Monthly Rentals in Mandrakia

Glaucus House is in a more remote and peaceful location- we wanted quiet and restful with views and this fit the bill. Cleanliness, comfortable beds and nice amenities are important to us so this brand new villa was the perfect choice. We were within a 10 - 20 min drive to everywhere we wanted to go- the most beautiful beaches are very close by. Despina was helpful, responsive and flexible making late night arrival dinner recommendations and suggesting the best beaches, restaurants and activities to do. We loved Klima and the restaurant there! It can be a bit tricky to find the way there with Google maps but the photos and descriptions provided were really helpful. We’ve only been gone from Milos for a few hours and already miss it!

Milos has got to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, and Mandrakia is one of the most charming spots on the island. Christina's house in an incredible place from which to access all of this beauty, with breathtaking views from the terrace, a few feet to snorkeling bays and a beautiful beach. Plus (if you have a car), you're close to numerous other incredible beaches. AND Christina (I think this is the host's name--please forgive my terrible Greek!) is lovely and gives the BEST recommendations of local restaurants and places to see. The house itself if so clean and designed like a ship with doors that let in the breeze but keep out the wind. The one con here is that Mandrakia has been discovered and has become a must-see destination so after noon (when the taverna opens), it is quite crowded with tourists/restaurant-goers (the young trendy kind on four-wheelers, not tour buses!) However, somehow the house (and especially the terrace) still feels private. We loved it!!

Staying at one of these unique boathouses was the highlight of our stay. Easy check-in with clear instructions. We stayed upstairs. The sliding flyscreen enabled us to go to sleep and wake with the doors open, listening to the sound of the waves. The view from the bed was awesome. Lots of boats went by. The sunset was magnificent. The Astakis restaurant nearby had great food and also a great sunset. I would definitely stay again but for longer:)

We absolutely loved our stay at Despina’s place. Voula checked us in and made us feel so welcome. We loved being a 30 second walk to the beach, the coffee stand, or to our favourite restaurant Medusa. The sea breeze at night was so relaxing through the screen door. We had a rental car, so it was easy to go see attractions, but you really do need a car. My only small recommendation would be to consider some classic sheet/duvet combination for bedding, rather than a simple blanket, as it could feel a bit irritating to skin. Regardless, I would 100% return.
