  • Was perfect for our needs. I really appreciated the super comfortable king bed. The place was spotlessly clean. Water, soda, coffee and snacks were much appreciated. We highly recommend!

  • The basement apartment is huge! It is very comfortable and clean. The neighborhood was quiet. We would definitely stay there again next time we are in the area.

  • This place was clean, big, beautiful, easy to find, and so homey! We were in the area for a wedding and didn’t want to spend the down time in a hotel room. This space was perfect! Easy check in and totally private. They even left a bottle of wine and plenty of snacks for when we returned from a long day of preparing for the wedding. Highly recommended.

  • Nancy’s place was the perfect location for our adventure. Everywhere we planned to visit was a short drive. Her place very clean and beautifully decorated.

  • This was our third stay; it’s become our go-to spot when we want a quick getaway from DC. It is on a quiet street and is a short drive to Harpers Ferry. We enjoy taking our dog to the trails and then enjoying some craft beer at Harpers Ferry Brewing — a great dog-friendly brewery with beautiful, panoramic views. Highly recommend!

    Joanne2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint and perfect for anyone not planning to spend tons of time at the AirBNB. It was clean, had all the amenities for coffee and washing up. It was exactly what I needed, a place to relax after a long day out.

    Ellie2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying at Nancy’s & we loved it as much as the first time. Check in was quick and easy, the apartment was sparkling clean, and there were a ton of personal touches and local tips. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. It’s the perfect spot for a getaway!

    Joanne2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time this year staying at Nancy's place. It was a clean, welcoming and quiet. She was kind enough to allow my father and I to both bring our dogs. It was such a nice location to reach a lot of little towns and explore Antietam. We love the feeling of stepping back in time in Burkittsville. Getting the key is super easy with the lock box on the door. The extra cot that she put in the room was a full size bed and incredibly comfortable. Way more than I was expecting! There are towels for the dogs. Lots of suggestions for things to do around town. And tons of little touches that just make it feel like home. Nancy left us extra bottled water since there was something going on with the plumbing which we never even noticed. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

    Amanda2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect place to stay while in town for a wedding- quiet and very clean. There were so many amenities and thoughtful touches- we felt very well taken care of!

    Becca2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing apartment and stay. Nancy’s place is the cleanest airbnb we ever stayed at. It’s so warm and inviting, very thoughtfully and stylishly decorated. We felt at home with the comfortable bed, comfortable, the very soft and high quality extra towels and all the basics available for a convenient stay. The place was quiet. We appreciated the simple check in and check out. Nancy is a fantastic host and extra points for accommodating our well behaved dog.

My home is in a quiet wooded area outside of town. You won’t find sidewalks, streetlights, or manicured lawns here. Instead you will find a natural, woodsy setting, occasional deer in the yard, and a million stars on clear nights.
You are welcome to use the kitchen, reading area, living room, and bathroom, as well as the deck. My house is not new, and everything isn’t perfect, but it’s comfortable and welcoming, and quite colorful.
Ten minutes from Shepherdstown, 15 minutes from Harpers Ferry and Charles Town, 20 minutes from Antietam National Battlefield Park.
  • Very quiet and chill spot close to Harpers Ferry and the surrounding areas! Mary Elise was very responsive and made checking in as simple as possible. This is a great spot for checking out the surrounding historical and natural parks nearby!

    Angel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Mary’s. It’s in a perfect location between Shepardstown and harpers ferry. Very cozy room in a secluded neighborhood, perfect for a weekend trip

  • Definitely our new favorite option for accommodation whenever we're back in WV!

  • Mary's place is great for a place to crash when you're traveling. Mary was very kind and accommodating. Would recommend.

  • Brad and Mary were the most delightful hosts and I will definitely go back there when I come to Harper's Ferry next April (assuming there isn't a reservation already in place for someone else.) Getting there was quite an adventure, on beautiful country roads that just BEGGED for a sports car! Oscar, the tuxedo cat, was the icing on the cake - thanks, Oscar!!! :-) Also, the location was perfect for visiting both Harper's Ferry and Shepherdstown - both were no more than a ten minutes drive. Thank you, Mary and Brad (and Oscar, Pandora, et al.)

    Jane2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was a wonderful host. Communication with her was very clear. The place was very affordable and therefore I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to use the bedroom for a Good night sleep after exploring Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry. It was so nice not to have to spend alot to crash with my 2 dogs. She also gave very good advice on restaurants.

This rental is great for anyone seeking a get away to Loudoun's Wine County and surrounding areas. At the foothills of Short Hill Mountain you will rest in this quiet space near wineries, historic Harper's Ferry and the Potomac River. Load your bike, kayak, and hiking boots and enjoy all that Western Loudoun has to offer. You’ll love this place with 2 adjacent wineries to the farm & a 3 acre stocked pond, grab a book and hit the highway to Western Loudoun and welcome an opportunity for serenity.
This unique space is located within one of our farm properties and is a second story apartment overlooking our pastures. Typical guests can observe goats and pigs foraging on our property.
  • Fantastic! The apartment is larger than we expected with great natural light and wonderful views of the farm and the greenery. It was comfortable, easy to find, and super close to Harper's Ferry and surrounding wineries. It was a great escape from the chaos of the city. Highly recommended!

  • Our stay at Spring Hill farm was fantastic and everything we needed. Peace and quiet, serene+private views, fabulous whirlpool tub. Everything was very clean and orderly, check in was a breeze and the farm-fresh bacon and eggs + coffee was such a lovely touch. We walked over to Maggie malick’s wine caves, beautiful!

