids. If you are looking for a quiet spot that is good value for money- this is for you!

Das Haus entsprach unseren erwartungen. Der grosse Garten war ein perfekter Spielplatz für unser 1,5 jähriger Sohn. Uns wurde ein Baby-bett zur verfügung gestellt. Der Ort ist ruhig und nah vom Meer und vom Hauptort Agio Mattheo. Eine Wunderschönes vom Massentourismus verschontes Dorf. In der nähe hat es einige schöne einsame Strände. Es hat uns sehr gefallen.

De olive cottage is een gezellig en comfortabel huis met alle noodzakelijke voorzieningen. Het huis is gelegen in een rustig en mooi gedeelte van Corfu, met de zee op ongeveer een kilometer afstand. Ajax heeft niet alleen via de berichten op airbnb, maar ook nog tijdens ons verblijf uitstekende tips gegeven over uitjes en was altijd bereikbaar voor vragen. De eigenaresse van het huis was heel vriendelijk, ze had bij aankomst op de late avond zelfs haar zoon opgetrommeld om voor haar te vertalen. Zij heeft er duidelijk veel moeite in gestoken om het verblijf van de gasten aangenaam te maken, en is daar goed in geslaagd. We hebben een heel relaxte tijd gehad in dit huis!

Wir waren Anfang Juni 2017 für zehn Nächte da. Es ist ein wunderschönes Haus, super gepflegt und sehr gut ausgestattet. Es gibt überall Fliegengitter, so dass man vor den kleinen Nervensägen Ruhe hat. Die Betten sind sehr bequem, das Haus angenehm klimatisiert und durch die Lage ABSOLUT ruhig. Es gibt Spielzeug. Der Garten ist groß und schattig. Mit der Besitzerin hatten wir nur zur Übergabe ganz kurz Kontakt. Aias ("Manager") war zwar persönlich nicht da, war aber ständig erreichbar. Ein Auto ist dringend notwendig, weil die Unterkunft sehr, sehr abgeschieden ist. Mit Gefährt kann man bestens die schönen Strände und Dörfchen erreichen. Das Haus wurde einmal während unseres Aufhalts gereinigt. SEHR EMPFEHLENSWERT!!!

The place is amazing, the beach beautiful and Proas helps you with anything you need.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at the house, although we only stayed for a very short time. The house is strategically situated: on the one hand on a quiet part of the island, and on the other hand it allows you to easily discover the central and southern parts of the island (we did so by scooter). The communication with Proas & his brothers was clear and kind, very nice and relaxed people, they helped us when we asked for or needed something. The fact that the house is solar powered is pretty cool (or... warm...), I also liked all the solar powered LED lamps outside around the house, and the musquito nets on every window are absolutely great for sweet-blooded people such as myself!! As for remarks: lovely view and nice hammocks, but mind that the private beach is not really the typical sandy beach to lay at, you will probably have to move to some neighbour beach for that. Also, the house is surrounded by low growing rough vegetation, it might be a detail but you'll probably need shoes/good flip flops to walk around the house. Also mind that the beds are all situated in 1 room, perfect for a couple or a group of friends, maybe less perfect for 2 couples visiting simultaneously ;). Overall a place with much potential and absolutely recommandable!

Proas helped us get to the house which is a bit in the wild. There is other villas out there (and one next door) but remote. If you long for nature this house is your call. At the end of the garden are the steps down to the ocean. we had a beautiful sunset there. The house is rustik in wood and very cool (we were there in the hot season) and spacious.

We've been welcome by Proas brothers, very kind persons, explained us precisely what we need to know about the property as well giving us directions and guidance according to our requirements/needs. The listing is situated at Corfu's west coast where you can enjoy the wild-beauty of the island. In my opinion a mean of transport is necessary. The listing is a two floor summerhouse, the top floor is the bedroom area with a wc and downstairs a lounge area with a full equipped kitchenette plus bathroom. Outdoors the scene is amazing, olive trees, flowers, cactus, bbq, hammocks, seaview, shower, sunsets, path(medium) to the shore, glow worms! Finally, knowing that you consume solar energy makes you feel better person (:

Lovely property with a trail directly to the beach, perfect for all nature-lovers. The beach is stony but you find sandy spots to swim and there are wunderful sand beaches nearby. Very friendly hosts. We had really nice conversations. My best part of the garden was the hammock under a tree with view to the sea. The house has everything you need, simple and welcoming. The neigbouring house is in view but the guests there were quiet. Hope to get there again!

