Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Kuratau

This is one of the best hosts I’ve ever met. We encountered a tricky situation, and the host set off from Auckland at 1 AM to help us. This was my parents’ first trip to New Zealand, and the experience left them with a great impression and deep gratitude. I highly recommend this place—you’ll get an amazing house with convenient access to many attractions.

really good value, typical kiwi bach from the 1970s. had everything you needed including a very well kitted out kitchen with a full size fridge freezer. the pictures accurately described the place. we loved the Woodburner. our dogs loved playing outside. great for big family trips as loads of space. thanks Jacqui 😀

We just had the most restful 10 days The house has an amazing view of the lake it’s peaceful and is equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The house is very warm and very modern. It is as advertised. We were only 20 minutes from Taupo so when we wanted a bit more action we were not far away. A great stay. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely view, big house, kitchen has everything you need. Nice being able to walk the paddocks with the kids.

The house was well-kept and cozy; it had everything we needed to have a great stay. The fire kept the place perfectly warm, and the extra heaters were great inside the rooms. With fresh and comfy bedding and hot water running on gas, there were no worries about everyone getting in a warm shower. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials: even spices, which meant we could make some great mulled wine. All of the rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy, with towels, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Perfectly located on a quiet street, just a short walk away from the local restaurants and Four Square. The ideal location for doing any of the wonderful hikes in the Tongariro National Park. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay, and would happily come back again!

Loved the homeliness of this place, was comfortable and cosy. Particularly loved the environment, quiet and peaceful and close to the lake and river walks.

We loved this place. Great living area for socialising, well equipped kitchen, showers had awesome water pressure, several lovely areas to sit outdoors. Perfect for our family get together with some of us staying onsite and others in the town centre. And later some items we'd left behind were returned to us which we were grateful for.

Spacious but intimate at the same time. The pool & spa was a luxury. Te Whio Retreat will be among our favorite top 5 Air bnb places in the north island. The retreat offers a private home away from home close enough to everything in turangi. Beautifully presented warm home. Large master bedroom with enough space for our baby to run around in his walker while we got ready in the ensuit. x3 showers with great pressure and heat, all able to be used at the same time. The backyard was enough room for our adult husky, fencing was high and kept her well enclosed and private from view of strangers if they were to approach the property. This home is situated in the rear end of a shared driveway, allowing for maximum privacy from public view. the two neighbouring properties on both sides of Te whio are also Airbnb/holiday homes and we're empty during our time at Te whio, we didn't have to worry about our kids causing "too much noise" whilst they made the most of the pool & us the spa.

When we opened the front door, we were amazed by the how close we were to the lake. We were thankful to have a grey, cold day…to light the fire, make a cuppa and watch the world go by outside. We woke to the sound of wind and when we looked out the bedroom windows, the ducks were riding the white caps on the lake. Do yourself a favour and book more than one night…it’s the perfect place to unwind

Despite an initial hiccup, we had a fantastic time at Tracy and Damien’s home. Tracy was very responsive and helpful. We loved our stay and will hopefully return to stay here again!

Lovely house, situated right next to Taupo lake and super nice view in good weather, what a pity that it was raining for the 2 days during our stay. Clean and cozy, we enjoyed the stay.

Everything was exactly as expected. The beds were super comfy and I still can’t believe how quiet it was!

Was everything our team needed, close to town (walkable), clean and clutter free. We will check to see if your BnB is available when we return to Taupo to work. Great shower and comfortable beds.

Love the retreat. The hosts were extremely kind & accomodating and the house was absolutely beautifully clean. It’s a bonus we could take our dogs, they loved the lake!

Mike and Amy were outstandingly friendly and helpful. Our late arrival wasn’t an issue and they were there to welcome us with the key to save our search in the dark. Amazing lakeside spot.

Was the perfect location for us to explore the area, including the forgotten highway. We were impressed how good the heating options were, x2 efficient heat pumps and great log burner, with heat transfer into the bedrooms, plenty of wood available. It was easy to feel at home as lots of personal touches throughout. We were a multi-generational family of 6 but could imagine x2 families would work well with the space. We self catered and kitchen was well set up to do this.

Really enjoyed our weekend here, and would definitely want to stay here again next time we're in Taupo. Had everything we needed, warm, great lake front location, and really close to the sailing club for pizza etc

The place was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully furnished, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our hosts were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always available whenever we had a question or needed assistance. Their warm hospitality truly made a difference and added a personal touch to our experience. The location was also ideal – peaceful and relaxing, yet conveniently close to local attractions and amenities. We had the most amazing stay at Eileen's property. She was very accommodating with our check in and check out time. Appreciated her heating the space up before we arrived in the dark. Perfect spot for a getaway. The outdoor bath was a great feature for a late night soak under the stars after walking up Mt Tauhara. Highly recommended.

3 generations of adults and all loved this property. It had everything we needed, the fire and plenty of wood was a lovely bonus. Beds super comfortable, and nice having plenty of bathrooms. Overall an enjoyable weekend, even the weather was superb, allowing the family to do the gondola and walks on the mountain. a lovely Cosy home with very nice furniture

The place very nice as described, easy access . My dog loved the back yard . Everything was provided . It felt like home Must recommended, would love to visit this place again . So generous to allow pets ❤️ It was very close to Tongariro river tracks
