A beautiful, newly built cottage featuring traditional oak beams and a double height kitchen/diner resembling a chapel. The glazed rear wall lets in plenty of light, while french doors open onto a charming patio – a sun trap where you can sit outside, weather permitting. Above the cosy living room are the bedroom and en suite shower, tucked under the rafters with sloping ceilings. Exposed oak beams, oak doors and stripped pine floors create a delightful fusion of traditional and modern design.
“Lovely place. Nice and clean and spacious. Very warm and cosy, easy check in and the host was very quick to respond to all questions. A local shop 2 mins walk away with all essentials and supermarkets 10 mis drive.”
19th century cottage in 13th century village. Fully modernised with new kitchen/dining room, lounge and bathroom downstairs, with two bedrooms upstairs (main bedroom leading off bedroom at top of stairs - no door at top of stairs into small bedroom). Older cottage type so steep narrow stairs. Suitable for couple or with one child. Free car park across the road. 30 minutes drive to north Norfolk coast, local to National Trust houses and lots of walking trails.
“Lily's cottage was at the perfect spot for our 4-day break. Everything was in great condition. We enjoyed our time and would highly recommend this for anyone wanting a relaxing break away from city hustle and bustle. Thanks, Diane and Alan. We will be back soon :)”
We offer rural stays for the modern explorer. The Old Tackroom is lovingly filled with reclaimed items making it welcoming and cosy, a perfect retreat after a day discovering Norfolk. The accommodation is set in the old stable courtyard and has a private courtyard area of its own which is dog secure. We are hoping to have a small farm shop set up in September so guests can buy local produce during their stay and gifts to take home.
“Grant was very communicative from the get-go, and gave some super recommendations in advance of our stay. We met him briefly on arrival, and it wasn’t a surprise to find out he’s a really nice guy in person! Everything was straightforward, and check-in (and check-out) was very easy. The Tackroom has been lovingly restored, and the pictures reflect how it really is: stylish, immaculately clean and tasteful. Everything worked perfectly. The area is really pretty - quintessentially British - so plenty of opportunity for walks, etc. We had an amazing meal at a nearby Pub: The Saracean’s Head. Apparently, the Friday night pizza from Husk bakery is amazing, but when I tried to order the same morning (despite Grant’s warning to call earlier), it was too late - the guy said best to call a week in advance! All-in-all, we really couldn’t fault it. Thanks Grant and Leigh :)”
