The house is in a part of the very quiet roman countryside ..... immersed in a wood in the summer months it is much cooler than the city of rome and you can also use the pool ...... ideally stay here if you want Stay away from the city chaos ....
“Rachele’s place is really awesome. We loved the quietness there and the dogs are just the cutest ever. If you’re by car there’s no problem getting to rome and all the lovely towns in the neighborhood. We can definitely recommend this place to everyone who wants to see Italians big city but doesn’t want to spend the whole time in the busy city center.”
Relaxation and comfort are the protagonists of this bright and spacious environment. The presence of the whirlpool bath which is embraced by a place reminiscent of a luxurious spa gives you maximum relaxation. The bed is comfortable and handcrafted with solid wood. The 50 inch TV that can be directed wherever you want allows you to watch all your favorite shows for a cinema experience!
“We had a great time at Gianluigis place he was a great host and it was an amazing luxury experience. We loved chilling in the hot tub watching Netflix and eating the biggest pizza ever from spichys takeaway 2mins from the house or having a nice drink at king cross pub round the corner. We would definitely recommend this place to any couple looking for a nice relaxing break in a not so busy part of Rome. Also there is a bus stop right outside that takes you to anguillara sabizia or it's a 10-15min walk to the lakeside town. We can't wait come back. Bellissimo!!”
"Villa Olivella" is located in Campagnano di Roma, an ancient village in the north of Rome, whose origins date back to Roman times. The property is surrounded by a lush garden of 6,000 square meters, has a pool and two houses facilities.
“We’ve just got back from 10 days at Ludovica’s villa and it was AMAZING! The location is very convenient, around 45-50 mins from Leonardo da Vinci (FCO) airport, so finding it was stress free and easy. The villa is classic in style with spacious rooms and a nice layout. The pool, as others have commented, is just delightful. Cleaned daily and so nice to swim in - one of the nicest pools I’ve swum in for many years. To be clear for others, because I wasn’t sure how it worked before we got there, the pool is shared with another villa on the property - also Ludovica’s. This set up works perfectly fine. We have two young children (4 and 7) so we spent most days around the pool as it was the first decent holiday we’d had as a family in a while. Being there for 10 days the first part of the week had some American/Canadian guests in the other villa and they were out most of every day ‘doing Italy’ so we had the place to ourselves. As a courtesy we tended to slope off around 4pm when they returned just to give them some quiet time without our two kids going mad. The second half of the week had a German family with a young boy staying so the pool worked great (again when both families were there) because the kids did what kids do best and got on playing together - with not regard for the language barrier! There are plenty of loungers, sun spots and umbrellas if both residents are using the space at the same time but as I say, we had it largely to ourselves. The gardens around the property are beautifully manicured and that was a bonus feature the kids loved, having somewhere to play and run around. There were negative comments we read about noise from the nearby racetrack and proximity to the main road but, in our opinion, unless you are used to complete silence (or want complete silence) we didn’t find any of this at all intrusive. It is very light background noise. We have stayed in very rural Italy before which is always nice but the downside to that is you’re typically miles from anywhere - which becomes a pain when you want some bread or milk. Ludo’s place is not in the middle of nowhere, instead near to the local town and other facilities; but this just makes it accessible and easy. The main road referred to is a modest Italian rural road, not a busy highway. The property itself is behind substantial electric gates and screened from the road. It is completely self contained so secure for children and, on the whole, perfectly quiet and peaceful. The racing (if its even on) is only during the day and stops over lunch generally - for us anywhere, I’m not sure it was a full racing event, more of a track day/testing. During the evening and night it is as quiet as anywhere. There were also comments about mosquitos, yes there are mosquitos but this is typical for anywhere that can be hot and humid. It is not a big deal but rather to be expected. Take some bug spray, some itch cream and get on with it! The villa has nets on most of the windows so if you keep the main door closed the villa can be a bite free zone. Ludovica is assisted by Olimpia who lives nearby and met us on arrival and check out. She is wonderfully helpful and friendly. Quick to respond on text if you have any queries whilst there and just a lovely person who deserves a name-check in this review! Overall we’d definitely recommend Ludovica’s place to anyone. Perfect for lounging around the pool or as a super convenient base to explore Rome and and the wider Lazio area. We’d love to go back one day!”
