Beachfront holiday rental in Kumejima, Shimajiri District

Such a great location for walking, and everything worked great in the house.

We had a great stay! The place was exceptionally clean, comfortable, well-maintained, and perfect for what we needed. Our host was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our visit, always quick to respond and ready to assist with anything we needed. One thing to note for future guests: getting around the area without a car can be a bit challenging, especially later in the evening when it’s harder to get Ubers/Taxi’s. That being said, our host went above and beyond to help us navigate those situations and made sure we were taken care of. Highly recommend staying here, especially if you're looking for a quiet, clean place with a truly wonderful host.

wonderful and friendly hosts with clear instructions on how to access the property, generous with their time and emotional energy. they sent extra photos showing how to park which was invaluable! they left a little gift basket of cookies to nibble on which my wife loved. they also recommended a yomitan cafe and it was fantastic. mimi would occasionally check in that we were having a good time and we always were! reminded me of staying with a nice aunt :) you cannot beat the location, as you walk down stairs and onto the sand of the beach. it feels more wild, quiet and lived in than a hyper-western and expensive resort, which was exactly what we wanted--a local beachy experience. go swimming at high tide within the reef and you will see lots of grazing parrotfish and butterflyfish--please be respectful to the local wildlife, the coral, and hakas! eddie and mimi have a bin of gear you are free to use, although i brought my own prescription goggles which let me see the fish even better.

My family loved our time here! Loved the seawall walks in the morning, close to everything we wanted to do. Sharon was extremely nice and checked every few days to ensure everything was ok. I would definitely stay here again!

The response was very kind, flexible, quick, and very helpful.The accommodation and facilities were also beautiful and clean, and it was the best facility without complaint.

We used it for 3 nights and 4 days with 6 adults and 3 children.I was able to spend time in a completely private space without hesitation. It's great to enjoy a BBQ while looking at the sea from the wooden deck in a very quiet place. The room is also tidy and very clean.All the utensils and other items you need to cook are provided, so you won't have any problems. If I had to say one thing, it would be a seasonal issue, but a small insect (Yasude) appeared.It is harmless to humans, so we were fine, but if you don't like insects, please be careful.(It's a tropical country, so I think insects are a given) The location is in the center of the main island, so it is convenient to move to the north and south in about an hour. We had the best trip and the best accommodation!

The location of the house is very easy to look for, drive caution at night because there are fewer street lights. The house was very clean, comfortable and at a very reasonable price. However, since there is no living room on the 1F level, it is not suitable for elderly people with bad feet. Overall a full score👍

They were amazing hosts ! I absolutely loved the place. The beach view was perfect and had everything we needed. Easy check in / check out. Beautiful property. Definitely would recommend and would stay again. Had an amazing time with my husband celebrating our wedding anniversary.

We have a lot of kids in our group For children, moving around the indoor space is smooth Two bathrooms, two kitchens, it's really great!

Beautiful property if you want to stay near Cape Maeda and prioritise snorkelling, scuba diving, beaches, and/or hiking. It was definitely far from a lot of restaurants and bars, and we had planned on using my IDP to rent a car but unforeseen circumstances made it impossible. However, I think we enjoyed the location and some time to unwind after travelling throughout Japan for the previous 2 weeks.

Beautiful place! A luxury stay in rural Okinawa. Very quiet and surrounded by nature. Definitely best to have a car or preplanned taxi/Ubers to access the place as public transport isn't super reliable. Host was a great communicator and we adored the sweet gifts that appeared at our door. Would stay longer if we could!

We were totally 4PAX in this travel. And I was looking for the entire house which has more than 4beds, and ocean that I can reach in 5minutes by walking, and swim as well. So there are. Everything was here. That was awesome and peaceful. However, the parking lot is a little bit small that you can park only 1 I think. But its not a big part of the journey. Anyway, We were so comfortable with staying and would like to thanks for helping us. If I get a chance to travel OKINAWA, I m going to reserve this house again. Thank you. We appreciated.

What an absolute honour and privilege to be able to stay in such a beautifully well-kept traditional Okinawan house. It is a stunning place, the pictures do not do it justice. It is quite far out so you will definitely need to rent a car, the drive is incredibly smooth along the beautiful seafront and just about an hour from the airport. It’s an easy drive to Cape Hedo which we would recommend, lots of little things to do around there (go see the Rail Observation point while you are there!). Hayato san was an incredibly helpful and gracious host, flexible on check-in and offered a lot of help! We wish we could have stayed longer, and will most definitely be returning to stay here or at another one of their properties.

We loved our stay ! Arriving was a little uncomfortable. This was our first time driving on the opposite side of the vehicle on the opposite side of the freeway and needing to understand tolls. We arrived later than expected ... in the dark. Because of the late arrival, a little stressed about the drive and not knowing what to expect, not having eaten, the arrival was not easy. It was difficult to find in the dark and we were unfamiliar with the area so didn't know where to eat. Our recommendation ..... if you are expecting to arrive late ... is to get familiar with the area before arrival. The toilet being on the different floor than the bed was just fine .... however the stairs were a little creaky so difficult to use the facilities without waking up the one next to you. AND ! Our stay was fantastic. Thank you !

This was a great place to stay with an amazing little beach within walking distance. There are plenty of places to buy groceries and eat / drink nearby and Kokoni was a very communicative host. Would definitely recommend!

It was so nice to be close to the beach. It was so unfortunate that I couldn't play in the water because it was raining during my stay, but I think it would be great to play in the water. There were a lot of supplies in the accommodation, so it was convenient during my stay. However, it was a little uncomfortable because there was a lot of smell from the sewer.

Lovely place with great views. Very spacious and the host was very friendly. Walking distance to the beach. Highly recommend this area since it’s located almost half way point of the island.
