“We had a wonderful stay thankyou! Staying up and watching all the bats was amazing as was the coot family that live on the lake. They were wary at first but loved the proper food l bought off amazon for only a few pounds ...was so funny watching them head over to us when we were on the decking! We're only an hour away from home but its been bliss after having all of this years trips cancelled! Very comfy bed, amazing large bath (there's a sep shower) and lovely big kitchen if you like cooking. I'd recommend the local butcher too Sadd's, we had lovely steak, and some of the best sausages and bacon l've had for ages. We had a day out to Hawkstone Follies and Carding Mill Valley. You need to pre-book at the mo for Hawkstone and get to Carding Mill early if on the weekend. Fabulous stay!!”
A ridge of pine soars high above the village; so take to the hills and inhale the beautiful countryside. Drop muddy boots at the door and sink into the 18th century panelled snug with bar and breakfast room. Cook up a storm in the large sociable kitchen and feast around the elegant dining table - spread out - it's all yours. Six individually styled en-suite bedrooms await upstairs with piles of fluffy towels and crisp linen. Life spills into the garden, with rambling roses and floral scents.
“Sorrel House is a real find. We were six couples who spent an absolutely superb time over New Year in this former hotel. The facilities are tremendous. We particularly enjoyed the bar area next to the large dining room as well as the large kitchen. The bedrooms are very good with TVs hidden inside wall mirrors! (not that we had any spare time to watch them!). The provision of all the ingredients needed for a full English offered just what we needed on New Year’s Day morning!! Vicki gave us a good tour round to familiarise us with the large premises. There is a large garden, although New Year wasn’t the right time to be able take advantage of this. We did a couple of nice walks from Grinshill with the rather flat countryside contrasting starkly with the Derbyshire Peak District where we normally walk. We would strongly recommend Sorrel House for a large group to stay – you are sure to enjoy these excellent facilities.”
In a pretty village a few miles north of Shrewsbury and major routes. Large bungalow...a great social space for friends and family, and toddler and elderly friendly. Book it if you’re working away, for a cycling or walking holiday, exploring Shropshire, going to a wedding or festival, moving homes, or simply relaxing. The village has a traditional and friendly country pub, and ‘Shropshire Floats ‘ offering a must-have floatation experience with countless benefits. Ask me for further details.
“We recently stayed at Olivet with my 18 Month old, it was a lovely clean and spacious. Helen had supplied a highchair and cot for my daughter and even put up a fire guard for the log burner. The property was perfectly situated for trips into Shrewsbury and Oswestry and had fantastic views to look out on. The bungalow was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking to say in the area.”
