Beachfront holiday rental in Marske-by-the-Sea

Loved our stay at the cottage its beautiful inside and tastefully done very clean and plenty of amenities its in a really good location close to everything but tucked away to be peaceful lovely views from the top floor and a nice big shower. Kate was very reponsive and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic place to stay, great location has everything you need and more. The only thing I would say is the main door downstairs to get in is quite tricky the key needs to be wiggled quite a bit to get it to open. A hard turn to the left gets it working once you know how. We loved our stay the home is gorgeous inside and couldn’t recommend staying here enough. We are already looking at dates to book to come back in a few months time

A lovely little cottage in a superb location. Beds were comfy and the children loved the snug. Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as there is not much sound proofing to next door - the occupants had a dog that barked in the night. The actual lane is very quiet tho. We loved the back route to the Abbey from the garden. Charlotte was great at communicating and we loved our stay.

We loved our stay at Shangri-la cottage. It's got a prime location that is absolutely beautiful and with the best parking space in Staithes. Clare is very good at communicating and she accommodated our need of a late check out which was much appreciated. Everything is in walking distance and the beach is outside your front window. Only small critiques are the cleaner needs to pay a little more attention to detail as it was quite dusty in places and the mattresses on the bunks were a little uncomfortable, also soft furnishings could do with updating such as pillows and cushions are a little tired. Needs a few tweeks to update it but overall still worth the money as its the best location you will get. Thank you Clare

Lovely weekend away in Sandsend. A beautiful holiday home just a 2 minute walk to the beach. Nice and private, plenty of parking, would recommend.

We had a lovely stay at The Lute Player. It was in the best location and we used it as a base for lots of adventures with our 2 children. The pictures didn’t really do it justice, it’s even better in real life! Cosy! The house is old and quirky and creaky, it all adds to its charm. The windows are original single glazed sash and it is quite noisy in a morning when the seagulls decide to get up, but after the first night we were used to it and it was much nicer to wake up to than an alarm. And the windows were perfect for people watching on church street. The beds were very comfortable and bedding smelt so nice! Well equipped kitchen. Our girls appreciated the card games available. We have loved our 4 nights here and a new love of Whitby! Jen has been a wonderful host and so informative and responsive to messages. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home! Sarah & Tim

I’ve already messaged Ruth to say we really enjoyed our short stay. For the amount of time we were staying the price was high but it’s a beautiful and clean home to stay in 👍❤️so it was worth the extra. Very clean with great facilities.

Annie's cottage is a fabulous place to stay when visiting Whitby. The location is fantastic, being super close to the beach and on a street so full of history. The cottage's facilities are top notch and really inkeeping with the character of Whitby. we loved it so much that we have rebooked for next year, can't wait

We had a wonderful stay at Joe's cottage.its ideally situated to access the Cleveland Way and within short distances to other parts of the coastline. The cottage is well equipped and really cosy with a fantastic shower ... much needed after long walks. Everyone who lives and works at the harbour are friendly and make you welcome. Joe let us know on route that the cottage was ready which was great as we'd arrived ahead of time. Great holiday cottage, lovely host and beautiful surroundings = pure bliss!

We absolutely loved our New Year break at Curious Crab. The village is idyllic and the cottage was beautiful. We all felt relaxed and at home. Each room felt very special, the kids loved sleeping in the attic and the open fire was the icing on the cake. Rob was a brilliant host. Very responsive and helpful when needed.

When we walked into the cottage, we fell in love with it, especially once we got the fire going. It was so pretty, well equipped. It would have been nice to have some shampoo and conditioner but didn’t affect our stay. The beds were so comfy, especially the bed in the top bedroom. The mattress, duvet and cover made for a very cosy and perfect sleep. Would highly recommend. We hope to be back very soon!

lovely old cottage ideally situated next to the sea, so perfect just to leave the car parked up and walk over to the beach. The cottage itself was very spacious,with a large lounge, two large main bedrooms with one extra bedroom above. The kitchen/ dining area was ample enough and contained all we needed, as were the two separate bathrooms for each of the main bedrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable and there was no skimping on the quality of the bed linen and pillows. We certainly give this lovely old cottage a 100% thumbs up and would totally recommend it to all!

Perfect home from home the location could not have been more perfect central to the old town beach front with harbour views. Watching the boats go out & return each day made this holiday. The property is immaculate with a home from home feel spotless well kept with everything you could wish for in a property. Welcome goodies made us feel welcomed from the start. Will return 😊

Fabulous stay for a family weekend break in a lovely location!

Perfect location and house, felt like home. We all loved it and made the early birthday celebration just fab. Couldn’t ask for better hosts and communication. We will be back for sure!

Our family break at Sunnybank was amazing. What a beautiful house in an beautiful and peaceful location. Fantastic views from all the rooms. Great communication from the hosts. Was thoroughly enjoyed by three generations... Just wish we could have stayed longer! Would definitely love to return to Sunnybank. Just a little word of warning about the steep road up to Sunnybank. It is much easier to initially drive past the sharp right entrance to the drive, turn around and enter with a downhill left turn. Will also need to reverse out of the driveway. Was fine for us, but can always park on the road below if there is space. Also, take extra care when crossing the road, especially with children. Was fairly quiet on our easter visit but I imagine it is much busier in the Summer months. Many thanks to Alex and Ann for letting us stay in your lovely home x

Beautiful house with absolutely stunning views. We stayed here for my mums 60th and was a little concerned after reading some of the previous reviews about the lack of kitchenware etc, this didn’t seem to be a problem for us though and there seemed to be enough for our party of 9 for the duration. The cottage is actually located in the ground of the abbey which was a nice surprise for everyone, felt quite regal driving though the abbeys archway and through the grounds at the front to access the property. Would definitely recommend!!
