Our stay at Mallard at Church Lake was fantastic! The A-frame design is stunning with beautiful decor throughout. The kitchen setup was perfect, and we loved using the outdoor grill for lakeside meals. As birding enthusiasts, we added many new species to our Life List and learned fascinating details about mallard duck behavior and life cycles. The location is a nature lover's dream. What really set this property apart were the excellent accessibility features (wheelchair ramp, no-threshold shower, seamless floor transitions, etc., which accommodated our disabilities. The hosts were communicative before and during our stay, making everything seamless. We enjoyed canoeing and paddleboarding during the day and incredible stargazing at night under clear skies. This property offers the perfect blend of comfort, accessibility, and natural beauty. We'd absolutely stay again and highly recommend it to other travellers, especially those needing accessible accommodations!

What a unique stay! Whitney clearly put a lot of thought into all the little touches. Loved all the fresh flowers around. I didn't have a chance to take the kayak out on the water, given that I only stayed one night and there was some rain. Next time perhaps! When I took my dog out for a walk, there was a scary moment when we interacted with the neighbor's dogs, but she's okay. Just something to keep in mind if you are traveling with a pup. Also, remember that there's no hot water, unless you want to heat some up on the stove.

The Hull House: modern beauty on quiet ocean cove

Our vacation at Hull House was amazing! Surpassed our expectations: a fantastic view, very private, and wildlife was in abundance including ducks, geese, deer and an occasional seal. Location was perfect and accessible to so many beautiful areas of Nova Scotia. We enjoyed the kayaking daily right off the dock, as well as cycling the Dynamite Trail from the front door. Amazing and responsive host, the home was well equipped and so very clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend the Hull House!!!

Absolutely loved staying at Shannon’s place! It was in such a great spot, just about 10 minutes away from a few scenic small towns. The place was cozy, accessible, and very peaceful! Shannon was very responsive and helpful with anything we needed — would definitely stay here again on our next trip back to Nova Scotia!!
