Villa holiday rentals in Madeira Island

We absolutely loved our stay in Madeira! The property was incredibly clean—honestly one of the cleanest places we've ever stayed. Everything was spotless and so well maintained. The welcome gifts were such a thoughtful touch—local produce that gave us a warm introduction to the island. The house had everything we needed, from great coffee to handy extras like Tupperware, which made day trips really convenient. The sunsets from the property were absolutely stunning—something we looked forward to every evening. The location was great for accessing shops and restaurants nearby, but we’d definitely recommend having a car to explore more of the island comfortably. All in all, a fantastic stay. We’d return in a heartbeat!

The stunning villa overlooks the east facing mount of Calheta to the sea and has gorgeous sunsets! The place is impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. To have a pool to relax in after a day exploring, watching the sunset is a memory I will revere!

Large house ideal for a family, beautiful kitchen, terrace and sea view. Iva is a welcoming host who takes the time to leave us lots of information to discover this beautiful island. So we were able to discover the dolphins at a preferential and zn price passing through a local agency😊... The accommodation is located in the southwest of the island, in a small quiet fishing village, and where you can easily park your rental car and when you know the parking difficulties on the island, it is not negligible. The rental car is necessary, but the village allows access to the whole island by beautiful roads and we particularly appreciated the calm and sweetness of living when we returned from our sports days, where we met a lot of people. Small supermarket, bakery, restaurants, small typical cafes, so many little extras that made our stay super pleasant. great value for money... we recommend it ++

Sofia and her family were incredibly welcoming throughout our stay. While many hosts simply seek extra income, Sofia is different—she genuinely loves hosting, and we felt this warmth throughout our visit. We had an absolutely fantastic time at Myrtus House. The space was well-equipped with everything we needed. The Honesty Pantry (donation-based) was a thoughtful touch, stocked with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as cooking essentials like pasta, rice, and sauces. This was especially appreciated when we arrived on a late flight after shops had closed and you can’t bring liquids on planes. The next morning, we could simply grab a drink for the road—so convenient! The beds were comfortable and spacious, though the pillows were a bit too soft for our preference. The house is located in a peaceful neighborhood, perfect for a restful stay. They had Disney+ available on the TV, and the internet connection was excellent with great speed and latency.

We had a fantastic time on the island. In addition to the nature that makes Madeira so fascinating, we were also able to spend some very relaxing days in our accommodation. Everything was just like in the pictures, so we could start our vacation with a great feeling. The accommodation was modern, clean and very luxurious with a pool and the number of rooms, each with its own bathroom. And who wouldn't want to wake up with a view of the sea? Wonderful. Henrique was also easy to contact if we had any questions and check-in with the key box was very simple. There is a small supermarket in this small town if you need anything. Otherwise, Calheta is not far away with larger shopping facilities. There are a few restaurants within walking distance of the accommodation, although the accommodation with its large kitchen and outdoor grill is of course also perfect for a meal. Thank you for a wonderful time in Madeira, we'd love to come back!

I absolutely loved staying here. The photos do not do the place justice. It really is a beautiful house. It’s so very quiet there too. I loved being in the garden to do yoga on the platform, surrounded by plants. The hosts added so many little touches that were really appreciated- plenty of soap, herbs in the cupboard, a bottle of wine, books ….. I really did not want to leave. There are not many beautiful, very quiet places to stay. We were only 15 minutes from Funchal!

Our first visit to Madeira and we had a great time. The villa is immaculate, plenty space, very clean and comfortable and equipped with everything you could need. It’s in a great location to explore Funchal and the wider island. There’s quite a hill to climb on the way back up from the town but it was manageable for a group of 65-75 year olds. And if you decide not to walk Bolt taxis are easily available and not expensive. Nuno and Rubina are excellent hosts. Nuno had sent us lots of information before our trip. Very helpful as we were only there for a week so could make some plans in advance. He came to meet us when we arrived to show us where everything was. Any questions were answered quickly with helpful replies. All of the things Nuno suggested that we tried were very good. I would add an evening at Sabor a Fado to his list of places to try. We had a great night there, but it’s a small place so definitely book. I would highly recommend a stay at Nuno and Rubina’s. Excellent!

