“I had booked in to stay in one of Phi's other rooms, but sadly there was a fire next door and the room was damaged shortly before my stay. Phi contacted me immediately and was completely open with me about what had happened. She arranged another place for me to stay for two nights and then when the electricity and water in the building was fixed she offered me one of her other apartments (min 4) where I stayed for the rest of my trip. The room was lovely, very light and clean. There is a little bit of noise from the street but not more than you would get anywhere in Phnom Penh. Phi was incredibly responsive throughout - whatever questions I had for her or a few little issues relating to the repairs being done on the property during my stay, she replied straight away and resolved everything. The damage from the fire was almost fixed by the time I left so I wouldn't think that future guests would have any problems from construction. I would definitely recommend Phi's place.”

“I stayed in Kimsie's place alone for two weeks. When I saw his house for the first time, I really liked it because it looked very comfy to me. I really love the decoration and it is simple and clean. The house has everything I need from stove, refrigerator, air conditioning, fan, TV, bed, microwave, and washing machine. I enjoyed how quiet it is, and I liked looked up from the balcony to see the neighbors' homes. Each home in the neighborhood is unique. And every evening a black cat would walk past to check if I have any food left for him. I like staying in this house so much. The house was quiet but not boring, It was calming and relaxing. The hot shower was perfect, The owner, Mr. Kimsie, was very helpful. He ordered extra household stuff and some detergent and alcohol for me to use to clean. He guided me around and he fixed the stove once. The neighbors are also very friendly, they talked to me and were able to help me if I needed anything. I’d recommend this house if you visit Phnom Penh and like to cook for yourself and stay in a place that feels like home. It is located in the best location close to the riverside, restaurants, clubs, the National Museum, and the Royal Palace. It is also located in a safe area.”

“I really enjoyed Sam’s place. Everything is as pictured and described. It felt larger than pictured, actually. Great a/c and quiet space with lots of light and great looks on the city in different directions. There are actually *two* separate, small balconies which I don’t think the listing describes in detail. Appreciated the good, hot shower and washing machine coming up to PP from the islands. The relatively quiet and tree-lined neighborhood is cool. It has a nice dichotomy of hip restaurants and local food, both divey bars and cocktail bars, and public Russian market/ private shop options. Pretty quick and cheap to tuk tuk to the noisier and busier tourist spots more north and nearer to the river. As the other reviews mention there are indeed stairs but they aren’t steep or narrow and the doorman appeared instantly at check-in and check-out to carry bags. Sam helped me with some local info along the way and also in facilitating both a very late check-in and the safe-keeping of luggage to recollect for a late flight out.”