Barn apartment in the upper level of a bank barn. Fourteen miles from downtown Leesburg, 5 miles from Harper's Ferry, 1 mile from VA-9 Appalachian trail head. Close to Harper's Ferry Adventure Center, wineries, breweries, tubing, kayaking, hiking, farms. Full kitchen. Unplugged - no satellite, TV, or Internet. There is cell signal. Rate includes 6% Virginia state tax and 7% Loudoun County hotel tax. NOTE: see rethink9.com for construction and traffic issues expected until summer 2021.
The apartment has a spacious MBR with queen bed and a second bedroom with twin. There is a loveseat that folds out into basically a mattress on the floor, mostly suitable for kids or young people. There is no separate dining room - the kitchen has an extra counter with barstools. The living room is small, with a little couch and two chairs. It has a TV/DVD player. Note there is no satellite or cable, you will want to bring movies (there is a small collection in the apartment). This is an unplugged experience. We have coyote, bear, hawks, various waterfowl, amphibians, foxes, groundhogs, weasels, raccoons and opossums, although many are shy and rare to see. There is a great open space for sky viewing, and you may catch us out there sometimes.
There are many local attractions and recreation spots within a few minutes drive. Many of them are in the guidebook. However, the guidebook doesn't let me add events and activities that don't have a physical address, so here are some you might want to know about. Right here on site, local astrophotographer Andrew Baker conducts sky tours and demonstrates the techniques and equipment he uses to catch the amazing shots on his website. Contact him to arrange a sky tour here: https://thebackyardcosmos.wixsite.com/astro/tours Or on Facebook (you can also see some awesome photos there): https://www.facebook.com/thebackyardcosmos/ You can fly over the area: https://balikoutdoors.com/nature-flightseeing Visit the Mountain Heritage Arts and Crafts festival if you're here one of the two weekends (spring and fall): http://www.mhacfestival.org/ As a former 4H parent and daughter of a dairy clubber, the Loudoun County Fair has a special place in my heart. Learn about farming, livestock, and what beef fitting is. Oh, and maybe go on some rides or see a show. :) http://loudouncountyfair.com/
  • Great quiet getaway to relax with awesome views and scenery. Can’t wait to come back.

    Ethan2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nicely finished, clean, loft apartment inside of a barn. The location is great for a getaway and you can see the sky well at night. Very quiet here. Harper’s ferry is close by and Antietam isn’t too far either. Aside from those two destinations though we didn’t find much else to do which was fine with us. Pam responded to messages promptly, but we didn’t need to contact her for anything other than check in/check out. All in all we had a great time.

    Jonathan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice location off the beaten path but close enough to everything

    Joe2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described! We had a great time!

    Erin2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This spot truly is a gem. Our state felt very private and intimate in the beautiful wooded setting we found ourselves in. Pam was a gracious host and provided numerous amenities to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. For anyone coming to visit, I would just recommend you drive VERY slowly up the gravel path up to the apartment. Our small car hit a few noisy bumps on the way up. That’s what we expected from a spot tucked back in nature though so as long as you come prepared and drive cautiously, you’ll be fine! We loved it here and you will too. Thank you, Pam!

    Brian2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This location was so beautiful and peaceful. The scenery was one we enjoyed waking up to every morning. Lots of natural sunlight so if you need darkness in the morning, bring a mask. (Waking up to the sunshine was amazing for me though!) The place was spacious and very nice for a barn apartment. This was a great way to disconnect and just relax. Wifi was a bit spotty, as well as cell signal but honestly, it didn't bother us because we were looking for a peaceful stay. There's a vineyard close by too so definitely take advantage of that. Check-in was SO easy and the host communicated quickly. We would definitely come back.

    Amanda2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a retreat away. Great property for kids or just for anyone wanting to relax. The view of the neighboring vineyard is beautiful.

    Rebecca2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Pam’s place is beautiful. If you’re interested in birds there were many species spotted out the kitchen window! I saw my first northern harrier and mockingbird! There are several cute vineyards in the area, plenty to see and do. The barn cats are adorable! We had a nice fire at the fire pit one night and listened to all the sounds of the mountain. Overall great experience!

  • Fantastic stay - cannot recommend highly enough! Centrally located within walking distance to downtown Harpers Ferry and the surrounding trails. The room is its own mini-apartment and is very clean. Comes stocked with a coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, and some light snacks. Chris was a gracious host who was happy to talk me through a map of the local area, highlighting his recommended restaurants and how to best reach the local trailheads. A go-to spot for any hiker!

  • Clean, fresh space in great location. Brand new and the most comfortable couches !! So much I wish I had them in my own home !! Very quiet peaceful neighborhood. Deck and patio furniture needs good cleaning but it was to buggy out there anyway ! Highly recommend !!!

    Janice2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience!! Everything in the place is very nice - new kitchen appliances, nice floors, and very comfortable mattresses. Very detailed check-in information that made this process easy. We were also given a direct # for the host to call with any questions. We had a bigger group, and the open layout of the kitchen/living area was great for everyone being together. Many air mattresses, blankets, and supplies like toilet paper and paper towels were very available! A couple minor things to note: -Water from the faucets smells sulfuric, which the add does warn about. A water cooler like they have in office buildings is provided, so it's not really an issue. -You are in the woods, so there are some bugs outside on the porch/deck, but that is to be expected and did not detract from my experience.

On a very quiet neighborhood street, this room is in a walk out finished basement behind a historic 1860’s log cabin. Your room is in an addition, not inside the cabin itself. It is very quick & easy access to rte 70 entrance.
You have access to bedroom and bathroom, and there is a small fridge and a coffee maker in the room.
Very close and easy access to Rte 70. Also very peaceful and quiet neighborhood location
  • A nice little room to sleep in with a comfy bed. The space heater does a good job of keeping it warm.

  • Beautiful, quiet neighborhood. The house is a lovely place to relax and the area is fantastic if you’re into history.

    Astrid2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this the day before our travel date and Dimitry was very quick to respond with all of the information we needed for the house. We found the house to be in a quiet neighborhood close to several outdoor adventure parks, the Appalachian Trail, and Harper's Ferry. We found enough towels and bedding in the house for my husband and I, though we did bring our own. There is also now a coffee maker and several selections of teas and some coffee for you to drink. If you come when it is hot, I would recommend you turn on the AC units in the bedroom and downstairs when you arrive to start cooling off the place. The mattress in the main bedroom is a full size/double (as stated in the listing) and is rather firm. There is also a twin bed in the front room with a very soft mattress. We would stay here again.

  • My family loved the place. We were on a visit to DC to get a private tour of the Senate and Congress and we found this little hidden gem. If you want to see some nature this is the place for you. Deer were outside both mornings, along with the Raccoons. It was very quiet and serene! Would definitely rent this place again! It's just as it's listed.