After spending time in Kalami and Paleokastritsa, we were looking for a relaxing place to stay in the southern part of Corfu. We found that in Olga's place. Communication with Efie, Olga's daughter and the manager of the house, was excellent. It isn't easy to find the house based on GPS, so it is best to have Efie guide you there personally. We were met with wonderful cakes and drinks on our arrival, and the second night there Efie and her parents had an amazing BBQ for our family with enough food to feed an army. Efie's parents are sometimes in the flat below, and Efie came a few times during our stay to check up on us. Halikounas is not really a village or a town, so don't expect shops or nightlife. There are two restaurants very near the house, the best of which, Alonaki Bay, is family friendly, serves excellent food, and is right by the sea. The area is completely calm and peaceful. There are a lot of mosquitoes at night because of the lake, but repellent devices are provided. There is no A/C in the apartment, but it isn't needed, as the sea breezes cool the apartment nicely at night. The long, sandy beach is amazing - very shallow and perfect for small children. The flat itself is perfectly laid out. Three large bedrooms, a nice kitchen and dining area, comfortable couches, and three amazing balconies, one of which has a view to the lake and the sea. Seeing the full moon rise over the lake from the balcony was one of my favorite memories of all of Corfu. The yard is huge and has lots of different kinds of fruit trees and a huge pine tree that provides shade for most of the yard. The flat is in the first floor with a separate entrance, so it is very private even when the owners are downstairs. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay on Corfu away from the hustle and bustle of the resort towns, I would highly recommend Halikounas and Olga's place.

Přála jsem si na Corfu strávit rodinnou dovolenou na krásném, klidném místě blízko moře. Olga´s house je přesně takové místo, jaké jsem chtěla najít. Žádné davy turistů, nádherné, čisté moře pár minut chůze od domu - můžete si vybrat malou zátoku nebo několik kilometrů dlouhou písečnou pláž - nadchlo mne obojí! Útulný dům obklopený zahradou, z terasy domu je výhled na moře a jezero, za větrných nocí je slyšet hukot příboje... prostě romantické místo. Užili jsme si každý den. Drobnou nevýhodou je, že ve vesničce není obchod a nejezdí sem autobus. Celá rodina nám ovšem byla k dispozici a kdykoliv jsme potřebovali dojet na nákup, zorganizovali pro nás odvoz. Zajistili pro nás i transport z letiště při příletu i odletu. Miluji cestování a musím říct, že dovolená na tomto místě byla jedna z mých nejhezčích. Moc děkujeme za všechno!

We spent in a house one week in August 2016 and really enjoyed the stay. The house is very nice and comfortable. The house matches the description and in reality we found it better than we expected. All equipment was in working order. Kitchen is fully equipped and contains enough dishes and other equipment for cooking (but no microwave oven). The house is hidden in olive gardens far from resorts and touristic routes. It provides full privacy and suitable for those who don’t want to have neighbors. There are no other houses in the near. It is easy to come to the beach, shop or tavern by car. The car is necessary to stay there. Swimming pool is simple but nice and clean. We got a lot of pleasure bathing there. During our stay swimming pool was regularly cleaned. Swimming pool has no evening lighting inside but there are lights around the swimming pool. Wi-fi is working but connection speed is very slow. It is enough speed for mail and messengers, but surfing takes a long time. This is because wi-fi is provided through satellites. Vasiliki and her husband are very hospitable and communicative owners who helped us to organize perfect holiday keeping our privacy. We thank Vasiliki for our holiday and recommend this house for those who are looking for secluded place.

