Kia ora Josie and Graeme, It has been a very healing moment this stay here at Baylys Beach. We live at Maketū Beach, where we see the sun rise and set each day so the bach felt right at home! So many special extras, thank you for every little well-thought-out detail! Will definitely return in the Springtime. To learn the connection between the Ramsey and Flavell families is special. We loved the unique venue. Great decor and very well thought out as to what was needed for your stay. The traffic noise is loud from the passing cars but we had expected this due to the other reviews. But a delightful weekend away with great things to do locally.

Beautifully appointed little cottage with lots of open space around it and an expansive deck out the front overlooking a large pond, farmland and mountains in the distance. I woke up to knocking at a manageable 8am, which was confusing until I realised it was coming from the bedroom window. Opened the curtains and there was a heron pecking a stool underneath it. That was a first, but not unwelcome. Close to Dargville and the north head of the Kaipara for folks in the area for business or adventure. Interesting finds to be had in the dunes, apparently!

Great place to stay, very peaceful with amazing views. Comfy beds and good showers. It is very well equipped and also bread and milk and basics were provided. The host was really helpful. All in all a great place to stay.
