In the middle of the forest, on a clearing, 3 km from the beautiful town of Gartow, lies our special retreat. If you are looking for peace and quiet in nature and value simplicity and goodness, this is the place. The old half-timbered building, a former stable, was renovated with high quality and sustainably with natural materials. Clay plaster on the walls and the wood-burning stove guarantee an excellent indoor climate, and the walk to the wood-fired sauna promises absolute relaxation!

Here you can expect long forest walks, cycling tours on popular cycling trails, storks, stick bread and stars, paddling on and swimming in nearby lakes and rivers.

Enjoy the peace and quiet or become part of the community – you decide! Our lovingly furnished half-timbered house in the old town offers everything you need for a relaxing time on the Mecklenburg Lake District. On two floors with a large garden and a terrace, there are enough retreats to escape everyday life. A large fireplace offers cozy warmth on colder days. Lake Plau is within walking distance, as are various shopping and leisure activities in the sweet old town of Plau am See.

Gülitz country house on the picturesque village green

The church square with our country house is located in a picturesque village surrounded by lots of nature. The mighty elm in front of the house has shaded the village green with the pear trees for about 800 years. With us, the visitor can just be and forget the big city. You can stroll through meadows and fields, bathe in the forest lake or just watch the storks on our barn.
