Our modern home is 15 minutes drive from Taupo but still feels like a secret hideaway. It is quiet and private with majestic views of Lake Taupo and Mount Ruapehu - the sunsets are stunning. Lochwood is a light, spacious and warm retreat. Scandi, homely decor. A home-away-from home with a well-equipped kitchen, espresso machine, and tea and coffee facilities. A reserve and playground are across the road with a tennis court and basketball hoop 2 minutes walk away. The Motuoapa Marina and Liquorice cafe are nearby. Excellent access to Lake Taupo, Tongariro crossing, Whakapapa skifield, Tongariro River track and bike tracks, the western bays, thermal pools and Lake Rotopounamu.

A beautiful new spacious modern home in Motuoapa on lake Taupo, only 30 minutes from Taupo and 45 minutes from Whakapapa ski field. Great location to enjoy the lake for water skiing or fishing. The new marina /boat ramp is just 500m away. Enjoy the world famous trout fishing on the Tongariro river less than 10 minutes down the road. A/C upstairs and downstairs for summer cooling or winter heat. The amazing Tongariro Crossing track starting point at Mangatepopo is just 45 minutes away.

"The End of the Road"

The bach is well equipped, but GUESTS MUST SUPPLY OWN LINEN (sheets, pillow slips & towels), and CLEAN it before leaving. It is a fisherman's bach at the end of a quiet street. Lake Taupo is a 10 minute walk and the Tauranga Taupo River nearby. We have plenty of duvets and blankets. NO WIFI. If you are unable to clean the house before you leave or supply your own linen it's better if you find a motel or hotel nearby. We keep the price lower by not having a cleaning fee.

Our home is a great central base for the many activites the wider area has to offer including skiing, mountain biking, walking tracks and water sports on Lake Taupo. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with 3 playgrounds, a tennis court and basketball court in the area, walking distance to the lake, we would love to have you stay, relax and enjoy magical Motuoapa.

Private spacious bedroom with patio and connecting private spa. Totally independent accommodation with no shared spaces. Great location for accessing Lake Taupo (5 minutes) walk including great marina and cafe. Turangi (10 minutes drive), World famous trout fishing in the Tongariro River. Ski fields, tramping and Tongariro Crossing are only 45 minutes away. Taupo is just over half an hour away to the North. Accommodation is situated at the end of a quiet cul de sac.

This was an absolutely beautiful home right on the river. The layout was unique and designed to capture all of the natural beauty. I will say that if you stay in winter, there is a learning curve to keeping warm. But once you get over the hump, you really couldn’t ask for a nicer place.

Couldn’t have been happier staying at Shona’s place It is a lovely little bach attached to the house and was perfect for our fishing trip. Very well equipped, cute place, neat and tidy - Shona even left out milk, coffee, toffees and chocolate. Shona was very proactive (without being overbearing) and responsive - even offered up their smoker for our fish I’d recommend this place for anyone travelling to the area and we will definitely be back.