We got exactly what we were hoping for when we arrived at Vassiliki's home in a quiet part of the south west of Corfu. It is well off the beaten track and perfect if you are seeking some solitude - whilst being only a few moments' drive from one of the best beaches on the island. We wanted to feel like we were in the middle of nowhere and not too close to the more built up, touristy parts of the island. Halikounas beach is long, sandy and served by a handy bar on each end. Our stay was towards the end of the holiday season (mid-Sept) and by this point, the beaches were nice and quiet. End to end, the beach is a forty minute walk and it was easy to either find some room completely to yourself or pitch up at one of the bars. The house itself is lovely and spacious. Our instant thoughts were that the photos didn't really do place justice. The kitchen is well equipped and both bedrooms air conditioned and comfortable. We paid the extra for the swimming pool and enjoyed the space around it. Of an evening, the balcony area is a good, sheltered spot. One evening, we sat with glasses of wine whilst a storm hit the island much further north. Dramatic lightening flashed across the sky and it felt very romantic. We got lost on the late drive down to Halikounas but Vassiliki and her partner never lost their patience and helped us find our way, welcoming us with two souvlakis. They were delicious! It is worth noting that a car is an absolute must for this property. It is a good 15 mins drive to the closest town and even the closest tavernas are best driven to. A walk back along the rural and pitch black roads and dirt tracks after an evening of drinking is probably not a good idea! Whenever we return to Corfu, this is definitely where we will want to stay again.

This charming house is set in a very peaceful location amongst the olive groves. It Is possible to walk down to the beach, and a local taverna. The house is well appointed, tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished. The owner is establishing a garden and as it matures the house will become even more attractive. There is a BBQ area and plenty of outdoor seating. The owner very generously gave us organic vegetables from her Mother's garden and there are orange and lemon trees at the villa. This is a great place to relax and chill out!

House and surrounding was much better than the photos show. Nice and clean swimming pool. A lot of outside space where you can always find a sun on the terrace or shadow under the beautiful tree. Vasiliki is a great host, she is a very helpful and kind person, always in touch wherever you need! Thank you Vasiliki!

Rats under the roof, electric shocks and false promises! The house is potentially beautiful, nestled in the country, but looks wrecked, with dirty unmanned garden. Also the "new swimming pool" is almost abandoned, unfinished, with rust all over the stairs. In two weeks’ time, we saw more technicians and contractors than beaches. We had to cut our holiday short. Upon our arrival, despite we had been previously expressively assured that the internet was accessible, we’ve been informed that it was in fact not available. Actually, we discovered that then the connection had never been installed at all. Then we had to deal with the washing machine, which was out of order (broken by "other guests..some time before” - ! ). This was a major setback, considering also our family needs, with two kids under the age of 4. Then there was the failure of the water system in the bathroom and the kitchen.. During the day and the night, with disappointment, we heard mice/rats running up and down over our heads under the roof. The property owner did simply nothing about this (quite sadly, also due to the dangerous diseases that these animals may carry along..). Lastly, using the shower, we received few electrical shocks! When we complained, we have been told that they were responsibility of the electric company and that previous tenants mentioned the problem as well (!!!). According to the property manager/owner there was nothing to fear anyway because these were only minor discharges. We’ve then resolved to leave for good. We are not spoiled clients and lead a simple life. We were just looking for a nice place, family time and peace of mind after a year of hard work. We can definitely understand - and were ready to endure - ordinary house management troubles, but it became evident that we could not stay. The place, which was not free of course, was not as presented nor suitable for a vacation. Hygiene and safety are not a joke.

Maison de qualité avec sa piscine, propre et relativement bien aménagée. Elle est isolée, perdue au milieu des oliviers dans un endroit totalement calme. La plage est a 5mn en voiture. Il faut cependant bien s'organiser car l'eau n'est pas potable et les magasins ne sont pas à proximité. ( 10mn en voiture ...) Vasiliki est une hote adorable, disponible tant avant notre arrivée que pendant notre sejour;elle nous a réservé un très bon accueil et a tout fait pour que notre séjour se passe au mieux... ( cuisine typique, bonnes adresses de tavernas, endroits à ne pas manquer...)

A wonderful house in a gorgeous location, amidst mature reeds and the natural environment of the Korissia natural reserve, 3-5 min car ride or 10-15min walk to a series of glorious sandy beaches, and several cute little tavernas. The environment is divine for those seeking peace and quite amidst nature, but with easy access to various amenities (nearest shops are the only thing not within walking distance, but an easy 10-15 min drive to St Matthew village; great little 'super'-markets with everything anyone could want for their stay, including for cooking ones own meals). The pictures portray the house accurately, with everything nicely appointed, all amenities as expected and working well, excellent wifi, great water pressure for the showers, comfortable-firm beds, big fridge with freezer and so on. It is worth noting that, although the immediate area is free from any development and completely natural, the house is semi-detached with another, also managed by Elena, separated by a generous timber fence that offers total visual privacy, though, if the neighbours were loud one would hear them clearly. Elena is a lovely hostess, attentive but discreet, and will help with any problems or advice. A highly recommended place for those seeking peace and quite in a wonderful natural location near some of the best beaches in Corfu!

