  • My partner and I had a great little stay at Amanda and Steves air bnb! The air bnb it’s self was lovely with great scenery! The air bnb was nice and secluded for a relaxing break away, but also not too far of a drive to Inverness either! Amanda was a great host who responded to us quickly with any requests we had!

CreagMhòr B&B is remotely situated high up in peaceful Glen Urquhart four miles from Loch Ness. With it's own private access your accommodation is a ground floor en-suite double room which can also cater as a Twin/2xDouble/Family room using the additional and comfortable sofa bed. Your continental breakfast is conveniently kept fresh in your own fridge ready to be enjoyed at the table in the room. A Barbeque Hut is also available to hire for your own private use supplied with coal and utensils.
Our family home is situated below the summit of CreagMhor in an idyllic garden surrounded by a rich variety of wildlife, fauna and the scenic splendour of Glen Urquhart and the Glen Affric hills.
In days gone by CreagMhor was a small hamlet known as Badcaul, 'hazel clump' in Gaelic, presently however there are only two remaining houses both occupied by one extended family. Both properties have been refurbished from ruins to a high standard keeping their original 1850's crofting design visible.
  • Alison was absolutely wonderful! I'm on a daddy daughter trip and my father is a barbecue fanatic. We used the barbecue hut and made some great memories and in the morning went up the hill for some great pics of Loch Ness. Breakfast was a great touch. Would stay again!

  • A fantastically idyllic place at a lovely, peaceful location. Alison was very flexible and approachable, even as we arrived late in the evening. She had also prepared a lovely breakfast for us, which was a very nice positive surprise. The room was very cosy and the views from the top of the hill, where the house is located, were amazing. Gutted we could not stay longer, and would definitely want to come back!

Our house is Architect designed with wonderful views over the valley towards Glen Affric and the mountains. We are 4 miles from the very busy town of Drumnadrochit so if you like peace and quiet this is the place to be. The house is situated un 2.5 acres of woodland with a small lochum. We have 14 hens, 8 ducks and 2 cats. The garden is full of wild life and birds, we have red squirrel, foxes and pinemartins. Please note we have no cooking or dining facilities, and no takeaways in room.
The Bedroom/s we offer are spacious, thoughtfully furnished and equipped using our knowledge as hoteliers. You can book the Double room for 1 or 2 For a third adult or older child we offer the single room at a charge of £20.00 per night Bed and Breakfast. Both these rooms share the bathroom. If you require the two rooms for single occupancy for two persons then we would discount the single room to £15.00. If you only require the Double we do not let the single to anyone else. We do have an extra double room ensuite on the ground floor which we would use if there are 4 adults travelling together and would want 2 double rooms. The cost of this room is from £50.00 for 1 or two persons including breakfast. We offer a continental breakfast buffet of cereals, toast, croissants or danish pastries and we are happy to offer a boiled egg. Our eggs come from our own chickens which free range in part of the garden. Our normal check in times are between 5pm and 8 pm. If you require an earlier check in then let us know on or before day of arrival by 11 am. We do sometimes go out and may not be back until 5 pm if we are not expecting you. If you require a later check in, again let me know when you book. Our latest check in time would be 10.30 unless of course an emergency arises i.e. an accident or traffic jam and as long as you keep us undated we are happy to wait up for you.
Ghoirtein is situated in its own grounds and is not overlooked by neighbours, 4 miles from Drumnadrochit making it a very peaceful but easy to access location for people wishing to get away from it all and to explore the beautiful Glens of Affric, Cannick and Strathfarrar.
  • We spent one night at Sue's, an immaculate and comfortable room !! And especially very warm hosts, who have an exceptional setting, who shared local addresses with us. A great stay!

  • Sue and Michael are lovely people, very warm, welcoming and helpful during our stay. Their beautiful home is very cosy and immaculately clean and we were made to feel very comfortable. Will be coming back :)

  • We spent one night at this bed and breakfast. We were 3 adults and found that it met our needs very well. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was great and the suggestions for attractions and directions were very helpful. If we are in this area again, we will certainly be looking for Sue's place again.

    Richard2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice room, very spacious, with sofa in addition to the bed, very large bed very comfortable, heating mattress if needed, large private bathroom. Room on the floor so great privacy. Deco refined wood in the room (flat for stuffed birds in the house and ambience hunting but not in the room). I was expecting a Scottish breakfast and in fact it was a continental breakfast. Fortunately we had boiled eggs in salty if not sweet. Easy to find with Google Maps and the name of Bnb. Home ok

Welcome to our traditional croft house with stunning views of Loch Ness from every room. We welcome pets and children but are also an ideal base for couples due to our quiet but central location a mile from the home of the Loch Ness monster, 14 miles from the city of Inverness and an hour away from the west coast of Scotland. For more information on the many attractions nearby see www.visitinvernesslochness.com and read our reviews to find out more.
Our cottage is comfortable and cosy with everything you need for your stay.
Drumnadrochit is a picturesque village just 14 miles from Inverness. The village has several cafes, two pubs which serve food, a post office, co-op and two museums devoted to the Loch Ness monster. Inverness has a wealth of facilities including a wonderful arts centre (www.eden-court.co.uk) and sports centre (www.invernessleisure.co.uk)
  • Absolutely lovely cottage with unbelievable views of Loch Ness and the adorable village of Drumnadrochit. Easy drive to Inverness, and so many local attractions to keep you occupied if you don't want to just sit and enjoy the view of the sheep!

    Theresa2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time atBoxys Croft, unfortunately the weather impacted train journeys so my daughters could nt make it. Watching the weather move a it’s the loch was unbeatable , the cost fire and we hope to come back as soon as we can!

