Wow. This seaside cottage is simply amazing. Its charming, homely and authentic, nothing grand, nothing fake, nothing ostentatious, but tastefully decorated (the attention to detail is perfection) and with everything one needs, ample plug points, extra comfy blankets and a fully stocked kitchen. The fireplace creates the perfect ambiance for winter days and cosy nights. The ocean view is magical. Sitting and reading while listening to the ocean on an extraordinary long builtin couch was pure bliss. We were lucky to have two beautiful sunny days despite it being May and used the fireplace area at the back for a family braai which was more affirmation this house is perfect for every season. To us with all its character and charm this is the quintessential South African beach cottage..

Good tip to spend some time in the Cliff Walk and best to go there in the early morning, peaceful place.

Big house close to town and cliff walks. Theo had great recommendations as well. We stayed in the winter and the house was cold. Would be great in the summer!

A great stay in Kwaaiwater with Annie large open space for family and entertainment with all the facilities. Easy access to the front and cliff path (one road back from front).

The house was neat and tidy and the bedding was super soft. We had a very good stay and appreciated the housekeeper coming in mid stay to do a linnen swap for us. Would recommend.

Johan’s place is exactly what is in the pictures and more. It is tastefully decorated and curated to travel needs. We had a lovely time, everything went smoothly from check in to check out. I have stayed in Hermanus on several occasions at different places but Johan’s place has been the best! I highly recommend, its 5 stars!

Our stay was exceptional! The house was spotless and equipped with everything we needed. It was exactly as described and is very centrally located. It’s close to the Saturday Hermanus market and a 5 minute drive from Woolworths, Checkers, restaurants and coffee shops. We particularly enjoyed the braai area / patio overlooking the garden and view of the mountain. Louise was great to deal with, both before and during our stay. We felt at home and would absolutely love to stay here again. Highly recommended!

Lovely stay. Great location for those, like us, who don’t want to drive once they get to where they’re going. Walked to the harbour on cliff Road for sushi and a eco boat tour. Spent lovely evenings in the garden which gets the evening sun.

Very easy to find and positioned so well in the town. Everything is in walking distance! Safe parking and a nice apartment! We enjoyed our stay thoroughly 🙌🔥

Esther is a gracious host, very hospitable and helpful, and the apartment is very nicely situated, a short walk to the Cliff Path, beaches, and amenities. We felt comfortable and safe, and enjoyed all the conveniences, including a "braai" outside om the patio and a washing machine in the garage :-) Were we to return to Hermanus in the future, we would definitely like to stay there again!

We had a wonderful time at La Mer flatlet. Beautiful views and good accommodation. It was cold and raining, but the inside fireplace was the place to be to watch the waves crashing over the rocks in front of the house. Will visit again. Good value for money.

Such an amazing place and host, loved the fact that Colin bought us coffee, juice and milk.. the place is a literal dream and spotless . Colin is always available to respond and assist with whatever , very polite and made it so easy to live in his house .