Charming Studio Guest Suite located 5 minutes from Historic Harpers Ferry and 10 minutes to Charles Town/Hollywood Casino. Close to Virginia and Maryland wineries and Breweries. Hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, tubing and rafting all close by on the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. Rural neighborhood off the beaten path. Please note that there are steep stairs leading to this second floor suite and it is not handicap accessible. This is a non-smoking property.
Wonderful new build studio suite on the detached garage. All new inside and out !
Please note that our neighborhood is rural. The back yard is home to lots of deer who think it’s their yard! And the neighbor “cat lady” takes in lots of cats. Don’t be surprised if one is on the deck when you come out but don’t let them in! They will over run us!!!
  • What a beautiful space! Christine is extremely responsive and her husband was there when we arrived to show us the space! It was externally clean and welcome! A perfect space for a weekend getaway!

    Jen2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had the best experience staying here! The location was handy and I appreciated the rural area for the peace and quiet. Even had the company of deer in the early morning passing through the back yard! Everything about this place is focused on the traveler and being able to enjoy the area in whatever capacity you desire! Highly recommend staying here!

  • If you are looking for a wonderful weekend getaway and want a place to base yourself between Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown, you’ll definitely want to check out this lovely flat! My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights, and couldn’t be happier. It is a spacious studio apartment and is within easy driving distance to all of the sites in the area. Although we could self check-in, Christine kindly waited for us although we had a late arrival. The studio was stocked with snacks, coffee, and bathroom amenities and everything was sparkling clean and brand-new. And the flannel bedsheets were heavenly! There’s also a porch at the entrance which has beautiful views of the rolling countryside below. Wish we could’ve stayed longer, but still had a wonderful visit. Thank you for everything, Christine!

  • Christine and her husband were amazing. They let us park in their actual drive way because our truck is a little long, walked us through everything we needed to know, and gave great recommendations! The little touches of the place really go a long way and I can’t wait to come back. We had the perfect weekend thanks to our hosts!

    Heidi2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Christine' s place was amazing! She greeted us and was so friendly with local tips for us. Harper's Ferry Haven was clean and beautiful! We did not want to leave! We are already planning a trip for this summer. Can't wait to go back.

  • Taylor Den/ Joshua's Place was a wonderful place to stay. Located within minutes of Harper's Ferry, and the Harper's Ferry NP Visitors Center and very near the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. Rafting, etc. The apartment was comfortable, sparkling clean, and perfect for a couple, or family of three. Outdoor space with gas grill and fire ring during nice weather. (We were here in late February, pretty chilly to be outside, though) Very quiet neighborhood, access to great hiking, including a portion of the Appalachian Trail. • Terri is a great host. She is very attentive and as nice a person as you’ll ever meet. I stayed at her place for an extended period so I got the opportunity to interact with her often and I enjoyed getting to know her. She is a chef so I was lucky enough to enjoy some of her creations. And they were amazing! She is a great cook and a good friend.

    Tony2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Terri due to a business relocation to the Lovettsville area. I really enjoy the country feel of that property and location. From that home I could view the mountains, watch beautiful sunsets and see deer every day in the yard. The 11 acre setting is just beautiful. Terri is a wonderful host. In the time that I spent with her she has become a friend. She treated me like family which felt great having just made a long distance move. And she is a wonderful chef!!

    Tony2019-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a clean, very quiet, private place, then this is it. If you can stand no TV, no internet, just a place to gather your thoughts, you have found it (writer's paradise). Terri had everything ready when I arrived. We had lots of rain this weekend but barely heard it outside. AC kept everything comfortable. Oh, and great pillows! Just a great experience. Thanks to Terri.

    Wythe2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Terri’s place! The listing was very accurate and Terri’s special touches were really nice. Check in was a breeze and Terri was very quick to answer messages. The home itself is beautiful, with a nice spacious kitchen to cook in. Location is convenient to access Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown, or a number of wineries. We would definitely love to visit again!

  • I enjoyed my stay at Terri's place. She was quick to reply to my messages. The place was exactly as she advertised! I fully recommend staying here and enjoying one of the wineries nearby.

  • Terri’s place was very clean and spacious. The countryside setting makes it very quiet, yet it is still reasonably close to Leesburg and beyond. I thought the price was very reasonable compared to local hotel rates.

This 109sqft tiny house is cute, cozy, and the ultimate tiny house experience. If you've been wanting to check out tiny living, this is the place. It's not for everyone so read on to find out if it's for you. Small entrance door, small kitchen, ladder to the loft, compost toilet and small compact shower. Perfect for one or two people looking for a quiet getaway to contemplate life, read, write or enjoy the outdoors. The ladder weight limit is 200 lbs per person.
This is a very small space with all the essentials. The door is about half the width of a regular door. The kitchen consists of a mini fridge, tea kettle, french press, and hot plate. The bathroom has a compact shower and a composting toilet. There is a small fold down table, A/C, an electric space heater that I tested out on a 20 degree night. The sleeping space is located in a loft where you will need to climb a steep ladder to access.
We are 1/2 mile from the C&O Towpath and Potomac river and less than 2 miles from Harpers Ferry and the Appalachian Trail. Our location makes this perfect for couples, families or groups looking to hike, bike, kayak, or raft on the river. We are also next door to a horseback riding farm. Just a short drive away you can reach various National and State Parks including Antietam National Battlefield, Washington Monument State Park.
  • The tiny house is so cozy and delightful. My partner and I were only there for one night but we loved it. The property is gorgeous and it is very convenient to Harpers Ferry. Tara had excellent local tips.

    Gabby2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Tara’s place. My boyfriend and I were looking for a cozy getaway to recharge, and the tiny home was perfect. On a chilly November weekend, we walked into the tiny house and Tara was nice enough to have turned the heat on for us already. Lots of thoughtful touches - the kitchen had tea, coffee, even emergency ramen and chicken noodle soup. The shower worked great, the loft bed was super cozy, and we were warm all night. Awesome book collection too. Location is 2 minutes from the Maryland Heights trailhead parking lot and 10-15 minutes into the main area with restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend!

  • Tara’s tiny house exceeded our expectations! The location was wonderful- very close to ideal hiking spots as well as the Historic Harper’s Ferry town. Tara was responsive and provided excellent food and hiking trail recommendations. Don’t miss the Weverton Cliffs for a scenic nature walk and Beans in the Belfry for a breakfast and coffee with some character. Otherwise, enjoy the spunky rooster and goat friends outside of the accommodation of Tara’s comfy tiny house that has all of the necessities for a comfy getaway!

