Spacious Guesthouse with Creative Style and Local Charm

The house is adjacent to our home. It sits quietly in the back yard and above our painting studio. It's an open, airy and modern loft-style home with reclaimed fir floors, shelving, vanity, and doors. The reclaimed Doug Fir wood was sourced locally and has the beautiful patina of time. The queen size bed has a super comfy natural latex foam mattress and in the loft there is a fold out sofa with a full size memory foam sleeping pad (Please note that the loft is not an appropriate sleeping area for younger children due to the stairs and railing). The loft also boasts wonderful views looking out over the neighborhood and is a wonderful spot to chill out with a book or watch a movie. The art collection includes works created by the two of us (we are painters/photographers) and by other local artists. You are also welcome to come visit the art studio downstairs. The kitchen is fully loaded with brand new appliances and cookware and each guest is treated with coffee, creamer, chocolate, fruit and flowers for their stay. We are within walking and biking distance to Williams Ave, Mississippi Ave, Fremont Ave and Alberta Street, and approximately a 15 minute bike ride to downtown Portland. Some of Portland's tastiest restaurants are close by including Pok Pok Noi, Ned Ludd, Tasty and Sons, Por Que' No, Aviary, and the list goes on. Acclaimed brewpubs are also abundant including Hopworks, Fifth Quadrant, Stormbreaker, Ecliptic, and Ex Novo. There are several bus stops within blocks of our place and New Seasons and Whole Foods are both an easy ten minute walk from our house so self catering is a breeze. We have two friendly cats and a Hummingbird who has taken up residency in our backyard garden which you are welcome to hang out in as well. Guests have full access to the house and the backyard. Guests are also encouraged to visit the painting studio when Michael is there. The home is not available for commercial use, wedding activities including pre wedding meet ups/parties getting ready for weddings and anything involving multiple visitors to the property. Events, parties, business meetings, etc. are also prohibited per Airbnb rules. Please note *** This not an anonymous vacation rental experience. It is not a hotel. The house is in our backyard and you will encounter us from time to time as we go about our daily lives which is part of what makes Airbnb so special. Our home is your home! We are avid travelers as well and love to hear about your adventures here in Portland/Oregon. Check in time is 3 pm and check out time is 11 am, but we try to be as flexible with guests if they need to arrive or leave earlier or later. One of us will always be there to make sure your stay is comfortable, but we do our best to give guests the privacy and space they need. We have lived in Portland for a combined 35 years so we are full of recommendations for places to eat, activities, bike rides and must sees. We are always available by phone/text to answer any questions or help out if needed. The neighborhood was first settled in 1872 by Volga Germans and in 1891 was incorporated into Portland. Today, it's a thriving multi-cultural, socially conscious community. One of the best farmers' markets in town is only a few blocks away. We are within walking and biking distance to Williams Ave, Mississippi Ave, Fremont Ave and Alberta Street, and approximately a 15 minute bike ride to downtown Portland. There are several bus stops close by and parking is always available on the street in front of our house. A great bike rental shop is within walking distance as well. We are family/kid friendly. We have a 5 year old daughter ourselves. There are two parks within blocks of our place to take the little ones. A library is close by. There are also several businesses that cater to kids and families such as the POA Cafe, OMSI(Oregon Museum of Science and Industry), the Oregon Zoo, and The Children's Museum. Maximum # of guests= 3 adults. Or 2 adults and 1-2 children. The sleeping loft is not suitable for smaller children due to the stairs leading down to the main floor and the bed's proximity to the railing. We do have a pack and play and can set up a bed in the living room for smaller children who cannot sleep in the loft.