We rented Niko's villa as a group of 7 people mid October, and I must say this is probably the best deal we could possibly get in terms of value for money, amenities, communication and the beauty of the villa itself and surroundings. We arrived a bit later than expected and got received without any problem. Niko was always very prompt in replying to our messages, and when our flight was cancelled on the date we were due to travel back he provided us with very detailed information about alternative routes from Corfu to mainland Greece. He also offered to cover the costs of extra nights while we were arranging our alternative trip, making things much easier for us. Even though the villas sleeps 8 people there's plenty of space for a lot more, so could also turn out convenient to receive hosts. A car is definitely a necessity to move around but the connection to the nearest beach, shops, and restaurants is good and everything is 10 to 20 minutes drive from the villa. We couldn't have had a better experience and we are strongly motivated to book it again in the nearest future.

The most beautiful garden we have seen on the island. For us a great choice, because we wanted a private place for our family with a swimming pool for children. Nikos is very kind and helps with every problems or questions (e.g. car rental or a broken fridge changed the same day). It is less than one km to the nearest beach (with sand and stones), but I highly recommend to rent a car for shopping and visiting other places. We have spent a great vaccation, thanks a lot!

We were 6 women and we had a wonderful time in Nikos's house. On arrival we were greeted by him and Spirulina and the fridge was stocked with goodies and wine. The house itself was charming, wonderfully neat with comfy beds and furniture. Corfu was a magical island, and the magic started with the house. The house has it's own pool which is cleaned everyday. We had a wonderful time reading, cooking and recreating some of the Gerald Durrel magic of My Family And Other Animals. The car which had been arranged for us was perfect and there are are beaches close to the house. Great price for such a luxurious property.

Nikolaos made it us feel welcome from the first email. He helped with suggestions regarding renting a car, directions to his home and being available by cell phone. When we arrived it was early and they made us feel at home while they were gettig the house ready. They provided some food and wine to get us started. The home is well cared for and the grounds are beautiful. There is a short walk to the beach. We loved our dinners outside next to the pool. There was plenty of room for the seven of us. We spend a relaxing week in the middle of October. The house is a traditional old Korfu-house. In the middle of October the area and garten gives to much shadow to enjoy the sun. Therefore we spend some times at the beach. Result of the shadow there were many mosquitos. The area is very beautiful and is suitable for walking and mouintainbiking. Excellent and cheap restaurants in the area. Friendly and helpful host given good guidance on Korfu.

Nicolaos and his brother John were really flexible and welcoming. John let us in at 11pm and showed us round. He had stocked the fridge which was a nice touch. The swimming pool and garden are really beautiful. The remote part of Corfu that the property is in is genuinely Corfiot and not touristy other lovely places were also accessible by car.

Hi everyone! There were 5 of us comming for a vacation in July 2013 to Villa Rena! To sum up it's a fantastic place to explore beautiful Corfu, but to locate yourself outside of vanity of tourist trails! You should better rent a car, if you want to be free and to fulfill your vacation with maximum quantity of impressions. Wery nice and beautiful hosts (Nicos & Spiridoula) were highly hospitable: showed us surroundings, marked on map places to visit and even presented delicious home-made choco pie. Villa is equiped with everything you need, also it's cleaned 2 times a week. Vacation at Corfu wouldn't be so nice, if we haven't rented Villa Rena!

We stayed in this villa in May and we had a fantastic time. The villa is very good and clean. Despite the trees the pool get sunshine . In a hot summer must be fantastic to be under the shade of the trees. It is a non touristic place, close to the shops (5min drive) peaceful. Nicolas gave us good advise on where to eat and go. The restaurants near the house serve really good seafood and the view is fantastic (short drive by car) The kids loved the swimming pool, it is very well maintained and clean . Nicolas is very approachable and looked after us. He came to the airport to show us the way to the house , we wouldn't have found it . Corfu is amazing. There are plenty of things to do. We hired a boat from Ipsos and we travel along the coast.