    Vicki2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. The house was great for families and dogs. Although we went in the winter there was a fire set up for our arrival and central heating on. The views are breath taking and with a piano in the dining room there was never a dull moment. Alun recommended walks which I took our dogs on close by. We also went pony treking. There is so much to see and do and Boxy Croft is an ideal base. The house itself is well equipped for cooking and relaxing. The beds are very comfy and rooms spacious. There was ample parking close to the house and shops are a 5 minute drive away. We never managed to fit it in but there was a wee cafe at the bottom of the road that does home baking etc. We only wished we could have stayed longer.

    Kerrie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location up on the hill overlooking Loch Ness. Katherine was very helpful showing us around the house and offering some great local advise of places to explore. Would definitely return for a longer period, so much to see in the local area and close to Inverness.

    Rachel2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint cottage hidden in the countryside with the most mesmerising views of the Loch. A must stay

    Sumant2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little house with great accommodation and fantastic views. Alun and his family are really welcoming and generous. Lovely walks from the door but the house is full of comfort, a piano, games and films, so if the weather's not great staying in until the sun reappears isn't so bad!

    Katie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning rare find in the Highlands...Alun, Katie, Sam, Felicity and Skye welcomed us so warmly and the cottage is a little piece of heaven. Log fire, great rustic feel and everything you need close by. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much for the hospitality and much needed break away. John, Christine, Jacqui and Estelle

  • Had a lovely stay here, little cabin has everything you need. In a really peaceful place and would definitely go back. We had good weather which meant we were able to sit outside and enjoy morning coffee in what felt like a little meadow even though it’s just at the back of the B&B. Susan and her husband were very welcoming and give us good tips about walks. Glen Affric nearby is beautiful for walking. Would definitely recommend this place.

    Jude2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Alastair’s cabins are excellent. Less than five minutes’ walk to the village shop and pub, they’re a short drive into beautiful Glen Affric. The cabins are only at the bottom of the garden but are very quiet and gaze into trees so it feels like you’re out in the woods. Would happily stay again.

  • All future guests can expect a very warm welcome from the hosts and a clean tidy and amazing lil cabin ! Worth every penny ! Go , relax , explore and have fun !

  • We had a short two night stay in one of Susan's charming cabins. The cabin is very well put together and well-appointed. The large window frames a Caledonian view that makes you feel a part of forest. Susan was very welcoming and had some great advice about things to do in the area. We would like to have stayed longer.

  • The way to check in is very convenient and the house is a comfortable place to stay, but it will be better to have a striking signpost at the roadside because it took us some time to find the house, and the wifi signal is rather weak.

We are in probably one of the most scenic parts of the Highlands, just minutes away from the iconic Glen Affric, Ploda Falls, and Dog Falls which all offer stunning views and excellent walking opportunities. The accommodation is 15 minutes from Loch Ness and 30 minutes from Inverness, the Highland Capital. We are also on the door step of the North Coast 500 route for the trip of a life time stunning .
This is a superb location for visiting the Highlands. Loch Ness is just a 15 min drive where you can enjoy boat trips and fishing on the loch. Scotland is the home of golf and we have some pretty special courses nearby: Castle Stuart, Nairn, Royal Dornoch, Aigas Golf Course is just down the road. There are so many places for walking you really will be spoilt for choice; ask us for more information. Inverness is the capital of the Highlands and has a great range of shops, restaurants and bars, bistros and cafes to choose from. There is also a cinema, bowling alley, sports centre and lots of supermarkets to stock up the kitchen! Ask us if you have any preferences for what to do and see in the area and we will be more than pleased to help.
We have a local cafe, public house/restaurant and village shop a few minutes away.

Riverside Cottage is nestled in woods alongside a secluded stretch of magnificent Highland river. The cottage is cosy and fully self-contained, with a kitchen, bathroom, sitting and dining area and two bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin). A log stove wards off any Scottish weather. The balcony opens onto lawn and trees and the cool, peat-coloured waters of the River Glass.
Guests are welcome to walk or fish along our 6km stretch of river bank, or unwind in the peace and tranquility of the gardens and grounds, within a few minutes of some of the most spectacular panoramas of Scotland. We are a few minutes from the exquisite 19th-century village of Tomich. Loch Ness (15 minutes) and the charming village of Beauly (25 minutes) are within easy reach. For the hardy, take a dip in the fresh(!) Highland water to clear your mind and body of the stresses and strains of city life. Riverside cottage was built in the 19th century for the gamekeeper of Kerrow House, an 18th-century hunting lodge built by the heads of Clan Chisholm and enlarged in the 19th century by Lord Tweedmouth. Kerrow House was home to celebrated Scottish writer Neil Gunn. Fans of his work can imbibe the ambience that inspired such classics as Highland River and the Lost Glen. Before Gunn lived at Kerrow, it was here that Lord Tweedmouth oversaw the breeding of the first litters of the Golden Retriever Breed. The kennel books of nearby Guisachan estate record the birth of the first golden pups here, at Kerrow.
Strathfarrar is at the heart of one of the wildest and most spectacular parts of the Highlands. The nearby village of Cannich is within easy reach. Kerrow is the ideal base from which to explore some of the most glorious and wild areas of the Highlands.
  • Wonderful, cosy and warm place. Tucked away in the woods but close to everything on offer in the area. Just what we were looking for a relaxed few days away with a log fire and views into the forest and the river surrounded by the hills. Jack is a great host provided local info and personal touches making us feel welcome over the Christmas period. No hesitation to recommend this for a trip away!

