Places to stay in Brook
Our quirky studio is situated just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Freshwater Bay. It's ideal as a base for walker's, festival goers or people who just want to get away from all. With its own private courtyard you can come and go as you please.
Lots of recycled and beachcombed materials went into the building of this studio.
The locals are really friendly and most meet at freshwater bay on a Friday as the pizza van cooks beautiful stone baked pizzas. Remember to take some wine! The local mezze cafe is really popular with locals and tourists alike. There is a really old fashioned corner shop just up the road which has been open 150years! Dimbola gallery and cafe is also two minutes down the road and Tennyson house is a short walk away passing the beautiful thatched St. Agnes church.
  • The place so clean and good location

  • We were only staying in Freshwater for one evening and Jason’s place was absolutely perfect! You have your own entrance, a great little space and your own bathroom. Everything we needed!

  • Jason's studio was very comfortable and in a great location

    Robert2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little studio, really well built and decorated. Super cosy and has every thing you need. Genuinely fab place.

  • We loved our stay at Sea Salt Studio! Freshwater Bay is a lovely gem on the Isle of Wight, really calm and beautiful! We slept so well in the studio, it was really cosy with a beautiful bathroom and a lovely space to make our own for a short visit. We had a fun evening at the hip restaurant round the corner on our last night and enjoyed the tranquility of the place out of season! We got the ferry to Yarmouth and then cycled down to Freshwater - it was idyllic. We look forward to coming back when there’s a little less wind and a little more sun!

  • Great cosy place, I booked last minute and as there is a private and external access to the room I didn't get to meet Jason but he responded immediately and the place was waiting for me, clean and comfy, easy to find even in the night. I'd warmly recommend it.

    Elsa2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely quiet night away in the sea salt studio. Hosts were very friendly and provide a beautiful little space with lots of homely touches. Its a really nice area in freshwater and there's a cafe just around the corner for a perfect way to end the trip. Thank you very much for having us, we'd love to come back !

    Caitlin2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's place is far better in reality than even the nice photos can show. It is cozy with lots of beautiful decor and everything you may need (dishes, cutlery, dish washing soap, a mending kit, local info, etc.). I highly recommend it! :)

Welcome to the Old Stables, a beautiful and stylish barn conversion near Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight. This property was originally part of the Farringford Estate owned by Lord Tennyson, the world renown poet. The spacious accommodation, which enjoys views over the neighbouring fields and beautiful countryside, consists of an open plan Living Room/kitchen with a woodburning stove (together with initial supply of logs and kindling) a sofa bed suitable for children/extra guests (please note additional prices apply, see below) - a cosy Double Bedroom with its own en-suite shower room plus an additional separate shower room/toilet. A well equipped Kitchen with a full size cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, a good range of pots, pans and cooking equipment plus plenty of work space and cupboards makes it ideal for those who wish to cater for themselves - please note there is no dishwasher. A selection of teas and coffee and a small bottle of local milk are provided to make a drink when you first arrive. Good WiFi, a full size TV with Netflix and a selection of board games and books will ensure you are kept entertained should you wish to stay in. Covid 19 We know our guests really appreciate that we keep the property very clean. Since Covid 19 we have put in extra measures to minimise the risk of infection. Please ask us for our information sheet and the choices that we can provide.
The Old Stables is within 10 minutes walking distance of Orchards - a local village shop that has been established for 150 years and stocks a good range of groceries, newspapers and everyday items. There is also a good sized Co-op supermarket and other shops within a 5 minute drive. If you’d rather have your groceries delivered whilst you’re staying Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrison’s and Asda all offer a delivery service.
  • Zena and Phil were very welcoming hosts and on hand if we had any questions. Pictures did not do this converted barn justices. A really lovely place in a beautiful spot that felt remote without being in the middle of nowhere. Would stay again

    Alex2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend, beautiful location, we didn't want to use the car and we didn't need to, great for our dog. The cottage is clean, comfortable and idyllic, we will definitely be returning

    Leanne2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The most beautiful converted barn in a stunning location. Footpaths and pubs right on your doorstep and beautiful views across the downs. The barn is extremely clean and spacious with all the facilities and more that you could need. Home from home feeling to it. Couldn’t recommend more.

  • Brilliant hosts and a lovely place. They were really flexible and quick to respond to any queries I had. Thank you!

  • Beautiful place to stay. Inside and out. We felt right at home. Lovely hosts with great tips for places to visit.

    Dan2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This Air BnB was amazing! Every inch of the building was immaculate and surpassed every expectation I had. Zena left perfect instructions of how to find the place and the folder that was inside had every bit of information about the area of freshwater and the Isle of Wight. My girlfriend and I will definitely be booking again as soon as we can! It is PERFECT!

    Adam2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Zena and Phil are excellent hosts. Their venue is beautiful, their hospitality was excellent and comforting and their communication was impeccable. The barn was extremely clean and stocked with everything we needed, including logs for their log burner (which was perfect to have burning during Storm Dennis) the stay was wonderful and you could say the only thing wrong with the weekend was the weather. I highly recommend anyone to stay at Zena and Phil’s barn and will be more than likely to return myself in the future.

Afton Thatch Lodge is a small thatched cottage in a beautiful rural location in Freshwater. Walks out the door. Open plan style, with light-filled master bedroom on the first floor. Views over the downs and estuary plus an ensuite bathroom.
Small open-plan thatched cottage best suited to a couple, but downstairs day bed and sofa bed can be made up to accommodate children or guests. There is one small double sofa bed, and one 'over-under' type bed, so technically could sleep up to four more people, but it's a small space! The kitchen has two burners and a microwave-oven combo, but not a full size oven.
  • Really is the perfect getaway. Everything as advertised and I cannot really add anything that hasn’t already been said in past reviews! Beautiful views, cosy and warm, well kept, secluded, private. All what we needed. Thanks a million x

    Jessica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely love our stay in this beautiful cottage. The quiet location is a perfect base to explore the island and the cottage was just lovely. We would definitely stay here again, thank you!

