In the area you can feel free to go hiking or cycling. Directly at a junction route. Public transport and a supermarket are within cycling/walking distance. Drachten and Groningen are 15-25 minutes away by car. Leeuwarden is about 45 minutes drive. Breakfast package possible, preferably passed on before arrival.

The barn was such a lovely place to stay for a peaceful weekend. Caroline and Bart were so helpful and gave fantastic recommendations. If you’re looking for day trips, it’s also a perfect base for exploring. We drove 30 minutes to catch a ferry to one of the nearby islands and it was perfect. The barn has loads of space and a lovely picnic table outside that was in sunshine and perfect for eating/drinking. Will definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay in the large holiday home with the whole family. Everything was as described (Please note: There is no grill). With a direct view of the suckler cows with their calves. The downstairs bedroom is a dream! The campsite, to which the house belongs, was designed close to nature with freely mowed pitches and some paths. In between, the grass was allowed to grow. We had a great trip with the canoes, through the adjacent extensive pasture landscape, with fallow birds, lapwings and oystercatchers♥️. A special experience for every nature lover. There was also plenty for the children to discover (water play area, go-karts, trampoline). The holiday home is well located to get to the ferry to Schiermonnikoog or to Dokkum (a very nice place). However, there is no other infrastructure directly on site.
