Set back from the town of Gualala, nestled among 10 private acres of coastal redwoods. Private deck faces the ocean, ideal for sunrise or sunset while sipping your favorite beverage in the hot tub, or stargazing free from lights. Located on the ridge above Highway 1, Redwood Retreat faces the Southern sky & is often sunny, warm, and wind-free compared to surrounding areas.

Cozy Redwood Cottage Near the Mendocino Coast

Our peaceful cottage is nestled among the redwoods, a few miles inland from the Mendocino Coast. High ceilings and skylights make this space feel spacious, offering natural light, and views of the majestic trees. The surrounding community is special, with many residents having lived here for decades, tending their homesteads. On your way in, you are likely to see cattle, horses, pigs, and chickens. Deer, coyote, foxes, mountain lions, owls, hawks, vultures, and bears also frequent the area.

Tiny Cabin in the Redwoods

This tiny cabin is surrounded by trees, trees and more trees! Soak in the claw foot tub while gazing out at a redwood forest. The bottom floor of the cabin has a small sleeper sofa, mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker (not a full kitchen). The bed is in a loft space on the second floor up a steep ladder and there is efficient heating. The fire pit can be used in low fire season only. *please note we also have a glamping space in near proximity. Dog on property, please be pet friendly.

The cabin and home where the host lives is on a private road, with pond, fruit orchard, and 1/4 mile walking trail to the seasonal fantastic 100 foot waterfall lookout.