17th century thatched cottage, beloved family second home. Sleeps 9-11, but still cosy enough for 2-4. Open fire, Aga, antiques, large garden. Quiet, rural area, beautiful views. Recommended as one of the UK's best country houses by The Guardian.
  • The cottage is absolutely spectacular. Totally charming for a family getaway. The family-style kitchen was so nice to cook in, particularly the new cooker! The living room is great for a board game in front of the fire, and the second living space was great to be able to close the door and let the toddler run around and play with his building blocks, knowing he won't run off out of sight. The bedrooms were so cosy, and all the small windows are so picturesque. The location was spot on for us, as we were able to squeeze in a trip to a large number of local spots, including The Needles. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay! My mum loved her birthday getaway!

    Becky2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in the cottage! We arrived an hour earlier than expected and we were kindly allowed to check in earlier. The cottage was absolutely stunning, and the location allowed us to go on some lovely walks. The cottage was cozy, yet spacious.

  • Loved this charming place. Highly recommend

  • Afton Thatch was a lovely place to stay for our trip to the IOW. We all enjoyed exploring the house and staying in a lovely comfy and warm property in a great location for exploring the west of the Island. Plenty of lovely walks around to discover. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Morgan was super accommodating when we got stranded in Storm Ciara and let us extend our stay, what a great place to be stranded in though! A great cosy cottage.

  • Fabulous well kept “chocolate box” thatched cottage in a great location for discovering West Wight.

    Nick2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures don’t do this place justice. We were a large group of friends staying here and were so worried about being crammed into what appeared to be a small cottage, however we were pleasantly surprised on arrival to discover just how big and spacious the cottage really is! The pictures cut off half the rooms so it’s hard to tell until actually here! Location is great only a short walk into town which is picturesque and plenty to do. My only concern is there was a slight leak coming from the middle upstairs bathroom that meant I was rained on when downstairs however we put a bucket under it and forgot about it so no worries there! All in all a beautiful modern cottage which was surprisingly spacious

    Charlotte2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We wanted to stay in a place big enough for the whole family and really make Christmas Special, and Afton cottage certainly did not disappoint, it was warm, cosy, and the area was so calm and peaceful - had some lovely walks with our two doggies. The cottage was so spacious and lots of areas for us to relax in, but the main room with the open fireplace was our favourite room. Just a couple of watch outs would be to mind your head on the low ceilings if you are quite tall like me, but I wouldn’t have changed that, as that is the cottages natural charm. Also the only other thing would be to allow plenty of time for cooking as the Agar can take a while to heat up, but again i wouldn’t change that as it looks beautiful in the large family sized kitchen. In summary, I wouldn’t change a thing - and the memories that this break created will stay with us forever. Thank you so much Morgan and for your very quick and helpful communication leading up to the stay.

Dear guests, during the government restrictions on travel and social distancing, we can only take bookings from NHS and key workers travelling to the Isle of Wight. We look forward to returning to normal soon. Stay safe everyone and keep well. The apartment is fully furnished and ready for self catering holidays long or short stays. Private courtyard and the access is to the apartment is also private. Ideal for couples and plus 1 or singles.
Located only a short stroll from stunning Freshwater Bay and at the base of Tennyson downs. This ground floor basement apartment was fully refurbished to a high standard and finished January 2017, it has a secure garden with a small courtyard and is designed for self catering. The kitchen is fully fitted with oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, kettle, toaster and all utensils (ask if we have forgotten anything) The shower room is quite small and fitted with shower, toilet and sink. The bedroom lounge has a double bed, double futon, TV, hanging space and a small dining table. Wifi is available. You will also find an ironing board, iron, some games and books so you may enjoy your stay should the weather keep you in. Thanks
Freshwater Bay and surrounding area is quaint, quiet, has great walks, great beaches, coastline and amazing views. Often on a summers day you will find the locals having BBQs at the beach near the boat house. Freshwater Bay also hosts a renowned golf course open to non members. Be sure to take a trip to the Needles and Alum Bay. If you fancy a night out Yarmouth is easily accessible by bus and has a number of pubs, restaurants and historic buildings. Locally you will find a number of quaint cafes ( 'The Piano'), shops and tea rooms ('Dimbola Lodge') and nearby the town of Freshwater hosts a number of supermarkets, leisure centre, doctors and curiosity shops (' Mrs Middleton's'). The walks of the West Wight take you on a journey through stunning coastline, estuary's, ancient trails and places of interest.
  • Fantastic property, really nice, lovely and clean. The host was really helpful, will definitely stay here again.

  • It was my first time to the Isle of Wight and simply loved the views and the long walks. Allie's place was a lovely hobbit home. It is walk able distance from the west side of the island and very self contained. You can go for long coastal walks or just laze around the town. One wouldn't regret choosing this place or visiting the Isle of Wight!

    Jeana2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The account is exactly as described and a great location for Freshwater. Highly recommended

    Steve2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Allie's annexe. She's thought of every little detail to make our stay perfect. A very clean, comfortable apartment with a well equipped kitchen and some lovely breakfast treats. We'd very much recommend Allie's place to anyone visiting the Isle of Wight.

    Raquel2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely clean apartment where absolutely everything we needed had been thought of. A very well equipped kitchen and lots of thoughtful touches. We had a lovely few days walking on the island and the apartment was very handy for the lovely local shop as well as for the coastal path. Highly recommended.

  • We stayed at Allie & Ronan's for 2 nights in February. It was very warm & cosy. Absolutely everything you need. Thoughtful touches such as bread, butter, milk, jam & biscuits. Easy communication& spotlessly clean. Very recommended.