  • We spent 5 nights at Rowan Cottage. It is really cosy and comfortable with everything you might need, and so well placed for lots of outdoor activities. We spent time walking, kayaking, fishing and cycling in the beautiful nearby glens. There is a good Spar shop in Cannich for supplies, and several nearby cafes and places to eat. We have really enjoyed our time there.

Urquhart Bay Croft is a brand new luxury self-catered renovation with beautiful views across Loch Ness and Glen Urquhart. Downstairs it has a double height entrance hallway, one king-size bedroom, and separate family bathroom, while upstairs it boasts a fully equipped open plan kitchen/dining area, lounge with comfy sofa and free standing log burner, and double doors opening to decked area and the wider south facing garden.
We are Simon and Annie Greenlay. We first saw Urquhart Bay cottage in 2014 and fell in love with it. We have run Urquhart Bay BnB for 2yrs(see our other listings for reviews). We knew immediately that we wanted to live in this peaceful place with its one-of-a-kind views over Loch Ness. The Croft is our latest project that we have put our heart and soul into, and look forward to sharing it with our guests. The Croft is ideally situated close to the beautiful Highland village of Drumnadrochit, and is only a 2 minute walk from the iconic Urquhart Castle. It sits in extensive private gardens to explore offering stunning views of Loch Ness and Glen Urquhart. Downstairs, there is a large kingsize bedroom with original bothy window offering views from the bed across the loch, and a separate luxury bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower with rain head. Upstairs, there is a large open plan kitchen/diner and lounge with free standing log burner, that also has a pull out sofa bed for children. We have worked with local craftsmen to restore and enhance the original building, so that you are never far from a view of the Loch(even from your bed!), and couldn’t be closer to the iconic Urquhart Castle, just a few minutes’ walk away. For the cosier evenings we have a large log burner, SMART TV and high speed WiFi available throughout. The Croft is furnished to a very high standard, with many items hand crafted and knitted. Guests can expect high quality toiletries, Egyptian cotton linen throughout, and we are happy to provide fresh eggs daily from our free range highland hens. The Croft is a great base to explore the highlands, and there are many walking routes directly from the doorstep to explore the local views across the iconic Loch, or bump into some of the local wildlife such as many local deer or birds of prey who live near the Loch. We have plenty of parking available and are a short walk from the local village of Drumnadrochit.
Peaceful and in an area of outstanding beauty. A short walk down to the village on a path.
  • The location of this Croft is amazing with lovely views of Loch Ness, the recommendations on where to visit were very welcome also. The Croft is homely and had everything we needed, we can’t fault anything! Thank you very much for letting us stay here.

  • Wow what a stunning find! We were a little nervous being first time airnbnb-ers but our experience couldn't have been better. The croft is the perfect cosy hideaway and Annie and Simon are wonderful hosts.

    Morgan2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Annie & Simon’s beautiful Croft. For me, it was perfect, faultless even. The Croft is beautifully designed, warm, cosy and welcoming with stylish, personal touches. In a nutshell, the bed is super comfy, bathroom is great, kitchen has everything you need, and the living room has a wood burning stove, not to mention THAT view! The balcony area is a peaceful outside space to sit and enjoy the view of Loch Ness and the wooded hillside behind the croft. I’d say the croft is ideally located to explore the area, with short walks direct to the village and beyond. There is a large Co-op and good pharmacy, and the Loch Ness Inn pub is nearby. Simon was generous with helpful local advice - thank you for pointers on Glen Affric (I did the Affric-Kintail trail for longer hike) and the Great Glen Way (check out the pottery)- I did both and loved every minute! I can’t wait to return! Thank you!

    Sarah2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a beautiful and luxurious place to stay. The Croft was incredibly well equipped and decorated to a very high spec. It was really warm, comfortable, and relaxing. Just what my partner and I needed. We really didn’t want to leave. It’s also very well located with beautiful views over Urquhart Bay, and just around the corner from Urquhart Castle. Simon met us on arrival which was quite late in the evening, and showed us around the Croft and gave us lots of useful information about local walks. We would love to return to the Croft again.

  • This is a fabulous find for anyone exploring the Loch Ness, North West Scotland area. Cosy, comfortable, clean and charming. If you are looking for a lovely secluded place to retreat to, this is it. Take you hiking boots. There are some fabulous views. We loved our visit.

    Jennifer2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Croft has awesome views looking over Loch Ness and has everything you need for a relaxing weekend getaway. Lovely local restaurant called The Loch Ness Inn, which I’d highly recommend too! Thanks Annie & Simon. Hope to see you again soon!

    Tom2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic accomodation in an amazing location. The croft is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Would recommend for anyone looking to stay in this area. Thanks again to Simon and Annie for having us!

  • What an amazing house to stay in! The house exceeded all our expectations- not only is it a beautifully designed house (all the windows are perfectly placed so you maximise all the views) but it is in a perfect location, only 4 mins walk to Urquhart Castle and a 5mins drive to local amenities and overlooks the beautiful Loch Ness! There are lots of lovely touches around the house and it’s very beautifully decorated. The bathroom was spotless and the bath was by far the best I’ve ever used! I wish I could have taken it home with me! Will be recommending to all our family and friends!

  • Claudia is a great host. We didn't get the chance to meet her but as soon as we arrived in the place, we felt very welcome! The place was easy to find, check in was simple and quick and the place is clean, well equipped and well stocked. There were fresh flowers, fruits, a bottle of wine, tea, coffee, even a bottle of fresh milk which we weren't expecting. The house is amazing, spacious and warm. There's plenty of logs for the fire place, we barely used the underfloor heating even when it was snowing! Thanks Claudia for having us and we hope to return again.

