Apartment holiday rentals in Penobscot River

This clean and quiet cabin was really well appreciated. The morning coffee was perfect with cold cream in the fridge. Soft sheets and perfect pillows made for comfortable beds Judy is so hospitable and welcoming too!

Great little place about an hour from Acadia/Bar Harbor. Some things that stood out were there aren’t curtains/blinds on the bathroom window or the patio door so if you like to shower at night it’s a little weird. Also there are a lot of stairs to get up to the loft and the bed is low to the ground. Some perks were that the place was nicely decorated, it was stocked with organic products and linens in the bathroom and had all kitchen essentials, has an office if you need to work, has a nice river area you can walk to down the street.

Clean and spacious place. Love the recliners in the living room. View of the river is wonderful. Only downsides are street noise from passing cars at nice and really soft beds (though that’s a personal preference)

Great stay close to everything you need in Bangor. Everything you need for a comfortable night, or multiple as was our case. Everything was as described. Thanks for everything!

I needed a super quiet, super dark, comfortable place to stay overnight for a work training where I had to be up and out at 5am. I'm not a morning person so a great night's sleep was imperative. Justin's place fit the bill. It's a very private location and totally dark and private, set up in the trees. Strong wifi. Good TV. Space feels brand new. Mattress and pillows very comfortable. I didn't cook (took out dinner from one of the really special restaurants nearby) but the brand new fully equipped kitchen seemed well-stocked with everything you'd need, including spices plus condiments in the fridge--I believe there was even a carton of 1/2 and 1/ but I had to get going before using the Keurig. Has a w/d. Lots of nice touches throughout the place, including cool vintage lights and brand new cozy throws in a basket--the night was chilly and raining and it was so nice to be snugged up in this space! PS - I needed a full-length mirror and Justin brought one up within minutes!

Such a beautiful little farmhouse! When putting in the address, it took us to the wrong location, but Amy answered the phone and helped us arrive to the correct place. She even gave us some delicious pot pies for the inconvenience. I've never written a review before, but this place impressed my mom and I so much I had to write a review! She's so thoughtful and has everything you could imagine stocked in the airbnb. From extra linens, to snacks, sandwich baggies, and even reusable water bottles! If I ever go back to Acadia, I would stay here again. The photos don't do it justice, the place is adorable! Thanks so much Amy!

The place was so nice, cozy and we found everything we needed. The location was great and we loved the restaurants near by. Jennifer always responded to any question and left us some delicious cookies. Our experience in Acadia was unforgettable!

This is our second stay with Doug at this location. We loved it the first time, and it only got better. They added bed side lamps and television sets in both bedrooms. Everything was clean and comfortable. Everything is close by. Can't recommend this spot highly enough.

We loved staying at Lisabeth's place! The apartment is huge and looks just like the pictures. Much bigger than expected. We really appreciated the extra touches to make it feel like home, like a full length mirror, clocks in every room, a luggage rack and extra blankets. The beds were super comfortable too. The location is walkable to several coffee shops, restaurant/bars and other small businesses. We were in town mainly to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Ellsworth was an easy 40 minute drive. Great location to stay outside of the hubbub but still be able to easily enjoy the area! I wouldn't hesitate to book there again!

Amazing place! Easy parking and gorgeously decorated. Easy access to the park. Only thing to note is kitchen doesn’t have an oven.

Great location, easy to get to everything we needed in town and we even had dinner delivered to us at the home. Clean, well-appointed, host was very responsive when I reached out, just perfect for our needs!

We had a very relaxing and peaceful weekend at Andrew’s place! The interior was gorgeous and comfortable, the backyard and path down to the water were so pretty and private. Andrew was super responsive, kind, and helpful. Belfast is an adorable little town, we would definitely go back.

The experience left nothing to be desired as we were looking for a remote spot and a place comfortable and spacious enough to stay inside during bad weather and Jeff’s place checked the boxes. We were the only ones in the 2 unit home. The view is very pretty and the wildlife is plentiful. The access to the water is down a dirt embankment which leads to mud flats at low tide. Beware of the tides if you can get the kayaks down there.

Keelan was a great host and space was as described. They were prompt in responding to every need and quick to resolve minor issues. The space is new and fresh and is a quiet getaway yet close enough to Bangor and Brewer amenities. The only negative is that the couch is not very comfortable but that is likely due to it being a sleep sofa. Would be happy to stay there again.

Definitely book this apartment for a cozy, peaceful retreat! Just as the pictures indicate, everything was updated and immaculately clean. But there is much more not included in the posting or pictures. Samantha provides the softest towels money can buy, night lights, a very comfortable bed, luxury soaps and lotions, and little welcome gifts. She also shares personalized recommendations in advance of your visit based on your interests. If I were to make any suggestions, a few more dishes in the kitchen would be helpful if there are more than two guests. But overall, this was one of the nicest rentals we have experienced thru any website, and we highly recommend.

We had a great stay at Open Hearth Inn. Arthur is a great host. We had an issue with door of our cottage not being locked. He addressed our concern immediately and provided us with another accomodation so that we could feel safe at night.

A must stay for those exploring Acadia/Bar Harbor! The Open Hearth Inn was truly a family feel. The owners and the wonderful management team thought of everything you could want/need. This included treats for doggos, snacks for guests, board games, and even s’more kits to enjoy by the fire. Very quick drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor but also a lovely place to hangout on the days when you can’t do one more hike. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We felt right at home at the Open Hearth Inn. Arthur and his team were very friendly and helpful. The inn is stocked with everything you need to enjoy your stay, including snacks and treats for both humans and pups. We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub when we weren’t hiking in Acadia. Definitely a great experience!

We LOVED our stay at Open Hearth Inn! We booked the room as a landing space during our trip to Acadia and it was perfect. The coziest and quaintest space, just outside of busy Bar Harbor! There were so many amenities (hot tub, full kitchen, fire pit, etc.) and the hosts were so generous and welcoming- there were even brownies left for guests one morning! 😭❤️ There are a plethora of guides and recommendations from the hosts in the lobby, we utilized them to find a kayaking spot during our trip. The common spaces are equally as cozy as the home, complete with loads of games and a TV! We are so glad we chose Open Hearth Inn and enjoyed spending time in the most homely and beautiful space!

I can't say enough about this place. Traveling with 4 seniors with mobility problems can be a challenge but Linda was beyond amazing and accommodating. The home had everything you needed and more. I can't wait to be able to come back

Perfect studio. Used the jetted tub, nice and relaxing. Lots of extras (new toiletries, coffee, filters, sugar, etc.) much appreciated and used. The view, esp at sunrise, was stunning. Quiet neighbors. The beach store (pizza, sandwiches, salads, coffee and more) was very good. Just down stairs and one building over. (get there early for their muffins) I would certainly stay here again.

Robin was very communicative and thoughtful during our stay. The place was exactly as described in the listing and was immaculate upon our arrival. The space was decorated tastefully and had everything we needed to be comfortable. Great location to be near the fair in the fall! Would recommend this location and host.