  • First time to the Isle of Wight and could not have been a better stay. Excellent location for exploring the Island and in a incredibly beautiful setting & dog friendly. Could not fault Palomino Cottage and its amenities. Definitely one of the best AirBnb’s we have stayed in. Mike was on hand for any questions we had and we’ll definitely be back

    Ross2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay at a well presented cottage. Mike was very helpful and communication was spot on. Check in and out we’re smooth and simple. The cottage is located just inland of the south coast of the island which is definitely the prettier side and you can walk the coastal path for hours and hours and hours! The local pub has good food and friendly atmosphere. Any future trips to the Isle of Wight we will definitely look at booking here again as we had a great break, also the gluten free lemon drizzle cake on arrival was excellent!!

    Andrew2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was everything we hoped it would be. Beautifully decorated, to a high standard throughout, peaceful and well equipped with everything we needed for a 4 night stay. We can’t wait to return for another stay!

    Amy2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t ask for a better place to spend a long weekend - set in beautiful coast and countryside, Mike’s place is modern and really well put together while retaining a rustic charm.

  • This cottage is the best Airbnb place we have stayed in. It is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished and immaculately clean. The location is stunning- perfect for long walks along the coast. Communication, both prior to, and during our stay was superb and I honestly can’t think of how our stay could be improved ...except perhaps for the weather !!

    Isobel2020-02-22T00:00:00Z

    Lesley2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Mike’s place is a lovely, quiet place to spend a few days. We were treated to a choice of cake on arrival and this really set the tone for our whole stay. The cottage was immaculately clean and very well presented - you can tell that Mike really looks after the place. The cottage is well appointed, having two bathrooms, and also had a washing machine (which was a great touch!). Plenty of car parking (2 bays for us), and close to a number of key locations - including the needles and Yarmouth. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here. Thanks for a great stay Mike!

    Matthew2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage. Spotlessly clean with everything you need in it. Location is great for a nice quiet break. Host was contactable and gave us a few very good recommendations of things to do and places to eat. We had a great time and would definitely recommend staying here!!

  • Dapple Cottage is a beautiful, spacious and well-appointed little gem within walking distance to the beach. Spotlessly clean with thoughtful little touches here and there making it warm, welcoming, and child and dog friendly (my wife and I currently lack the latter two but it is offered as such and it would I'm sure be a wonderful place for all)! Mike was a helpful host with prompt and clear communication. We'd happily stay here again and would thoroughly recommend it to others who might be seeking a warm and cosy quiet cottage near the beach on the island.

Light and airy room in a modern property only 2 minutes walk from the Isle of Wight coastal path and a quiet beach. The bedroom is simply decorated with two single beds and has a window with views out over the cliffs to the sea. I will be here to meet you and have plenty of friendly local knowledge to share. The location is ideal for walkers & cyclists, plus the surf beach at Compton is only 10 minutes by car or bus.
Outside, there's a sunny south facing patio with chairs and a table. Indoor shared spaces are a modern, clean bathroom with power shower over the bath, and a kitchen. The kitchen has tea, coffee & breakfast facilities and use of the fridge, microwave or hob.
Brighstone (5 minutes up the road) is a small village with two shops, a pub & a church. There are lots of walks both coastal and inland over the downs / forest to be enjoyed. There are also plenty of cycle routes where you an explore a little further. I'm a keen cyclist so happy to advise and happy for bikes to be stored indoors. I can also point you in the direction of the best local pubs & cafes.
  • Highly recommend Daniel’s seaview cottage. Incredibly warm and welcoming and overall, a relaxed, great host. Perfect location for coastal path with quiet, scenic walks in every direction.

  • Daniel’s place is a great retreat for those that wish to be by the sea and especially if you enjoy hiking. There’s lovely coastal walks right out the front. It is a little bit out of the way location wise, but some may enjoy it for that reason. Dan was very friendly and accomodating. I did a 5 hour walk along the coast to The Needles which I highly recommend.

  • The view of the sea from this cottage was outstanding - great location!

  • A charming old cottage in a really special setting, so peaceful and hidden away, we stayed with young children, which it was perfect for. We wished we could have stayed for longer just to spend more time relaxing at the cottage rather than it just being a ‘base’ to go back to!

  • Charming room and cosy kitchen with good coffee with the bus stop right in front of the door with great connections to explore the entire island. Trudie's a great host and I felt very comfortable staying with her and her two cute dogs. Definitely can recommend!

    Hillary Ann2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place to stay. Comfortable and clean. Dogs were great and Trudie's recommendation to eat was really nice at the New Inn.

    Wayne2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay, the place is cosy, extremely clean and the hospitality was great, we felt like at home. The dogs are very friendly and was lovely to play with them. Highly recommended!

    Simone2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • In this case I can say that the house where you stay can really make the difference in your holiday. As cyclists we were a bit deluded by the isle of Wight (too much traffic, too few cycle paths and not very panoramic) but thanks to Trudie's tips we could spend a good time there. Staying in her wanderful barn was more than pleasant, as well as sharing the house with her and her lovely dogs. Every morning she prepared a super rich breakfast in the beautiful kitchen and our bedroom and bathroom were super clean and comfortable!

    Marta2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • A warm welcome in a very pleasant location. Lovely bedroom and bathroom both spotlessly clean. Breakfast was left out for us in the kitchen so that we could help ourselves. Excellent selection to choose from. Excellent value for money. Trudie and Alice are brilliant hosts and ensured an enjoyable stay.

    Jack2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Trudie's was lovely - one really lovely room in her home, plus ensuite with a bath. Breakfast in particular was great...lots of options and a great spread! Trudie took the time to tell me about the local area before I had even arrived, including some pub and restaurant recommendations, and walks. She went above and beyond by even dropping us off at the place we had dinner! Dogs are lovely and very friendly. Thank you Trudie.