This hand built luxuary cabin is fully insulation with underfloor heating, keeping it lovely and warn all year. It is a light and cosy space with a touch of luxury, located beside our home in a quiet, rural location and commanding stunning views into the valley. If you desire a quiet space to relax this will be your ideal getaway. Great walks, lovley places to explore, experience tranqui and stunning scenery.
My cabin has been built and decorated with love and passion. We built the cabin to fullfill what we would like in a holiday let and to highlight highland hospitality at its best. The cabin is a special place suitable for weekends, full weeks and business trips alike. It has all the amenities of a high class hotel and more.
We live in a beautiful part of Inverness shire called Kiltarlity, just outside the picturesque village of Beauly. Our property is very rural and quiet surrounded by fields looking into the valley of Strathglass. We are not over looked by other properties with our few neighbours being a field distance away. If your looking for peace and tranquility, this is the place for you. During the day it’s extreamly quiet, at night it’s silent. With no light pollution the stars are spectacular, you can see shooting stars and the amazing Aurora Borealis can be visible.
  • Beautiful lodge, sparkling clean, lovely furniture and fit out. Great location for walking and the views from the lodge are wonderful.

They’ve also got breakfast options in the room which were sufficient for us since we stayed for a weekend. The place was sparkling clean and very well maintained. I almost didn’t want to get it dirty! Caterina is a very gracious and helpful host who gave us some tips for a nice hike around the house too :)

  • This place is amazing! You have everything you could possibly need and it's very cozy. The location is awesome and in the nearby town there's a lot of great food. We loved making breakfast with the eggs, bread and various homemade jams provided. We met Caterina's husband, Mark, and he gave us a lot of tips of what to see in the area. We would definitely book this place again when we return to the highlands.

The personal touches with fresh eggs, tablet and treats for our dog were a really nice touch and just added to our stay. It’s a perfect place for a quiet getaway, with plenty of places to explore. Mark and Nina were lovely and great hosts, helping us with whatever we needed, no wonder it is such a popular place to stay. We loved our time there and would love to visit again one day.

    Graeme2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We didn’t want to leave! This was a 5 star luxury cabin ready for us and our dog. Mark and Caterina have thought of everything in this cabin, making our stay easy and relaxing. The yard is fully enclosed, there were treats left for our dog and there are beautiful off-lead walks straight off the door step. Make sure to try the home made strawberry jam - it’s the best I’ve ever had! We can’t wait to come back!

New to airbnb our Yurt - we initially put this up for our family and grandchildren when they visit, but between times we are happy to let it out. The Yurt is tastefully and comfortably furnished with a kingsize bed, an area to prepare breakfast etc. and a seating area. In the winter months we would light the woodburning stove for our guests arrival as this is the only form of heating. To add to your comfort The Yurt has an ensuite bathroom with shower, hot water and electricity.
During the summer you can BBQ on the decking over looking the lochum. (Bring a disposable BBQ with you). If you are lucky you might spot a Kingfisher although we do discourage Herons as they pinch our fish! Other wildlife you may see are Pinemartins, Foxes, Stoats and Weasels, Red Squirrels and lots of birds and bats. The garden where the Yurt is situated and wood which you have access too is a haven for wildlife. Although quite secluded we do have neighbours and sound travels in the glen so we do ask guests not to play music, but to come here to enjoy the peace and tranquility and the birds singing and the owls hooting at night. Our check in times are 5 pm - 8pm. If you wish to check in earlier let me know before 11am on day of arrival as if we go out we might not be back until 5 oclock. If you wish to check in later than 8 pm, again let me know as soon as possible so that we don't worry about you not arriving. Our latest check in would be 10.30. as we then go to bed. Obviously in an emergency i.e. traffic jam or accident we would stay up and wait for you to arrive.
Balnain itself does not have any shops. The nearest shops are in Drumnadrochit which is approx. 4 miles drive where you will find a small supermarket, a chemist, post office and numerous gift shops, a pub, and a couple of restaurants and coffee shops. There is also the Lochness Exhibition Centre and an office where you can book boat trips on Lochness - Nessy hunting! About 8 miles drive there is Glen Affric which is considered one of the prettiest Glens in Scotland, there is also Strathglass and Glen Strathfarrar to walk and explore. In Cannick there is a coffee shop - Bog Cotton Cafe run by a friend situated at the Camp Site and in Tomich there is another coffee shop and a Hotel where you can get a bar meal. The small town of Beauly is very pretty and has some interesting, individual shops plus a couple of coffee shops and hotels.

  • We spent two nights of our honeymoon in Sue's yurt and it was a dream come true. The log fire burned in the middle of the yurt, providing warmth and a beautiful atmosphere, the birds sang in the trees, the sun shone through the window in the roof. It was idyllic. On top of this, the yurt is fully equipped with a toilet, hot shower and cooking facilities. We couldn't have been happier. Thank you so much, Sue.

    Natalie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is an amazing space just to be in. There is a fantastic private outdoor space to enjoy if the weather is good, if not just enjoy being without a TV and being in the yurt. There are plenty of books and games to keep you occupied if needs be. Sue gave us plenty of ideas as to where to visit locally and was more than happy to provide wood for the fire for the evening. Furnished to a high standard this is probably one of my most favourite places I've stayed!!

    Sheryel2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the yurt. It is a well equipped and cosy space. Sue and Michael are fantastic hosts, and gave us a very warm welcome. The small touches made us feel at home, including fresh bread on arrival. It is well located for travelling from Inverness and near the beautiful Glen Affric.

