Mojito Island Cottage

Update: In September 2022 we were affected by Hurricane Ian. We had just over 5 feet of flooding in our treasured cottage. We have worked tirelessly to put everything back together. All new tile, walls, electric, lighting, furniture, and we even improved the bathroom! Spacious tropical home with water view from our back yard lanai. Boat Dock with Cleaning Fish Station, BBQ beautiful sunsets with fish jumping in our canal. New large kitchen and one block from art galleries, restaurants and bars.

What a wonderful place to stay. Fell in love with Matlache and surrounding islands. Much more beautiful and peaceful than Cape Coral or Fort Myers. The place was immaculate at check-in and was very well equipped. You name it, this house had it. Dock was great and easily accepted my 22’ boat with plenty of room to spare. Very wide canal, easy to turn a boat around. Caught lots of fish right off the dock although they were mostly Catfish. Swimspa was a plus and refreshing after a day of boating/fishing. I have been renting in FL for close to 20 years and this was by far the nicest. Can’t say enough about the view. We couldn’t use the “crows nest” as it was occupied by a huge nest and a mating pair of Osprey. Not a problem as they more than made up for it by providing continuous entertainment. Made a few videos of their antics. We all loved them. Bernd/manager were very responsive. Only had one issue with smoke alarms. Batteries changed within hours, no more problems.

I can not say enough nice things about Valari and her beautiful home. She was so helpful and accommodating, she reached out with recommendations and checked in to see if we needed anything. Her home was beautiful and so clean, and morning coffee overlooking the private pool and canal was so peaceful. We will definitely be looking to return.

This is the second time that we have stayed at this Airbnb and we are ready to come back. I cannot say enough good things about how neat, clean, well appointed, and totally filled with anything we might need this home is. Thomas and Ali were immediately responsive to any questions we might have and always very polite and friendly. They genuinely seemed concerned. with our satisfaction with their home. Although the Matlacha community has received some weather related destruction, we enjoy the area so much that we keep returning This location on the water with the beautiful sunsets and away from the highway Traffic is perfect for a relaxing stay. The proximity to Fort Myers and Cape Coral with many activities available in addition to the outdoor and water activities right there in Matlacha will give anyone who enjoys these things a wonderful vacation. We highly recommend this home and thank Thomas and Ali for their hospitality.

Kimberly and Kevin’s place was easily the cleanest and one of the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. Spotless from top to bottom. The location was perfect, close to everything but still quiet and relaxing. The house was super updated, comfy, and had everything we needed. Kimberly and Kevin were awesome and easy to communicate with. Would 100% stay here again and recommend to anyone!

The perfect house for our relaxing vaca! The pool was our favorite part… the sun deck it has was perfect for our little one! Mike was very friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. Great little gem! Clean, open floorplan with a peaceful patio overlooking the water. Though close to the main road, we heard NO road noise. Samantha was a great host. Highly recommend this place.