Tony & Gina would like to welcome you to their home in the semi-rural setting of Wellow, 3 miles from Yarmouth. There are lovely views to the front and the rear of the house. It is an ideal location for walkers & cyclists. There is a regular local bus service making access to the whole Island very easy. There is a licensed pizzeria within walking distance. The House is situated opposite West Wight Alpacas, Wellow, PO41 0SZ
You will be staying in our family home. We have three well behaved (most of the time!) dogs that will be curious, but friendly. Please ensure all gates are shut securely behind you. If you are not a 'doggy' person it might not be the place for you.
Set in beautiful rural countryside location. Lots of walks around the area, and great public transport links.
  • We really enjoyed Tony's hospitality, the breakfast and meeting his 3 dogs! I can definitely recommend staying there to explore the South West coast of the island!

  • Tony and Gina’s is a wonderful rural cottage. The room is beautiful and has thoughtful items and the hosts are easy going and friendly. There are no pubs or shops nearby, so come prepared, but there is a Llama Farm nearby that does amazing pizza on Fri and Sat, and Yarmouth is two miles away. They have three lovely dogs, ‘Woody’ is our favourite, and a wonderful garden and conservatory for breakfast.

  • Tony and Gina are honestly the best hosts one could hope for! Super kind and thoughtful. The house was in pristine conditions, we had every comfort and they insisted we asked or anything else we might have needed. They have three dogs (as they say on their profile) which are very laid back and well behaved, and always up for a cuddle! The location was stunning, lots of nature, cute cottages and an alpaca farm with a little restaurant just across the street. All in all, we had a wonderful time! Thank you guys! x

Sea views, beautiful beaches, pine forest full of red squirrels and country walks with stunning views in a quiet location. Quaint village with a pub, a museum, a library with a thatched roof, three shops and an 800 year old church. Brighstone is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a No Smoking policy within Snowdrop Cottage.
We are living in a very special area where there are low levels of light pollution. Snowdrop Cottage is set in an area of outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It is a great place to view the thousands of stars revealed in Dark Skies.
Brighstone is situated on the South West coast of the Isle of Wight and about half way along the coastal route between Ventnor and Freshwater. It is a pretty village with an old church, traditional farmhouses and thatched cottages built from local "clunch" stone. At the village centre stands the iconic ‘North Street’, a row of attractive traditional cottages owned by the National Trust which now house Brighstone Library and a small Village Museum. Brighstone is a lively and interesting place to visit with shops and eating places, free parking and public toilets.
  • The day we travelled over to IOW was the day Storm Dennis hit, so travelling was proving difficult, Jane was brilliant and contacted us on the day to see if we were ok. On arrival we had a very warm welcome and Jane had not only made us a chocolate cake but also some homemade soup, which was so kind and certainly well received on such an awful day, both were delicious. The accommodation was perfect for us, the location was great, the layout really suited us and our dog, the place was well equipped and everything we needed was there, even the torches as it is very dark outside at night. The accommodation was very clean, warm and comfortable, which was exactly what we needed on a wet and windy weekend. Thank you for allowing us to stay it was a great place and a great weekend, sorry about all the wet footprints we left behind. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the island.

  • An excellent place to stay: the view is lovely, Jane is very friendly and helpful, and went over and above with extra touches including baking us a cake, providing a selection of local produce and making sure there was a small box of toys for our little girl. The cottage is clean, warm and extremely well-equipped; we cooked every day and found everything we needed. Great location for exploring the island; we highly recommend staying here.

Yarmouth Town Yarmouth town is located on the North-West of the Isle of Wight, and acts as one of the gateways to the Island with one of the main ferry services operating from its harbour. The historic port town sits at the mouth of the River Yar and contains some of the oldest architecture on the Isle of Wight, including a 16th Century castle. Tapnell Farm Park is the perfect place to enjoy some family time, and is perfect to visit in all weathers. Meet the wallabies, visit the play barn and enjoy spending time with the animals in the farmyard barn. The harbour at Yarmouth is always very busy with both ferries and smaller boats, and the town itself offers a good variety of things to do for visitors. The history of the town is very evident as you walk round and a trip along the Grade 2 listed pier is highly recommended for views across The Solent, and is also known locally for being a great spot for fishing. Yarmouth Castle, which is tucked away to the side of the ferry dock, is also a great place for sea views and family picnics during the warmer months. Other popular pastimes are walks and exploring in the local area with two “Sites of Special Scientific Interest” nearby, the estuary of the River Yar and Bouldnor and Hamstead to the East of the town. There is a road bridge over the river estuary which heads out of the town, and a short distance along is Fort Victoria Country Park, a Victorian gun battery which now houses a number of local attractions. It is also set in a beautiful country park, with some spectacular coastline, making it another good spot to explore. There are a number of pubs and restaurants in Yarmouth if you are looking for somewhere to eat. There is also a licensed café at the foot of Yarmouth pier which is open all year round serving a range of food and refreshments, including locally sourced Minghella Ice Cream. There is also a good range of other eateries a short distance from the town in other parts of West Wight. The Yarmouth Gaffers Festival is one of the longest running events on the Isle of Wight, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013. Just to the East of Yarmouth the Rhythmtree World Music Festival takes place at Shalfleet. Rhythmtree is quickly establishing itself as one of the best new music festivals in the UK and attracts artists from all over the globe.

