Beachfront holiday rental in Österåker Municipality

Beautiful island house in nature with large terrace, (warm) outdoor shower and outdoor toilet with water views! During the Swedish summer holidays there are numerous ferry connections and on the main island some restaurants, from mid-August at least the Coop. Unfortunately, the beach house is not part of the rental, but a nice large jetty. The house is better accessible by boat than via the forest path.

It was a wonderful stay with our three kids at the summer house on Stora Aspön. It is such a peaceful island with the houses located in the premium spot of the island with sun on the porch all day and right next to the north bay. During our stay it was perfectly sheltered from the south and west winds, which allowed for relaxed swimming and all three kids learning not only to row but also sailing in the little kids dinghy. I definitely recommend to book the boats, which are also essential for shopping and exploring the seemingly endless world of islands. Eleonor and her family were very nice and helpful to us when we had some questions. Thank you very much for everything!

Pierre's house is truly a “gem in the Stockholm archipelago”. The house is large, very nicely cut and has the "certain something". The highlight is the very nicely made sauna overlooking the water. It can also be illuminated nicely at night. Paddle boat and stand up paddle complete it all. There is another house on the property, which is also rented out. Sometimes very nice people and we got along well. We had a fantastic week and would love to come again anytime. Communication with Pierre was also very pleasant and we got valuable tips.

We stayed two nights with Lena and Richard in their nice and very charming house in early June 2025. The house is small but has the amenities needed and is fantastically located right by the water. Sitting at the edge of the jetty under the alder tree is almost like being abroad. Lena and Rochard are very nice, thoughtful and careful that the guests have a good time. Top hosts, simply, and we will gladly come back.

Perfect for a two day trip if you want to enjoy some nature, cabin as descrived- simple- but efficient ! I would recommend !

Very good location just a few meters from waxholm boat, coop shop and restaurant. (In low season, store and restaurant have limited hours, check in advance). Saga responded quickly and helpfully when we had questions. The home is close to the water but maybe didn't really have the view I was expecting. Ingmarsö a wonderful island for hiking and nature experiences., very beautiful.

Everyone who was there was completely shocked and positively surprised. It was like a dream come true. 🔥

We had an amazing stay at Rika's place in Saltsjobaden. It exceeded all expectations and both us and our kids felt right at home from the moment we stepped in. The house is perfectly set up for a family. Everything is super easy to find and the house has everything and more you could ask for. We also absolutely loved the location. It was easy to get to and easy to get around.

We had such an amazing time. The house was a few minutes walk from the sea and a lovely beach area. There was a lovely walk way along the water that took you into the forest. The house was lovely. So well equipped with everything you would need. Absolutely amazing. We will definitely come back. Maria was such a helpful host, very responsive and helpful which really made our stay even better.

For nature lovers a dream, we had squirrels from time to time on the balcony. Deer who ran by at your doorstep. The trip to the island itself was also always very relaxing with the ferry. Shopping nearby. Tomas took great care of us and if what happened, he immediately made an effort to arrange. We were well received and looked after by an employee on site, he also gave us great tips for the area just great thank you. We were welcome and well taken care of, it couldn't be better. Tomas was responsive and proactive. He made sure that we were familiar with the property and addressed any needs we had. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and cookware and eating utensils. The house was well decorated and provided a feeling of comfort. The home's design was fun and unique and the hot tub a perfect end for a busy day!

Great villa in a small town with nice swimming pool and jacuzzi. A really wonderful place to relax. And yust ten minutes walk to a station that brings you to the centre of Stockholm. Sometimes there are planes coming over but I was the only one in my family noticing them. The host Simon does everything he can to give you and your family a wonderful stay. My kids loved this place, for them it was the best of Sweden.

Eva and her family were very welcoming hosts. We had everything we needed and more during our stay at their beautiful and special place. We even enjoyed a bath in the pool. We had a lovely view from the terrace and the surrounding is also nice and green and with good restaurants. Thank you for having us!

Very beautiful house, surroundings and quiet nature. Our expectations were exceeded. You just need to know that the ferry is the island’s only infrastructure. The schedule can be sparse, especially off season. Pragmatic and easy to reach hosts.

Margareta's house is situated in a magic location. The view onto the bay is simply breathtaking, the vast premises and the garden are ever so beautiful, the jetty with access to the sea is great. You can either use your own terrace in front of your house, the one down at the jetty or the sweet winter garden at the highest point of the property. The house is very cosy and perfect for a couple with one child. Margareta is a lovely host, quick to answer all your questions. We can warmly recommend renting this house.

Gabriel’s was incredibly helpful, friendly and always responded very fast to any questions. He met us when we arrived on the island, showed us around the house and gave us lots of tips to island life. Stegasund is very beautiful, the perfect holiday escape. We settled in very fast and found life on the island such a treat between swimming off the jetty, tennis & walks. We even had the pleasure of chatting to a few of the locals. The house is beautifully designed and very homely to relax in. We rented Gabriel’s boat which I have to say was one of the highlights of the holiday and made us feel very authentic to the Archipelago way of life. In just a 5min boat ride you are over in Vaxholm which made getting supplies very easy. There is also plenty of lovely spots for lunch there too. For longer trips to explore other islands we used the public boats. I highly recommend Setusund & Gabriel’s stunning house. The Delahunty’s

The small private beach right by the house is very nice. The warm shower overlooking the sea makes bathing in the sea a highlight even on cooler days. Lise-Lotte and her family are incredibly hospitable. It is not a matter of course to be picked up from the ferry dock. The welcome was very very warm and we were grateful that Lise-Lotte transported our luggage to the accommodation. If you are looking for peace and an island with great hiking trails and swimming spots, this is the place to be. We would always come back!

We are so happy with the stay! The house was so nice, and you immediately felt at home. Everything was clean and fresh, and the beds were made upon arrival! The kids appreciated that there were some toys in the house. The area was also very cozy and extremely quiet. The beach was only a few minutes away, which made it easy to just walk down and take a swim. We would absolutely recommend both Ljusterö as a destination, and this home to others!

We (a family with two children aged 6 and 11) spent a week in Mattias‘ house in warm and sunny late august. We liked it very much. The house and the interiors are old, so don’t expect a high end resort. But it offers great opportunities. Beautifuly situated, direct access to both shallow and deeper water, an own jetty, many beds, a beautiful garden, good shop and boat within walking distance. Mattias was very kind, flexible, friendly and helpful.

We had such a nice stay at Marie and Tomas's great house! It was important for us that we could reach the place by public transport and the house is a 5-minute walk from the bus stop and 5 minutes from the ferry dock. We came by ferry from Stockholm - a beautiful ride through the archipelago and were picked up by Marie and warmly welcomed. She showed us around and explained everything and was always available. We all loved the house and would have preferred to move in forever. With the bikes we were able to visit many wonderful places on the island, such as the old ferry dock,the lighthouse, the lake, the small stand where the boat is located that we liked to use. Since the holidays in Sweden were already over, it was very quiet on the island and we were mostly alone everywhere. We also enjoyed the beautiful garden, the most amazing shower in the world under the open sky and the sauna. We highly recommend everything and will certainly be happy to come back! Thank you!