Nikos is an attentive and friendly host, he picked us up at the airport and escorted us to the villa. The villa is beautiful, the pool, tennis court and BBQ were all in perfect condition and we used them every day! The rooms are spacious nicely furnished, the beds are a little firm but we all still slept comfortably. The kitchen was fully equipped with the essentials. The villa has fruit trees all over the garden which we used for breakfast! The villa is a 5-10 minute drive to the nearest shop which sold everything we need. Couldn't recommend the villa highly enough!

Excellent place to stay while visiting Corfu. Away from the crowds and busy beaches, but still very close to amenities. 15 minute walk to a nice sandy beach. The house was immaculate and the pool was clean and beautiful. Nikos went above and beyond in making our stay superb. Met us at the airport, and escorted us back to the villa. Nikos was great at recommending places to go and things to do while visiting Corfu, and responded to enquiries immediately. A highlight was the fresh vegetables from the neighbouring garden. I would definitely stay here again!

Great house, very clean. The pool is amazing. Is like a mini resort. Nikos was a friendly Host. For sure we will come back in the future to his home. We recommend his house!

Ideally located within a short walk to the beach. Villa Maxim offers all the facilities for a great family getaway. Whether it is swimming, tennis or table tennis that takes your fancy, there is always something to do. The nearby village (Agios Matheos ) also offers a great alternative to cooking with several local restaurants offering simple yet beautifully cooked food. Many thanks to Nikos who met us at the airport and for whom nothing was too much trouble. We will be back!

Une villa magnifique, neuve, tres propre avec un jardin entretenu à la perfection. On a pu également bien profiter de la piscine et du terrain de tennis, un plus agréable. L'entretien de la villa est fait deux fois par semaine. Pour ce qui est de la localisation, un peu loin pour certaines activités et notamment de Corfu City ou Kavos mais des places tres belles se trouvent juste à coté. À conseiller !!

In early June 2017 we have spent a fantastic week in Corfu. Our entire family (three children) loved the spacious and heated pool, the nearby beaches, the scenic view, the smell of wild flowers, the absence of any street noise and the extremely well taken care of properity and facilities. To complete the picture upon arrival we were greeted at the airport by Gerasimos' nephew who guided us all the way to our house. A clear recommendation for anyone seeking a place for the family that is off the beaten track whilst offering all modern amenities and that comes with a fantastic view over the Adriatic sea.

This is a beautiful villa, and although it is off the beaten track, it did not disappoint. The sunset view every evening was stunning, and having the sea in such a short distance for a swim was lovely. Our host was very accommodating and helpful, and the local village nearby has an AMAZING butcher and grocery store, especially if you want a glimpse of how the locals live. It was not touristy at all which is what we wanted. You 100% need a car (and sat nav - I used my phone) and Corfu has lots to see and do if you're confident enough to brave the roads. I'd highly recommend checking out Prasudi beach which is nearby (very small and quiet beach with a taverna overlooking the sea) and visiting Archontiko restaurant. Taxis were also great around this area.

We had a wonderful time at The Nest. The beach really is that close (148 paces!), as is the excellent fish restaurant. On arrival we were greeted by a bottle of home-made wine and a platter of fresh fish, and throughout our stay we were treated to delicious fresh vegetables from the family's garden. A perfect retreat.

Our stay at Thanos' 'nest' indeed exceeded our expectations.. it was as if we joined our family for a few days..we were offered a warm welcome, and incredible kindness and generosity.. Greek hospitality at its best... we were offered lovely vegetables and fresh eggs for our baby, as well as food straight from the family table... The owner's family went out of their way to help us when we couldn't get a taxi back to the main town by icing us a lift... if you want to relax, and fall asleep surrounded by the sound of the sea, in a place as clean and as warm (metaphorically and literally) as your own, then you must go to Prassoudi. What made it perfect for us was as follows: The great apartment - next to it (30-second walk) a taverna serving breakfast, lunch and dinner - and next to the taverna (30-second walk) the lovely sandy beach... the perfect combination for our small, toddler-run family.