This well equipped cabin with log burner offers the ultimate getaway mid way along the stunning ‘Back of the Wight’ heritage coastline designated A.O.N.B. Secluded enough for privacy, it is the perfect rural escape & an excellent base for a walking or cycling break. 3min walk to the quiet beach & 2 min drive to the picturesque village of Brighstone with its historic buildings, post office, country pub & shop, you couldn’t be better positioned to discover the most attractive part of this island.
Approximately 22 ft x 15 ft total inside area it offers ample floor space for the additional memory foam z-bed or fold out sofa which are next to the double bed & available for a child or chum in the main room which is in a country cottage design. ( If you prefer a bit of privacy there is actually room in the carpeted kitchen diner to sleep if needs be.) The toilet / shower room is en-suite. You can see there is a porch to sit out on which is lovely to enjoy the view of the woodland & downland meadows in the really calm surroundings. The cabin is heated if needed in the Autumn & early Spring using either the 'Ladybird' log burner (for which a sack of logs & kindling will be provided) or the portable oil filled radiator & safety design electric heater. Potentially you could sleep 2 adults with 2 children using the temporary beds. There is a hook up for a camper van which can be parked to the side of the cabin & /or room for a small tent should children want to camp out! (2 man max.) If a tent is pitched this incurs an additional fee of £10 cash per night. The external hook up is £5 extra per day used. This additional payment would need to be made direct to the host on arrival.
There are 2 cabins right at the other end of the lawn / field & 2 more in the next pasture down. The village of Brighstone is 1 mile inland, accessed easily by footpath or road for all amenities. Isle of Wight Pearl is just across the road and has a nice cafe. Walking boots are recommended as if it rains some of the footpaths are rather muddy & the lane to the cabin gets puddly. You are directly across the road from the beach - some days shingly, some sandy - and can join the coastal footpath on the route down to it. Compton beach at Hanover Point is very popular & sandy also with toilets and ice cream / burger van. It is approx 3 miles to the West in the direction of Freshwater Bay, Alum Bay & The Needles - also worth a visit. If you've children Black Gang Chine & Dinosaur Farm situated on the coast road 3 miles to the East are also worth seeing. The viewpoint car park above Black Gang is an excellent starting point to walk up St Catherines' Down with Europe's only standing Medieval lighthouse/beacon known locally as 'The Pepperpot' at one end and 1 & 3/4 miles on at the Northern end the Hoy Monument. You can see the tips of the island at certain points along this downland. More immediately you can head inland and up to Brighstone forest.
  • Great cabin on the South side of island, idyllic location and a short walk to the beach and stunning cliff views. Super location for exploring the island. Everything worked as it should and a hot shower and a comfy bed were most welcome after a long day. Plenty of good eating places not far away, but you need transport. Would thouroghly recommend staying here and Jonathan is a great host.

  • Lovely cosy cabin, right next to the most beautiful part of the island. Great for being separate - we had our 2 month old with us so didn't worry about making too much noise! Perfect for a long weekend. The bedroom/ couch/ living area is one room, with a separate kitchen and separate shower/toilet room. Right back from the road and in the midst of trees - was great to wake up to the birds and a few cows mooing in the distance!

  • The Cabin was very Cosy as described. The bed was comfy. The surroundings and views were beautiful and idyllic. It was especially lovely sitting outside on the verandah having a morning coffee, so peaceful. The indoor and outdoor games in the cabin were very much appreciated. The shower was hot and powerful. The little extras like coffee, tea etc were a great help. Nice easy walk to the beach and coastal paths. Great part of isle of wight to stay as its breathtaking and peaceful and easy to travel everywhere. The viewpoint from blackgang is a must to look at. The pearl cafe which is a couple minutes from the cabin does an amazing breakfast with great views. Jonathon was a very helpful friendly host. He greeted us at the cabin with a warm smile and gave us lots of tips for our stay on where to visit and eat. I would highly recommend the cabin for a great place to stay to get away from it all and to explore the island. Very nice to come back to after a day of adventures. Look forward to staying again!! Thank you Jonathon.

We are a two minute drive from the sailing town ofYarmouth with its marina and local shops or just to take in the scenery of the yachts and boats on the Solent.
  • A clean and comfortable place in walking distance of Freshwater town and all the amenities you would require. The Needles is about 45 mins walk, though a reliable bus service (#7) is on hand if you require one. Yarmouth is also just a few miles away. Bree's comms, instructions and info were spot on.

  • Such a lovely place to come back to every night - warm, clean and cosy. We visited for a week in February in between the storms, but despite the weather we had a great time and was lovely knowing we had a nice warm house to come back to at the end of each day. Bree was fab, meeting us with a ‘hamper’ of some local produce/essentials. The property itself is in a block of 6 new-build holiday cottages and has been finished to a high standard with all the amenities you’d ever need: full kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, oven/hob and even a nespresso machine! Efficient central heating, tv, comfy bed.. what more could you want?! The en-suite has a lovely deep bath to soothe your aching muscles too. Coupled with the rural, peaceful surroundings makes this place a hidden gem. Will be booking to visit again hopefully in the near future.

Situated in the beautiful village of Brighstone on the Isle of Wight, our cosy B&B offers a large private room with a spacious toilet/wet room. Just a short walk from breath taking views and beaches, with stunning hills and countryside on your doorstep. The local pub (The Three Bishops) offers hot food and drink all year round, and we have our own village museum, shops and library.
  • Really enjoyed our stay. It was just what we needed. Will be sure to take a bright torch if there is a next time. Not many street lights in Brighstone.

    Nadia2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay having walked the Coastal Path from Sandown. We arrived wet and cold, but soon warmed up and spent a very comfortable evening here. Local pub was great for a meal too. Would stay again.

    Jill2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay, ideal for our one night stay as we were walking the coastal paths. Would have been happy to stay longer. Very large room in quiet village. Pub serving good home cooked meals round the corner

    Sue2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Good B&B in Brighstone village near coastal path

    Susan2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far our best B&B experience. The room was comfortable and easy to relax in, the wet room was ideal and the breakfast was great. Diane was friendly and helpful and the location in the village couldn’t have been better. Will definitely be making a return visit.

    Linda2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • A spacious room with view of the garden

    Vicki2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A great space in a beautiful village with good local amenities of village shops and pub nearby. Diane was friendly and helpful with lots of tips and local info. A little more difficult to get to and on to attractions if using public transport.

    Thomasina2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's facilities are perfect for anyone touring or visiting the West Wight. The living space is open plan with a separate (walk-in, disabled-friendly) bathroom. You enjoy the freedom to come and go as you please as the facility is an independent annex from the main house. Diane provided a very healthy and generous breakfast in the morning at a time of your suiting. This is my 2nd visit and it was just as good as the first. Highly recommended !!

