“A rare and valuable opportunity to stay with a local family and see the real Cambodian life in a fishing village, it was an amazing experience and three days passed too quickly! The hostess of the family prepares food for everyone, a variety of Khmer dishes - guests usually eat all together on a pleasant wooden terrace on the water. There you can swing in a hammock and read books, watch fishing boats pass by. Each guest lives in his own clean room with a fan and a mosquito net, we slept in comfortable wide beds. The bathroom is modest, but its own in every room! A convenient toilet, but there is no shower as such, but a barrel of water and a ladle are perfectly adapted for it. There is not always electricity, but again, it is part of the local life! The village is considered large, it provides fish for most of the island. Joni is a fantastic host, tells a lot of stories, helps on any issue, shows the surroundings on a kayak or motobike. You can plant trees, look at fireflies, at plankton, or just at sunset. The village has shops with everything you need.”

“We loved our stay here so much that we tried to stay longer but unfortunately it was fully booked. All of the staff was friendly and showed us tips for around the island. It is a bit of a walk from the pier, but it’s easy to get a water taxi and they will help call you one of you need. Breakfast buffet was great and while you do have to walk from the pier to get there, the location is awesome and secluded once you are there. Best sunset views from the side of the island the resort is on.”
Our bungalows are right on the beach and include a private bathroom, air conditioner and hot water! We are located in the north end of Koh Touch beach, just a short walk on the beach to the south to the main village on Koh Rong, and 10 minutes jungle walk to next remote beach (4k Beach). You are going to love our place because it is quiet and chill, nice and clean, far enough from the noise and the dirt but close enough to the nightlife and beautiful beaches.
“The beach view bungalows and especially the white beach in front of the accommodation is just one of a kind! Thanks a lot for having us! Some tips for your stay in Koh Rong: - Do not book the day tour (snorkelling, fishing, long beach, plankton) as it is a waste of time... - Book the plankton tour starting at 7PM (only if you are not afraid of swimming by night) - Try the food in the local restaurants/kitchens - We did not have any stomach problems and the food was better and obviously way cheaper than at the non-local places - Amok tastes amazing! - Don't bring drinks/food/cigarettes - nearly everything is 1USD there :) We continued our trip to Koh Rong Samloem, which was a disappointment compared to the white beach. The accommodations there can apparently not stand the amount of tourists (e.g. plenty of sewage water pipes directly at the beautiful beach) and nature already got harmed. It is a pity to see that and you can just hope that the situation won't get worse...”
