Smoking-friendly holiday rentals in Northeast Italy

A wonderful experience to stay a few days in the apartment 'Two seas'. Everything was to our liking and the area is fantastic. The bistro set on the balcony is of course very cozy, but it would also be nice if you could grab some more comfortable chairs with cushions after a long walk. Furthermore, everything was perfectly arranged.

We had a wonderful first stay at Lake Garda in Daniele's apartment. The location is unique and the view wonderful, we felt right at home. The welcome by Daniele's parents was wonderful and we were able to communicate with Daniele at any time and get tips for the area. Falling asleep or cooking and having breakfast with a view of Lake Garda makes the visit relaxing and beautiful after all the activities. The apartment is also very nicely furnished and the postcards are simply beautiful. Grazie Daniele!

The apartment was clean. Close to restaurants and grocery but far enough away from the crowds to be relaxing. Filippo is a very good host and very responsive.

Alessandro’s place is the real deal—a true penthouse! In the U.S., “penthouse” sometimes just means top floor, but here it means an apartment with two massive sliding glass doors that open onto a spacious private terrace. We spent afternoons soaking up the sun and evenings relaxing outside after dinner as Florence cooled down—it was perfect. The location is also super convenient, right next to a tram stop that's only three stops from the city center. We had a wonderful time in Florence and would absolutely stay here again!

This is a wonderful apartment in the heart of Riomaggiore. It is steps away from the Marina, overlooks the beautiful coastline, and is near all of the bars, restaurants and shops in town. The apartment has all that you could want or need - an updated shower with fast hot water, a beautiful little kitchen, a spacious couch facing the ocean, and a very comfortable large bed. Elena was so friendly and responsive, offering local recommendations, helping us carry our luggage to the apartment, and arranging for everything for us. We loved starting our morning with an espresso on the balcony overlooking the little harbor. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We highly recommend this place!

This place is amazing mostly thanks to its roof terrace - it was rather windy this time but otherwise I could imagine spending half of the day on this terrace above Adriatic and watch the blue sea. Clean, cute and stylish place, I loved staying there! Communication was easy and friendly:) Recommended!

Valeria's place was absolutely the best! Apartment was in pristine condition, had everything we needed and very easy to get to and from all over Venice including all major attractions. We loved our stay and cant wait to go back again!

Very easy to find and close to funicular that ran every 30 minutes on schedule. At least 5 restaurants for lunch and dinner. Small store for basics. Terrace facing northeast was wonderful in the morning. Umbrellas for shade if needed. Washer with folding clothesline to dry inside or out. We only used the main bedroom and bath - both on second floor. Very nice. The second bedroom was on the second floor and second bath was in the basement - did not use those spaces or the sitting room in walkout basement. Kitchen stocked with basics for electric coffee maker (a bit noisy) and hand brother. Gas stove for heating milk. Toaster oven. Large grid freezer with many ice trays. Enjoyed the cat that showed up A few times. Easy 20 min walk from main train station (not Centro) to funicular. Main station also had many bus connections like to Grotta Giusti but only to swim in outdoor pool. You can’t swim in the cave - too bad. Would love to come back.

Comfortable and cozy house with a quiet internal garden that offers a crazy view of the lake. It was a regenerating and relaxing stay.

As others have said—all of the reviews are spot on! A unique setting in the countryside about 30 minutes drive to Parma on mountain roads, beautiful historic building and grounds (with tastefully updated bathrooms to go with the historic charm, plus even a clothes washer and dryer you can access, a rarity in Italy), and a consummate host in Maria Teresa. Using her knowledge and connections to get personalized tours of smaller local parmigiano and prosciutto factories was a real highlight, and we especially enjoyed the nearby Torrechiara castle as well. The kids loved her animals too. 10/10 stay!