My wife, Raechel, and I originally designed and built this ADU ( accessory dwelling unit ) with the intention of living there full time, but due to a change of plans, it's available to you. The space was designed by Buckenmeyer Architecture, and was constructed by me. Our space features many unique elements such as: paper-composite counter tops and bathroom tiles, real copper backsplash and bathroom walls, polished concrete floors, cedar tongue and groove ceiling, burnt cedar siding, 16' multi-slide window wall (please open and close slowly), moveable cedar slat screens, custom frosted glass pocket doors, and custom apple-ply kitchen cabinets by George Ramos We love to cook and put great effort into getting the kitchen space dialed in. The kitchen features: bosch speed oven (microwave and convection oven), bosch dishwasher, 2 burner gas range, and Pull-out exhaust and lighting We hope you enjoy the space and neighborhood as much as we do! The guesthouse has it's own separate entrance with a smart lock for convenient self check in. You'll receive the unique code prior to check in. We live in the main house and are available to help make your stay as great as possible. We value your privacy and will not stop by unless contacted. Please text for the quickest response. Nearby Division Steet is known as restaurant row and features some of the best food in Portland, including Pok Pok, Salt and Straw, and Ava Genes. On a warm summer night, there will be hundreds of people just going for a stroll up and down Division. Our guesthouse is a 2 minute walk from a major bus stop, and a Biketown stall where you can rent a bike by the trip. There is no dedicated parking space but there is an abundant amount of non-metered unlimited on-street parking directly in front of our guest house on 28th pl. The Roku Tv enables you to login to your entertainment provider of choice, please remember to logout. The Bose Soundbar is wired to output the TV's audio, but can also be connected to via bluetooth by hitting the bluetooth icon on the Bose remote and pairing with your device. We provide locally roasted coffee beans, a manual conical burr grinder, insulated french press, stovetop kettle, and creamer + sugar. Please enjoy the in-shell Hazelnuts!

Private Minimalist Architecture Guesthouse Loft

Step through double French doors into a modern guesthouse. Inspired by contemporary design and filled with light. The home features an open-to-above foyer, a mezzanine bedroom, exposed beams, wood finishes, polished concrete heated floors, and access to a shared backyard. Location, location, location. This is a tastefully constructed guesthouse in the heart of the Kearns/Buckman neighborhood in NE Portland. There is a fully equipped designer kitchen with all the amenities you may need: microwave, coffee maker, toaster, Bertazzoni gas range, Bosch refrigerator & dishwasher. The large living/dining room is spacious & bright. It has a radiant heated concrete floor and custom made furniture. There is a 47 inch Ultra HD smart TV with Comcast Cable and an American Leather queen size sofa sleeper with gel mattress for your use. The bedroom/loft has vaulted ceilings, a queen size, hand crafted, locally made Parklane bed with Italian bedding and a 40 inch smart TV. The bathroom has a heated tile floor, a beautiful glass encased tile shower, luxury towels, Turkish bathrobes and local Dani bath products. The guesthouse is approximately 600 square feet, has two Mitsubishi heat/AC units along with heated floors. Heat and air conditioning are not a problem here! There is a large capacity washer and dryer. The backyard and barbeque is shared with us, the owners. This is a private rental, and we respect our guests right to privacy. Should you need anything during your stay we are a text or email away. We live in the house adjacent to the guesthouse so you’ll probably see us. The guesthouse is NO SMOKING and NO PETS. There is only on street parking. We reserve the right to the driveway. If you have any questions, we’re happy to help you. Guests will access through the iron gate to the end of the driveway. Guests will have full access to the guesthouse and backyard. Guests will get two keys, one for the gate and one for the guesthouse. The entire guesthouse and backyard. The property is located in NE Portland, boasting close access to restaurants, bars, grocery stores, coffee shops, public transit, and much more. The bus stop is just two blocks away from the guesthouse.

Peaceful Loft - Close to shops, Train & Downtown

Our peaceful detached apartment is located in Irvington, a beautiful historical neighborhood 7 minutes from downtown. You would not need a car as you can walk to the MAX train station. We furnished our space with a comfortable brand new king size bed and full size sleeper sofa. Bedding & duvet cover washed every time. The decoration is tropical inspired art and from Hawaii. There is a cute and equipped kitchenette with coffee maker, tea make, microwave, dishwasher electric range for small meals.

Lovely remodeled separate basement suite in a 1905 house! 1 bd (queen), 1 ba, living room (full sofa sleeper), and kitchette/laundry. Stays naturally cool below 72 F all summer. Walk score 87, public transit 71, and biking 98! Walk to the OR Convention Center and Moda Center (20 min). Great fit for those out and about during the day, but want quiet at night. Squeaky clean, but no cleaning fee and no check out chores! This listing supports a public teacher.
