Family-friendly holiday rentals in Loch Shiel

We took our 2 teenagers and dog away for a couple of nights to chill out & we done exactly that! The house was exactly what we were after, location was amazing, right on the banks of the loch, along with hot tub and coal fire & absolutely peace we have had the best weekend, didn't want to leave. George was very helpful, messaging us before and after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. The village shop is literally just 2 mins walk with all your needs if you forget to bring anything. Very friendly and served the most amazing coffee and homemade cakes. Can't wait to return soon. Gail’s house was brilliant. Very tranquil and in a peaceful location, and the wildlife was fab. The house was huge and contained everything you might need for a fun weekend away!

Our stay was bliss. Beautiful, quirky Lodge. Lot's of thought has gone into guest comfort, bbq hut was well used as was the fire pit. My partner and I enjoyed a week of gorgeous weather and spent many a night in the tub star gazing. There is an absolute abundance of wild life to see without moving from the lodge, deer, pheasants, squirrel and we've never heard so many cuckoo's in one place. Zoe the house keeper was an absolute gem and well worth a mention. I rate this location as an absolute 10/10. I have holidayed in many lodge's but out of them all this is the only one I am determined to return to

Such an idyllic little cottage. Almost hard to believe how nice it (and the surroundings) were. Went for a nice walk around the neighborhood and there were birds singing and flowers everywhere. Would stay again!

We had an amazing week at Nether Glenny! The location is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views and endless opportunities for walking right from the cottage. Alison was extremely accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially loved relaxing in the hot tub after a day of exploring the beautiful local area. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with fantastic hospitality, this is the place to be. Highly recommended—we can’t wait to return!

We had a lovely couple of days here as a family. Home was lovely spacious and gret views. on arrival were greeted and shown round by familys lovely son. scones and wine waiting for us which was a lovely touch. views from the hot tub were stunning and the rivwr at the botom of the garden made for lovely sounds. Wether was great so made it even more special. would definately return. thanks for having us.

Kristy provided clear directions with a warm personal welcome - including some candy bars (my wife’s favorite Kit Kat)! Her cabin was perfect for our stay and the hot tub was great on an 8 degree day after a swim in Loch Ness. I HIGHLY recommend staying with Kristy if a cabin setting appeals to you.

A great place to stay in Callander. It is on the main road but isn't noisy, very handily right across from Tesco and 30 seconds round the back is access to the river (good for dog walking). We did drive past the parking spot at first but having a place to put the car is great. 8 minute drive to the bottom of Ben Ledi walk - which I would recommend. Very comfortable space big enough for 2 and a dog, had pans/knives/boards etc. Also had salt/pepper/oil which is helpful. Emma was responsive and kindly let us check out flexibly as noone else had booked in.

We loved our few days at Arras Beag. The location is peaceful, the views are stunning and it is very convenient for lots of mountain walks. We saw otters several times just outside, which was lovely. You can walk direct from the house, but are asked to keep dogs on leads. The house is warm, the log burner is easy to light and very effective and there's plenty of hot water. The kitchen has the basics but not much in the way of equipment - fine for a few days if you're not doing much cooking from scratch. The bedrooms are probably best suited to a couple and 2 children - the 2nd room is significantly smaller than the master suite, with twin beds and no en suite. We were 2 couples and it was very comfortable nonetheless. Overall, we had a great stay and would very happily return. Thank you!

Anna's flat was wonderful. It had everything we needed, was really clean and in a great location. It was only a short walk to the centre of the town, but on a quiet street so we all slept really well in the comfy beds. Anna was very quick to reply to messages and made sure we had everything we needed.

Great stay at this fantastic house. Party of nine with dog. Three generations all enjoyed the space and the beautiful surroundings. Perfect that each room has an en-suite. Plenty of room for cooking in kitchen and two fridges. Selection of spaces to socialise or have time to yourself. Everyone found the house very relaxing and great to be able to bring dog.

La promesse de la vue était fabuleuse et nous avons pas été déçus. Si vous recherchez un endroit paisible et isolé, c’est l’endroit parfait. Il n’est pas parfaitement placé si vous cherchez les endroits touristiques à visiter mais le lieu se suffit à lui même pour quelques nuits et il est parfait pour se reposer et profiter du calme. Les chambres et pièces de vie sont très belles et bien décorées. Merci de mettre une belle maison comme ça à disposition.

This place is a real gem with stunning views ! Our family really enjoyed staying here. It was very clean and well equipped! And there was clear and great instructions for everything.

Merman Cottage was a lovely spot close to various sites in the North of Skye. The place was peaceful, clean, and had everything we needed for a few days with our 3yo daughter. Alistair was a great host and provided us with helpful tips. It was a pleasure!

Our party included 7 adults, child and a dog. We all had an amazing Easter Break. The house was very clean. Kitchen and bathroom were very well equipped, including various handy sundries. Log burner made our evenings warm and cozy. We loved the chickens and the fact we could pick up our own fresh each morning. The view from the conservatory was absolutely beautiful. Great location, the house is situated on a farm, far from any traffic. We would highly recommend.

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

Wonderful place and hosts! Caroline and her husband were wonderful, made our anniversary very special. The wood fired hot tub was such a delight after some long hikes in the mountains and they made sure it was perfectly heated for us each night. They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. left is some treats that were amazing and it's just such a cozy cottage. We absolutely loved our stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, Douglas is an attentive host who was available when needed. The bungalow was equipped with everything we needed for cooking and resting which was much appreciated as our stay was over Christmas! Douglas very kindly gifted some wine and chocolates and he was there for our arrival to show us around the house, giving some useful information on nearby shops, places to eat and things to do. We were unfortunate with the weather; however, the bungalow was very cosy and thoughtfully decorated for Christmas and time spent inside looking out at the fabulous views made up for it!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in der alten Abtei sehr geliebt - wir haben uns ein bisschen gefühlt wie Harry Potter in Hogwarts. Die Wohnung war sauber, gute ausgestattet und sehr geräumig. Die Außenanlage der Abtei ist ein Traum und der Pool ganz wunderbar!

Fabulous stay on Lismore. The Bunkhouse is in a stunning setting and we loved that it was so comfortable, cosy but also environmentally sustainable. Mike was super helpful and gave us lots of helpful advice about things to do on the island. Can’t wait to go back!