Beautiful apartment attached to the main house but very private , you have you own little patio area to sit outside that’s not overlooked by anyone . The apartment is immaculate and lots of nice little touches , lots of provisions provided including toilet pater , shower gel , washing up liquid etc. There are 2 restaurants within 5 minutes walk , we only ate at the one up the hill and the food was amazing and reasonably priced . Our 2 dogs loved the freedom of the secluded countryside and the geese that lived there were securely fenced off . You can hear the noise from the adjoining house but if you have quiet neighbours it’s not a problem .

Cristina is the perfect host and the house is beautiful. The surroundings are amazing and the views......wow! All through the booking and our stay there Cristina was swift to answer any questions we had and also was happy to offer suggestions on places to go and where to eat. We had a perfect week there and I wouldn't hesitate to go back or to recommend her place to anyone else. Cristina and her sister met us at the house and showed us round, clearly pointing out all the relevant bits that we would need to know. Thank you so much for making our week in Italy so special and enjoyable......we are already looking to come back!

Giulia's apartment is simply outstanding! It's location at the top of the town in Manarola provides spectacular views of both the sea and vineyards. The apartment has obviously been recently renovated. The kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms are very comfortable with all the modern amenities. The new windows can be fully opened which allowed a lovely breeze into the apartment. I would definitely recommend Giulia's apartment to anyone wishing to explore Cinque Terre. Giulia was great host was was very responsive to the queries I had in advance of arriving. When we return to Cinque Terre we will definitely book this apartment.

We were only here for a stopover. The accommodation is very idyllic, we felt comfortable immediately.

awesome trip to Cinque Terre made extremely comfortable by Pietro hosting us. everything is within walking distance (train, beach, restaurants etc.) extremely helpful host and accommodating. highly recommend staying here if you are planning a few days in Cinque Terre.

Apartment is spacious, more beautiful than in the photos and clean. The room and bathroom are separated from the rest of the apartment by a door, so you have your privacy. The location of the apartment is a bit out of the way, but with a walk or the bus that leaves in front of the door, the city centre is easily accessible. The bus to Lake Garda, for example, also departs from near the apartment. Nicola is super friendly and helpful.

Thank you for letting us stay, Luigi! The place was amazing, with a great view of the Duomo. Bed was comfortable and the shower was great. Lots of room for 2 people, and can easily bed 4. Thank you for all the local tips and help :)

Bruno is an absolute legend! So responsive to our messages and really helpful. It was lovely to be greeted and shown around the apartment. The apartment is in a great location - the steps are worth it for the lovely view and serenity. Highly recommend!

We were immediately enchanted by this property. Everything here makes up the image that one can have of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. At the top of the hill overlooking the valley, the view is splendid and romantic. The property has been renovated with today's comforts while retaining its soul of yesteryear. You feel good right away, the energy is beneficial, nature, animals, everything is in harmony! The welcome, Oscar's cooking, the superb pool, the shaded terrace, the hearty homemade breakfasts! It's more than a crush, this place is a gem! We'll be back!

George was a great host, provided all the information we needed and helped us. The place was clean, easily accessible and very nice to stay in.

We booked because another guest's review said "just go for it" and I would offer the same advice to others. We had a great time enjoying coffee & wine on the terrace while watching boat traffic on the Grand Canal. Although there are Vaporetto stops nearby, we walked almost everywhere we went and it was great to explore the neighborhood. For a quiet night in, stop by Fried Land (just around the corner) for excellent take-out pasta.

We absolutely loved our stay at Olivia’s beautiful apartment in Venice. Everything was exactly as described — even better! Olivia is a wonderful, warm-hearted host who made us feel at home from the very first moment. We were greeted with a lovely welcome gift, and every detail in the apartment shows how much care she puts into making her guests feel comfortable. The rooftop terrace is simply stunning — the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine while soaking in the Venetian atmosphere. We also appreciated Olivia’s great local restaurant recommendations; we discovered some fantastic places away from the usual tourist crowds. The building itself has so much character and history — you truly feel like you’re living in old Venice, with authentic decor and a special charm you won’t find in modern hotels. In short: we felt completely at home and couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you, Olivia, for an unforgettable stay — we will definitely come back!