    Tom2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing! We loved staying here! The yurt has everything that we needed and it was so comfortable and clean! Would definitely recommend this!

    Emma2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a cozy, safe and beautiful place.

    Katie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is very private, hidden away at the back of a steep green park. It’s homely, amazingly tastefully furnished (also: most comfy bed ever). The bathroom is complete with a full size shower and the kitchen has everything you need to cook. We used the yurt as a starting point to visit many local points of interest, but we could have just as well spent two full days just enjoying the peace and quiet of the pond, the park... we also enjoyed the visits of the house cat Sammy!

    Anne-Sophie2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was our first time staying in a yurt and it didn’t disappoint. Absolutely gorgeous location. We had a wonderful stay as it’s so cosy and has everything you need. Sue it a great host as met us on arrival and showed us round. Her welcome pack was a treat and her homemade bread delicious. Sam the cat even paid us a visit and is so adorable! Thanks for a lovely weekend!

  • Brilliant, comfortable, cosy home away from home. Excellent space to spend a weekend winding down.

    Scott2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Do not hesitate to book this little slice of heaven! Tracy is a wonderful host, helping with a birthday cake for my husband and even leaving a box of choccies for him. The lodge itself is amazing, spotlessly clean, super comfy beds, all mod cons and the hot tub is a delight! We will be booking again and can't wait to go back.

    Claire2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time visiting the Lodge, It was a great first Valentines weekend as a new Mr & Mrs. Tracy was very prompt in answering any questions we had and was kind enough to add the extra touch of a welcome box of chocolates :) Would definitely recommend.

    Chloe2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's place was absolutely stunning and i couldn't have asked for more! I felt so welcome and the sweet touches of the chocolates for valentines day was so thoughtful! Tracy was such a lovely host, very attentive and friendly. I will 100% be back!

    Jasmine2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Just back from an excellent stay. Everything in the lodge was sparkling and we loved the added extras of bread, butter, jam and milk. Tracy was quick to respond when we had any questions and provided lots of information about the local area. Was a lovely stay and would definitely recommend staying here.

    Natalie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect get away in an amazing area. A nice quiet area but still local enough to shops, restaurants and a takeaway. A very cosy stay, we will be back for sure!

    Grant2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just home from a fantastic weekend away. Tracey gave us a warm welcome to begin with. The lodge was stunning/ very modern and the hot tub was a great feature. We loved the little quirks i.e. the board games and the bread etc, very thoughtful. The drive to Lewiston/ the river at the back of the lodge was so peaceful and being in that part of Scotland reminded us of the beauty of the country. Thank you Tracey, we hope to return in the future!

    Emma2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here over New year. Absolutely fantastic, Tracy really has thought of everything. The lodge was just immaculate and so cozy, quiet and private. We will definitely be back and have already recommended to friends. Beautiful walks near by too.

  • Rustic perfection!! :) Our stay at Sues place was just perfect!! Best pod/lodge we've stayed in to date! Spotlessly clean throughout, easy to access, spacious and comfortable. All amenities we could possibly need for our stay were provided for, including the most delicious homemade brownies (yum, thanks sue!) and generously stocked continental breakfast (to include fresh fruit, yoghurts, juice, cereals, Danish, toast and preserves).... Outstanding value for money and we'll certainly return to this wonderful quirky, gem of the highlands!xx

    Patrick2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Glasha Grove is a beautifully designed space, perfectly set up for a couple. Everything has been thought about to maximise convenience and comfort. Sue greeted us very warmly and made sure we had everything we needed. The Ploddafalls nearby are incredible, we’re so glad we found this place. Definitely recommend staying here to escape the crowds!

    Georgina2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a complete gem of a place. It is warm & comfortable, has wonderful views & easy walking access to the forest in all directions. I cooked my evening meals outside on the porch with my camping stove which worked fine. After lots of travelling, it was lovely to leave the vehicle parked up for my entire stay & be able to walk to so many beautiful woodland spots - esp Plodda falls which is a 3hr round walk from the cabin. Sue & her daughter Deborah were so welcoming, helpful & friendly. Shall definitely be back the next time we come to Glen Affric!

  • Sue and Michael were fantastic they gave us heaps advice when travelling around Loch Ness and Isle of Skye. The breakfast was great and the room felt like it was in a hotel but more personal. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. Thank you Sue and Michael you are great hosts xxx.

    Michaela2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sue's house. It was so warm & comfortable. She also fixed us a delicious breakfast with some eggs from their chickens! Our only regret was to only stay for one night.

    Elise2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately we only spent one night in Sue's house, and we regret that we were only passing through here, because the house, the location and the terrain are fantastic and absolutely recommendable for people who need to recharge their batteries :) - It was by far the most relaxing accommodation we could enjoy on our short trip. The room, the facilities, the breakfast...it was all great and exceeded our expectations. Sue and her husband were very good hosts (Thanks also for the great tip with the route back to Pitlochry...We really enjoyed the ride through the Cairngorms. Fantastic landscape) ..We'll be happy to come back...and then definitely longer :)

    Patrick2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great night at Sue's. The room was very clean and very comfortable (bed with heated mattress very nice) and the breakfast was divine. We received a very good welcome, we laughed well with our hosts, a very nice couple.

    Gwen2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm welcome from Michael and Sue who’ve been very arranging for checkin and gave us great tips for our trip. Breakfast was exceptional!