  • What a nice oasis in nature. I loved the chickens running around as I got there. Kitchen is nicely set up. Very comfortable and clean. I have spent quite a bit of time in the area and discovered a road along the Potomac that I had no idea existed. Hosts were super-responsive.

Rustic 1870's farmhouse in Loudoun, VA, off a scenic byway near Historic Harper's Ferry, wineries, casino, restaurants, farms, and adventure parks. Send a message for alternate dates, longer term, and special requests.
The home is a very unique and rustic log farmhouse built circa 1870. The home has all of the modern conveniences but retains much of its original rustic character. The home is in a valley between two mountains, Short Hill to the East and the Blue Ridge to the West. The house has a large room for relaxing, and dining. A full kitchen, two bedrooms, and a sitting area. There is a large covered front porch with chairs for relaxing. The porch has a view of the vineyard across the street, and is great for sipping wine and watching the cars go by.
The best part about the Western section of Loudoun is the many activities, history, wineries, and scenery. A rural setting with quick access to several towns and cities. The wineries often have festivals with music and dining. During warmer weather amazing BBQ can be had on either end of the strip. The house backs up to over 600 acres of conservation and parkland. The Appalachian trail and hiking are accessible from the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship, as well as other locations. There are many hikes available around the area. There are several adventure parks for outdoor adventures, as well as many historical parks. There is a lot to do and see in the area.
  • Christopher’s place was perfect for a weekend getaway to Harper’s Ferry. It’s a great location to get to many areas quickly and easily.

  • Homestead was an amazing location to stay at. Not only was it close to Harper’s Ferry and all the wineries you could dream of, it had its own amazing charm. To be in such a historical home that maintains a lot of the original hardware and charm was so fun. Plus he has updated heat in the upstairs which was fantastic for the cold nights.

    Katherine2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’s farm is amazing! From the updated farmhouse with everything you need, to the amazing views and farm store with friendly barn cats to greet you, this farm stay is not to be missed! Very close to Harper’s Ferry, hiking, Purcellville, and tons of wineries!! We will be back!

    Melissa2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house is larger than expected with a cute kitchen and a huge bath tub soaker. We were all very comfortable in the homey space. It was clean, had lots of info for guests new to the area, and games ! It was a pretty location for going to wineries and relaxing in a space away from town.

    Zoe2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was my third stay at Christopher’s place, and as before it was perfect. His home is so comfortable and full of character, you can’t help but feel right at home. Perfect location to kickback and relax, with plenty of historical sites and wineries to explore. This time I particularly enjoyed my visit to Antietam Battlefield (25 minutes away) and to Notaviva Vineyards (right down the street). Great stay and a great value!

    Glenda2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Christopher’s place for a girls’ weekend and the farm house was a perfect spot for us. It’s about a 20 minute drive to town, but the wineries and other outdoor attractions are very close and the location out in the country makes it super peaceful. The farm house has lots of original features to keep its charm, but it has been updated so that you’re perfectly comfortable and have everything you need. Beautiful gardens and farm around the house. Christopher was very easy to communicate with and helpful. Definitely recommend his place as a home base for visiting wineries or other outdoor adventures nearby!

    Melissa2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! We had a fantastic stay in this old farm house. Wake up watching the sunrise over the wineyard across the street, sipping coffee on the veranda. Chris' turkeys are an absolute treat, they are so curious and made my weekend! This house is located in the heart of wine country, with so much to do in the area. Lots of great hiking trails, history to explore, breweries and more. The house was cozy and had everything we needed. I would absolutely love to come back!

The details and thoughtful touches were great, and I indulged in the jacuzzi tub after a long hike. At this price, it’s a total steal. Very pastoral, ~3 miles from Shepherdstown and ~ 7 miles from Harpers Ferry, WV.
The main farm house dates to 1790. The summer kitchen was remodeled into a guest house / greenhouse in 2009. Two twin beds (or pushed together to make one king bed) are available.
The rolling rural landscape here features mostly farms and estate homes. We live aside the old road between Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry. This road was used notably during the Civil War by Hill's division on it's way from Harpers Ferry to Antietam on the afternoon of 17 September 1862.
  • I can't say enough wonderful things about this place! It is the sweetest, coziest, happiest oasis. The property itself is beautiful and waking up to a view of lovely farmland and sheep was so nice, and the guest house itself is even better than I expected. So many detailed touches and Cindy provided us with anything we needed. We plan to return, definitely recommend!!

  • This place is amazing. Perfect in every way. It was cozy, unique, private, spotless, comfortable, and welcoming! We loved the whole layout. Everything you would possibly need was there, including snacks. Cindy is so warm and friendly and she cares about her guests. We enjoyed our stay so much we plan to go back in warmer weather to enjoy the patio as well. HIghly recommend this guest house!!

    Neal2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay , very nice people and very accommodating. Also the space is perfect and they make sure you have everything you might need. Highly recommend and hope to stay again sometime soon.

    Carlos2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy and her home are absolute gems. She welcomed us and our dog with open arms, providing us with hiking and restaurant recommendations, and providing the dog with a safe and fenced in area to run, which was a welcome and unexpected bonus. The home is so cozy and full of plants. We woke up with the sunlight and to sheep baaing; our dog in particular loved the plant room. Cindy left us breakfast, coffee, and all the utensils we needed . I plan to come back here again soon! I left restored and rested.

    Rene2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy was a tremendous and extremely welcoming host! Her unit is very clean, comfortable, and well-organized, with lots of beautifully-kept plants in the sunroom. There were many additional amenities when we arrived, and the unit has everything you could need. The unit is a separate guest house on the back of the property, so Cindy is always there if you need but she definitely respected our privacy. We particularly enjoyed walking around the property in the morning with our dog and seeing the sheep that Cindy and her family care for. She is surely a super host, and we would highly recommend the unit to anyone looking for a calm getaway in a beautiful area!

    Drew2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Much needed get away. Cindy and her husband were extremely warm and welcoming. I was shocked to see how much they had supplied for us when we first got there! Relaxing view of the green house from the bed room and enjoyed a cozy night by the bon fire! There isn't a kitchen, but we got crafty and enjoyed some roasted red pepper soup and broccoli that we made in the microwave!

