Monthly Rentals in Quahog Bay

We totally enjoyed our stay in Harpswell. We took several of the walks on the Land Trust list all very well sign posted off the side of the road. Don’t miss Giants steps. Lisa’s white folder had brochures that described all this. We also enjoyed popping in to the local potteries-of which there are many- the potters were very interested in talking about their craft. We liked Ash Cove especially. The house was very well situated for seeing all of the fun things around. We ate out in wonderful restaurants. We loved The Dolphin and the fabulous views from the windows and property. The Owls Nest is great too for relaxing in, we enjoyed the deck and the very comfortable living room. lots of nice amenities -nice washer and dryer, great shower. Just a great place to stay.

We had a great time at Sherri's place memorial day weekend. It was nice and quiet most of the time and we even had loons calling during most mornings and evenings. The drive to the nearby parks and restaurants was very reasonable. We really enjoyed dinner at Dolphin's Marina and particularly enjoyed our walks around Hamilton Audubon Sanctuary and Curtis Farm Preserve. Popham beach was a bit more of a drive but we found it worth it for a day at a beautiful beach. We went on an off day (Tuesday) as soon as it opened and it wasn't busy but it clearly has infrastructure for big crowds, which wouldn't have been our thing. Overall it was a perfect location for a home base and had everything we needed in well utilized space. It was peaceful to come back to and offered a view of the bay where we were able to see ducks, loons, and even an osprey nest across the bay (best viewed with a spotting scope). There was nice bird song around the property and we found the beds very comfortable too.

Absolutely beautiful setting over looking a bay full of lobster boats and sailboats. You can enjoy your morning coffee on the deck right outside your den, in some large Adirondack chairs under some trees, or out at the end of a long floating pier. Miles and miles of hiking trails are minutes away. We saw large flocks of turkeys every day within a couple of hundred yards of the cabin. We saw deer and seals on hikes. When you find something like this, there’s no reason to keep looking for something better. You’re not going to find it.

A very comfortable and cozy place to use as we attended Bowdoin College's reunion weekend. We didn't get to spend any time, really, in Harpswell because the weekend was filled with activities. We are hoping that our travels will take us to Brunswick again so that the next time we can stay with Bill and Aylane and explore the area around their home.