Experience staying in an 18th century brewery which is part of the privately owned Lower Calbourne Mill, nestled in the village of Newbridge. Just 3 miles from Yarmouth and 4 miles from the beach, the listed brewery has a beautiful garden which is bordered by the river and the gentle trickle of the mill stream. A perfect escape, ideally placed for walkers and cyclists; the vaulted brewery living space has cosy sofas, a log burner, fully equipped kitchen and large dining table for entertaining.
Patio doors lead out from both living and bedroom to the peaceful patio which has relaxing seating and a pizza oven.
  • We had such a lovely time at the old brewery! From watching birds in the garden during breakfast to curling up by the fire after a long day, this is the perfect hideaway on the island. The bed was huge and very comfortable and the fairy lights in the living room were perfect. Jo and her husband were such accommodating hosts -- we arrived just as the UK government announced he closure of restaurants and bars, but Jo and her husband went out to the supermarkets to help us find dinner for the night. We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

    Priyanka2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • A great escape for a couple who want to get away from it all. The space is great and so comfortable, and being the Isle of Wight nothing is far away. There are great walks nearby and it is so peaceful.

    David2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Superb, lovely space. Great fire, thoughtfull touches for when we arrived. I can't recommend it enough

    Lewis2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful location and cost bolthole from the wet and windy new year on the isle of wight. Nowhere nicer to come home to after brisk beach walks and put the fire on.

    Judith2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • If your looking for a peaceful get away with a bit of history, the Old brewery is for you. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and didn't want to leave. I was looking for a peaceful weekend away and this place gave me that and more. Photos don't do it justice. Go and see for yourself.

    Sophia2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A charming and historic place to stay which is local to many of the Isle of Wight's best attractions

    Trish2019-09-25T00:00:00Z

This delightful cottage is situated a short stroll from the centre of the historic and picturesque harbour town of Yarmouth. The cottage provides accommodation for couples and small families alike. The enclosed courtyard garden with gated side access is ideal for cycle storage. Yarmouth is located on the western side of the Island with a natural harbour guarded by Yarmouth Castle, a fortification built to protect the Solent from invading forces by Henry VIII. The Harbour attracts many yachts and motor cruisers which take advantage of the estuary afforded by the River Yar. The Lymington to Yarmouth car and passenger ferry docks in the harbour, making holidaying with or without a car easy, as only a short stroll from the cottage. This bustling town has an active community all year round. The square has a varied range of shops and delightful eating establishments. The 700ft long Victorian pier is a great place to go fishing and boat trips can be taken from here to various destinations. There are walks along the promenade and the former railway track, called "The Causeway", which provides a delightful walk along the banks of the Yar towards Freshwater, with local wildlife in abundance and many species of birds. This is also a cycle track with many miles linking other tracks across the Island. Places of interest and of outstanding natural beauty include The Needles, Alum Bay with its coloured sands, chair lift and Pleasure Park, Tennyson Down and miles of outstanding coastal scenery from nearby Freshwater Bay.
The West of the Isle of Wight is an area of outstanding natural beauty showcasing the Island's iconic feature, the Needles. The dramatic and unspoilt coastline of the West Wight is very popular with walkers, bird watchers, nature lovers and those seeking a quiet, tranquil environment in which stay. Compton Bay's long sandy beach spanning the south west is non-commercialised and unspoilt and a popular spot for surfing, great family fun days out and for fascinating fossil finding. On the north west side sailors love to moor their boats in the safe harbour and step ashore to enjoy the old world charm of Yarmouth, with its variety of shops, superb pubs and restaurants and the 700 foot long pier boasting the splendour of the Victorian era. Yarmouth Castle, Isle of Wight provides a magnificent picnic spot, with views over the Solent for a lovely relaxing family day by the sea. The Needles Park Chairlift continues to be a firm favourite with, the views are truly spectacular from the picturesque Needles Rocks and lighthouse to the multi-coloured sand cliffs, also look out for the marvellous turquoise colour of the sea. You will be spoilt for choice for food; from the opulence of the George Hotel in Yarmouth to fish and chips with fantastic view from Totland Pier. Together with a good a selection of cafes and pubs all palates and budgets can be catered for.
  • A super property, great location. Stairs are steep if you have smaller children, my 4yr old was fine though. Two large bathrooms, one upstairs one down. Comfy beds. Usable fire place. Lots of restaurants and shops and perfect for visiting this side of island. Really enjoyable stay. We didn’t buy the car park permit for the week, but the app is great so you don’t need to walk to the car to put money in each morning. If you know you are going to be out most of the day, just pay each day as needed.

  • Victoria's place is lovely! Everything has been very thoughtfully done. Who knew you could fit so much in such a small space and still have room left! The little touches really made a difference and just made it feel that little bit more luxurious. We were lucky with the weather and had gorgeous views over the meadow. It was cold when we stayed but the heater warmed us up in no time, as did the hot choc that was provided! Thanks for such a fab weekend escape!

  • We are home and fully experiencing post holiday blues.... Yes the isle of wight is beautiful and there is do much to do and yes the weather was kind to us BUT by far the highlight of our holiday was this cottage. Absolutely the best holiday cottage in the UK I have ever booked (and there have been quite a few). Spacious, very equipped and incredibly peaceful. The hot tub makes this place exceptional. We will definitely be back. The area is also stunning with loads to do and see!

