The Loft has one bedroom upstairs along with a great workspace with excellent WIFI, full size bathroom and closet and a small kitchenette including microwave, fridge, air fryer and Keurig. Room darkening curtains, AC, TV w/Roku, full bath/shower unit, pullout sofa and queen size bed all in a very large and open floor plan! The first floor is set up as a gym/workout room. Built originally in the late 1800's and renovated by us in 1991, Yoder School became our home. In later years we converted part of the building into this peaceful getaway. This was an entire family vacation for us. Every one of us loved this home and the location. We were blessed with great weather on our stay and were able to take advantage of tubing on the river. We only left the house once during our week stay. That’s how much we enjoyed it. The home and decor was beautiful. I am very picky on cleanliness and this home met my standards. (Hard to do). I had a few questions over the weeks that lead up to our stay and Jesse was always quick with a response. Thank you for everything!

Escape To Turning Back Log Cabin

We had stayed at the cabin for the first time several months earlier in early Dec '24 during a cold snap. This time (May, 2025) we were camping for several nights in nearby (15-20 mins away) New Germany State Park. The forecast for our last night camping was for rain ... lasting through our final morning. No one wants to pack up a wet tent before going home so we decided to skip our last night at the campground, pack up the tent while it was dry during the day before, and look into finding a place to stay for our last night. The cabin was available so we reserved it for one night and Nancy allowed us some extra time in the morning to enjoy the cabin and grounds. The cabin was just as it was on our first visit (minus the December snow!) with a home-like feel. Nancy was very accommodating for our spur-of-the-moment booking.

Jeff is a great host with a gorgeous plot of land. He ensured we had everything we needed, from heated blanket, lint roller, umbrella, a cooler behind the abode, to even bringing us down covered mugs for our soup. He thinks of everything you could possibly need, there is even a heater in the bathroom. Jeff is diligent and friendly, he gave clear and easy instructions, and even provides a closer sawdust bathroom if you don't want to walk all the way up to the main bathroom. There was coffee in the morning which he was kind enough to refill without our asking, and gave us a run down of the pretty trails! The Toad Abode is beautiful, has plenty of power outlets and lanterns to use. Be sure to look out the Abode down the hill in the morning to catch some views of cows on the hill! There are plenty of things to do near the area, like Jeff, we also recommend seeing Falling Water. A great host and a lovely place, we will definitely recommend the Toad Abode to our friends!

This was our second time staying at Wanda’s place. It is the perfect place to get away and just relax.We spent time in the hot tub,grilled and spent many hours enjoying a campfire .My husband and I cannot wait to return for another week.We highly recommend.
