Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Monmouthshire

The location is beautiful and the house has great charm. The views are wonderful and the cottage is warm and cosy with a great wood burning stove. You can only access with a 4 wheel drive vehicle or walk 300 metres from the parking place up a rugged mountain path. This is difficult with luggage and after dark requires a good torch. The living space is lovely. The bedrooms are open planned and you have to walk through one to access the stairs down to the bathroom. The other bedroom is accessed by a steep set of steps from the kitchen. Head room is limited and there are no window curtains. It is what it says a mountain retreat and wonderful for walking and for families. A bit more difficult for older couples. The hosts were very responsive to any queries

Lovely stay in a beautiful location. Wharfingers Cottage is a delightful house with an amazing history. The surrounding countryside is stunning. Sarah was a great host and couldn’t have been more hospitable.

Thank you for a lovely stay! I couldn’t get over how peaceful and tranquil it was plus the weather held up nicely to enjoy the lovely outdoor space. Amanda provided in depth instructions for us & a book was provided with recommendations & local activities. I forgot to pack some things but I didn’t need to worry as Amanda had everything you could think of, including sunscreen which we didn’t think we needed living in south wales! Definitely recommend this place if want to get away from the world :)

A little piece of heaven. Just perfect for a few days of R&R. Although, the amount of walking we did there wasn’t much rest. The views from the balcony are something else, we somehow managed to lose 3 hrs sat there on our first afternoon. The location is perfect for getting on to the A40 and to further afield. We did not take advantage of the pool or saunas (which, now home feels like it was a wasted opportunity). The pool area is beautiful, and can see in the depths of summer being a real treat. From the booking Ruth was so helpful in giving us recommendations for where to visit and eat. Take the advice when it comes to The Angel Bakery in Abergavenny! It is out of this world. We throughly enjoyed our stay at the pavilion and hope to visit again.

We loved our stay in Oak Cottage. It was so relaxing and in a beautiful area. Megan was so kind, friendly and helpful.

We stayed at Lyndon’s beautiful cottage for the weekend, which had fantastic access to the ICC Wales, where myself and my friend were competing (ATHX). The perfect spot to relax - we loved the bbq and the added little touches! Thank you!

Beautiful place for a much needed escape and relaxing getaway. The hosts were great and only a message away. The container was spotless, fully equipped and the view was incredible. Will definitely be returning x

A lovely flat with 2 good bathrooms and a sizeable kitchen. Great for a short stay in an excellent location an easy walk from Clifton Village.

Lovely place to stay, a 10 minutes drive down a small lane and you're surrounded by fields, beautiful sunrises. Very peaceful, never heard cars at night and rarely in the day. Cozy writing desk to get some work done. Philippa brought homemade cake and some good, such a nice gesture, makes you feel very welcome.

Completely self contained flat with lots of character. Well away from any road noise and beautiful view. Well appointed facilities - lots of power points and fast wifi. Thoughtful provisions to greet us. Only drawback (not the fault of our host) was poor phone signal in the flat, but slightly better in the car park. A happy stay.

Spent two nights at Camp Hillcrest, ideal stopping point for the Offas Dyke Path... accommodation was just what we wanted after long walking days.

What an amazing find! Ali was exceptional; from the original booking to the arrival and beyond, she was fantastic! All the extra touches, such as homemade cake, eggs (fresh from the chickens!) and beer (to name but a few), plus the kind use of the tandem and fire pit, all made us feel so welcome and trusted. We will definitely return!!

Georgie’s cabin is wonderful if you are looking for peace and quiet, rest and relaxation. It was just as described. It’s totally secluded and private but Georgie is just next door if needed. The fresh eggs from the hens was a lovely touch. The veranda and the views were incredible. Spent hours just gazing into the distance. We’d love to come back in a different season and get to enjoy the log burner. Wonderful place to spend a weekend. Thank you.

The hut was beautiful and the hot tub a thankful addition. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The use of space in the hut is quirky and well furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed including some small essentials. The bed was really comfy and the bedding was lovely and fresh. The bathroom was really super clean and had towels and loo roll. The immediate surroundings were beautiful. I loved sitting on the decking with swans walking past and a gorgeous Goose family on the lake. Or chilling in the hot tub while the man fished. Plenty of pubs and restaurants around or Dominos Deliver! Very relaxing break.

Me and my girlfriend loved our stay in daisy lodge. Such a lovely place to stay feeling right at home. Not far from Abergavenny town which has a lovely high street. The lodge was as seen in the photos and even though we knew Claire and Justin were there when we needed, it was perfect and didn’t need any help. Highly recommend. Thanks guys!

What a beautiful loction we had 2 fabulous nights here from the get go it was everything & more! We stayed for the weekend and had a very enjoyable time. The cabin was very cosy and the views were beautiful. We loved trying out the log burner too. The hosts Chris and Karen were helpful and responded to our questions. We’ll definitely love to come back and stay again in the future.

Beautiful views, fantastic hot tub. Well equipped kitchen. Everything as described in listing. Lovely big comfortable bed. Very short drive to Hay On Wye which has plenty of coffee shops and restaurants, and a well stocked coop with anything you might need. We recommend this lodge 100%. We will be returning. Had a fabulous stay, thank you.
