“Nice little weekend, very welcoming host. Really cute setting, to rediscover with pleasure in the sunnier period! Clean and well equipped accommodation with a nice little view. A relaxing setting for lovers of nature and calm. We recommend and will come back with great pleasure!”
Set in the heart of the Normandie countryside, this home, that is still under renovation, is ideal for relaxing at, for an overnight stay, or a longer visit in order to enjoy the attractions in the neighbourhood eg Mont St Michel, the D-day beaches, mediaeval towns, and beaches on the Cherbourg peninsular, or in the area around St Malo. We welcome singles, couples of all descriptions, families (although unsuited to very young children under 3), and enjoy international as well as local guests.
“Very good stay with Jane and André. Accommodation conforms to the description. Comfortable bed, quiet place, in the countryside. Small, very pleasant private lounge. The possibility to eat on site suited us well as we were on a bicycle, and few shops / restaurants nearby. It also allowed us to spend some time with Jane and André and discuss and remake the world in English. A “real” Airbnb that we highly recommend.”
This is a roomy (144m²), comfortable, clean house set in beautiful countryside. The house faces magnificent views over the rural landscape. It is within 7 minutes of Mortain a historic town, restaurant and supermarket. It is within 15 mins of major regional towns, 40 mins for Mont St Michel. There is a lawn and mature garden. It is on a quiet cul de sac with almost no traffic. Woodland and riverside walks are within 2 minutes. There is a BBQ and bicycles. We have WiFI, TV. Log fire.
“Lovely, spacious cottage in a great location. Kitchen is very well equipped and the hub of the gite. Cottage has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Outside space was enjoyed by all and the table tennis table great for a bit of friendly competition. We visited somewhere different for the 14 days we where there. Sandy beaches with fabulous rock pools just 45 minutes drive away. Zoo, was also a good day out. Villages of Ducey, Sourdeul, Bagnol, Domfront, Fourgiers and Mortain all recommended to visit. Walking in the area is great and forest walking paths from the house great to explore. The garden and cottage is not overlooked and private. Would have been happy to stay longer. The couple that manage the property are on hand if needed, but not invasive. Recommend this accommodation to people who like there own space and privacy but within easy reach of enjoying French villages, exploring countryside and embracing the relaxed pace of rural France.”
