Harul is an untouched place offering its serenity and calmness to its guests. This place is 40 kms away from Chakrata but man o man what amazing drive and view you get on the way to this homestay. The place is very peaceful and is right fit for you if you are looking for something earthy and soothing. The hosts Neelam, Rahul and their two pawsome pups Moscow and Mia are everything you want in such experiences i.e., friendly and interactive. They made us feel right at home. Neelam makes sure all the guests are very comfortable right from the time they set foot in the property and makes sure everyone eats on time and personally accompanies them on evening treks. Speaking of food, since the place is secluded with not much of food placed around, the food offered at the property is super tasty and feels like you are eating ghar ka khana and at a very nominal price. All in all this place is full of warmth because of the hosts and I can visit them again because it felt like home.

This homestay is amazing! The room had everything we needed and an incredible view as well. We sat on the balcony and watched the river go by. There is also a place very near where you can bathe in the Ganga. It was a deeply relaxing experience. But what makes this home stay shine is Shiv and his family. We immediately felt at home. Shiv’s wife and daughter are wonderful cooks. We loved every meal. Shiv’s son took us around Uttarkashi Introducing us to the many beautiful temples within the town. It was magical. Shiv helped us organize taxi’s and anything else we needed. Truly a gem!!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Apple Farm Stay and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The scenic views were absolutely breathtaking offering a serene and picturesque backdrop perfect for a peaceful getaway. The fresh mountain air and stunning vistas made every moment magical. One of the highlights of my stay was the traditional food especially the siddu which was simply delicious. The flavours were authentic and comforting making each meal a delightful experience. Each dish was prepared with love and care also dining outdoors surrounded by the beauty of nature added to the charm. The hosts Bashita and Perry truly went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. They treated me like family from the moment I arrived, ensuring I felt welcomed and comfortable. Their hospitality was exceptional and they were always ready to assist with anything I needed. Their genuine warmth and kindness created an atmosphere of comfort and belonging making my stay truly special.

Ashish and his family were great hosts. We felt like we were at our second home away from home as we were offered homely and delicious food. Ashish's place is calm & serene with beautiful views of Ganges from the common area. We spent our most of the time in this common area. Would love to visit again. Thanks Ashish & family.

Our stay at Dopaar by the Brook was wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene setting and warm hospitality. The location is a perfect blend of tranquility and natural beauty, ideal for families, friends, or solo travelers escaping city life. The room was clean and spacious, with wooden ceilings and walls adding charm. The cozy atmosphere, beautiful dining spaces, and delicious food made our stay delightful. The brook added a soothing soundtrack, and the outdoor seating areas were perfect for relaxing. Special thanks to our host Nikhil, who was incredibly responsive. He promptly arranged an affordable vehicle for us from Dehradun to Chakrata. Kudos to Niresh for picking us up, showing us around, and sharing fascinating stories about the places we visited. I highly recommend this hidden gem for a peaceful and safe retreat. A request to all tourists: Please be responsible and do not litter with plastic waste. Respect nature and the local community.

Okay, so Gomukh Hotel in Uttarkashi? Pretty solid choice! The room was spacious and had all the basics—kitchenette, electric kettle, and hot water (thank goodness, because winter here is no joke). Only thing? It felt a tad dusty, like it hadn’t seen guests in a while. Nothing major, but a little sprucing up would’ve been nice. Location-wise, couldn’t ask for better—super close to the ghat and the bus/taxi stand. No long walks, no stress. Now, let me tell you about Akash, the co-host. Not only did he help us lug our bags up two flights of stairs (yep, no lift—pack light, folks!), but he also moved us to a quieter room when we mentioned some construction noise. His kindness made the stay so much better. Small hiccups aside, it’s a great spot for the price, and Akash’s hospitality is next level. Would we stay again? Absolutely! 😊

Staying with Ajay and his family was the best part of our Himachal trip! A lovely wooden cottage facing the mountains with the Baspa flowing below - the location was fantastic. Aunty and Uncle have built a beautiful house and Ajay works very, very hard to maintain it. The family is very warm and eager to help. The home made food is really a treat! Ajay is an exceptional cook. If you are looking for a peaceful tryst with nature, this is the place for you.