The is a very beautiful spot. Great taverna next door to The Nest (with wifi) and a beautiful little beach. My daughter and I spent four lovely nights here, any longer and we would have needed a car as there is no local shop. Thanos was very helpful in directing the taxi driver as Prasoudi beach is an unmarked road. And the sunsets are worth a mention!

A lovely place with a very nice host. The fresh breeze of the sea is enchanting. Because the place is a little bit remote, transport can be a hassle..

I can just say that everything was perfect: the accommodation, the hospitality, the place and the view. If you decide to go to Corfu, this is the place where you definitely have to stay. Simply amazing!

Perfect location for a wonderful beach vacation. The house is right in front of the sea. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony a lot and just watch the waves during the day and the stars at night. One can reach the public beach within one minute. There's beach chairs and umbrellas to rent there for the day (5 Euros for two). Lots of other beautiful beaches are only a short car ride away. There are a lot of great restaurants in the area (check out Bioporos!). Since the island is not that big it's easy to explore different corners every day and also go into Corfu Town for dinner. The apartment had everything we needed. The kitchen is ideal for preparing breakfasts and light lunches. Thanos was very responsive and considerate and more than happy to help with anything. He and his parents are lovely and generous hosts. We highly recommend staying there and hope to come back.

Great spot! We enjoyed it a lot! It is a really nice apartment, and so relaxing to hear the waves 24/7. Solely positive vibe. Good contact with Thanos. Definitely one of the best airbnbs we have ever been. For sure recommended to anyone who likes to be at a more quiet and local area. Necessary to rent a car or so to get there, but nice to drive the roads.

We were met by Spiros in the villa. There was delicious homemade cake for us. We spend 9 amazing days in Corfu, walked two times to the closest taverna -around 30 minutes. A car is a must if you want to explore the surrounding . The house is made with style and it is from these kind with a soul. It looks bigger than the photos. The pool was very clean and preferred place for kids. We walked to the closest beach Kanouli, very nice beach. Thank you Spiros for the nice vacation, for sure we will meet again!

Hello everybody! I would like to say that this villa was very good for our group (8 persons). We had everything there what we needed- very nice kitchen, big living room with TV, washing machine in bathroom, big and cleaned pool, wifi to read news. Spiros is very nice guy and will help with every question. He also made best cold coffee I have ever got. This Villa is not in the city so the car is recommended to discover other villages in the island. But if the idea is not to travel around the island but to take sun and relax it is possible to get there without car. We liked that place so I would recommend it to other travelers.

We spent very beautiful holidays in Spiros's villa! Everything was perfect! Spiros is a very helpful, frendly and smily host, giving to us all the information needeed about the area, restaurants, places to visit etc... The villa is well located, close to the sea, in a very quite area surrounded by thousands of centenary olive trees. The house is very clean and tidy, with a lovely green garden full of fruit trees. It was also very pleasant to have the shadow of the oak and hammocks under it. We really loved our family holidays here in Corfu with our children and we highly recommand Spiros and this place!

Our family of 4 spent 8 fantastic days at Villa Araxali, and Spiros was an excellent host, always responsive and generous (even sharing some of the delicious, fresh produce from his father's garden!). The villa listing and pictures are entirely accurate. The house is cozy and pretty well-equipped. We loved spending time in the yard/garden and cooling down in the pool. The villa is located in a relatively remote area of the island, pretty far from the major resorts (which is exactly what we wanted), so a rental car is a must. We took a number of day trips during our stay. Some of the more dramatic views of the island (from the coastal mountains) are in the north and northwest parts of the island (which is also where you will find more crowds, tour buses, resorts, etc.), but as the island is not too big, you can reach many of these places by car in an hour or less.) There is a nice, quiet, small beach about a 10-minute walk from the villa--and some bigger beaches not much farther away (one of which is known for its excellent kite surfing). Highly recommended villa and host!

we had a wonderful time at villa araxali, two weeks with family and kids. the house is perfect, very nice, clean and comfortable. but most of the time - when not at the beach - we were in the beautiful garden with gallery, sun chairs, hammocks and lots of trees! the grill is the perfect outdoor kitchen... Spiros was a very nice and gelpful host, taking us from the airport to the house and showing us the surroundings. Manolis, his father, came from time to time to look after the garden and we had wonderful conversations in greek-english-german-spanish about fire, salad, etc. he even gave us tomatoes and figs from his vegetable patch behind the fence! On our last day we met Maria, who is the woman behind this very nice house. They are wonderful people, very friendly and very child-friendly, we had all the help and advise we needed, but never felt intruded! the place is very quiet, just some neighbours. the nearest beaches are ok, but of course halikounas ist the best. on some very windy days we went to the other side of the island, which was fun for the kids, very shallow and warm water, no waves. We had the holidays we wanted and are very happy - i would love to be there still. Thank you very much, Spiros, Manolis, Maria!

