Vidyun's hill home in Dhamas, overlooks the snow clad Himalayan peaks of Trishul and Nanda Devi, with pine forest walks, bird watching and occasional sightings of leopard, pine martins, jackals in the forest behind the house. The house has 2 (two) "ensuite" bedrooms with private bathrooms. We do not give out the two bedrooms separately. Each bedroom is equipped to accommodate up to 3 guests. Even if a single guest books the entire cottage is kept free so u have EXCLUSIVE use.

After spending years in the beauty of coastal land and lapping in the sea and with it its infinite beauty ,a naval couple decided to build something in the Himalayas - their first love. It had to be serene, peaceful , with a garden, high but not too much, cool but not cold, homely and warm, in wilderness but connected, green but not a jungle. A hand-built mountain home at 2,400m — where the road ends and the Himalayas fill every window. Architect-designed villa with glass walls, wooden interiors, and snow-capped peaks from your bed. Every beam carried up by hand or mule — built the old mountain way. Reached via a 25–30 min uphill trek from the parking point — a proper mountain trail, not a flat walk. Plan accordingly if travelling with seniors or young children. Horses available on request.

Luxury Earth Home in the offbeat Himalayas

The last 7 years have been an incredible learning experience. Since we moved to the village, the priorities have changed. There was a sense of discovery in everything we did. There were chai-filled conversations with elders and young turks and stories on how homes and communities were built. It's these learnings that led us to build these earth homes. Kumaon has been a great teacher. And we hope we've done justice to her sustainable ways.
