Holiday rentals with a fireplace in La Alpujarra

We arrived on 2nd April and wasn’t disappointed at all . We were greeted by Katia who showed us around . The place is fantastic . The hill is for everyone but we had no problems . The house is brilliant but I would say that the games rooms needs sorting out as there is gym equipment that doesn’t work . I would definitely recommend to anyone and would love to come back again . The restaurants on the sea front are amazing highly recommend the pizza place on the beach front .

We had a long stay 6 weeks in feb/march 25. our dog was with us for half of the stay. The house is as described, we had quite unusually wet weather for half of our stay but the climate control in the house worked really well so we could be warm in the cool evenings. The house is very cute and spacious and the roof terrace was amazing on the sunny days. Pia told us about some of the lovely walking routes and we enjoyed many of them. There is an easy walk to Competa ( once you get to the top of the village- which is pretty steep) it is fairly flat with wonderful views of the mountains and the sea. I would recommend Maro beach, it has parking ( in winter) and a small beach bar, lovely clear water where you can hire a Kayak 22 euro for 1 hour where you can see a fab waterfall that is only visible from the sea. Adrian's bar in Competa, great for cocktails, very chic. Pia was very responsive as was Chris who lived close by for any issues. A real home from home feel. we had a great time.

We were 4 pax 2 adults and two children, the house was shiny and with all the needs covered. There was even some breakfast so a 10. Miguel advised us places to eat and visit that were very successful. Thank you so much for the experience

The house is wonderful, it has breathtaking views, perfect place if you want to disconnect and tranquility. The place was perfect, it has everything. Especially Juan Carlos was attentive to all messages, he was very friendly and responded quickly. It is 20min drive from Granada and easy to get to. We would repeat 100%.

Toni and Jose were wonderful hosts. We will come again.

If you wanna stay at mountain, enjoy amazing view, relax without city lights this is place to be. Big recommendation!

Massimo’s cottage is very cosy and rustic, on the smaller size but for two people you don’t need more. Very private location and beautiful views of the mountains. Very friendly animals who love a pat.

The apartment had everything you need so you don't miss anything, very equipped and cozy. Ruth took care of us at all times and took care of the slightest detail. A fantastic vacation without a doubt

Beautiful, charming, cozy and warm, which was not missing detail. Host very attentive and ready to resolve any issue. Very good located with stunning views and close to the chair lift. To put a glimpse, I would say that the shower has little pressure and that the pedestrian door of the garage to climb to the apt is signposted and at first it is difficult to locate which it is, but in general it is a very pleasant time we spent a few very pleasant days in it.

Quiet area, a little far from downtown Granada but easy to catch transport to get there. We chose this place because we were traveling by car and wanted an area with parking. It wasn't that easy to find parking, but with some persistence we got it. Maybe because it was the weekend it was a little harder. However our stay was great, the apartment is suitable for two people, with the essentials to spend a few days. It also has the bonus of having information about public transportation and recommendations. Manuel was a great host, available and gave very clear instructions.

It was all great! Very conveniently located, quiet, beautiful and private. He even helped us pick up a cell phone we forgot there after check-out! Thank you very much! We look forward to repeating.

Incredible stay! The host was responsive, the space was clean and beautiful set up. The location in old town doesn’t get better. The terraza was beautiful to sit and take in the sights of the street. Easily walkable to restaurants and bars. Would absolutely stay again! Thank you for everything!

We had a great time at Elena's place. Very good location, breathtaking view from the terrace, very clean, comfortable bedding, well-equipped... We'll gladly come back.

The accommodation is in a great location for visiting the ancient city and the Alhambra facing. The view is just sublime. Neighborhood life is nice. There are bars and restaurants nearby. The accommodation is as described, with a soul and very cozy. It is well equipped to make sure the stay goes smoothly. We only spent 3 nights and would have stayed longer, in order to better discover the city and its atmosphere.

The place was absolutely beautiful, fantastic location. Bigger than expected, both inside and out. In a quiet area but walking distance to Nerja and the beach. Shops very close by as well. Ralph was very quick to respond to questions, we had an issue with our vehicle whilst there which Ralph helped us with by providing local contact details. Everything made very easy. Could not have asked for any more, highly recommend this property.

What can I say about Craig’s place that hasn’t already been said other than if I could give it 100 stars, I would. My husband and I spent 8 nights in this slice of heaven and felt like we were on top of the world. From the inception of our reservation, we were well cared for by Craig and Georgina, who lives local and looked in on us. We wanted for nothing. The well appointed kitchen, beautiful linens, hot tub, pool (although weather made it too cold to swim) washer and the views. The VIEWS were magical and the stars and silence at night….beautiful. The hiking around Competa and Canillas was lovely. Craig’s info so helpful and the tourism office in Competa helped us with hikes also. We loved the Aquaduct hike from Canillas to Archez and the Goat Path from Comp to Can. Both easy! So much fun in Competa also. Bars and restaurants full of wonderful folks from all over the world. So welcoming. We loved Adriano’s in Competa as well as Alicat. Two fun places! Thank you Craig and Georgina!

Just back from a wonderful stay at Ashleigh’s gorgeous and peaceful Casa. The view from both inside the property and the terraces was absolutely spectacular at every time of day. Just like the photos. Everything worked perfectly in the home, including a high spec kitchen, and the pool was heated to a very comfortable temperature for swimming, even when the air was a bit chilly. The children were in heaven, and we especially appreciated that there was no additional charge for the heating of the pool. The view from within the pool is second to none- with snow capped mountains to the North and the sea and the Moorish castle all to behold. Truly breathtaking. The layout of the house was ideal for our family, and the location provided much-needed peace and quiet, while it was a 5 minute drive into Salobrena for all the amenities one could need. Ashleigh was very responsive to our questions. We loved every minute of our stay and are already discussing when we might visit again!

A quiet house, well located near Granada, and near Sierra Nevada. Well-equipped, we were very comfortable.

It's very nice villa with all the amenities that the family needs. There were even spices and other things left in the kitchen. Very handy. The drive is up the hill and I would not recommend to walk there, especially with children. There is a lot of space in the house and the outdoor area is amazing. The jacuzzi is a plus as the swimming pool was too cold to use in April. Almuñécar is not very busy yet as it's not holiday time in Spain, again it's a plus.I would highly recommend El Caminito del Rey and the cave in Nerja if you like outdoor adventures with your family

We had a wonderful month long stay at Lorie’s beautiful villa. It was well equipped for all our cooking and hosting needs. Spacious and comfortable for a group of 8. We enjoyed walking down the hill to the beach (20 min) and taking day trips to nearby Nerja, Granada, Malaga, Solabrena, and further to Seville and Ronda. Watching the sunrise over the hills and sea from the front patio with the stunning view will be etched in our memories of this happy time in La Herradura. The village itself is quiet and less touristy than others but with plenty of restaurants and activities for the family. Lorie was quick to respond to all our requests and a gracious host.

From start to finish staying at Casa Rey was a first class experience. The communication from Debbie was great. We asked loads of questions and always received a prompt response. Although like many villas it was off the main road, the directions and helpful pin drop made finding the villa at night no problem at all. The villa and apartment were spotlessly clean, very well equipped and just as described. But the best bit came in the morning when you open the shutters for the first time, the view was breathtaking, total paradise. There were six of us staying at the villa, including four teenagers and they liked nothing better than lounging around the pool all day, particularly as the WiFi was so good. Competa town is a short drive away and we had some lovely evenings out at local restaurants/bars, with Casa Adriano being our favourite, if you get the opportunity try the tex mex nachos in the day time (food is served until 6pm). We will definitely be back to stay at Casa Rey.
