Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Newtown

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic house. It is full of character: we especially loved the massive fireplace where meals were presumably prepared back when it was an inn in the 1700s. It is also ridiculously spacious and very well furnished and equipped for a group of 10: the dining table easily seats 10, there is ample comfortable seating in the living room (not to mention at least 3 other sitting rooms one could gather in), and 8 of us were simultaneously cooking in the kitchen without anyone bumping elbows. Cooking here is a dream: there is a 6-burner+grill stove, 2 ovens, and all the equipment you could want (including a KitchenAid stand mixer and Vitamix blender). Moreover, Carly was an excellent host: she was always quick to respond, her messages were clear, and she generously allowed us to stay an extra hour to make our timing work out well. We highly recommend this house and would love to return.

No notes, incredible escape even in the pouring rain. The ambience, even down to the little things like walking through the door to classical music, was truly top notch.

This house was wonderful as I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to family and friends. The views from the balconies and windows were amazing! The house was absolutely beautiful and super clean. The location was secluded but still near shops and restaurants. We loved our stay!

Our stay included spending family time in front of the fireplace watching Disney shows and with time spent enjoying meals around the cozy kitchen table. Enjoyed our stay very much and hope to go back one day

Our stay was stunning. The location is quiet and peaceful yet close enough to the town to get what you may need. The home itself is absolutely gorgeous. It’s clean, the layout is beautiful, and the views are out of this world. A truly incredible place to stay. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was perfect, and each room has a full bath which was great for our family. Overall highly recommend

This may be the only Airbnb in Bethel and it is so perfect. This is our second stay in Sara's place in six months as we have family in Bethel and we will be renting with her only instead of staying at a hotel. It is private, clean and very comfortable and Sara always responded quickly if we had any questions. So many local restaurants and bars are within walking distance. We highly recommend renting her awesome house-we will definitely be back again. Sara, your place is a gem-thank you for being such a great host!

Cute, cozy, clean, and super close to the bike trail! Perfect stay for a weekend exploring the towns along the trail.

I believe this is our 4th or 5th visit here. We finally got to meet Mijail. What a great couple. We come back here because we really like staying there and it is so convenient to our daughter's house nearby. And its so nice to get away after a day with the grandkids. Pop a bottle of wine and unwind. We enjoyed the ceiling fan on arrival day as it was hot outside, but nice and cool inside. There is a big TV, but in all the stays we were there, we never once turned it on. Two energetic grandkids is exhausting. So its nice to retreat. This place is very private up on a hill. We never hear any neighbors. We will be back again.

We had a wonders stay, and could have moved it. Sue was very responsive to our questions. A very nice place to stay private and quiet.

We booked this place to be close the the festival downtown and it was. 1.3 miles or 25 minutes walk. Perfect for us. The Airbnb was clean and spacious. Shower is a little small but ok. King bed is very comfortable. Yummy welcome treats on the table was a nice touch. Keurig pods and maker available for your pleasure. Well lit and very secure. Felt safe at all times. Great place to book if you need to stay in this area.

Paul was so incredibly kind and good with communication. He gave clear instructions and everything was as expected. Such a wonderful and serene property and area. He provides such intricate details. I had a towel that was so incredible soft and looked brand new, he gave me soaps and a loofah, he provides toothpaste and he ever had jars with hair ties, cotton rounds, qtips, etc.!! Hello, talk about details!! He had a snack bar with yummy options and complimentary wine!! If you are looking for a place in Greenwich look no further! Very clean and comfortable! Tatenda is so sweet and responsive. Walkable to Yale and great restaurants, but also includes covered, safe parking in the building. We had fun grilling a dinner by the outdoor pool. Well-equipped workout rooms and the coffeemaker in the lobby was amazing offering a variety of options. We enjoyed everything about this Airbnb and will likely be back! Thank you Tatenda and Hyatus!

I chose Marlene’s lovely spot primarily because it was in a location convenient for short trips to visit family and friends in Wallingford, Middlebury and Middletown while on my way south from New Hampshire. The peaceful, quiet surroundings along with a spotless, well-appointed accommodation made it very appealing: highly recommended.

We were recently in town to visit family, staying at Traci’s made our visit enjoyable and relaxing. Check-in was easy, the apartment was clean with a comfortable bed and a peaceful view of the brook. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, thank you Traci!

Great spot and at a really good price. Was visiting for a Yale event and was near enough to feel close without being too close to downtown. The area around the place is also super cute and not one I had explored previously. Huge plus for some good coffee shops nearby and of course Pepe’s. Camila was a great and responsive host. 10/10 would recommend Camila and this spot.

Obinna is a great host and this apartment is so comfortable and lots of space to stretch out. Fully stocked kitchen and there are fantastic restaurants within walking distance. Two 65", high end tvs and the mattresses on the beds are sooo nice. Obinna puts effort in where a lot of hosts cheap out, which really makes this pad special. It's tough to get an open spot here on the calendar, but, if get the chance, make your reservation here. It's the best in the area.

Muna was incredible start to finish with my stay. Helpful, communicative and accommodating. Place was perfectly as described. Genuinely recommend a stay at her place!

We had a great stay at Julie’s place. There was a slight hiccup with check-in times but Julie was very communicative and sorted it out promptly. The place itself was great, beautiful waterfront views and a private beach. The weather wasn’t the best but we still made the most of it. The apartment was compact but big enough for 4 adults.