Our family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children aged between 4 and 10) had a wonderful week at Villa Araxali. Spiros was the perfect host, collecting us from airport and showing us the way. We hired a car (essential) which allowed us to visit lots of the island. The villa had everything we needed, and Spiros was easily contactable should we have any queries. The pool and gardens were fantastic and well maintained. We especially loved the cake baked for us by Spiros's mum and the basket of vegetables grown by his father. We visited Halikounas and Prasoudi beach which are lovely beaches nearby. Further out we would recommend a visit to Paramonas, Bouraki and Lefkimmi which are lovely coastal areas with delightful tavernas. Would thoroughly recommend a visit to Archontiko restaurant - fabulous!. Would not hesitate to recommend Spiros and Villa Araxali - we would love to return. Thanks Spiros!

We loved our week at Corfu and Villa Araxali was the perfect place to stay. The villa is 45 minutes away from the airport situated in a quiet part of the island in the midst of olive groves. (You will definitely need a car to get to the house and around the rest of the island). Spiros met us in the nearby town of Moraitika, and we followed him to the house (it would have been impossible to find it otherwise—its very much off the beaten path, which we liked). At the house, his mother had left us roasted pork with potatoes in the oven which was a nice welcome. Spiros was very helpful with recommendations and also responsive during the stay when we had questions. Some supplies were provided, and others we had to purchase/replenish: detergent for the laundry machine, dish soap, charcoal. Linens and towels were changed halfway through our one week stay. We were pleasantly surprised at how lush and peaceful the property was. There were fruit trees on the property (figs, grapes, oranges, and lemons), some of which we picked and had with breakfast. At night we grilled on the property and chilled out by the pool. One downside was that the ceiling fans were not very effective at night and we had trouble sleeping because it was so hot. When we mentioned this to Spiros he provided an extra fan which made it much better. A few notes on the amenities listed: there isn't a hot tub (although the pool has jets), shampoo was not provided, and although smoking is permitted it doesn't smell smoky (a relief for us, as we are not smokers). There were a couple nice beaches nearby within 5-10minute drive from the property but we also explored Agni and Paleokastritsa beaches where we rented boats from (1 - 1.5 hrs away). Spiros recommended that we rent boats at these beaches and it did not disappoint. We went around the coast snorkeling and exploring various coves and deserted beaches. Chalikounas beach is also a nice sandy beach for relaxing and has a beach bar and chair/umbrella rentals.

Spiros was a very nice host, they went to pick up us at the airport and his mother cooked us a yummy dinner ! In addition, the house is very lovely and the garden is just impressive, it's perfect for an awesome stay in Corfu island. Thanks again Spiros (and family) for the kind hosting, we really appreciated everything you did for us. :)

The design of the house, outside area and pool have been incredibly well thought through. The inside of the house is cool and comfortable (the fans work very well) and full of lovely comfortable areas to lounge around in and relax. Outside is similarly brilliantly designed with lots of comfortable and attractive seating (we all loved the chair swings!) in both shaded and sunny spots. The pool was glorious -- kept scrupulously clean and big enough for proper swimming. The house is accessed via quite a rough track but for us that made the luxury at the end of it even more welcome. The views from the house are even better than in the photos -- we loved being able to see the sea from the upper terrace. The house manager Loraine and Arseniss (sp?) were so helpful and friendly -- as were Mitch and Denise via email before we came. We had an exceptionally relaxing time in what is essentially a perfect holiday home.