    Louis2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our one night stay at Sue’s lovely home. Her directions to the place were perfect and helpful. The place was very clean and the house beautiful. We really enjoyed our walk down to the pond. Sue provided very helpful local tips and made us a reservation for supper which was very helpful. Breakfast was lovey and Sue and her husband provided very helpful advice on a lovely detour for us to take on our drive toward Oban. I would definitely stay here again.

    Kerry2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation of Sue is a paradise in the middle of the highlands, whether for a night or for several days we really recommend this room! The garden of Sue is wonderful, with a small lake (you can walk around and go around). Sue also booked us a dinner table. The bedding was super comfortable and quality (thank you, it changes some other Airbnb!). The location is great for hiking in the Glen Affric or visiting Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. Her husband took the time to recommend some places to visit. We are disappointed to have only stayed one night here. We recommend this accommodation 100%!

    Clem2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a great discovery this place was. These hosts are excellent and the discussions we had with them turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland. They gave us excellent advices on what to do and visit on Skye. The accommodations were excellent and the breakfast delicious with fresh eggs from their own chickens. We had the opportunity to visit their garden with Michael and we realized at that time that they had a lot more to offer to travellers than we first thought. We warmly recommend this B&B.

  • Firstly, what a wonderful place to stay, high quality property with wonderful views and amazing hot tub. Although a ½ hour drive from Inverness the property is easy to get too, set away from almost everything it's idyllic setting is a wonderful get away. Enjoy time in the wonderfully warm heated property looking over the snow topped mountains or if you opt for the optional hot tub, do the same whilst enjoying the bubbles of the hot tub and prosecco. Thanks for a really enjoyable break with everything you need for a great stay.

    Ian2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay, I highly recommend this house and location. Hot tub is good, apartment looks great, is easy to access and beds are comfy. Views are outstanding. The welcome pack was also super helpful.

    Roselyn2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for views and stargazing from the hot tub! Great for dogs with the enclosed back garden. Loads of great walks nearby. Freezer, fridge&separate wine fridge provide more than adequate storage space! Bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms are luxurious. Amazon echo and smart TVs are great touches. There is a cottage right next door but it's still very private out the back and feel like you're in the middle of nowhere due to views. A wee tip would be to take some games and books as there are none in the house.

We arrived and were greeted by Michael who was super friendly and gave us loads of tips where to go etc, there was milk, bread, biscuits and other little treats waiting for us! The house was sparkling clean and such a cosy space! Thank you Michael & Marie

  • Michael and Marie are extremely friendly and helpful. Their "wee house" is stylish and very well equipped with everything you need for a break in the highlands. It was cosy and comfortable. • Squirrels Leap was a perfect little retreat for the start of a few days off from our own business. The wildlife was fantastic with the badgers coming to feed every night a real highlight. Brian could not have been more helpful, we really enjoyed chatting to him. The cabin has all you need for your stay and the wee Woodburner made it lovely and cosy. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • If you’re looking for a place to relax and connect to the nature, that’s it. It is magical! Super cute wooden hut in the middle of the nature with its own fireplace. Something that really impressed us: everything about it is eco friendly - from composting toilet to all products offered. Just perfect! Brian is a great host and gave us all possible booklets and tips. As many already said, We also got to see badgers during the night as they went to Brian’s house to be fed, so I don’t think you can miss it.

  • A must stay for wildlife lovers! Myself, my husband and our 8 month old had a truly amazing stay. The log cabin is cosy, yet roomy and had all of the amenities we needed; we especially enjoyed the log fire. The setting and abundance of wildlife are breathtaking . We saw badgers up close, a family of red squirrels, Sika deer and her fawn, an array of birds and were even lucky enough to see a pine marten! What makes this place special are the hosts. Brian goes the extra mile and was always on hand to chat, give tips on places to visit and to aid us in spotting the wildlife. We hope to come back and will recommend this place to all of our friends and family. Thank you for having us 😊

    Lisa2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to be close to the nature of Scotland then this is the place to come to! Have you ever seen a pine marten? If you have I bet you've never fed one! Have you seen a red squirrel? Have you ever fed a family of badgers? You will if you stay here! Brian is a super super-host. He greeted us and showed us into the log cabin, which is equipped with everything you will need. There's a fully fitted kitchen with fridge freezer, oven, microwave, plenty of cupboards. The living space is not at all cramped. There is a large TV with Sky. A wood burner with coal and logs supplied if you wish to light it. Brian had it already lit for us on arrival which was a lovely touch. The bedroom is ample and the shower room is small but functional. The log cabin is at the bottom end of a very large garden, set in a very rural wooded area where the wildlife is abundant. Brian made us very welcome and invited us to his house in the evening so we could watch the badgers and pine marten feeding. It was a very thrilling experience.and was the highlight of our trip around Scotland.

  • Everything was great about our short two night stay at Craskie. A) Communication was great prior to arrival regarding book in details etc... B) Friendly welcome on arrival. And Leila was on hand for any questions C) The location is the highlight- we arrived at night and spent the evening deer spotting and star gazing on the decking of our pod. Perfect scenary to wake up in the morning to beautiful views of the valley. D) Pods were amazing. Warm and cozy in the chilly night; comfortable bed; all utilities as described; wifi worked very well; extra touch of a dram of whisky and home-pumped water; bathroom/washing facilities a short walk from the pods. Doesn't feel like your in the middle of the highlands when in your pod! Thanks Leila & Ben!

  • It was very clean and a beautiful bungalow. Leila was very hospitable and explained everything! With the directions it is also good to find, but you should have eaten something before or winfach nirgens want more because it is far away from the center. Anonsten also has something to eat for a Leila. It is a beautiful place there and a bit adventurous :) we would recommend it to anyone, where sometimes something different than the usual B & B's.

