The apartment is in the small district of Karsau, which belongs to Rheinfelden (Baden). In an almost 200-year-old farmhouse overlooking our farm animals (horses/sheep/cat/dog/chickens) you can relax wonderfully. Basel can be reached in 20 minutes by car/train. Beuggen train station is within walking distance (1.5 km). Right next door is a children's playground and the forest with beautiful walking and cycling trails is a few minutes' walk away. From the cozy rocking chair for reading and relaxing to the children's play corner, it has it all. The border triangle (Germany/France/Switzerland) is a special place and the apartment has a perfect connection to local and long-distance transport. By train, you can reach the heart of Basel in 15 minutes.

Alte Färberei Entire place

The old dyeing plant, a factory from the 19th century, was expanded for mixed use. In addition to apartments, workshops and medical practices, guest rooms were built under the shed roofs of the factory halls. It was important to us to give the old building fabric a new use and make it tangible. We were able to completely preserve the building envelope and reuse renewed components in other contexts. New components were left in their natural state.

Our Black Forest house with a south-facing location offers up to three guests a cozy stay. The border triangle allows a variety of cultural and sporting leisure activities. I have traveled a lot myself, speak good German, English, French, Spanish and a little Italian and am always very happy about guests from near and far.

After decades of neglect, it has been given a new shine piece by piece in recent years with loving attention to detail.