This Cottage House is located near the Potomac River in quaint Knoxville, MD. It is very close to Harpers Ferry, WV, Antietam National Battlefield, historic Sharpsburg, MD, the C&O canal and other local attractions. There are 2 homes available on the property. This cottage has a rustic charm and includes a full modern kitchen with island seating for 3, 1 full bath, 2 half baths, washer/dryer and sleeps 8 comfortably. Pets are welcomed (small fee) but must be crated when unattended.
NOTE: We did initially have an issue with a sulfur odor in the hot water only. While the water is, and was, perfectly safe, we have now replaced the water heater and treated the hot water so the condition has been corrected. The unit offers a large open space for enjoyable social gatherings and views of the mountain. The common area has oak hardwood flooring, and the bedrooms are floored with laminate/carpet. A front porch offers additional space for relaxing and entertaining, and the adjacent "nest" deck (shared by both houses) provides wonderful views of the mountains. The living area includes a convertible sofa that sleeps 2 comfortably on a new Ikea sleeper sofa. The bedrooms on the main floor have new memory foam queen size beds. The main level also provides a full bath with tub/shower combo, and an additional half bath. The quaint upstairs loft has full size bed and a half bath. All the furnishings and linens are new!
Just 2 miles from the property, nestled in the rising foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains next to the Potomac River sits the Victorian railroad town of Brunswick. Conveniently located approximately 60 minutes from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Brunswick boasts glorious homes, an active city center, shopping, historical sites, a one of a kind railroad museum, dining and recreational activities. Brunswick is very proud of its rich transportation heritage and you can experience it for yourself by visiting the Brunswick Railroad Museum or participating in Brunswick Railroad Days in October, featuring live entertainment, train rides, model train show, crafters, food, and much more. Because the Potomac River is only a short walk from the downtown shops, recreational opportunities abound. The waterfront offers fishing, boating, camping, kayaking and canoeing, and the C&O Canal towpath is excellent for hikers, bikers and horseback riders. Finally, no visit to Brunswick is complete without stopping by Beans in the Belfry, a café located in a 100 year old, historic, restored church building nestled in downtown Brunswick.
  • The place was clean, comfortable and close to all the great hiking and other fun things to do around Harper’s Ferry and the C&O Canal. We enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed for our weekend getaway. We’ll definitely try to come back in the warmer months! Thanks, Joe!

    Linel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time during our stay! The house slept our whole group comfortably. Joe was responsive when we had questions. Would definitely recommend.

  • I really recommend this place!

    Anitha2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I really enjoyed Joe's place! There is enough room for everyone to spread out and have their own space and the location is great as it's close to a lot of hiking spots as well as Harper's ferry. The only negative was that the water smelled like sulfur so you may want to bring your own drinking water.

    Jennifer2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The space was cozy and clean. We had a wonderful time

    Elizabeth2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Joe is an amazing host! Consider renting the house and bungalow at the same time for a sweet reunion. Also, be sure to head up to the top shared deck and enjoy the view- even grill a thing or two!

  • Our stay at Gary’s house was wonderful. The place was very clean, and Gary was extremely responsive in answering any questions we had. A few basic pantry staples were provided, and Gary was accommodating in working out an early check in and late check out. The home was within walking distance to downtown Harper’s Ferry so we didn’t need to drive anywhere once we arrived. We will be back to stay with Gary in the future!

    Annie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gary is awesome. He was super nice, quick to respond to any questions I had, and left some great recommendations. The house was perfect. Sparkling clean, tastefully decorated, and had every possible amenity I could have wanted. What a wonderful location also. It's right off the main street leading down into the historic part of Harper's ferry. One of the best restaurants I've eaten at in a while is literally a 3 minute walk down the hill(Hamilton's). And from the front porch or back gazebo you can see the river. Will definitely be back!

  • John’s place is absolutely fantastic. A beautiful historic home with wonderful breakfast and such genuinely nice people. Awesome location to explore lower town as well. I Highly recommend and would definitely come back.

    Lindsey2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • John is such a warm, thoughtful host. The b&b has a wonderful presidential theme. He is beautifully located up the hill from the downtown.

    Lauren2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • John was a great host! We booked a last-minute weekend trip to Harper's Ferry and arrived via train, after the stated check-in time, and John graciously offered to pick us up from the train station. His place is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located (even without a car). We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace in the evenings, and his dog Lucy is so sweet!

    Stephanie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • John's home is a fantastic value in Harpers Ferry. The rooms are gorgeous, the hospitality from John and Jody is warm and cheerful, the breakfast is filling, and Lucy the dog is a highlight in her own right.

    Dave2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful 19th century home that's located perfectly between the "uptown" and "downtown" areas of Harpers Ferry and Bolivar. John, Jody, and Lucy were incredible hosts and made us feel welcome right away. Nothing beat the hot breakfast in the morning and returning back to a cozy fire after dinner. We hope to be back soon!

    Ben2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time visiting John’s Airbnb, and once again it was a relaxing and perfect experience. The breakfast he served up was delicious as always and was incredibly responsive to any updates or questions we had. I will always recommend John’s Airbnb for a Harper’s Ferry getaway.

    Sammy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • John, Jody, and Lucy (the pup) were all wonderful hosts. There was always a fire going in the fireplace which was perfect for the weather and the breakfasts were delicious! What a treat to spend time with Lucy-she is the sweetest, most gentle dog ever. John and Jody had lots of recommendations for restaurants to try and were truly committed to making sure we had everything we needed to fully enjoy our stay. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone visiting Harper’s Ferry!

    Laura2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I will absolutely be back. I can’t imagine more people haven’t found out about this place! The Olde White House In is by far the best place to stay in all of Harpers Ferry! John, Miss Jody, and lovely Miss Lucy B Hayes are so welcoming and hospitable. A new favorite vacation destination that I will frequent from now on. If you’re deciding between any other place in Harpers Ferry and here, it HAS to be here! As a perk, their breakfasts are out of this world!