Peta’s Cottage fully renovated in 2015/16 whilst maintaining the charm and character. There is a small courtyard with outside tap and is a real suntrap in the summer. The cottage is located in a pedestrian only area where locals live. It is close to the Solent, and the heart of the town with shops, restaurants and pubs. No allocated parking but visitor car parking permits are provided. Welcome basket provided with tea, coffee, fresh milk and eggs.
This bijou Isle of Wight holiday cottage is located inside the old town wall in Alma Place, off South Street in the heart of historic Yarmouth – one of the gateways to the Isle of Wight. Peta’s Cottage is a double fronted 3 bedroom Victorian fisherman’s cottage, was gutted and renovated in 2015/16 and is full of charm and character. The cottage is located in Alma Place, a pedestrian only area where locals live and tend there beautiful gardens for all to see. This charming cottage is only a few minutes walk away from the Solent in one direction, the River Yar with the wildlife nature reserve in another and Yarmouth’s fashionable shops, restaurants and pubs in the other direction. On the ground floor as you enter is the dining room with fireplace and the kitchen behind. Through the arch into the second half of the cottage is the sitting room with fireplace. Behind the sitting room on the ground floor is the utility room which moves into a separate shower room and downstairs loo. One of the quirky features of the house is that it has two steep stair cases; one leading to a guest room with en-suite bathroom – the west wing! The other staircase leads to two other bedrooms, the smaller one overlooking the back of the house – the east wing. There are thermostatic controlled radiators in the house which keep it warm all the year round. The floors on the ground floor are wood and practical for keeping clean. There is a small courtyard at the back of the property which catches the sun in the summer at lunchtime and makes an ideal spot to hang wetsuits, sails etc with an outside tap to rinse everything off. Cycles (x2) can be stored at the front of the property in the bike rack provided. Please note that, like many properties in Yarmouth, this cottage does not have allocated parking. Visitor car parking permits are available for your use which allow free parking within designated bays, many of which are within easy reach of the cottage. You can also buy Tourist Permits valid for use in the majority of on and off street pay and display parking bays across the entire Island. Guests staying are welcomed with a basket. A typical basket will include fresh milk, biscuits, tea, and coffee. Yarmouth is a beautiful town at the mouth of the River Yar and is full of history such as the 16th century Yarmouth castle and Grade II listed pier, both offering magnificent views of the Solent. The small streets are charming, the shops a delight and there is a plentiful array of pubs and restaurants. Nearby attractions include Fort Victoria and Needles Park. Yarmouth is in the heart of splendid countryside with the River Yar estuary, Bouldnor, Hamstead and Newtown offering great places for walking or cycling. With easy access to Yarmouth ferry port, coastal walks and cycle trails this Isle of Wight holiday cottage is ideal for walkers and cyclists.

  • Lovely cottage in a great location for exploring the island, well worth a visit.

  • Caroline’s cottage was absolutely lovely! Our family of 5 stayed there for a week. It was very clean and had a real seaside cottage feel. It had everything we needed, even beach towels for us to use! Caroline answered all questions very quickly and was very helpful. Yarmouth was lovely, lots of nice places walking distance around the cottage. We would definitely stay again!

A recent addition to the main house, the accommodation offers a large modern double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. A doorway from the bedroom leads directly onto a large secluded balcony, just the place to sit with a cup of tea and enjoy the views of the beautiful gardens and woodland. We offer the ideal base for outdoor activities.
  • Shirley's home was a wonderful place to relax after a long days hike. It's very peaceful and the room has a wonderful view when you wake up. So much thought has been given to detail. I truly enjoyed the talk I had with my hosts and the delicious breakfast in the morning. The village itself is very charming too. I would have loved to stay longer. Thank you very much Shirley.

  • Shirley and her husband are adorable, we received a warm welcome from them. Their room is comfortable and super clean. We really appreciated our stay although it was one night and we highly recommend their place. Thank you so much!

  • Host really welcoming, clean and comfy room, cracking breakfast and lovely surroundings. Couldn't be happier.

    Julie2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • A clean and comfortable space, separated from the rest of the home, overlooking their immaculately kept garden. Shirley and Pete are lovely people, a pleasure to get to know in the brief time we spent there. Finally I should mention the excellent breakfast we were served, you will not leave hungry!

    Steve2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The room was wonderful, clean, spacious and with a fantastic view complimented by the balcony. The private access made coming and going very easy and there was plenty of parking available. Our hosts Shirley and Pete were very welcoming and easy to get along with and the breakfast quality was very good with a lovely range of foods to have. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we return to the island.

    Keiron2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely and comfortable place with friendly hosts. This is a quieter part of the island, close to beaches. If it is what you are looking for, it is ideal.

    Katie2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely B&B. Very comfortable bed, really welcoming hosts, delicious breakfasts, and peaceful location. You have a private entrance to the self-contained accommodation. There's also a balcony overlooking the lovely garden (shame we couldn't use this more due to the weather!). We'd definitely stay again next time we visit West Wight. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks again, Shirley and Pete!

'Eider' is a charming wooden chalet set in beautiful countryside on the Isle of Wight. It has its own outside decked area which is completely private. Situated in an amazing location of outstanding natural beauty and surrounded by fields, it is close to the clifftop walks and stunning beaches.
Eider Chalet is ideal for singles or couples who wish to get away from it all and completely relax in the peace and tranquility of the stunningly beautiful West Wight. Dogs are most welcome. The local beaches are great for fossil hunting right on your doorstep and it's a great location for walkers, cyclists and lovers of nature. Tucked away in the corner of a quiet field guests have plenty of privacy. There is a woodburner for cosy nights in and a portable fire-pit for enjoying a fire outside the chalet.
There are beautiful cliff top views of the Jurassic coastline and walks literally on your doorstep. There is a cliff-top Isle of Wight Pearl Centre across the road from the entrance to the field which has a coffee shop/ restaurant which offers customers Wi-Fi as there is no wi-fi available at the Chalet. The Village of Brighstone is 1 mile away, the town of Freshwater is 5 miles away and the main town of the Island (Newport) is 8 miles away.
  • Lovely, peaceful surroundings. Deborah was great at communicating and gave really clear directions to the place. Loved watching the wildlife and walking down to the beach for fossil hunting. Really appreciated the little touches in the chalet like candles, incense, and biscuits.

  • Eider is a lovely place for a couples break. It is tucked in a very quiet spot very near the beach. We took our springer spaniel and she had a great week. The outside space was lovely for dining al fresco. The accommodation has all the home from home tools you need to fully self cater. Would definitely return.

