Cottage holiday rentals in New Bern

We wanted something close to Camp Lejeune and not too far from the beach and this place checked both those boxes. Clean and quiet yet not too far from restaurants and shops. It was a very peaceful and relaxing getaway. Carol was an amazing host.

Staying at this Airbnb felt like a true escape. The location couldn't have been better – being mere steps from the beach was such a treat, allowing for spontaneous walks and the calming sound of the waves. It was wonderful to find such a genuinely dog-friendly place; my pups absolutely loved it, which made the stay even more enjoyable for me. The entire atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, and I found the off-season to be a particularly lovely time to visit, with beautiful weather and a sense of peacefulness. The property itself had everything I could possibly need, making it easy to settle in and feel comfortable. Amy was fantastic – always communicative and helpful, ensuring a smooth and easy stay. While there were plenty of options for things to do in the area, I also appreciated the opportunity to simply unwind and work remotely in such a serene setting. The upper deck was my favorite spot for getting sun many hours of the day. I’ve stayed in many airbnbs and this is a favorite!

Mallory & John were both very friendly, quick to respond and accommodating to our check in needs and questions throughout the stay. The home was clean and well equipped. Perfect for my family and only 10 mins from the beach! The kids loved the pool and backyard space for fishing, running around and relaxing in the hammocks. My only suggestion would be to pack bug spray for the back yard since you are near the lake (the mosquitoes loved us!) and to be prepared for a bit of a bumpy ride into the neighborhood as there are many potholes in the gravel road leading up to the house. Not a complaint and not the hosts fault of course. Just want to help! We would stay here again :)

I have booked multiple Air BnB’s this by far has been the best experience. The home was beautifully decorated and very welcoming. The snacks were an added bonus and perfectly picked! If you are considering booking this DO IT! Board games and books are available. Kristy has equipped that house with exactly what you need to enjoy time as a couple or with children.

Firstly, this house was absolutely perfect!! We comfortably fit 5 people and had plenty of extra space. The house description was accurate, all the amenities were there and worked great. The host was very kind, responded quickly, and showed much hospitality. The house is about a 1 minute walk to the beach and conveniently surrounded by restaurants and stores in short walking distances. The house comes with a beautiful outdoor seating area and has lots of games and books for the guests. Just in general the house has a very cute aesthetic. One downside however, which is completely out of the host’s control, is that there were a few roaches in the outdoor space, but from what we’ve heard that’s an issue in the general area not just this house. All in all, would highly recommend this house and we would love to stay here again!!

It was asolutely beautiful here! after booking, we were so excited to hear they installed extras on the property and we got to enjoy a fire pit as well as the jacuzzi. easy drive to the beach and local stores and shops to entertain everyone. I would definitely come back with my littles next time, there was a lot to accommodate children! the only issue I had was unlocking the door and even though it was 1am, I was able to get someone on the phone to let me inside. wonderful stay!! 10/10

Cheryl is amazing the hostess with the mostest! 😄 We love staying at her sweet cottage and we have done it for over 5 years now! Cheryl is even going extra beyond the call of duty thus year and shipping my package that I accidently sent to her beach house instead of my house! 🙈 (had something delivered during vacay and forgot to change it 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️) Our vacation each year at Cheryl's beach cottage is perfect and peaceful, highly recommend to everyone! Just don't take my dates 😜

Great experience in this older cottage which has been restored enough to be modern without losing the historic charm. We loved having a fenced yard for the dogs and a private driveway. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything you might need. The house was in a great location to make anything drivable within 10-15 minutes. The hosts were kind, proactive, and very responsive. I would absolutely come back here again!

We had a great week at Jill’s place! We brought our two pups with us and they enjoyed the fenced in yard. We liked the convenient location and short walk to the beach. The place had everything we needed. When we had a problem, Jill was quick to respond and addressed the issues immediately which was great. Made our stay so much better! The only thing I’ll note for future renters is to keep in mind that you’re on the bottom floor with other renters above, which means their footsteps can be very noisy at times. We had our infant with us who goes to bed early and naps during the day, so we were very aware of the extra noise. But other than that, it’s a great spot and we would love to have Jill as a host again!

Hilda was very helpful and responsive. Her home was perfect for our family vacation, we loved sitting on the porch and enjoying the views. The beach access is a short walk across the street. The home was very comfortable to stay in, a nice quiet neighborhood. Restaurants and grocery stores are only about 10 minutes away. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Hilda!

We loved everything about this house! Perfect location, great and VERY responsive host, clean! We had an issue where we couldn’t find something (our fault) and they brought us a replacement. The views are amazing! Everything was in the house from linens, to bikes, the deck was great! I can’t say anything bad at all! We will definitely visit again!

What a charming little cottage in the historical section of Beaufort! It was perfect for our needs as my daughter was fishing in the Big Rock Tournament, and I tagged along to enjoy Beaufort while she was out on the boat. We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed being able to walk to dinner and to the waterfront. Thank you for sharing your home!

Diane was a wonderful host and her place is adorable! You get vintage beach cottage feel with modern upgrades and amenities. Clean, well-appointed, charming, conveniently located to the beach (2.5 blocks) shops, restaurants, nightlife, and just across the bridge from the Big Rock fishing tournament. The Atlantic Beach sand is the best we've ever experienced and the surf was gentle on several days. We saw dolphins and all mannwr of birds, fish, and other wildlife. The area has a calm laid back vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks in her sweet beach home! Make sure to grab a scallop burger "all the way" at Big Oak Drive in while you're there!

The cottage is downright adorable, perfect for a getaway! Host is incredibly helpful and friendly.

Great location for a slow, beach getaway with my family. We especially enjoyed the lovely, breezy porch and the beautiful, wooded location. Walking to the beach and to the ferry was easy. We appreciated all the extra amenities: beach chairs, puzzles and kitchen equipment. We would probably pack more water for drinking next time, but the little store had everything we needed. The drive onto the island, while truly stunning in many places, reminded us that our country is deeply divided and it will be a relief when the election is over.

We had a great stay!! Perfect for our little fishing getaway. Didn’t find the huge redfish, but maybe next time. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Everything about this Airbnb was amazing! We wanted to stay close to family and this was the perfect location. Very close to the harbor! Which made boating very easy. Everything was very clean inside. Amanda was a great host and we would definitely stay there again!

I truly can’t say enough about Rhonda’s place! My family and I were looking for a place to completely relax and unplug and her place was the best for just that! We had so much fun relaxing on the beach, fishing, crabbing and watching the sunsets just to name a few. The house was beautiful and private with beautiful surroundings. Rhonda was also a wonderful host and made our stay extra special by leaving a few treats for us and our girls along with making sure we had everything we needed! We truly had the best trip, and I know we will be back soon!

We had a great week at the beach staying at Sue’s house! The house was the perfect size for our family of four. It was just a short walk to a public beach access. We also enjoyed kayaking in the creeks behind the house, watching the beautiful sunsets on the back deck, and grilling and eating in the awesome area under the house. Sue was very responsive whenever we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again.

This was our family of three's third stay at Soundmohr and we loved it as always! We love having our own space instead of a noisy condo, and you can't beat the view of the sound with the private pier. Trent has always been friendly and accommodating and is very responsive to any concerns. Wish we could have started longer!

very nice get away from your everyday life, especially when visiting from the city. only about 15 minutes away from the beach. The place looks exactly like the pictures. Extremely beautiful and peaceful my family really enjoyed their visit.
