Casa del Sol is a guest casita on an artist's property, offering a unique get away vacation spot. A tranquil sanctuary to relax and rejuvenate! If you love star gazing, some of the darkest skies and the brightest stars are right outside your bedroom door. We are close to the VLA, and a short drive to Bosque Del Apache wildlife sanctuary. Additionally, Casa del Sol is a great location for hiking, rock-hounding, or an artist's retreat.
“I cannot say enough great things about Gwen's place. It exceeded my expectations in every way, and my stay was pure magic! Gwen went out of her way to take me around with her and her adorable dogs to some local spots. I really enjoyed our conversations, but I always felt like I had enough privacy and space to myself. The casita was full of small touches that made the space feel really comfortable. Things like having shampoo, extra blankets, plenty of lights of various brightness, and a well equipped kitchenette. I could have stayed for a month with the amenities. I also loved the shared yard. It was so cute and there was lots of places to sit depending on the weather and time of day. It was perfect. I also LOVED my view from my bedroom out the screen door and overlooking the mountains. So blissful. I will be back as soon as I can! I can't recommend more highly!”

“Well, getting to The Lone Pine in is super easy, for one. Then, from the moment you walk in the door, you feel like you just walked into one of Earnest Hemingway's writer's retreat! Just no way to show how spacious this place is, and how special. Everything is solid wood, from floor to ceiling, and it is adorned with so many antiques! All have their own story, which Cindi gives an e excellent overview of, with photos and drawings...its amazing! It's like renting a log cabin! The kitchen is large, with a fantastic assortment of snacks, and large new side by side fridge stocked with sodas, & sparkling waters. Coffe in the morning is Keurig ready! There is a huge claw foot bathtub that can double as a swimming pool, if need be! And if you have any kind of small medical emergency, the bathroom cabinets are stocked with everything from bandaid to benadryl & more! Beautiful apricot trees , peach, and a plum shade the west side of the house. And there is a fantastic screened in porch iff the kitchen, for taking in the morning sun, or just after dinner, before heading off to bed, in a super comfy queen sized overstuffed bed...ah! Relax, you're home! So much to tell, I could write a book about it, but you'll just have to see for yourself! Local history will blow your mind! Cindi is an amazing hostess!”

“Great location, and the host was extremely responsive at every stage of our reservation, including our greatly delayed flight into Albuquerque. It was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. It's a little hard to find at dark, so arrive during daylight hours if you can. We were gone all day every day photographing at Bosque del Apache, but it suited our needs quite well.”