Perfectly relaxing space to escape the urban world. The South side of Loch Ness is called the quiet side for good reason. A very rural area where there is little laid on entertainment. A five minute walk from the house will get you to nice places at the side of Loch Ness or onto trails in wonderful mixed woodland. The cabin is studio style with fully equipped kitchen (with cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, cooking and tableware etc) stocked with teas & coffee and salt and pepper, basic cleaning kit. Lounge area with tv, plenty books and DVDs, WiFi (fair use), dinning table and chairs. The Tiny House is in a the small hamlet of houses next to the main route from Inverness to Fort Augustus on the south side of Loch Ness - an increasingly popular tourist touring route but not as busy as the other side. If anything is required that is not on hand please ask, I would be glad to help. Best of all, if the weather is good, back kitchen door opens onto sun deck, garden furniture in porch and bbq available.
A rural location close to lovely walks on Loch Ness or in the Inverfarigaig woodlands and pastoral scenery from the house. The closest shop, post office and cafes and hotels are 2.2 miles away in Foyers. A small village and a nice walk (1/2 hr - 1hr) or short drive away. Other good places are about 8 miles away on lovely drives. About a twenty minute drive will get you to the larger village of Fort August with the famous Caledonian canal or in the other direction Inverness, the highland capital. Your own transport is helpful to get the best from the area but there is a limited bus service that stops almost at our door.
  • We had a most amazing stay with Carolyn! The cabin is perfectly stocked with everything to make a stay pleasant. I cannot imagine a more beautiful base for driving around beautiful Loch Ness. The cabin was perfect for the two of us on our honeymoon with a rental car. We drove to Nairn and Inverness and to the Culloden Battlefield and also all around Loch Ness, including a beautiful drive out to Beauly. We loved staying here and would love to stay again! We loved the beautiful Highlands and all the kind people!

  • This tiny house was perfect for our little family and dog. Location was great, amenities were fab and the host was really friendly and helpful. I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you

    Billie2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn's Tiny House is absolutely perfect. Even in December it is seriously cosy and we loved cuddling up and listening to the rain on the roof while our dog Leia relaxed after a long walk. The location is perfect for beautiful walks and handy for Inverness. Where you can visit by bus to go to pubs like the Black Isle Brewery or the wee Cafe at the waterfall in Foyers. In addition, you can easily drive or take public transport to many other gorgeous places liken Nairn to take in views at the beach. Perfect for pooches running around on the sand dunes but remember to keep them on the lead if you are in the mountains for safety! On that note Carolyn was wonderfully welcoming to Leia. She was happy to have her there so long as we kept the place clean of muddy paw and boot marks! Leia even had toys provided for her stay! In a nutshell if you want somewhere clean and cosy that will provide that long needed break from the world then this is the place. There is everything that you could possibly need to walk, do tourist things or chill out in a Highland heaven all in one neat wee package.

  • Carolyn made the lovely effort of switching the lights and heating on before our arrival, as we were getting there late in the day, so it felt very welcoming and toasty. It is a very cosy and clean little cabin, with everything we needed for a great couple of nights. Lots of helpful info and booklets on the surrounding area which was a nice touch too.

My place is close to Loch Ness and public transport links to Inverness. You’ll love my place because of the natural light, modern open plan living space and mature woodland garden. My place is good for solo adventurers. I work from home running a natural yarn dyeing business, Loch Ness Knitting. So I am on hand to provide information about the local area. Please be aware we also have two friendly cats.
First Floor bedroom, with single bed. Traditional sloped ceiling and large window. Your bathroom with power shower is adjacent to the room.
The village of Drumnadrochit is at the heart of Loch Ness. We are within walking distance of the Nessieland and Loch Ness exhibition centres. Boat trips to explore the Loch and Castle Urquhart are also available in the village centre. For evening meals we recommend booking the Fiddlers or the Loch Ness Inn. Cafes and Pubs in the village centre are also excellent. For a hearty breakfast we recommend the A82 cafe around the corner from the house.
  • Beautiful modern home in the heart of Loch Ness. Amazing surroundings and easy to get to everything.

    Sabine2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Both are very nice and helpful. The apartment is clean and you can cook something in the kitchen. One cat is very sweet the other is not. The location is great. It is only about 3 minutes to the snack bar and the supermarket. You can also walk to the ruins (but costs a lot of admission).

Stoneyfield Shepherd's Hut is a unique experience, set in the beautiful tranquillity of Glen Urquhart. It is secluded within woodland, providing a peaceful getaway but close to the many spectacular attractions of the Loch Ness area. It has been finished to a very high standard (full kitchen and plumbed-in toilet/ shower-room), while exhibiting a bespoke rustic style. A perfect haven for a relaxing break in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, the location featured in the Outlander TV show.
Stoneyfield Shepherd’s Hut is a modern but rustic-style cabin, finished to a very standard and set within beautiful surroundings next to a small stream. It provides full ‘self-catering’ facilities with a functional kitchen and ‘hidden’ toilet/ shower room. Another key feature is its wood-burning stove, keeping you cosy through the chillier Highland evenings. There is a built-in king size bed plus a child’s (10 years and under) bed that converts from the seating/ dining area.
The hut is perfectly located as a base from which to explore the Highlands, sitting on the valley side of beautiful Glen Urquhart. There is easy access to many local hiking routes (e.g. the Affric-Kintail Way runs very close to the hut) and Loch Ness with its various attractions is only five miles away. Inverness, the capital of the Highlands is a half hour drive away, providing excellent places to eat and nightlife. Glen Urquhart is rich in history and archaeology, with sites such as Corrimony Chambered Cairn dating back over 4,000 years.
  • I've stayed in lots of great airbnbs and this one is the best. Beautiful, cosy, welcoming and the attention to detail from the hosts is unsurpassed. Hugely recommend. And no, I don't know them!