  • I will be back again and again. I travel for work around this area a few times a year and was looking for something affordable yet with some amenities. First, Kim & Rich are so thoughtful and friendly. I felt like I was coming home to a close family friend. They also gave me an abundance of tips for the area. There's plenty of breweries, wineries and restaurants nearby (20 minute drive to Frederick, which can also be an easy uber). They had a mini fridge in the room which gave me plenty of storage for all the meal prep I brought for the week. I could even do a load of laundry before I left! So many little touches that made this space great, and I look forward to coming up to this area again...whether that be for work or fun :)

It was the perfect little get away for our mini vaca to relax and just enjoy being together out of town. Chris was very helpful and fast at responding when we needed help. • Great place and great hosts

    Christopher2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Air and Chris’s space is amazing. The pictures don’t do it justice. The decor is so thoughtful, colorful and cozy. The hot tub was the perfect way to end the night. Their home is right next to Harpers Ferry Brewing which offered some great craft beers and food trucks with delicious food. Air and Chris thought of everything, down to providing a wine cooler/warmer that was perfect when we brought back some room temp white wines after dinner. The space is much larger than the photos may lead you to believe. So believe it or not my favorite part was the bathroom mirror. It was huge and had a LED ring of bright light that was PERFECT for a makeup junkie like myself who was terrified there wouldn’t be a well lit area. Harpers Ferry has so much to offer that we certainly plan to return to Air and Chris’s again!

  • The pictures don't do it justice. It was such a beautiful drive out to the country, and I really feel like they thought of everything, from the restaurant recommendations to little touches like having a chess board and air hockey. And of course -- the VIEWS!!! Lovely little place great for a couple or a small family to get away from the city for a weekend

The Master Suite in this antebellum church-turned-getaway is cozy and unique, a respite for hikers and bikers seeking solace along nearby trails or Civil War history buffs looking for a rustic getaway. Our modest Abbey offers basic, no-frills amenities in a rural area with historic significance. Guests are walking distance from the Appalachian Trail, C&O Canal, and Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. A nearby train station can also take business travelers to Washington D.C. in an hour.
The Abbey itself was home to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran congregation until about the 1970's. The previous owners began converting it into a single family dwelling after they acquired it from the congregation, reimagining the choir loft as open living space and adding a third floor to serve as a loft. The stone structure and six stained glass windows were diligently preserved, and french doors were added to provide access to a back porch with south-facing views overlooking the Potomac River valley. We acquired it in 2018 and added several improvements, including new exterior paint, gutters, water heater, and HVAC with smart thermostats. The Master Suite is on the first floor, tucked away from the busiest parts of the house with its own bathroom. The bed is a Sleep Number full/double mattress made with flannel sheets and plenty of pillows. An oak desk can accommodate business travelers or writers on retreat and the large vanity opens up space and multiplies the light coming in from two stained glass windows. Our family includes small children and two friendly dogs, and guests are welcome to share as much or little time with us as they please. We love offering hospitality but be advised you will be sharing space with us, it is not a home to yourself. To maximize your experience, let us know what you're looking for in terms of privacy and interaction and we will try to make it happen. The kitchen and laundry are available for guests, but keep in mind fridge space may be limited (that's part of the reason we limit reservations to three nights or less). We provide light snacks and coffee stuff inside the room, but no meals are provided with your reservation. You're welcome to join us for dinners, just let us know if we can expect you.
Knoxville, Maryland is an unincorporated village that was trapped in time when the railroad companies decided against putting a train station there. As a historic district, it contributes significant value to the surrounding area and many buildings, including the former Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, have been carefully preserved. The 1848 cornerstone of this converted church suggests that its Lutheran congregation was one of the first to arrive when Knoxville was an antebellum boom town. As indicated by a second, western cornerstone, the congregation moved to the current site in 1873 after the Civil War. The village eventually settled into peaceful mediocrity after the Civil War when the railway station and its industrial clamor went to nearby Brunswick. Knoxville peaked in the 1920s as a Prohibition-snubbing distiller's paradise but declined quickly after alcohol became legal once again. The church shuttered in the 1970s and the building was rehabilitated in the early 2000s as a country getaway. Just a brisk walk along the Potomac River from the tourist attractions in Harpers Ferry, WV makes the Appalachian Abbey a great place for hikers, bikers, and pilgrims.
  • Really enjoyed our stay at Appalachian Abbey! The space was beautiful and relaxing, both indoors and out on the deck, and was comfortable even in the summer heat. I’d book it again in a heartbeat next time we visit the area!

    Emily2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Appalachian Abbey was the perfect place for our holiday vacation. It was beautiful and spacious, and there was a space heater and plenty of blankets to help us combat the cold. It was only 5-ish minutes from a grocery store and from Harper's Ferry, so we had plenty to do during our stay!

  • This was an amazing experience such a beautiful little Abby. Logan is a great host and will answer any questions you have very quickly. I really enjoyed myself.

Enjoy more than 1000 square feet of private living space. This basement studio is light-filled and comfortably furnished for your enjoyment. Play a game of foosball or pick a board game. Watch a movie in the private 5-seat theater or enjoy amazing views from the patio. And, when you want to get out, local wineries, breweries, restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, historic sites, and entertainment will provide memorable experiences.
You'll have use of the kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, and single-serve brewer; however, please note that this is not a full kitchen and you should not expect to be able to prepare meals here.
We are near the quaint Town of Lovettsville and historic Waterford Village. Check out the Waterford General Store or Back Street Brews coffee shop in Lovettsville. Harpers Ferry WV, Brunswick MD, and Leesburg VA feature fascinating historic landmarks. Local dining and shopping opportunities abound but the favorite destinations in our area are local wineries, craft breweries, and outdoor activities.
  • Great location, beautiful scenery, amazing hosts...everything as expected. Thank you Eve & Ryan!

  • I cannot tell you how perfect our stay was! From the moment we checked in to the moment that we left, we were definitely in awe. First off, there is not much that you will need to bring as this listing has everything you’ll need. Our stay felt like home away from home with all the toiletries and linens as well as special touches like snacks and treats. Each morning I was able to make delicious coffee with the items already there. The theater is on your own private level, which will not be a common area that is shared. Any questions we had were answered right away and kindly! We were informed perfectly on how to check in and we definitely were sad to leave on our last day. You cannot go wrong staying here as it will exceed your expectations of what already seems like an awesome listing! Every room was immaculately clean and ready for use. We didn’t have kids but they even had so many accommodations for young ones. (Cribs, bottles etc.) Even though we are both adults, we enjoyed the fussball table and board games Etc. If I keep writing it’ll be too much to read so we just want to say thank you for our stay as we cannot wait to revisit soon!

