Harmony House is situated on the beautiful Colorado River just two miles from downtown Bastrop. We've been told our property is Zen Central with its two acres of quiet meditative spots. Walk with ease to the water where you can partake in fishing, tubing, kayaking, swimming or just sitting and watching it all flow by. Birds and wildlife abound. Visit our dome and get your Zen on... We have built what we feel is the ultimate sanctuary to get away from it all. Breathe In, Breathe Out and let go!
“Nothing but good things to say about our stay last weekend! Harmony house was the perfect escape. The location is exactly like the pictures show, right on the river. Super convenient if you are looking to jump right in! Andy was a great host, very responsive and welcoming. The hard work he has put into this property is inspiring. You will leave with a new appreciation for nature and all things green! We needed a quick getaway after canceling a trip to Colorado, and I am so grateful Andy’s place was available. The fact that this property allowed pets was a HUGE plus for my boyfriend and I with our 2 pups. My mom even came to visit for a day and Andy welcomed her and all of her plant questions. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience at Harmony house! We will definitely be returning when we can.”

“What a secluded little gem in the middle of a nature sanctuary! Easy drive in from Houston, letting us get away for a few days, but with all of the amenities! The cabin is very nicely appointed with everything you would need to cook your meals, grill, make a fire (even skewers for your s'mores), and supplies to clean as you go if you're a bit of a clean freak like me. I should mention, the place was spotless on arrival. Added bonus were all the little historical touches throughout the house and books to go along with the theme. Really neat and informative! No wifi, so you have to use your cell data, which means you can really disconnect if you want, but at the same time not be totally disconnected. There is cable, however, dish network I think it was, bc after all we're not savages! In the 2 and a half days that we spent there with our 6 year old we never felt the need to leave the grounds. But if you did, you'd be just a stone's throw from the state parks and everything in Bastrop. We walked the trails on the property, "discovered" several lakes where we got to watch frogs and dragon flies (it was too hot to sit and try to fish this time, but we'll be back to try when the weather gets cooler!). We even came upon a couple of very sweet and friendly donkeys! We could not have asked for a better getaway at this price point. The AC is new and works well, even when it was 105 degrees outside during a heat advisory, the house stayed cool once it cooled down from when we arrived. We had breakfast on the back deck and our son happily watched the stars from the lovely hammock. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the deck fans at first but Judson was very attentive in answering our queries right away. We found out the garbage disposal wasn't working only *after* dropping some coffee grounds into it on the last day, but we always felt like we could ask about anything. A few tips if you're planning a trip to this area. The cabin does provide a Brita, but I would recommend also bringing bottled water for drinking and cooking. And we Houstonians got a nice respite from mosquitos (too hot and dry) but you will want bug spray this time of year for biting horse flies. It's TX after all. On the bright side, we got so see some really cool insects on our walks like iridescent emerald green beetles, which we've only seen behind glass at the zoo. In short, this cabin seems truly beloved by its owners and it really shows in every room and all the details to visitors who have the good humor to choose it. You will not be disappointed! We can't wait to return in the Fall.”

“This place was perfect as a home base for my wedding! We had our rehearsal dinner there, as well as the bridal party getting ready. There was plenty of space and it was well stocked (towels, toilet paper, blankets, etc.). It was as beautiful as the pictures. So much so that we took most of our wedding pictures there. The only bummer was the hot water. I had a cold shower on my wedding day because one person got in the shower before me. It seems to replenish quickly though, so just space out your showers and you'll be good. We'll definitely be back!”