  • A fantastic space where everything has been thought of. If you are looking for a unique stay don't hesitate to book. You won't be disappointed. 5 stars

    Kim2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place ! Quick response, breathtaking views. Great when on your road trip. Wish we could stay longer, everything was so well thought out and the design was beautiful . Thought we would be could, snow on the hills. Low temperatures at the start of March . But once you get that wood stove going . It’s so warm you crack a window and here the lovely stream !. It’s so easy to fill it up. Get the feet up. Tea and a book it’s perfect. Thanks for the lovely stay !

    Richard2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Sheperd's Hut is a jem hidden in the Highlands, 30 minutes from Inverness and just a few minutes from Loch Ness. It's a small but very cosy accomodation, that can accomodate two people with ease. Amenities include a stove/oven, bathroom with spacious shower, top-down wood stove and large double bed. The Hut is all made of wood, which adds to the cosyness of the place and the use of warm lights and fairy lights make it even more dreamy. If you're planning an escape in nature, then the Hut is the place for you, from there you can get to mountains, Lochs, and the sea in a matter of a short drive. And going back to the Hut in the evening will easily recharge your batteries to want more!

  • Clare's cabin is absolutely amazing she could not have done a better job if she tried. Lots of thoughtful touches and just the most magical little space with every last detail made totally beautiful. This is a stay not to be missed!

    Charlotte2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Clare’s hut is a great little getaway. After a long drive in poor conditions it was the perfect place to get inside, light a fire and sit by the window with a drop of scotch and play a board game or two. Cook a bacon butty in the morning before heading off to the hills or the forests for a long hike. It was cosy, quiet, clean and comfortable and was a great end to a wonderful weekend in Scotland.

    Jamie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • 5+ Stars!! What an amazing little gem. One of the best places we have ever stayed. The hut itself is amazing but the little touches that Clare has added just gives it so much character. Little hot water bottles and a big fluffy blanket to keep warm throughout the night, dvds to watch on the tv and little fairy lights all round. Thank you so much, definitely recommend and hopefully be back in the future 😁

The Bothy is a traditional travellers' dwelling place (bothy) of which many can be found throughout the Scottish Highlands. Betty's Bothy has recently been tastefully renovated with modern features to provide comfort for today's travellers. It's nestled in a quiet little corner of the picturesque village of Drumnadrochit on Loch Ness, with a quick walk to cafés, restaurants, shops and many tourist attractions and activities.
The side wall of The Bothy is south facing which means that the sun shines in the window at the front in the morning then slowly moves round to the side where it stays most of the day (weather permitting). This is a nice spot to sit outside and take in the view of the hills. There is a lawn to the front of The Bothy, which includes a parking space for guests' use. The Bothy is in a very pretty spot and a short walk up the hill will give you fabulous views over the loch. It is surrounded by trees, so you will hear beautiful birdsong in the morning and if you listen very carefully, owls hooting in the evening.
Drumnadrochit is a picturesque and popular tourist village set on the side of Loch Ness. There are many sights and landmarks including Urquhart Castle (open all year), which has a prominent position overlooking the loch, Corrimony Chambered Cairn, the loch itself and the breath-taking views from Meall Fuar-Mhonaidh, to name a few. There are many walks of all levels from the village and Glen Affric is 15 miles to the west of Drumnadrochit. Apart from the beauty and wildlife of Glen Affric, it's a place with endless opportunities for sightseeing and outdoor activities. There is also a Munro or two for the eager hill walker. From April to October there is an extensive list of activities available to suit everyone. The Loch cruises are particularly popular but you can also book water sports activities at the tourist Information centre or in some of the souvenir shops. Drumnadrochit has a number of excellent cafés and restaurants and The Village Green is a popular place for picnics.
  • A very well designed little house that's a joy to be in. For a small space it feels very open and is great shared between two people. We had a lovely time!

  • This is a beautiful little place to stay in a really nice location. There’s plenty to do around the local area and in Inverness. Jacqui ensured there was plenty of information on the local area and even recommended places to visit. There was plenty of tea, coffee and milk and even shortbread! Inside there’s lots to keep you entertained in the evening (DVD’s, games, tv etc). I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re into scenery and a peaceful stay. Thanks Jacqui we’ll be back soon!

    Reece2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Jacqui's place. Jacqui is a really nice and friendly host. The place was really nice and cosy with loads of games and movies to keep you entertained. The location is really peaceful and close to beautiful nature. The location was perfect for us as we didn't go in a car. The time we spent there was absolutely magical and we definitely would want to go back!

  • Bettys bothy is probably my favourite ever find on Airbnb! Location was ideal for us as we didn’t have a car, so was within walking distance to bus stop, shop and restaurant. There is no phone signal in the Bothy, which for us was perfect as it gave us some much needed time offline. There are lots of books and dvds to keep you entertained if the weather isn’t so great. We had such a comfortable stay and thoroughly enjoyed all the lovely little touches Jacqui left. Thank you!

    Megan2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice location (central highlands, right near Loch Ness), on a very quiet back-road (only one car drove past us), really clean, nice touches (complimentary shortbread!), Jacqui was really friendly with quick replies, and it was great to stay in a traditional style bothy.