Want to get away from the craziness of life for a short time~then our guest house is for you! Lose yourself among the lush greenery and stately trees of our little taste of paradise. The best part is that you are still only 10 minutes away from downtown Frederick where there are so many unique shops and restaurants. Washington DC and Baltimore are less than an hour away.
  • I had an amazing stay in the blue cottage. The cottage is surrounded by nature, totally private. Lots of fountains and sitting areas with fire pits around the property, a swing, horses and a lovely barncat. You get a great view of the sunrise from the top of the driveway, and right around the corner on Cherry Ln is a spectacular sunset view. Close to Frederick. The cottage itself is stylish, had a fully stocked fridge, espresso maker, and chocolates. It was overall spectacular. I will be back!

    Ryann2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our stay very much. Very secluded at the back of the property. Even saw a family of deer in the morning.

    Steve2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was absolutely amazing. Because of previous guest reviews, we had high expectations, and these expectations were definitely reached! The cottage is tucked away among trees, along with beautiful landscaping and a wonderful wooden walkway lit by colored lights. It was very private and just what my husband and I were looking for. It felt like a little oasis of our own!! Huge windows overlook a glistening trickling stream, and the sun sheds beautiful light into the room in the morning. The room itself is not only wonderfully and tastefully decorated, but extremely clean and well-stocked with everything from towels to a fridge full of every beverage you can think of (including half-and-half for morning coffee!). The shower felt quite luxurious with a fancy shower head and nice soaps, as well! My husband and I also loved sipping on the DELICIOUS coffee from the fanciest coffee machine I've ever seen while rocking on the bench out on the porch overlooking the previously-mentioned landscaping and bright green surrounding trees. 5-second version: Extremely private, amazing coffee, beautifully decorated, wonderful hosts; Stay at this cottage!

  • ABSOLUTELY AMAZING hospitality and retreat!!! I want to share this adorable getaway with all my friends, yet selfishly keep a secret for ourselves, lol. My boyfriend and I will probably turn into frequent guests. All of the small touches did not go over looked. The Ghiradelli chocolate that I devoured is my favorite (How did they know?). I felt like sleeping beauty on the comfortable bed and linens. The masks were perfect for applying to avoid the beaming morning sun. Yet the views were so tranquil and serene. I meditated by the stream. Mark was gracious enough to let me borrow his yoga mat. Entering the cottage with spa like music was a refreshing and invited a tranquil energy flow. We appreciated all of the recommendations for local bars and restaurants. It rained hard the entire weekend and Mark even offered to dry our clothes for us in his personal dryer. My boyfriend greatly appreciated the gifted beer and fresh zucchini from your garden! I could on but i want you to have your own amazing experience. Mark and Kim, thank you for your generosity and your sweet kindness. We are grateful!

    Tatiana2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay in this adorable cottage. Mark was very attentive, checking in frequently enough to see if we were OK but also letting us have our privacy. The cottage itself is very cute, well decorated, with an amazing view of the woods. Amazing coffee machine! Was great meeting the dog & seeing the horses on the property. Have already recommended to friends and would definitely come again.

    Maite2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely describe Mark and Kim’s place as whimsical! Everything was wonderful and very clean! We enjoyed our stay very much!

    Kelly2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Honeysuckle cottage for an overnight getaway with 2 college girlfriends. It’s tucked away in a gorgeous little spot about 15 minutes from Downtown Frederick, which allowed us both easy access to great restaurants and feeling a million miles away from reality. The cottage was immaculate and beautifully furnished. We were obsessed with every detail, from the rustic light fixtures to the fragrant honeysuckle hand soap. Mark and Kim were great hosts and quickly responded to questions and suggestions for local restaurants, wineries, and breweries, even offering to arrange a private tasting with an up and coming neighborhood brewer. We spent our afternoon at Big Cork winery, a scenic 25 minute drive away, at their recommendation. It was just what we were looking for. Couldn’t recommend this experience more highly!

Guest suite is part of a restored, historic log cabin. The cabin, with it's own private entrance, is connected to a larger farm house. The secluded seven acre property, located on a lightly traveled country road, features a creek, pond, barn and extensive landscaping-a great place to relax. Note that while we do have WiFi, the signal can be weak at times.
The guest suite is two stories tall with two bedrooms and bath upstairs. Downstairs has a den, library, and full bath. There are three stone fireplaces in the cabin. There is an under counter refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The front porch has a swing and rocking chairs.
This is a quiet, rural setting with much privacy. We are close to many wineries, brew pubs, great restaurants, the Appalachian Trail and the Harper's Ferry Adventure Park.
  • Host are wonderful. Not as much privacy as I would have liked. But comfortable setting.

  • Wally and Carolyn hosted my family at the last minute, providing a fabulous place for a mini-reunion. I had family coming in from across the country for a memorial service and my husband came down with the flu. Rather than have people stay in a house with the flu, I looked for an alternative. Wally and Carolyn's place was nearby, and Wally quickly answered my questions about whether it would be ok to use it as a gathering place for family. I booked the reservation and family members arrived a few hours later. It was a charming place in the country, with antiques and a gas fireplace. Wally was a great host, sharing stories of reconstructing the log cabin and doing renovations. They were very accommodating about having lots of family members visiting late into the evening. They really saved the weekend! My family wants to stay there again next time they come to visit. Thank you Wally and Carolyn!

    Becky2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is lovely, a wonderfully charming home in the countryside. The gas fireplace is wonderful to enjoy on a chilly evening, and the place is furnished with wonderful pieces.

    Vickie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wally and Caroline’s place was great! We stayed there for two nights and really enjoyed the cozy log cabin feel. The gas fireplace was definitely a big perk. There were two living areas downstairs, two bedrooms upstairs, and two baths for our use. A mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, and utensils were available as well. There was a tv with dvd movies and lots of books to read. The location was on a large property near the cute little hamlet of Morrisonville, close to Purcellville, Lovettsville and Leesburg. It was perfect for a quiet, relaxing weekend!

    Nicole2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is our family's favorite Airbnb. The historic home and grounds are meticulously and beautifully maintained. The location is peaceful, tranquil, and soul-renewing. Wally and Carolyn are wonderful hosts, and we look forward to our next visit.

  • Wally and Carolyn were so lovely. Their beautiful home was clean, cozy, and perfect for two families. They were very accommodating and responsive during our stay. The location on a private, gorgeous property only added to the experience. We would happily stay here again.

