The surroundings are a beautiful nature reserve with numerous hiking trails. In winter, there are plenty of ski slopes in the area. Winterberg and Willingen are 15 to 20 km away. Nearby are three lakes including the large lake "Edersee" where there are all kinds of water sports activities.