We went here as part of our honeymoon and our stay at Mitch & Denise's house was truly the highlight of ourtrip. First of all the house is just perfect; the interior is as beautiful as on the pictures and the outside space has different comfy and shaded areas to relax around the pool and beautiful garden. Everything was very clean, including the outside area and the pool. You also enjoy great views of the lake and sea and the terrain directly around the place is all olive trees, making the place really feel like an oasis of luxury in the middle of nature. Mitch and Denise have clearly paid great attention to detail in all parts of the house and also as hosts they were very thoughtfull. They were always available and very helpful while at the same time giving us all the privacy we wanted. Most of all they're just really nice people and they really gave a personal touch to hosting! (For example we got some delicious figs from the garden and even some home made tzatziki)

Nice villa in the midst of olive groves - but needs air conditioning The villa is set within an olive grove and in an area that is really off the beaten track and away from mass tourism (one needs a 4x4 ideally to reach the house). Yet within a short distance you have a many wonderful beaches to choose from, and also quite a few options of local tavernas with lovely food. The villa itself is very tastefully done. It is obvious that the owners (which we didn't meet by the way as they were abroad) are very proud of the house and keep it to a pristine condition. At the same time we somehow felt we were trespassing....the kitchen was indeed very well equipped, but it was empty - some spices was the only thing available. For less than €10 one can leave a bottle of milk, some eggs, some bread and fruit and it would make such a difference for people to feel instantly welcome. At other places we have stayed there were various food supplies to use as we wish, which you end up topping up and leaving back more than you consume in the end. Airbnb recommends that we take care the homes we stay as ours, but we struggled to take care of it as much as we wanted - we didn't even have any sponges or detergent to clean the kitchen counters. There is a washing machine but had to buy the dish washer tablets, just hand-wash in the bathrooms, etc. But above all the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms was the main challenge we had. The lovely location means that there are a lot a nature noises, such as the rooster waking up at the early hours every morning. Because of the heat you couldn't leave the windows closed, the fans weren't doing the job either so we had terrible sleep every night, waking up both because we were very hot and due to the noises. Our friend staying in the downstairs bedroom ended up sleeping at the sofa in the living room - as the bedroom was simply too hot. Unfortunately the very hard mattresses on the beds didn't help either. All in all, this is a wonderful villa but could be a much more pleasant place to stay if air conditioning is installed and a few details are addressed to make it more welcoming to its guests(URL HIDDEN)

A dream house! The location is pretty isolated, you definitely need a car, but if you are after a wonderful living experience - this is the place. The only thing we were a bit shocked at was that there was no TV reception (so DVDs only). But this made for a quiet, relaxing stay. The wifi can be a bit iffy but I don't think that was a problem at the house (the network is a bit difficult on the island - so don't rely on it being available).

The villa was amazing! Beautiful enviroment and very quit. Also Mitch and Denise were great, both fantastic hosts! We'll come back for sure!

A lovely quite and well looked after place

We had a very nice stay at Mitch & Denise's place. The house is really nice and was a great place for our family of 5. It is secluded, off the beaten trail, and provides a great, quite place to stay in Corfu. If you are planning to spent time in Corfu Town or see the other coasts of the island, it can be about 45-90 minutes drive depending on where you go. Tip for future traveller's is that (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps has the location of "Driftwood Villa" Even though detailed directions were provided, its still a little challenging to find the first time you drive to it, so (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) can help. We stayed early in April for 4 days. The weather was really great for April, but we could tell that the house would be even better in the heat of summer providing a fantastic pool/patio experience and a cool home to beat the heat. We enjoyed the house and also exploring the rest of the island with day trips using our rental car. Near the house we recommend eating at the Taverna Alonaki Bay. It is only a few minutes from the house, has a fantastic view, great food, and friendly service. We would definitely recommend this house to others.

This wonderful house was the best of those we have seen during our Corfu' trip. We definitely did not make a mistake when choosing the Mitch & Denis' house according to the photographs and by the description on the website. Remarkable architecture, planning, interiors, land and garden around the house - all arranged comfortably and with great taste. The house is located in a quiet and very beautiful place, away from the noisy resorts. But all you need for rest and for living is located nearby. It is necessary to rent a car in the near village. And then it will be convenient to ride, to drive and reach any proper place on the island. From the house you can also quickly get to the beach, and to the cafe, and to the bar at the seaside, and to the near towns where there are shops, grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies and so on. Swimming pool near the house is also very comfortable and well designed. Here you can swim from morning till late evening. Water and shadow on the terrace help hiding from heat and bright sun in the afternoon.
