This is a unique space, with stunning views of the waterfall and surrounding nature. Ideal for an adventurous weekend! Come prepared for little cellular network and slow Wi-Fi, since the place is isolated. On the other hand, the sound of nature takes on a fantastic dimension, the river water and the birds totally envelop us. Access is done (in the last 500m) by land.
“The house and the place where it is looks like it was out of a movie. Very quiet, just the sound of the water running perfectly regulated with the insulation of the house. Waking up to that view is a dream. Carolina and her father are super attentive. The house is very beautiful and very well maintained. To repeat soon because it only cost to leave that magical corner.”
Cabana Douro Paraíso is located on the bank of the Douro River between Porto and Régua. The magnificent landscape had surprised you every morning! The chalet is secluded for more privacy and surrounded by flowers! Possibility to park the car. We also offer breakfast, but it is not included in the price per night.
“An incredible place, unique, welcoming, comfortable, and with an incredible view of the Douro. An excellent place to disconnect from everything and rest. The very clean cabin, all made of wood by the hosts, a unique and loving place. A beautiful garden that we can enjoy. The hosts are always very approachable and careful, not to mention the incredible breakfast they prepared for us. A place without a doubt to repeat, which surprised us immensely.”
Situated in Arouca valley, this farm house with pool and jacuzzy is 50 km far from Oporto City. Has all comodities for some peacefull days among nature.
“The house is a great place to rest and get out of the city routine. The interior of the house is not dazzling but it is enough for 4 adults and two young children. The exterior is definitely the hallmark of this house . From the wonderful pool and the various fruit trees around it, to the view of the mountains, the outside is where you will always want to be. This of course in summer, in winter it can be different. We were lucky to have a fantastic time and with that we make the most of the pool. I ended up just being the only one to try the jacuzzi, but not for more than 1 minute, as the 38th who were on the street did not invite more. The hostess was always available to answer the questions we asked and gave suggestions on what to do and visit nearby. Things we liked the most: Outer space! The Pool, lawn, fruit trees (although none of them have fruits ready to eat). One day we ordered food from one of the restaurants recommended by Mrs. Maria Elisabete, Restaurante Avistada, and it was well worth it . The price, the flavor, the quantity and the fact that they will deliver to the door (subject to availability). What we liked least: The heat that is felt inside the house (Despite the AC help to combat this) The electrical panel is in one of the rooms, right next to the bed. The fridge / freezer did not freeze the meat very well. We did the shopping for the whole week and at the end of 2 days there was meat that had parts that were not frozen, so our suggestion for those who stay some time at the house and are not going to eat out or order food, is that instead of making shopping for the entire stay, do it every 3 days for example. The fact that the floor below has the issue of water and the smell of mold / moisture (which could only be felt on the floor itself). The house is not prepared for children. There is no high chair, extra bed / cot (for those traveling, for example). Some details that can be improved: The curtains of the rooms do not prevent that at 6 am it is completely inside the rooms during the day and at that hour there is already a heat that, without the air conditioning, ends up making sleep difficult (especially in the room with a bathroom, since the bathroom has no door or curtain on the window). The storage / organization of the wardrobes of the rooms, where all the textiles of the house are. The living room table, used for meals, is relatively small. For us it was enough, but if there are 6 adults it will be + more difficult to sit everyone. The banana tree that exists next to the balcony of the room does not have great capacity to shade the balcony and ends up covering the view so much over the mountains as about the pool. There are some trees that start at 5pm - start to cover the sun on one side of the pool and that later turns out to be almost in the whole pool. By chance one of the nights, a wind rose and ended up knocking down some of the branches of one of them, but the bigger tree is still there of stone and lime. Slightly cutting the tree was a small detail that could make the pool shine practically all day (if it is possible to cut). The bases of the parasols are not enough to support the weight of the hat. The least wind, and it was really minimal, made the hat start to fall, we had to be always attentive. In conclusion, it was a week well spent, where the good weather helped to remove the maximum benefit from the outside part of the house.”
