The place was exactly what we were looking for, to get away and do some spring hiking. Vanessa was great with communication.

We enjoyed our stay, the house was clean and well cared for, our hosts even sent their cleaner over for a freshen up before we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed for cooking meals, including a cookbook we enjoyed. One of the best things about this house is how close it is to Starved Rock, Buffalo Rock and Mathison parks!

We had a great short stay. Great location with many amenities. Nice decor and layout. My kids had fun with the foosball, air hockey, and swing-set. Beds were very comfortable. Would definitely stay again for a longer duration when back in the area.

There is only one bathroom, but if you can get over that this house makes a wonderful stay for larger families with kids or pets. The living areas are spacious and so is the fenced-in yard. I liked the historical architecture of the house, and the furniture matches the aesthetic. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful views, great layout, and extremely dog friendly with nice touches make this place stand out! Very close to all the state parks in the area, but there’s plenty to do on site as well. Check in was seamless, we had clear instructions throughout, and the place was perfect!

It was a great stay for me and my son and his wife and my two grandsons. The boys loved all the games and us adults really liked the pool table. Didn't get to enjoy the pool while we were there cause it was too early in the season, but all in all a really nice place to relax. It's got everything you need there minus the food of course.Give it a shot you won't be disappointed.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is in a quiet, pet friendly neighborhood with lovely views of the river. Everything we needed was provided and we liked the layout of the house. Regarding sleeping accommodations, there are beds for 6 people (2 queens with twin bunks above each) and additional sleeping options are provided via a pull-out sofa and 2 futons.

We come from Chicago a couple times a year to hike at Starved Rock, Matthiesen, etc, so we thought we would try staying for a full weekend. This place was the perfect fit. It was pet friendly, so our dog could come along, and it had great amenities at the resort. The staff was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Our team enjoyed a comfortable stay. Host was responsive and accommodating . We will definitely book here again when in town

Cute farmhouse with a friendly owner and cows. There are a lot of ladybugs within the house but they do not bother. There is no stair railing to climb upstairs so keep this in mind if older guests who have difficulty with mobility are staying here. Will stay again.

We were so happy to have the fenced in yard for our pup. Elaine was very helpful with providing information about the area. She gave us treats for our dog, including a toy. We enjoyed the area and the state parks. The home is worn but very clean and comfortable.

The home was missing a few necessities but the owner was responsive and brought the items within the hour.

House was great! Had everything my crew and I needed. Very comfortable and the deck over looking the lake was a great place to relax after work.

Amazing location and very peaceful. portapotties were clean and had amenities. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful getaway.

We only ended up staying one night as the weather was not cooperating with our plans. The place was cote and clean and close to the parks we were hoping to visit. Elaine gave lots of local recommendations. Hopefully we will be back sometime.
