The terrace overlooks about 4 km from the lake in the direction of the sunset. On the terrace, there is a separate landscape sauna and a glazed atmospheric barbecue hut. Cottage Kotiranta is located on the shore of Lake Saimaa on Taipalsaari. The cottage is surrounded by nature, so you can spend some time in the spacious yard playing games or observing the birds from the terrace. The cottage's yard is bordered by a beach with a gloriously deepening sand/clay bottom. There is also a pier for swimming or sunbathing. You'll have access to a rowboat, so you can fish if you want to. Many guests are delighted with the abundant fish catches.

The immediate surroundings of the cottage are partly lawn, partly undisturbed nature. The terrace and the combined kitchen/livingroom have a view to the slope declining towards the lake. The yard on the other side of the cottage is flat. The neighbouring waters are sheltered and well suitable for paddling or other water activities.