Glamping in Harpers Ferry! Elevated 8' x 16' cabin in a lush garden property surrounded by trees. Full bathroom w/rain showerhead. King bed can be converted to 2 twins if requested. 1940s vintage decor. Minifridge, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, elec kettle, minigriddle. Opens to an 8' x 16' screened porch w/ceiling fan, comfy seating, kitchen table & sink. Private spot yet in walking distance to all the great HF activities & dinner restaurants. Indoor/outdoor living & in-town convenience.
The tiny house is inspired by 1940s Park Service cabins but with modern comforts and amenities, a rain showerhead, a brand new Allswell bed, full insulation with air conditioning (and heating for the cooler months). The tiny cabin is new construction, built on the same property as our B&B (note our other listings on Airbnb). A garage sits between the tiny cabin and the main house on one side. There are trees/gardens on the other three sides. Beyond the trees are other neighborhood homes and a narrow, quiet street on one side. During this period of COVID-19 concern, guests will be given self-entry instructions. The cabin is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between guest stays. You will not need to interact in person with either the hosts or any other guests. Wifi and Echo Dot. A small TV monitor is available with an HDMI cable if you want to hook up your own streaming device. Note that, it being a tiny cabin, we had room for only a 40-gallon water heater. If there are two of you staying, you may want to take quicker showers or allow a little time between showers so that the second person gets enough hot water. We permit a third guest, including children, but please remember that this is a tiny cabin, and the sleeping configuration is one king or two twins. There is also a cot and sleeping bag on the screened porch that could be used on warmer nights. Parking spaces are located in front of the main house. You will then need to walk around the house to the back of the property to access the tiny cabin. A barndoor style gate just next to the tiny cabin exits to a side street. It's convenient for access when walking or bicycling, but no parking is available near this gate. We accept government rates! Please inquire if you are in town on government business.
The tiny cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood in the Upper Town Harpers Ferry Historic District, away from the heavily touristed area and close to restaurants and a bar. Also, we're far enough away from the train tracks that the whistles are more of a distant wail. The property is visually private but is next to a side street. You may hear neighbors visiting with each other out in the street during the day. Because we're in a small town, we like to stay friendly with our neighbors. We know you'll be respectful. Quiet hours (10 p.m. - 7 a.m.) will be strictly enforced and noise complaints from neighbors will result in a negative review for the rare inconsiderate guest. We're close to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Potomac & Shenandoah Rivers, C&O Canal Trail, AT, Amtrak train station, Storer College, & Loudoun County wineries. Check in on Sundays may be delayed until 4 pm. The main residential section of the Town of Harpers Ferry (where our tiny cabin is located) is over half a mile up a fairly steep hill from the rivers and the National Historic Park area (and also the C & O Canal Towpath). Through-cyclists on the trail, especially, should be aware of the strenuous ride up. There are NO surveillance cameras on the property. We provide a map of walking routes to nearby views of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers, as well as restaurant lists and info on local attractions. Nearby activities: Historical Town and Battlefield Sightseeing White Water Rafting Canoeing Kayaking Hiking Fishing Antiquing Zip Lining Dining Shopping Vineyard Touring and Tastings

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Lynn and Christian's place. The location was perfect, easy to walk to things but also private and quiet. We appreciated the attention to detail and decor of the cabin, everything was comfortable and cute! We are inspired to try and build our own now :). They are excellent hosts, not intrusive but also attentive and checked in to make sure we were warm enough and had what we needed. Definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Harper's Ferry!

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind stay in this restored 1700s cabin guest house with modern updates and beautiful decor. Off the beaten track but only about 1 hour from both DC and Baltimore. Located on a working farmstead and close to wine country, breweries, a goat cheese creamery, farm-to-table dining, and more. A favorite landing place for those out in the country enjoying Loudoun's Artists' Tour, Farm Tour, Wine Country Half Marathon, a wedding, a hiking trip, or just a weekend in the countryside.
This eighteenth century cabin was reconstructed on our property in the '80s from its original timber. You'll love its huge, rough hewn logs and the wide floor boards. The decor is a mix of primitive, vintage, and contemporary furnishings. We've outfitted the cabin to make it a comfortable home away from home for you: an antique four poster bed, luxurious Belgian linen sheets, fluffy 100% cotton towels, bathrobes, organic coffee and tea, a small refrigerator, homemade granola, and more. PLEASE NOTE: The cabin has electricity, and has seasonally available heating and cooling, as well as its own fireplace, but it DOES NOT have its own plumbing. A full bathroom for your use is located in our main home, just 50 feet from the cabin's location. This doesn't cause most guests a huge inconvenience, but it does make middle-of-the-night or cold weather trips a bit more of an adventure.
  • Perfect for couples, this historic, beautiful cabin was a great stay. Sarah was a fantastic host and was kind and helpful at every turn. No indoor plumbing wasn’t an issue as the main house is just steps away.

    Sean2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying in this historic cabin. Sarah was a most gracious host, always available and never intrusive. The place is beautiful and has a great feel to it. I stayed for quite a few days in order to attend a class in the area, and really felt quite at ease, even with the bathroom in the main house. I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Diana2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a weekend getaway. Not too far from Baltimore/DC but it feels like another world.

    Taylor2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Ben’s place is lovely! Close to conveniences, yet feels like it’s out of the way. Lovettsville is a gem all in its own, but still within 20-30 minutes of other amazing destinations! Cabin was beautiful and clean. Communication was top-notch!

    Patricia2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, historic cabin. Very comfortable. Yes, the bathroom is in the house, but it's close and easy, especially with such gracious hosts.

    John2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a great place to stay. You will enjoy the ambiance, location and all the personal touches.

    Brian2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying here! The cabin was stunning and filled with delicious coffee and homemade granola! Also, Sarah was super communicative and flexible. Some bonuses: their cat was SO friendly - it made being away from our own pets a little less hard. And while the town is small, there’s some great restaurants, wineries, and breweries within.

    Anna2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at this amazing 1700s cabin was a very unique experience I would highly recommend to other travelers. Sarah is very friendly and has great communication, and you will love the charming cabin and how well it has been decorated. Sure, the bathroom isn't attached, but live a little! We loved all the chickens (and rooster) roaming around the cabin. There is drinking water, coffee, etc. available. If we had one thing we could change it would simply be how much time we were able to spend there, due to our quick travel turnaround time and full schedule in Lovettsville. Awesome property.