The property easily lives up to the description and the pictures. The houses are fully equipped, very nicely decorated and comfortable. The swimming pools offer stunning unobstructed views of the ocean during the day and of the sky at night. There are no road noises, the place is truly calm. Grocery stores are a few minutes away by car, as are restaurants. Numerous hikes can be found in the region. The host is very reactive and will provide many recommandations related to restaurants and activities. Renting both houses to two families is a great way to spend time together while also having some privacy. I would go back there without any hesitation.

One of the best I’ve ever stayed at. The place was so spacious and open, yet felt like at home and cozy. Everything we needed was readily available/ easily accessible. The home is perched up in Ponta do Sol, so the view is of the homes below, and then the drop off to the ocean. Private pool was clean and big enough for our family of 7. Private parking is a gamechanger anywhere in Portugal, and you have a whole driveway which fit our enormous van. Lots of good hikes in every direction so you never feel like you’re driving too much, everything is about 40 minutes from this location, even the other side of the island. Host was so great responsive despite the hour difference from where she is located. Thank you so much for our stay we loved it.

Superb 5 days at Grey Rock Villa! A beautiful place to stay, extremely well equipped with amazing views. Very responsive hosts who have thought of everything to enhance your stay. Would highly recommend, we would love to return in the future! Thank you!

Great Villa! Very spacious living, dining and kitchen areas. Kitchen lacking a few items to cook meals in oven but lots of dishes and glassware, even for a big family. Bedrooms are all spacious, have their own washroom, AC, and access to the upper patio. Nice pool area and patio for hanging out and enjoying dinner on. Great view of the city, especially at night. The neighborhoods in Funchal are very cramped and parking is challenging so it’s a blessing this Villa had underground parking. A bit challenging to get in and out of - put your best driver on the task! A little difficult to find given that there are three villas together and the directions to get here aren’t well defined on google maps. Wifi connection does not work upstairs (in bedrooms) at all, only on the main floor. All in all it is a great place for a large group - clean, quiet, spacious, great patio and view of the city! We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Richard!

This is how AirBNB should be. The house is stacked with everything. How often are you in an Airbnb and they only have 6 plates? Here they have 20+, they have Great knives, tons of kitchenware, enough toilet paper, plenty of dishwasher tabs and also cleaner for the washing machine. Things you normally expect but somehow got lost in the making money machine Airbnb is now. Not here!! A absolute crazy welcome basket (have not had such a big one ever), friendly crew and absolute amazing place - can only recommend

We had a very nice stay. Our hosts were very attentive and surprised us with great little things. Our little parking problem in the garage was solved immediately. Great roof terrace with pool view of the sea. Super clean and good beds!

Where to begin with Arbor Villa? I'll start by saying that it surpassed all our expectations and was far and away the best AirBnb stay we have ever experienced. About the home - It is stunning , luxurious, and welcoming with all the comforts of home. The design is impeccable. Emma and the architect/designers thought of everything and there was no detail overlooked. The materials, color palettes, furnishings, art and decoration combined with the beautiful setting in Campanario create an experience that is in harmony with nature and create a serene and relaxing environment. After long days of exploring the island and hiking the PR's it was so wonderful to come home to this beautiful sanctuary. And the view - Breathtaking. Then there's Emma, our superb host. Her care and attention to detail is second to none. She was forthcoming with excellent recommendations and accommodated our requests to make our stay even more special. She has elevated the AirBnb experience. Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing stay, I'll be honest when we booked this we felt it was a bit to good to be true and was expecting it to not look as good as the photos...but wow the photos don't do it justice. The views were breathtaking, our villa was completely private and so peaceful. We loved watching the sunset every night and waking up to the view of the ocean from our bed in the morning. There's lots of really pretty wildlife to see too. I would definitely recommend renting a car to get around because it is out in the mountains. Sofia was a really good host, she was at the property when we arrived, really lovely and helpful. She sent lots of recommendation to us for places to explore and places to eat. We'd spent 3 days in Funchal before travelling out to the mountains. This Airbnb made our trip to Madeira so so special.

Hands down one of the best Airbnbs I’ve ever stayed at. The property was spotless and the view is unreal. Incredibly peaceful and great for a recharge. A rental car is properly your best bet for getting around the area, although you can get lucky and find Ubers occasionally. There is a parking spot available with a gate to enclose the property. That said, the area is incredibly safe and tranquil. Henrique was incredibly responsive, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, an amazing time. I highly recommend the place to anyone coming to Madeira.