  • Warm, welcoming and cosy cottage in a perfect location for a quiet relaxing time.....you will need transport as it is a bit remote.....ideal for exploring locally on a pushbike.....beach a short walk away....and a great decking and garden area to have a lazy breakfast and watch the wildlife....highly recommended :-)

    Dennis2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for simple, peaceful accommodation in lovely countryside and only a few minutes' walk from the beach, this is definitely the place for you. When the sun shines (which it did every day for us) the verandah/patio is a great place to eat meals and relax.

    Mike2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Remote and quiet cabin, perfect for a really peaceful getaway, a great place to go for walks and have cosy nights in.

    Lucy2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a wonderful 6 days in Eider, using it as a base to explore some parts of the island. When not out and about it was comfortable, peaceful and quiet, with some lovely outside space when the weather was kind. Everything we needed was provided, and communication with Deborah excellent. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet spot to stay on the IOW. Thank you Deborah.

    Paul2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place and fantastic location for exploring the island. Very peaceful location tucked away in a super sunny spot! Everything needed for our stay was supplied & extras. A bit dated but price reflects this and obviously doesn’t effect anything! Maybe new sheets & towels would be a nice extra touch! Would highly recommend it to anyone on a tight budget & looking for a lovely cost quiet place. Fantastic communication too, Deborah has been great. Thank you, we will be back.

    Laura2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic mini break at Debrah's place. The cabin is cosi and you feel at home instantly. The private outside decked area is great, we had our meals outside with sunshine and shade. The woodburner works very well and quickly warms the place up. The countryside in this part of the island that we did not know is stunning, miles to walk along the beach (which is just a short walk from the chalet) with magnificent views and hardly anybody (unusual for a bank holiday weekend in the island). A relaxing weekend in nature that both of us and our doggie truly enjoyed. A place to go back to for sure.T hank you Deborah!

The log cabin is a newly renovated log cabin for the 2018 season. It is situated within the grounds of park place farm, a non working rural farm located close to Newport and on the hills of the downs. The log cabin offers privacy and fantastic far reaching views over the fields and rolling country side to the sea views in the distance, fantastic sunsets on sunny evenings with lots of birds and wildlife always paying visit.
The perfect location of the log cabin offers the best views, often the cows and sheep can be found within a few hundred meters of the cabin. The cabin offers comfortable accommodation to the highest standard, its recent refurbishment of the lounge and bedroom gives the cabin a modern yet homely feel. The outside of the cabin is the perfect place to sit and relax in complete privacy, enjoy a bbq whilst soaking up the sun or relax in the lounge with the double doors open and enjoying the distant views. The location is secure and gated with parking available in front of to the side of the cabin. The cabin was designed for two people to stay in it, but there is a sofa bed that can accommodate more, please enquire if there are additional guests as extra charges could apply unfortunately no children
We are situated in a rural location on the north down hills but on a main road connecting Newport and freshwater The blacksmith arms pub is a 2 minute away as is the local bus stop served every 60 mins up to 10pm
  • Andy’s cabin is absolutely lovely! It’s a great place for a cozy getaway and ideally located to explore the whole island. It was lovely to wake up to such a beautiful view! Andy is a very thoughtful and welcoming host, even leaving some bread, milk and snacks for us! We highly recommend staying here!

    Jenny2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I expected Andy’s place to be nice from what I could see and the reviews I had read on here, but it still exceeded my expectations! The view from the front door is incredible and the location is perfect for getting to anywhere on the island. There is everything you need in the cabin and it is very modern and comfortable. Andy was very helpful and always only a text away. You can’t really go wrong if you’re a couple looking to get away to somewhere beautiful and peaceful. Highly recommend.

    Adam2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Andy's place was spotlessly clean. It is very stylish with comfortable furniture and mod cons. The facilities are superb and Andy is a great host. He is on hand if you need him, but equally the cabin feels very private being a distance from his home and not overlooked, but also has the benefit of not feeling totally isolated. I loved having the wrap around verandah and the views across the fields down to the sea were absolutely stunning. There was some nice touches, a loaf of bread and milk on arrival, plus a selection of fruit and sweets. Along with a plentiful supply of tea bags, coffee and complimentary sachets of hot chocolate and other beverages. The cabin benefits from free Wifi which was a bonus given that my phone company does not seem to cover the Island. I will definitely be making a return booking when I am next over on the Island. I would highly recommend Andy's cabin if you are looking for high quality self contained accommodation .

    Sharon2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Inside it is beautifully decorated, clean and cosy. There’s an amazing view over the hills and coast. We also loved seeing the chickens in the morning!

    Vikki2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great lodge in a brilliant location with a pub nearby (didn’t visit). Very clean with nice touches and good views. Good WiFi, Shower and TV. The host was very friendly making sure everything was okay. Lots of private space especially to park which most other accommodations on the island don’t have. Thank you for a great stay! Would definitely visit again.

    Lewis2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Highly Recommend this Amazing Place. So quiet and Peaceful with outstanding views, ideal for BBQ’s on the terrace. Lovely Pub at the top of the hill serves high quality home made food. Ideal location for getting around the island. Andy was so helpful and was really informative about where to go. The cabin was clean and perfect for couples. Thanks again for letting us stay we shall be back!

    Lucy2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place and very accessible to everywhere. Great views and the wildlife just outside your door is fab including hares and partridge. Andy was a great host and met us on arrival.

    Chris2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Air B&B booking and it was an outstanding success. Andy was the perfect host - everything had been thought of, even portable air-con units for the unexpectedly hot spell - and the log cabin was even more perfect than we had dared imagine. The location was quiet and rural, and the view was incredible, right down to the sea. Everything in the cabin was spotlessly clean, and nothing was missing, broken or damaged. 'The Blacksmiths' pub is 200 yards up the road, with a lovely garden and views across the fields right down to the bay in the distance. They serve superb food at a very reasonable price and have genuinely friendly, helpful staff too. We can't wait to go back to the Isle of Wight, and will definitely be booking Andy's Log Cabin when we do. Thank you.
