In Lexington, on the BBQ Trail, close to antique hot spots, and less than an hour to Austin (the “live music capital of the world”), this tranquil setting - away from city noise and light pollution – offers relaxing country atmosphere in a cool 1880s era home with old charm and modern comfort.
“This home is an absolute gem! After having checked out other Air BnB’s in the area, it is with absolute certainty you will find no better place for hospitality, comfort and amenities. If you’d like to relax at days end or take a mid day break, the porch is a great place, or catch a movie on Roku TVs through out the home. But most of all the small town charm and fabulous recommendations David makes will add to your experience. We look forward to our return in wildflower season. If you are an antique buff look no farther. This is a great place to call home and check out antique stores in the towns all within driving distance. Hoping to catch Snow’s famous BBQ on our next go. I’d like to say I depend on upon good reviews in choosing our Air BnB homes and on that note - look no further! I’m confident you’ll appreciate the down home touches of local baked goods and freshly ground coffee, a wonderful compliment to a comfortable night’s rest. Thank you again David!”
Have you ever heard tall pines whisper? This is the place. Secluded rustic cabin on 300 acres of private pine forest. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking & views from large deck. Cabin's decor is based on local legend & Broadway hit, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, replete with the madam's bed. Fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker, blender, microwave, & dishwasher. BBQ on the outdoor charcoal grill. 2 miles off highway. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, & families.
“This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. All the comforts of home (minus the WiFi-which was so nice!!!) and still a major touch of country. Our days were filled with naps, exploring the woods, coffee on the porch, naps, building fires to cook dinner, naps, naps in the hammock, and listening to the trees, bugs and animals. Judson was very nice. Place is big so he’s not very close but there anytime we needed him right away.”
The Modern Molly is a beautiful guest home located on the Double M Ranch in Rockdale, Texas. The building served as the used car office for the Gaither Ford Motor Company from the 1960's through the 1990's. It then spent 17 years as Pauline's Tacos, the go-to place for Rockdalians to grab their morning tortilla fix. Finally, it made the trek to County Road 300, where it got the make-over of a lifetime, and has become a relaxing retreat for those seeking a different kind of lodging experience.
“Wow, what a beautiful piece of Texas! We had such a great time at Molly’s place. Molly is a doll, and made sure we were happy and comfortable. We enjoyed talking to her and getting to know all about her animals. We spent a lot of time on the back porch with the fire pit just talking, playing games, and eating Blue Bell. Our kiddo loved reading on the hammock. We brought a football and a soccer ball and the dudes played their hearts out. Molly’s place is as cute as can be - and super duper clean! She has top quality appliances and everything you need if you feel like cooking. The bed is heaven, and we slept great. She has all kinds of quilts and throws to keep cozy. We enjoyed exploring the property and hanging out with the animals - the donkey is a hoot! What a personality! We can’t wait to come back for a visit! Also, be sure to stop at Brett’s Backyard BBQ for the best there is, so darn good!”
