Holiday houses in Matalom

This place is close to everything. Walkable to market, church, laundry, bus terminal, ferry port. It’s a great place to stay. The caretaker offer us if we want the malunggay or horseradish in English and kalamsi (smallest like family of lime) don’t know in English we can pick if we want. We enjoyed our stay because all the native foods like Bingka, suman and lanka(Jackfruit) and also papaya are fresh in the market. Maybe i will be back in my next vaccay

The host is very accommodating, and the place is clean. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking. If you’re looking for a quiet place to relax, this is a great option. The house is a bit old but has its own charm.

Marites was an amazing, helpful host, very friendly and likeable. The caretakers that live next door will prepare local Filipino food in the evenings if you wish and it is amazing. The house is located in a beautiful location, a bit of a hike, but worth it for the where it is. .Locals are very friendly, I have made some really good friends and will be visiting them again, hopefully with a better grasp of Cebuano though. The property is very clean and comfortable, with a variety of cooking appliances including gas which is handy during the occasional power outages. There is the handy use of a Honda scooter, which I loved seeing the sites on and you can get to Baybay City in around 10 minutes at a leisurely speed, but be aware if you haven't driven in an Asian country BE CAREFUL, traffic regulations are totally different.

Beautiful place! Would be interested to come again. The place is peaceful and pretty. They also are in an area where the phone data is really fast (because it differs a lot in different parts of the island) so even if the wifi is limited we can still use data.

The place is quiet, relaxing and peaceful. You are away from the hustle and buzzle of city life and it feels like your home. The balcony is a very good place to view the surroundings and have chat chat with your group and you can cook food. Water supply so abundant. Amenities are sufficient for the guests. My recommendation is to add a bbq pit where guests can have bbq and grill seafood.

We didn’t expect to find such a gem in Southern Leyte, and we’re so glad we did. The house was spotless, cozy, and clearly cared for with love—it truly felt like home. Even though the host was abroad, Ariel was quick to respond, and the caretakers were warm, helpful, and respectful of our space. Everything was in great condition, and we appreciated the peace of mind that came with that. Best of all, the internet was fast and stable—rare for the area—and allowed both my wife and me to work remotely without any issues. Though our barangay is a few kilometers away, this place was absolutely worth it. The peaceful, safe environment made it easy to relax and recharge. We’re definitely staying here again next time. It’s fully equipped with everything you need from a complete kitchen to cozy, air-conditioned rooms. Ma'am Crisnafe is such an accommodating and friendly host, making sure we felt right at home. I highly recommend this place, especially for families or groups of friends looking for a comfortable and scenic stay.
