Hekluhestar farm guesthouse

Our guesthouse was built by my parents, with the idea that it would be similar to the viking houses in the old days : a big open space, divided in three parts. It's nothing too fancy, but all basic necessities are here ! You also have access to two extra bathrooms and showers, and a sauna. The farm has horses, sheep, chicken and dogs roaming around ! The accommodation is strategically located, about one hour from Reykjavik, from the black sand beaches of Vik, and from the Golden circle.

My place is close to The Golden Circle and the Highlands. The place has picturesque view. You can see Hekla, Eyjafjallajökul, Langjökull through the windows of the cottage. Closed to the cottage is Skálholt church, one of Iceland´s most important historic sites. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the coziness, the kitchen, the hot tub. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers. Only 2 km to Health service. If you have back problems we have a soft mattress for you.

This luxury house is located in a beautiful private place in the middle of the Golden Circle. Enjoy the northern lights without any light pollution. We want great comfort for our guests, all beds are with high quality bed linens from Lin Design. The kitchen is well equipped. The terrace is equipped with furniture and a Weber gas bbq. Our newly renovated cottage is in the centre of the golden circle overlooking the Tungufljót river. There are spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers from the house. The house is a perfect base from which to explore the fantastic sights the golden circle and the surrounding area has to offer. All the main attractions such as Geysir (less than 10 mins drive), Gullfoss (under 20 min) and Thingvellir (about 40 min) are easy to get to from the cottage.
